Tho theories and ideas be goin in as imagine if vegeta was alive along wit gohan perhaps they could’ve won maybe maybe not, it’s def interesting to wonder about. Buh man future gohan death truly sum else.
I just thought about something, when Trunks becomes SSJ, it’s treated with such an incredible weight. At first it feels like the tables are turning until Trunks tries to throw hands with the Androids and nearly dies but gets rescued. Although we do get a satisfying resolution at the end of the Cell saga, it shows that even though Trunks achieved the SSJ form and probably trained during that time skip, without time travel and training with the proper resources, he would’ve been cooked and the earth would be doomed.
I think Toriyama’s whole point of Gohan’s death was to show the passing of the torch. In the past timeline, Goku passed the torch to Gohan to save the world. In the future timeline, Future Gohan passed the torch to Future Trunks to save the world.
1. Future Gohan’s Death. 2. Piccolo’s death in GT. 3. Bulma’s death in the Goku Black arc. 4. Goku’s death in the Cell Games. 5. Goku’s death in GT. 6. Angry trucker death after Vegeta blew him up fighting Android 18.
i just realized. 17 n 18 killed literally children. not just teens or adults. not just animals and plants. literally kids. how long have these two sunk into their own power.
Another amazing thing is Future Gohan feels like a progression of Gohan, in some media that deals with Future and Past conecting a character in both times either feels the exact same or so diferent that feels weird him being that way without a proper explanation, Gohan for me is middle ground because it feels Gohan but It makes sense why he feels diferent and the animations made him a good character in a special of less than 2 hours
honestly future gohan had it rough the most out of all the z characters (yes even vegeta since he eventually recovered past his trauma…) dude was forced to fight throughout all of his life without the amount of peacetime that his present self had… as for the video itself, its really sad that some of the death feels nothing when we look at krillin (present), any of the people dying on earth (present), and anything with buu or anything like that since the dragon balls are here to fix everything and thankfully we see some deaths that mean something
Hey have you ever played dokkan cuz right as you brought this up theres an lr about future gohan you should see the animations its pretty heartwarming. The unit in the games serves as a what if goku and picclo joined gohan in a final kamehama instead of just not helping him.
The saddest deaths in no order for me Krillin's first death in Dragon ball. Future Gohans death. Vegeta's final atonement. Piccolo's death in the sayain saga. These deaths are the ones that hit me the most for different reasons.
Crazy thing is Future Gohan and Trunks were the last two Saiyans left at that time until Gohan died leaving Trunks to be the final one. The prince’s Son 👑
My favorite character in all of Dragon Ball is probably the most tragic. Future Gohan was really cool and it hit me like a ton of bricks when he died. Kinda unfortunate he boils down to a plot point for Future Trunks' development. And yes i "enjoy" the anime adaptation way more than any other adaptation but the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot verison is probably the saddest.
The reason future timeline feels so dark is that we are used to people coming back from the dead in normal timeline. Removing that saftey is what makes it really worse
Krillins death on Namek was also pretty wild because he had already been resurrected before that and it felt like for a bit that he was never coming back
also future Gohan the death theme in dubbed Had me Bawling as a Gohan fan It felt like Someone had my heart in a choke hold the death scene still has me cryin in 2023
Isn't it technically possible that 17 and 18 got stronger over the years, too? Dragon Ball Super has shown us that just occasionally fighting regular humans gave him stupid increases in power. Maybe it wasn't just that Gohan and Trunks weren't training enough. Because they can't feel the androids, they didn't know they got stronger.
Originally they were written to not been able to get stronger; hence the infinite energy, compared to 19/20, with no infinite energy but the ability to gather energy
Another point about the rain in the scene is that when trunks finds Gohan, he starts crying but the rain blends in with the tears that you barely notice it
I'd have to say, Future Gohans death and Vegetas death in the Buu saga are the 2 saddest deaths in the franchise even though Vegeta does return. It really showed a turning point in his character and that he's fighting for others for once.
I think Kakarot really amplified this scene to make it much more saddening. In the end I knew Gohan was going to die, but him fighting the Androids again and seeing all of the vigor he had the whole fight just disappear and the Androids just slowly beat the crap out of you just makes the scene all more worse. I think what really hits home is knowing you can’t win but you still fight.
The most depressing thing is that dragon ball story whithout the time travel is supposed to end with the death of all the z fighters and also trunks who is killed by cell, so all the saiyan are eradicated
I've been saying we need a 12 or 24 episode series of this timeline. That's 13 years of canon story that they could tell. What Gohan went through growing up would be great. Maybe he could run into that timeline of Videl for a short time, his training, first super saiyan transformation. Gohan being face down in the water when Trunks finds him was way more dramatic. Much better.
And another thing, if Bulma is so smart, why didn't she take some *ahem genetic material from Gohan when he was of age of course. She or someone else could birth more fighters. At the very least they could amass a crew at some point.
Man I remember seeing this when I was young, gohan was and still my favorite character so when I seen that i got on Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and started beating the brakes off of 17 and 18 for an hour 😭😂
Been planning a dragon ball story about death. Or a villain that has the power to end the existence of a person to the point they aren’t in other world or the dragon balls can’t bring them back. They are “gone”. The villain also seeks to collect all the dragon balls to increase his power so he can end Zenos for ending his people.
Death mattered more when the dragon ball wishing rules were more strict. Like you were scared for characters like Krillin to die one more time knowing he wouldn't get another chance. So the hellhole he was in on Namek was mad intense until he horribly went out by Frieza.
I can't believe that so many people don't realize that in their first battle vegeta was clearly more powerful than goku. In his great ape form he crushed the already drained goku, but let's be honest, he really didn't even need to transform. Vegeta was in control of the fight even before this but let his rage get in the way. After rolling off goku's kamehameha beam he was still far and away in the lead as far as endurance goes. Only through a team effort, a lot of luck, and vegeta making a couple bad decisions, were our heros able to come out on top.…..
@@QaamansLand glad you ask… just thought this video was good but kind of point less for the ppl that “cried” or say that’s it’s sad that Vegeta “sacrifices” to buu or Goku doing the same with everyone else… let’s be real, death in DBZ is not emotional at all. So I decided to talk about better arguments. Death in Dragonball is as meaningless as jesus “sacrifice”. You “sacrifice” yourself to be resurrected, all chill and keep living with no repercussions what so ever.
If you haven't seen OG, watch it and don't read I'd you don't want major spoilers. Honestly, for me the saddest death was Krillin. No not on Namek, but in OG when he was killed by Tambourine. It was the first death in the show, well at least apart of the main cast, and it had wait. Yes we knew the dragon balls would work in bringing him back because of the Red Ribbon Army Arc. But we didn't think about that, we thought about this child that we see grow into becoming Goku's friend. You felt for him. And it made it even worse later in the arc when King Piccolo got his wish and you knew Krillin would have to wait even longe-- then he destroyed shenron. Hope, at least for me, was gone that we would never see Krillin again as their was no way of bringing him back. It made Goku's journey feel so earned when he got the win and three years later when Krillin finally got to thank the man who brought him back to life. All of this being in direct contrast in how the series, up until this point was, being a light hearted adventure comedy with a martial arts twist to it. Yes Future Gohan's death is truly sad, but it came at a point where we are desensitized to death in the series despite knowing that he can never be brought back without the knowledge of where new Namek is. Added to the fact that it is a different timeline, that has little to no effect on our timelines events outside of two arcs in the show. Definitely hits hard, but I don't consider it the saddest moment in the show for me.
For some reason, I feel like future Gohan would’ve won, I like that beam struggle between him, and an android, they remind me of the present Gohan, one arm against cell and defeated him.
Yes I agree Qaaman Future Gohan’s death is one of the most tragic depressing deaths in Dragonball especially since Future Gohan lived most of his life training alone and losing his dad Future Goku and his second father figure/best friend Future Piccolo and uncle figure/best friend Future Krillin. Future Gohan never got to meet Future Videl, have Goten as a brother and have Pan as a daughter. I wish we could have had Future Gohan meet Present Gohan, Goten, Videl and Pan.Those would make interesting actions. The good at the end Future Gohan’s legacy lives on through Future Trunks and Future Trunks will continue protecting his new timeline in the memory of Future Gohan who lives in his heart forever.
@@QaamansLand Yes Future Gohan’s life is depressing and it really makes me think Future Gohan could have had his ideal life just like Present Gohan achieving his dream of becoming a scholar, having Goten as a brother, having Future Videl as a wife and Pan as a daughter. I think if Future Gohan would have some pretty good interactions and would have a lot to talk about with Present Gohan, Goten, Videl and Pan.
There is kind of the lingering questions of "what the hell was Piccolo doing, why doesn't he come back for 24 hours, surely he's strong enough to kill 17 and 18 after 13 years of training in Otherworld" and "what the hell was King Kai doing, why didn't he ask the Namekians to revive Piccolo, surely he would care about Earth enough to want to ask that favour of them and surely the Namekians would want to return it." Yeah, establishing consequences in the "wish away consequences on the magic dragons" manga is going to naturally be hard to do without raising some questions. Even if we assume that Vegeta went to Hell and Goku couldn't come back because he died of a disease instead of in battle, that still raises a LOT of questions. TBH it speaks to how much better off Dragon Ball would be without its titular artifacts having the power to raise the dead. They ended up doing that better in Super with the Goku-Black arc where they establish that Black destroyed the Super Dragon Balls and killed the Namekians.
Anime and manga probably didn't show cause it wasn't what they were probably going for, but I'm kinda curious what all was going on in Gohans head. For example, if he was much more depressed then he let on to us the viewers and around other characters. Cause if he's down, that would affect Trunks and Bulma. - lost friends and both father figures. - alone with no one to help train and guide him at a young age. Till Trunks is old enough. - He may have cut off connections with his mom and only ever seen Bulma cause of Trunks. If Kakorot game is anything to go by, he lives alone in the mountains to keep the few ppl he has left safe I they ever track him down. - all that stress wondering if they'll ever get the jump on him, having to train carefully not to get their attention, having to heal the long and old fashion way, losing his arm, keeping a brave face around the few remaining ppl. Idk what Gohan was thinking, leaving behind a weaker and in experienced Trunks by himself, I almost want to say it was depression or he was just done and didn't want Trunks to get dragged in his suicide mission

It’s particularly grueling knowing what Future Gohan’s life was like before the androids. Both versions of the character were kidnapped at 3 by their uncle Raditz who wanted to force Goku to eradicate the Earthlings, both were trained hard by Piccolo and had to face the Saiyans, and both had to go to Namek to revive Piccolo and the others. But for canon Gohan, his life got better afterwards in the grand scheme of things. Yeah, he still had to somewhat deal with the android threat (really just relying on Goku to take care of that) and then had to face off against Cell and had his father die because of his mistake, but the world was pretty peaceful for 7 years afterwards. He got to go to high school, fall in love, graduate and pursue a career as a scholar, and have a family. Future Gohan’s life only got worse after Namek, as his father died much earlier on, all his closest friends and Allies got killed, had to train for who knows how long to obtain Super Saiyan while most of the Earth got obliterated and he couldn’t do anything about it, had to become a mentor to the only other person who had any hope of beating the androids, and either went out sad (manga) or like a hero (anime). Outside of the first few years of his life which he definitely didn’t remember, his life was hell.
I wonder do Dragon Balls still work if they are in a different timeline then the 1 they are created in? What is stopping Trunks from going back in time and asking the Z Warriors from borrowing there Dragon Balls for 5 minutes.
I personally feel like the anime death was better especially with the whole fight being a lot more even because it makes it feel like gohans death is a much bigger loss than in the anime. Seeing as after watching that fight and trunks’s statements about him being able to keep up with one Android in the show proper it’s like they were just a hairs breath away from winking before it got cruelly snatched away. Plus gohans sacrifice being what pushes trunks into transforming during the rain is golden. Also I kinda like it when a character with a disability shows themselves to be a badass, future gohan and guts would probably be best buds
I agree because in manga 17 said: "Not bad but just so you know, i was almost using my 50% last time" and in the anime 17 and 18 went like: "Okay, we need to take him down for good"

A tear jerker for sure!
honestly future gohan had it rough the most out of all the z characters (yes even vegeta since he eventually recovered past his trauma…) dude was forced to fight throughout all of his life without the amount of peacetime that his present self had…
as for the video itself, its really sad that some of the death feels nothing when we look at krillin (present), any of the people dying on earth (present), and anything with buu or anything like that since the dragon balls are here to fix everything and thankfully we see some deaths that mean something
I can 100% agree that this is the saddest death in the series. And Future Trunks is a highlight of the series
Great commentary, man. I can tell you dug deep to get every nuance out of this topic
Thanks. After reading all of your comments I actually thought of new stuff
@@QaamansLand my comments? Lol or you mean the audience in general 😂
Love your video qaaman very enjoyable ❤❤❤
Absolute banger of a vid
Hey have you ever played dokkan cuz right as you brought this up theres an lr about future gohan you should see the animations its pretty heartwarming. The unit in the games serves as a what if goku and picclo joined gohan in a final kamehama instead of just not helping him.
No but several of you have pointed this out. I uploaded this video because it was a sad video in theme with September 11th. It's just a coincidence.
@@QaamansLand oh, well have you seen the video game animations at least?
The saddest deaths in no order for me
Krillin's first death in Dragon ball.
Future Gohans death.
Vegeta's final atonement.
Piccolo's death in the sayain saga.
These deaths are the ones that hit me the most for different reasons.
Not Piccolos death in GT? Sheesh.
@@SRT_DRE Nope just didn't feel sad.
@@Xlen-omega you clearly forget about many deaths in the DS series if Piccolo’s death in the Saiyan Saga is in your top 4 😭😂
@@SRT_DRE His death in the sayain saga had better build up. Coming off original Dragon ball.
@@Xlen-omega better build up? Piccolo wasn’t even a fan favorite at that time. He was a bad guy before Raditz showed up and he died in the same arc.
Crazy thing is Future Gohan and Trunks were the last two Saiyans left at that time until Gohan died leaving Trunks to be the final one. The prince’s Son 👑
“His emotions is a gift” so true, maybe that’s the essence of beast Gohan
Beast gohan is dogshit
My favorite character in all of Dragon Ball is probably the most tragic. Future Gohan was really cool and it hit me like a ton of bricks when he died. Kinda unfortunate he boils down to a plot point for Future Trunks' development. And yes i "enjoy" the anime adaptation way more than any other adaptation but the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot verison is probably the saddest.
The reason future timeline feels so dark is that we are used to people coming back from the dead in normal timeline. Removing that saftey is what makes it really worse
Krillins death on Namek was also pretty wild because he had already been resurrected before that and it felt like for a bit that he was never coming back
8:29 We’re just going to ignore that transition?🔥🔥🔥🌊🌊🧊
I don't follow your comment. What about it?
@@QaamansLand I’m saying when Gohan rolls and then it cuts to 17 rolling into a kick so smoothly. That goes hard🔥🔥🔥🔥
also future Gohan the death theme in dubbed Had me Bawling as a Gohan fan It felt like Someone had my heart in a choke hold the death scene still has me cryin in 2023
That's why the comment section is awesome. I forget details too.
Originally they were written to not been able to get stronger; hence the infinite energy, compared to 19/20, with no infinite energy but the ability to gather energy
...and then the next scene is an Eye-Catch of Baby Trunk Crying and Little Gohan looking at him like "WTF is your problem?"
rest in pepperoni gohan
Huh?
Another point about the rain in the scene is that when trunks finds Gohan, he starts crying but the rain blends in with the tears that you barely notice it
That's tough, Qaaman. I was in shock when Kuririn got killed by Tambourine. Buddy went to collect Goku's stuff and never came back. That was brutal.
The future timeline is a stark reminder of how screwed everyone would be if death was permanent in this franchise
I'd have to say, Future Gohans death and Vegetas death in the Buu saga are the 2 saddest deaths in the franchise even though Vegeta does return. It really showed a turning point in his character and that he's fighting for others for once.
To me the saddest death was Vegeta's against Buu. It was the ultimate moment of character development, and in the end, it accomplished nothing.
Yes this was one of the most depressing things in anime history.
Rip to future Gohan and entire universe and other world 😮😢
The most depressing thing is that dragon ball story whithout the time travel is supposed to end with the death of all the z fighters and also trunks who is killed by cell, so all the saiyan are eradicated
RIP future gohan 😢🙏🏼
I never really felt sad when goku died to Raditz mainly because i never had read or scene dragon ball untill later on
Future Gohan’s death was one of the saddest deaths in dragonball
I've been saying we need a 12 or 24 episode series of this timeline. That's 13 years of canon story that they could tell. What Gohan went through growing up would be great. Maybe he could run into that timeline of Videl for a short time, his training, first super saiyan transformation. Gohan being face down in the water when Trunks finds him was way more dramatic. Much better.
Agreed
Indeed the saddest Dragon Ball death
Love the History of Trunks tv special
Reason?
@@QaamansLand because of Gohan vs 17 fight
Dam this is sad, I'm gonna watch when Future Trunks kills the andriods after this lol
What is sad specifically?
correct title : "giving future gohan a blow*"
Huh?
I can't believe that so many people don't realize that in their first battle vegeta was clearly more powerful than goku. In his great ape form he crushed the already drained goku, but let's be honest, he really didn't even need to transform. Vegeta was in control of the fight even before this but let his rage get in the way. After rolling off goku's kamehameha beam he was still far and away in the lead as far as endurance goes. Only through a team effort, a lot of luck, and vegeta making a couple bad decisions, were our heros able to come out on top.…..
What does this have to do with this video?
@@QaamansLand glad you ask… just thought this video was good but kind of point less for the ppl that “cried” or say that’s it’s sad that Vegeta “sacrifices” to buu or Goku doing the same with everyone else… let’s be real, death in DBZ is not emotional at all.
So I decided to talk about better arguments. Death in Dragonball is as meaningless as jesus “sacrifice”. You “sacrifice” yourself to be resurrected, all chill and keep living with no repercussions what so ever.
Him picking up gohan lifeless body made me almost cry.
Qaaman here today! 🤩
this is 10 min of me trying not to cry for my boi
I’d say some contenders were also deaths like Krillin from the DKP arc, Goku from the Cell arc and maybe Tien from the Saiyan arc
Imagine future gohan meeting present gohan. Blue would cry seeing himself happy like that.
Blue?
Damn, your comment made me think about more points I could have said...
There is kind of the lingering questions of "what the hell was Piccolo doing, why doesn't he come back for 24 hours, surely he's strong enough to kill 17 and 18 after 13 years of training in Otherworld" and "what the hell was King Kai doing, why didn't he ask the Namekians to revive Piccolo, surely he would care about Earth enough to want to ask that favour of them and surely the Namekians would want to return it."
Yeah, establishing consequences in the "wish away consequences on the magic dragons" manga is going to naturally be hard to do without raising some questions.
Real question, do you time these for what's happening in the fandom? Like this is actually insanely perfect timing for what's happening in dokkan and what happened semi-recently in DBH
Nah I did it because of september 11th being a sad day

the og future gohan is dead but in the otherworld, the gohan from future trunks's timeline sadly got erased. We don't know if zeno erased the OG timeline u7 or not.
my saddest death in all of dragonball z was vegetas finale attonment in the buu saga even through they bring him back it was a kind redemption for the character and to see he did everything he could stop majin buu was amazing
Vegeta nooo
VEGETA YEESSSS
I’d probably say future gohan tbh,but then again king kai could’ve easily helped revive him.
When rules and logic don’t make since in their own universe it’s not good
It’s particularly grueling knowing what Future Gohan’s life was like before the androids.
You forgot losing his arm. How would you edit that into your original comment?
GOHAANNNNNN!
He also became the first character to die by kei spam
this timeline could be a anime itself
R.I.P Future Gohan . . .
fun fact gohan drowned in that puddle after being knocked out by the androids.
I remember when I was little I could not grasp the fact that Mr. Popo didn’t grab Gohan and Trunks to train in the chamber.
He's dead.
GT played hard when making the “future consequences” of over using the dragonballs.
What happened to the Kai's in his world? Unless I missed something 🤷🏿♂️
I might be wrong but didn't shenron say that you can only revive a person once??
I agree because in manga 17 said: "Not bad but just so you know, i was almost using my 50% last time" and in the anime 17 and 18 went like: "Okay, we need to take him down for good"
Puddlehan went off by ki blast spam in drsgon ball
future gohan didnt have as much plot armor as current gohan 😭
How old was high school gohan compared to future adult gohan?
Depending on the anime vs manga it ranges between 16-18 ( so future Gohan is 5-7 years older )
