    Thanks for the video! Just did this on the wife’s crf250r with great results. One thing I did was once I removed the cover I installed the foam seat back on the bike, made cutting it and sanding it so much easier. Plus it gave me an excuse to wash the bike after, thanks!

    Thanks for a great video Adam! I'm a 5'5" man and always have a problem with the bikes being too tall. This has caused many crashes when I need to step down on the low side of the trail! I've been riding for 45+ years! Going to try this on my XR200.

    5'4" woman here. Kx250 not short chick friendly, like all full size bikes. We softened the suspension. Already better that way. I'm hoping taking 2 inches from the seat gets me where I need. I have watched a few videos and you're has been the best so far. Thank you for the details and proper tools.

    Thanks for the information! I found 2 things that helped a lot: an electric filet knife, which has a sharper blade than a carving knife, made cutting foam easier, and also an air stapler was required to drive the staples into my seat pan. The air stapler also had a little nose which made stapling into an inside curve much easier. $30 on Amazon.

    The shaved seat looks great! Thanks for the video. My goal is to fit my 5' 4" wife to a 2006 YZ250. I'm reading about the lowering link, and front fork shortening too, but others are quick to comment that this "ruins" the bike. Adam would you care to comment regarding lowering the suspension too? How about lowering the suspension a little bit? My wife will trail ride. She will rarely get the wheels of the ground. Or would a TTR-125 be a better bike for her? TTR weight = 195lb. 2006 YZ250F = 206lb.

      Tim Kuitems you said yz250 is it a 250f or a yz250 .....im 6 fot and had to just lower my yz250 by unloading rear spring .....5 foot 4 is gonna be a stretch .....what about the kx 100 2 stroke i kinda like thse small bikes they got enough power too .....i got sport legs and got tired of throwing leg over seat now its sweet

      Omg I'm a 5' 4" woman and I died laughing. "Better off trading the wife for a taller one" lol 😆 😂 I'm rolling. In realness, I have a kx 250 so I have the same struggles. Doing the seat. Already softened suspension. Might have to do a link kit. We will see. I'd be happy to get the balls of my feet flat. I had to for my ninja street bike. I was never flat footed as you should be with street. It was a light bike so I was good. Dirt bike being lighter, I'm hoping I can as least touch that much.

    gotta do what u gotta do but when u lower the seat ur causing the rider (when they're short already) to haveta extend their arms upward toward the bars instead of being up above the front end and being able to have a attack/guard stance so even tho now he can stop and put his feet down and not fall over i think its easier to just teach yourself to ride that way instead of making the modification but of course yoru skill level and your intentions are going to make a big difference. thats my 2 cents but good video and

  • @ow-my-achilles1106
    @ow-my-achilles1106 8 лет назад

    Just buy a TW200 and you're all set. 31 inch seat height.
    If you need it lower, then pay$$$ for anew rear shock rebuild and lower the fork in the clamps, and get a seat with a little less padding but firmer foam!!!
    You can get it down to about 28 inches seat height and still have all whopping 6 inches of travel.
