Hoping for a long shot answer from somebody here. When I was trying out the different functions on the watch, I noticed that when going to change from ST (standard time ) to DST ( daylight saving time ) and back again, I noticed that the pointer hand was set at ‘auto’. When the lower right hand button was pressed, after pulling out the crown once, I was able to toggle between ST and DST then back again no probs. But I cannot get back to the Auto setting, it just keeps toggling between ST and DST. Does anybody have any idea on how to get back to Auto ? I’ve been through the online instructions, and while Auto gets mentioned in the DST adjustment sections, it does not say how to set it to Auto. An answer would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
I believe they have this model at the shop I borrowed it from still. If so I'll try and see if I can help. I'll pin this comment though so it's easier for someone to see in the meantime.
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces cheers for the reply. I think I have found the answer. Within the full online instructions for the 5x53 movement it says-- Auto is set when your watch successfully adjusts the time zone in a region that has adopted DST The basic time automatically changes due to your watch adapting to the implementation of DST for the time zone / region set for the main dial. So there we have the answer. My watch must have been set up when produced while DST was active in that region, which would explain why it was at Auto when I started to play around to get used to setting the watch. Thanks for your reply and offer of help. I hope this info helps others and hopefully saved yourself some time as well trying to figure it out. Thanks again and keep those videos coming 👍
Just got this watch. It is absolutely gorgeous. There’s immense depth on the dial which allows the character of the features to really pop. Like a relief map. The light play is awesome through the extremely clear crystal. Normally, I would have preferred less whimsical watch hands, but they totally work here. The watch looks substantive, elegant, and playful all at the same time. Definitely the most interesting watch I’ve handled so far. And one I find myself ogling much more than the others I’ve had.
That's so cool! I was so impressed. The dial is amazing but also the case design and finish work. Just a great watch all around. Congrats, I'm hoping to join the Astron owners club myself soon.
What a beautiful timepiece. So much detail in the dial when you do thebmicro shots. Love the ceramic bezel, it really sets off the watch with that rich blue color. Thanks Bob.
Seiko Astron is a watch I got an itch for watching Japan y/t video's, got the sbxc003 5x titanium and I was so impressed with the features and the finishing of the watch which look's like a tool watch in my eye I got the sbxc019 5x all stainless and I pretty much wear them over my mechanical's, these Astron's are made in the same factory as G/S and these are Amazing Time piece's. Great review, wish there were more on the Astron
I'm kind of surprised there isn't more people showcasing them here on RUclips. They're amazing watches. I will definitely be adding one to my collection sometime soon. Thanks and enjoy yours!
Hi Alex, for me I love the titanium sbxc003, it wear's so comfortable on wrist, not as blingey , or with the weight of the sbxc019, both have beautiful finish on the case's. My everyday is the titanium, I love it, it just seem's to melt into my wrist, both are beautifle multi function timepiece's, accuracy is unreal, amazing, hope this help's your decision, I don't even wear my mechanical's any more, that's how I feel about the Astron. @@alexandernadolinski7505
Bob, I did the same and now have 5 quartz watches in my collection. It's great to have some pieces that you can just pick up and go. My favourite is my SS Bulova curve chrono. Great vid as usual.👍
I have a couple grab and go quartz too that I love. The Curv is a really cool watch. I had one a couple years back. I'd love to get one again. Neat watch and really comfortable too. Thanks.
gorgeous watch. The finishing is very high quality and upscale. For your next quartz watch how about a Sinn UX. Mine is the most accurate quartz movement I have ever owned. This Astron is the most desirable model I have seen yet
Thanks for the informative review on the limited edition Astron. I think a good quartz to add to the collection would be the Longines very-high precision (VHP) Conquest. I'm not just saying that because I'll be doing a review on one shortly, lol
Nice looking watch; great case shape with the dramatic lug shapes, nice handset, dial color and layout is clean, however at a quick glance I would think it was a Citizen Eco-drive time piece. But definitely a good offering from Seiko. I have never had an Astron model in my collection.
Oh man, oh man! Just bought a prospex LX and now this thing gets me! Then on top of that you talk about 'a great one two collection'. How am I going to justify purchasing two very expensive Seikos within a few months? Is this an addiction?
Interesting. I bought my 100th. year Anniversary SAST100 Kintaro Hattori Astron when it was introduced New. Now there is a 140th. Year? Those last 40 years went by real quick. Like, less than 10 Years???
I’d hope the seiko has better quality control at that price point. The seconds hand isn’t even perfectly lined up to the ticks. I love this watch. It’s on my bucket list of watches I want in my life, and there’s only 3 on that list. My current citizen e660, a Rolex date just, and the seiko astron. But seiko is killing me with the poor quality control…
IS THIS LIMITED TO HOW MANY SEIKO COULD PRODUCE IN A PERION OF TIME OR WAS THERE SET NUMBER OF PEICES PRODUCED. CAN'T FINE ANY NUMBERS. I HAVE A ASTRON XBXY005. 245 OF 500.

Thanks for the video. I have the Oceanus T2600 and the Citizen AT8181 and both are comparable to the Astron.
Nice. I picked up the oceanus ocw-t3000 recently and love it. Thanks!

Unfortunately it is an addiction a least for me. The LX is such a cool watch. I'd love to have both too someday. Thanks :)
Very nice watch not available now
Love the new Tee Bob, looks good 👍🏻. The watch is rather unique looking. 😷🇨🇦
Thanks. It was a Father's Day gift 😁👍

I've had a pretty good experience with qc on their higher end watches but there definitely is occasional alignment issues.

A Quartz sub collection should include a Bulova Lunar Pilot. Classic watch, great price, and moon provenance.
Good recommendation for sure. I had one a couple years back and let it go but I'd really like to get one again. Thanks.
Do you recommend this or the titanium?
I actually didn't realize there was a titanium option. I'll have to look it up.
Foo Fighters for the win, Best T of the Day!
Thanks for the shoutout!
Thanks man! Actually got it as part of a Father's day gift yesterday 😁👍
Is this the titanium watch ?
Thanks
This one is stainless steel.
Does this watch also sync the correct date from the satellite?
Yes it does. Thanks for watching.
Another great video brother! #seikoforlife
Thanks so much Miguel 👊
Where to buy that one ?
Depends on your location but the shop I work at in Toronto has one. You can find it at GemBijou.com.
