These Dbz games has been an exhausting to say the least. Developed Dimps and Spike and published by Bandi Namco. There's so much to these games, i couldn't cover everything plus i wanted to leave some mystery for you, when you go back and revisit them

@M3stic it definitely could be, I just hope developer spike can find a closer balance to their content/substance strategy.
@@deslex66 fact's some people are already complaining about online pvp and the split screen co-op mode but I honestly don't care for ether of those modes I just want to play the story and play as all the characters and see their abilities and skills plus the what if story mode feature seems lit
@M3stic agreed, I'll be playing it for single player content. I still remember my BT3 online experience on the wii. = complete shit show.
@@deslex66 I never played the budokai games at all but always loved how they looked I watched yt videos about them that's why I'm so excited to play this plus also I bought the ultimate edition
It won't be the best since you can only play local multiplayer on the HB Time chamber map.
I remember me and my brothers not knowing how to Ki charge in Budokai 1, it was all hands for as long as we could 🤣

I miss the non-dlc games. Hope we get a game that doesn't have DLC eventually. Would be a breath of fresh air.

there are some indie games like Hades that doesn't have any dlc so they are out there

my first fighting game on console was budukai 1.. i cant tell you the level of hype my step brother and i were feeling knowing you could actually play as your fav DBZ characters like trunks and teen gohan.. all i ever played were pizza shop arcade machine fighting games before that.. we must have played that damn game for over a thousand hours

What I'm pretty sure is the reason the Buu saga wasn't included in Budokai 1was because the game came out before the Buu saga was finished airing on Cartoon Network. (which...is weird, only because the game came out right when Kid Buu had JUST appeared and Vegeta/Goku had escaped Super Buu's body)

The reason the Buu saga wasn’t included was because Budokai was the first DB game handled by a western publisher, and was designed to cater to fans who were watching the English version of the series. The Buu saga was still airing at the time when the game released so they left it out as to not spoil things westerners haven’t seen yet.
@azuresaiyan9005 I mean, same publisher, bandi namco did DBZ Final bout which had Buu and GT characters on the original playstation in 1997. Plus as mentioned in the video, other countries box art to budokai 1 has buu and many others.
@azuresaiyan9005 you could possibly be right, but to me, that doesn't seem to add up. And within my research, I never found anything suggesting or hinting to that.

The first Final Bout us release was handled by Bandai and back when Z only started airing. The rerelease for 2004 was published by Atari after Z had ended its first run. Same with Ult battle 22.
@azuresaiyan9005 ohhhhhh, I realise you're only talking about NA. I'd forgotten that NA were the last to receive everything from games and anime, but also with what I mentioned about there being majin characters within the game and box arts. It doesn't seem like they were catering, but more so ran out of development time.

Not with that much nonsense of graphical effects in it. Just too much of everything that doesn't even make sense.
Budokai 4 was Infinite World, which was made to satiate the PS2 players who wouldn't be able to play Burst Limit (budokai reboot essentially) for the new 360 and PS3. Give them a look sometime.
So I've played IW and burst Limit. I was pretty underwhelmed by Infinite world due to almost identical to Budokai 3, a game that released 4 years earlier. That's kinda why I kept it out of this video (excluding its 1 mention and reviews) and burst limit, well. That's kind of a mixed bag with me although it's been awhile, I remember the game dragging longer than the anime. And then, we went to budokai 1 and decided to only have sayin, frezia and cell arch with most of the Z fighters taking up most of the roster. They're not bad games, just yeahhhh
@deslex66 no worries man! I agree with you. IW is weird because sometimes I wanna play that, or B3. And poor Burst Limit was just so boring and dragging as you said. The drama pieces interrupting everything during the fight was so annoying.
Care to explain why you were underwhelmed by Infinite World?
@EWOODJ I felt like it didn't change enough to B3 especially having a 4 year gap. Infinite world all in all, was just a balance update. Although i will state that IW has a better multiplayer. Also the use of minigames within IW just fell flat and kinda sucked. The Best thing IW did was remove Dragon Rush since it was broken within B3. I wish IW removed the random fusions that Dimps incorporated but whatever. Also the removal of beam struggles was a odd choice. But i guess, they fixed the Capsule System in IW.

Naw not Budokai 3 remake. That game was awful man just remake infinite world. Budokai 3 had a terrible story, terrible combat due to the fatigue, dragon rush and hyper mode.

I still miss Budokai 1s artstyle on PS2. I love it so much. By the way this Video would be qualitatively better if you would keep the 4:3 aspect ratio of the games like it should be. It looks bad in widescreen and never was the intention to force it to 16:9, at times it even hurts. Use a good widescreen patch if you want to do that.
Despite all the DBZ games that have come out over the years, BT1 has the most badass and authentic Intro of all of DBZ games of the Franchise. BT2 and BT3 in my opinion still remains the most Unique and the best DBZ games in terms of content, quality and fanservices. And from the gameplay perspective aspects, these DBZ games that I mentioned are very close to the anime itself because of the Vibe and Charm, I don't know how to describe it but it was, and still is the most Unique DBZ experience you could have with the combat factor. (- Sheer amount de of characters
- Transformations mid-battle (powering up and down)
- Fusions mid-battle
- Fast gameplay that has that "woah" feel
- Tons of extra content
- Story mode covering all sagas + movies
- What If sagas
- Shenron having permanent impact on game (character unlocks and whatnot)
- Great tournaments that rotate availability
- Edit characters with items (buffs)
- 5v5 battles
- Really Great and Epic Soundtracks
- Destroyable environments
- Entire stages could be blown up into their "destroyed" alternatives
- Mission 100 being a great challenge
- Artwork is 10/10
- Sound effects are great
- Combat feels heavy and satisfying) Only Budokai 3, Infinite World and the Raging Blast 1 and 2 and all of PSP DBZ games except of Dragon Ball Z Evolution are still considered also very solid DBZ games, also the hidden gem that a lot of DBZ fans missed from PS2 Era of DBZ games is "Super Dragon Ball Z" which is also a real Unique and DBZ game, especially for the different gameplay aspects perspective.
@DavidLucian I'm so confused why infinite world is considered good. Obviously, it's not going to be bad since it's a carbon copy of B3, but it is the same only released 4 years later, and it has less content. The only thing that was good in infinite world was the balancing changes.
@@deslex66 In my opinion DBZ Infinite World is a step up in the right direction from DBZ Budokai 3 in fighting mechanics apart of the removal of beam struggle. But other than that Infinite World is essentially better than Budokai 3 because we get a few more characters in the overall roster and the gameplay it's more versatile and fast-paced, the only complain about Infinite World it's the removal of the Tournament Mode.
Have you ever seen competitive Budokai? I think you should give it a watch before judging the gameplay as a whole, even tho I appreciate the POV of a more casual player

@mourossonero competitive Budokai Tenkaichi has never interested me. But my comments in this video were from talking to those that have played BT3 for many years in the competitive scene. I know I didn't spend much time talking about it, and part of that is how boring it was watching everyone have the same first 3 characters Gogeta, Perfect Cell (not super perfect) and Brolly. Given the two tournaments I sat through were 5v5 instead of the traditional 3v3 so my judgement has been from that.
@@deslex66 actually there are matches where people use low level characters like saibamen in competitive Tenkaichi. Check out grand master hawk. He is a Tenkaichi pro
I'd be down for that. Or even random select. Just so people can't abuse the ones that are leagues better.
The budokai games I choose not to comment on because I couldn't find an active community to show me the ins and outs. The few discords I hopped into, no one answered me.

In all fairness, I much prefer fleshed out fighting games over fan service although if we're accounting ALL DBZ games.

@@deslex66Dbz never had a great competitive fighter except maybe raging blast 2. All the others were not made proper afterwards. They made fighterZ kid friendly because they didn't think people were smart enough to learn fighting games. Prior to that, infinite world and raging blast 2 were monsters
My memory of Raging blast 2 might be wrong, but wasn't that game dead immediately in regards to the competitive scene due to the amount of bugs and infinites. Also in regards to dragonball fighterz, being kid friendly, I'm guessing your just talking about the auto combos? Because the game still has motion controls like every other fighter.
You referred to budokai 1 as an arena fighter, the correct term is 2.5D fighter.
@iigeminiii3754 my mistake. 🤔 only reason I didn't think it was 2.5D is because of the continual side steps like tekken, breaking that 2D plane.
@@deslex66 mortal kombat deadly alliance, deception, and arrmagedon were also 2.5D. The reason it's considered 2.5D is because the only way it utilizes the z axis, is the sidestep, hence it lies between 2D and 3D. I wouldn't have necessarily have mentioned it, if you called boudokai 1 a 2D fighter, because the distinction between 2D and 2.5D is small, but the difference between those two, and 3D arena fighters is a much wider gap. Tldr I'm not trying to "um, actually..." you. It was a good vid other than that nitpick, that and dissing bt1 into, it wasn't that bad...

@@deslex66 I just looked up to make sure I had it right, and I found that the 2.5D label is a contentious among fighting game players. So you can look it up and find a better or different take. I think the distinction is important but maybe 2.5d might not be best, because of the label already being used as a term for art style/direction, even though I feel it's a good way to describe the pseudo 3rd dimensional aspects, added to a fighting game set on a 2D plane. But everything is in contention when it comes to "fighting" games.
@iigeminiii3754 the FGC are crazy when it comes to titles. But to my knowledge of the 2.5D, it's a 3D model on a 2D plane. Such as Killer Instinct, MK11, GG strive. Basically anything that isn't sprite work on a 2D plane. Except I don't count the rumble fish as a 2.5D fighting game, because although they're 3D models, they operate the same as sprites and simply flip the models on a cross up.

I'm really surprised they haven't shown DB or GT characters. I'd pop for Android 8 or even blue. And with GT, well, Vegeta with a "mooo-tache" would be welcomed
