One more advantage: if you buy a lot of things, that you have to pay extra fees in your country, you can save a ton of money if you pay it only for a package, instead of paying 20 times for each individual item you buy :) . In the country I'm living in, I have to pay around $20 just to get the tax calculation, that is the service fee. So if I buy 5 items above the $65 tax-free limit, I have to pay $100 + the tax and VAT before I can get the item.
I believe we only have to pay import fees if it’s over $800 here in the states. I’m gonna pin this because it’s something important I forgot to mention

We're always looking to improve and have taken onboard your gripes about pre-selecting shipping and the shipping calculator. Hopefully we can streamline this to be a little less frustrating in the future.
Regarding the logic behind the metroid packaging, I believe it was sandwiched between other layers of bubble-wrap to avoid unnecessarily bloating the parcel with additional size, but I will feedback the dissatisfaction to our Warehouse manager.

@@JakeSimmonsOn the final stage of parcel creation there is a text box labelled "Additional Requests".
Any comments you leave in this box will be seen by our warehouse staff as they pack your parcel. The clearer the instructions, the more likely that they will be able to help, so it's best to keep it simple.
I have used Sendico soooo much the past year as it has been where I get all my “junk” gameboys. Like you said Japan tends to take way better care of their stuff. Every “junk” gameboy I have bought so far has been in working condition. One was in such mint condition I decided to leave it as is because I felt way too guilty doing anything to it. Shipping from Japan to Wisconsin can be pricey but I found that as long as I buy like 5-7 items at a time depending on size it ends up being worth it. I love getting their packages and getting my little oragami crane. I have a collection of them! Great video as usual Jake! This is really great because nobody broke down the fees from all the videos I saw that made me start using the service, but the fees make it worth it with some of the steals I’ve found. It just takes a lot of looking daily and luck.
I’m also realizing now that I never got any origami :-( it’s probably out there with my DS game somewhere

the only way to go is auctions, because of the price and fees, but there are plenty of auctions everyday. sometime you do get screwd in shipping. i just got a gba, a gamecube with gba player and some controllers. in yahoo auctions sometimes the inland shipping is in the add

Not really a bulk buyer person, since I only and mainly go Gameboy/DS. It is great for that job and if you like fixing old tech. I find myself in US items being sold of course overpriced or not good, but I do find reasonable sellers and that know what they're selling and give it a cheap or reasonable price on it, even to the extent that they accept my offers if its 15-20%. But for games like JP ones are SOOO CHEAP I LOVE IT THAN EN.
As someone who buys frequently in and from Japan ... this packaging is quite normal :D

If your in Canada, the Fedex shipping is not only cheaper then most all the options usually, but it comes in TWO DAYS... i had like a six gameboy / two plushes and the shipping was about 30 CAD and about 20 in customs fees. They were all very cheap as they were "junk" and i fixed all of them
Yeah it was 2ish days from the time that the package started moving! I think it only took a week because I paid the shipping at the start of lunar new year weekend
I used Sendico a lot in the past year. I love this service, but I also agree that some fees and the incorrect weight can cause confusion. But still, I go back to buy items I personally want to get, because sometimes, the prices you can find there are insane, in a good way I mean :) . Just one example: I bought a Horizon Zero Dawn Prime 1 Studios statue. It was in a big and heavy box and after the shipping, paying VAT and taxes, and other fees, I was still at around 40% below the original MSRP price+ shipping+ VAT, etc!
I spent a lot of time to figure out how that market is working and I have to say, if you know the correct keywords, you can find crazy cheap items, compared to eBay!

Maybe the Hello Kitty GBP was a couple of sisters got one each and their numbers were sequential, and they accidentally swapped the boxes

One thing I had to be wary of when shipping to the UK is customs charges, so it's cool that you can keep you purchases in the warehouse and consolidate them later in order to avoid paying even more fees. It's actually worth creating multiple parcels to be sent over rather than having one that exceeds £135. Also, I bought the listing you highlighted at 5:29!

@@JakeSimmons I had to have it when I saw it. I used the copy of Pokémon Crystal to do a chip-swap so I had the English ROM chip on the cool Japanese cart. One thing about the teal GBC is that the battery door is broken, so it just falls off. The Pocket has inconsistent power and the red GBC has corrosion, so I'll be having fun fixing those 😅
I'm curious what happens if you don't get the premium packaging. For example I bought a ps2 and the listing on mercari says they pack it nicely. So I'm curious if I do the premium packaging if all they're doing is give it a thicker and heavier box which could make or break shipping costs. Because of this I'm waiting for a few more items to hit the warehouse. I played with the shipping calculator, and I'm going to leave a comment on the box dimensions to find out just how accurate the calculator is.
About the hello Kitty gameboy, i also bought one from Japan and the serial numbers should match. In my case they do match!

Nice vid. What about import tax? Should’t this be part of the costs? Asking because in Europe it would be huge and probably calculated by the fedex on the way. Maybe in US the situation is different (just curious, not working for customs office)
I didn’t have to pay customs. For the US it’s a much higher threshold to hit
I used Buyee to buy some PS Vitas and I haven't had any issues. Although shipping does make it more expensive. Good video though

I've used sendico for a few years now and have had a great experience. I use it to buy more unique items and japanese exclusives and lastly broken gameboy/ds/3ds lots

I ordered from Sendico last week, yet my items are still in their warehouse after nearly a week! Do I need to do anything before I can get my items delivered to my home here in Britain? I haven’t been given a “pay extra” or anything notification, what should I do? Thanks
If they are all in the warehouse, you need to consolidate the packages into one and then pay for shipping to you

I live in Japan and use mercari a lot. Shipping is included, so i don't know why you get charged for that😕

I got all the pokemon gen 3 GBA games for 40€ and a steal GBA SP Pearl Green (my grail colorway) in amazing condition for 40€. I really think its worth it even if the international shipping is expensive because u can get items in the EU that u cant find elsewhere

The main reason to use sendico is a easy way to get good deals on Japan exclusive and obscure things.
From someone who has purchased many things from yahoo auctions over the years (car parts and retro game stuff) I feel like I had a much better experience with buyee than you did with sendico. However, this may be anecdotal.
I think I will be trying buyee next, but I also feel like it’ll be a little biased now because I didn’t have any expectations going into this and now I will when I try the other places. Either way, I want to find the best place
Kinda getting into refurbishing old consoles and started with GBA. Anyone have any tips or information on the dos and donts.
I’ve seen plenty of refurbishing videos and I fixed a gba sp myself one thing to keep in mind is to always make sure you put in the correct screws back and not get them mixed up when you put it back together otherwise you’ll break the shell. Another tip is isopropanol alcohol is your best friend and few common issues are usually just the console being dirty so get a old toothbrush and cutips and get to cleaning especially the power switch volume switch and button contacts and membranes and always be careful of the ribbon cable for the screen and that they are smaller than they look in videos. When I fixed my sp I was honestly shocked not expecting it to be smaller than I thought it would be

@NathansEntertainment the weight of the box was 10kg, it had 3 nintendo wii consoles in it, plus some other stuff like handhelds. the box was standard box size (idk the dimensions it didn't look too big) but yea home consoles are HEAVY and will mark up your price a LOT
