Facts if this Gohan trained like goku he'd suppress him in no time either ssj2 Gohan is my fav from the kid version or future for sure
To all the people saying gohan should of spared 17, you have to remember as fans we know 17 and 18 are redeemable but this gohan was terrorised by them and literally died to them, he finally defeated cell and was not going to risk anything. I like that the author did that. Shows that's gohan is more decisive due to living in fear all his life.
Also, people forget that the androids from this timeline were different than the reformed past androids.These actually were evil, and were not acting under coercion...they did everything for thrills and pleasure.
The ones in the past timeline were more blank slates than anything else, and could've gone either way, while the ones in the future immediately started mass destruction and relished in it for over 7 years.
And simply put, actions have consequences. 17 earned his long ago.

Oh aye. The Androids in the past, beyond defending themselves and hunting down Goku, actually were pretty chilled and didn't seem to want to do anything too harmful, largely doing little things here and there. The future Androids had casually terrorised the entire earth for 20 years. 17 reaching out was merely to show how pitiful he was; he didn't offer the hand out of compassion but because he was desperate. If he had wanted any of those things, that particular moment really wasn't the best time to do so. XD

Seeing Gohan do a one armed kamehameha to finish off cell was a really nice touch, and I was really happy to see him obliterate 17 as well.

I really appreciate this more mature, decisive Gohan. He doesn't toy with Cell at all. He's cautious, feeling out Cell's abilities and fighting conservatively, but as soon as he knows he can, he wastes no time finishing off Cell.
He toyed with Cell, last chapter he did just that.

Yeah, I especially loved how Gohan didn't have any seconds thoughts about killing 17, I especially loved Gohan getting so Angry that he turned super saiyan 2, showed 17 how outclassed he was.

It's fairly understandable why Future Gohan did not hesitate to finish off Android 17. Both 17 and 18 tormented him for years since he was a kid, his friends were brutally murdered in front of him by their hands and they slaughtered millions of people across the world.
Unlike the ones we are already familiar with, these versions were pure evil and have no redeeming qualities.

like how gohan is really logical about combat he's sort of a cross between vegeta and goku, goku doesn't necessarily want to kill anyone just fight but will kill if he has to, if someone insults vegeta or threatens his family he will kill them without hesitation, meanwhile gohan doesn't want to kill but will him if he deems it necessary for the safety of others and will do it without hesitation just like vegeta with no remorse.

What A Great Episode! I was absolutely shocked by Gohan and his choice to kill 17. The way it was portrayed was brilliant. He got so angry from 17's words he burst into Super Saiyan 2 on the spot!

While the timing doesn't work, as a thought experiment, let's say the androids survived and teamed up with Gohan and Trunks when Cell arrived, do you think they would've been able to take him as a team? In this scenario, Gohan has one arm and it's the day before Trunks was set to return to the past for the second time.
If they genuinely work together maybe a 50/50 shot, but if its some half ass alliance then 17 and 18 finna get absorbed being cocky

He was in the History of Trunks special too, so it feels fitting. If anything, he may have even cooled off a bit since he last fought the androids.
Gohan using one arm Kamehemah against Cell was playing homage to the original way his present self killed Cell. Freaking epic

This chapter was amazing! Love how this manga doesn’t break out of Future Gohan’s actual character. Total savage (can’t blame him) for not giving a damn about 17 wanting a second chance at life, Gohan here has surpassed Goku since we all know Goku would have likely just healed him. Finally! The Gohan we deserved. This fan manga has a lot of potential. I am curious to see how the Majin Buu saga/Goku Black arch will be from this point of view
I don’t think black is happening since Goku is dead in the past so he won’t get body scratched. Plus no one’s where Namek is in that time and too busy having fun in other world tournaments
With buu it will probably play out a bit better. Since Goku and z fighters have been training. With Berus though about the same.

Definitely isn’t the Gohan we know now in the main timeline,this version had truly grown into a full-fledged warrior that will not give his enemies the benefit of the doubt & cut them down without a blink.
Gohan didn't have to go ss2 on 17, but he did it to make him feel like everyone else he killed. Powerless. Maybe 17 would've made a great ally like canon 17, but he was unworthy of redemption. I liked this fan manga.
The irony in that, is 17 and 18 can’t sense energy or be sensed themselves but going ss2 definitely still gives that intimidation factor regardless

17's sob story is irrelevant, nobody forced them to kill humans for fun after they killed their creator and were essentially free.
And what makes Gohan any better? he's not a genocidal cyborg that killed close to 6 billion people (Earth's stated population in DBZ)...thats what.
If it wasn't for cell these androids would have wiped out the earth's population in its entirety.
These androids are NOT like the ones in the other timeline so there is nothing complex or morally wrong about killing them.

@@arcadius3257 exactly, they were turned into killing machines and after future Goku was dead, Gero basically reprogrammed them for world dominance instead they killed him and turned the world into their own big playground which means that they did have some free will and you have to realize that they've also killed a bunch children in the history of trunks off screen for their own amusement
@Luis Suazo can you explain why you disagree? Gohan doesn’t have the hindsight of the previous timeline. All he knows is that the androids have committed the worst genocide humanity has ever known and are now asking for mercy when they aren’t the most powerful. How can Gohan be sure that 17 won’t go back to killing after he dies of natural causes? If Hitler begged for mercy in front of a court of law do you think he would of been granted it? And Hitler is definitely better than these androids. Albeit not much better but still better. Someone like Batman might spare 17 but other than that no one else is.
This was really well done. As ever love the zest with bringing these stories to life. Almost gives me vibes as though I'm watching the anime. As can be expected this Cell wasn't challenged by anything and inevitably it would do more harm than good. What was the point in getting stronger if nothing would challenge him? He just didn't imagine the day. The Cell that raided the main timeline had been challenged in each form. He had to find ways around each one. Sure Imperfect Cell ultimately eclipsed Piccolo (after absorbing all those people) but in their 1st fight Piccolo did manage to put up a good fight and almost certainly would have gave him more bother if he'd gotten to fight without the weighted clothing had Cell not run off. Then there was Android 16 who was still his equal till he became Semi-Perfect etc At one point in DBZ 16 was actually the most powerful on earth. Imagine how badly Imperfect Cell would've gotten thrashed by him if he didn't absorb all those people. Cells lucky he didn't meet him first.

I like 17 and 18 but I don't even blame Gohan. He probably saw trunks cradle his dead body in the afterlife and saw every ass beating 17 and 18 gave him and humanity. Plus he practically lived through seeing his friends getting killed.
I wonder if goten and future Gohan will actually meet later on and what about the short king, Krillin?
I feel like the death of 17 is worth discussion here. To me, Gohan only knew the androids as heartless monsters who for years destroyed cities and took countless lives for their own amusement, so when he finally has the power to end such threats once and for all, he takes an understandable path. Many of us think 17 should have been spared mostly due to the events of Dragon Ball Super, but there’s no telling if 17 here was being honest and if he was, then he still needed to pay for the years of suffering he & 18 caused to so many innocence. I love 17’s character in DBS, but I understand Gohan’s choice given his once seemingly hopeless situation and can’t blame the warrior from destroying a threat to his future. You could still say that due to Gohan’s immense power, 17 wouldn’t be foolish enough to try anything and that’s an understandable argument given Goku’s stance on situations like this. 17 could have changed or perhaps, he would have continued to kill on a smaller scale with no knowledge that his actions could be sensed. It’s really up to your own views since this is an interesting discussion this fan manga has (knowingly or unknowingly) created for us. It’s something I personally enjoyed sharing my thoughts on and I’m glad others are as well.
Trunks killed them too in the future despite knowing the fact the ones from the past were not that « bad » because his friends spared them and even asked shenron to remove their bombs.
No one expects or even talks about sparing the future androids to Trunks.
Actually it’s quite the opposite that happens when before leaving the lookout, Tenshinhan tells Trunks « you are now strong enough to get rid of the androids in your future »

Guys, don’t feel bad for Android 17. Remember, these androids were pure evil compared to their past versions. He wasn’t pleading because he “seen the error of his ways”, it was simply out of fear and self-preservation. He sensed Gohan’s power and even felt it physically while still absorbed in cell. He knew he was completely outmatched and powerless so he tried the only option available to get of the situation. If the tables were turned we’d be seeing him torturing and brutalizing Gohan. No sympathy felt for those demons.

Yeah. Vegeta also didn't even achieve Super Sayian in his life and his spirit would've been broken down in the next life if following the manga, so wishing for him back wouldn't have changed anything given he wouldn't have been able to change. If anything, Freiza coming back at all was the abnormally.

I think he actually did achieve super Sayian in the future but he was significantly weaker than his past counterpart due to no knowledge of the androids.

Overall solid 10/10, no 20/10 story. The only thing I would personally change is 17 being spared, but I completely understand why this decision was made. This fan manga just really understood how to write dragon ball, it’s not some edgy gore fest. But a heart felt story about triumphing through hard ship. Loved this story so much hats off to the person or persons behind this story.
17 didn't deserve to be spared. Not in the slightest. His death was honestly the best part. Cathartic af

17 and 18 being spared in the present timeline is just because no one saw the evil they were capable of. In that timeline they proved that they could be genuine people. However in this timeline they’ve been killing for years with no mercy. People begged just like he did and he ignored them all the same. And now once he’s not the top dog he wants mercy. He and his sister committed genocide essentially. There was no way Gohan would spare him even if he 100% believed he would have a peaceful life. Maybe the present timeline version but not this one who has tormented him his whole life.
