I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me. But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
I liked the parable where He says when you’re invited to a gathering sit in the lowest seat so the host may say “come now go up higher” and he may exalt you and everyone may see you are honored but if you come and sit on the highest seat and the host moves you from your seat further down one is humiliated. So be humble so you may be exalted. Because if you exalt yourself someone else will come and humble you. I thought that was beautiful . Jesus was a true Master so much wisdom in his gospel. God bless
So, the first thing is for a person to be fully convinced that being more kind and compassionate are good qualities to have. That a person actually experiences more happiness and fulfillment when they are kind and compassionate towards other living beings. In this connection let us read a very nice verse from the Bible: Ephesians 4:31-32 “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, quarreling, and slander be put away from you, along with all hatred. And be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another just as God has forgiven you in the Messiah.” Now, let us look at some ways how a person can enhance and increase their compassion and kindness. On a practical level, most people think of themselves first. And then perhaps some relatives and friends. This is often where it ends. In order to cultivate compassion and kindness, a person can make a commitment to try to do some random acts of kindness to at least one other living being every day. Without expecting anything in return. We should not want to be acknowledged, rewarded or even thanked. The more a person do this, the more they will like it. It actually feels really nice because it is in harmony with our spiritual nature to be kind and compassionate.
