I’m a pretty good DJ who’s been a Pro for 25 years or so. I can’t thank you enough for all of the cool skills I’m learning from you as a fairly new DDJ SX 2 user. Even after all of my experience, I’m still learning from your channel and that’s awesome! Really appreciate your work.
Your channel is awesome! I've just started mixing on SB3 & Serato DJ Pro & I've been putting in serious hours into practicing, your videos are very helpful. Gracias! Not many RUclips DJs are covering Slicer Mode on SB3, now I understand it better thanks to you.

I like it how how you want to help us and explain the most important things so well. Thank you ;D It would be very nice if you can do more tutorials on the DDJ 400 :)
This is the most recent comment I've seen, can you help me figure out why I can autoloop up to 8 but it only goes down to 1.. doesn't allow me to go any lower
@@louramon5141 maybe it's in the settings somewhere? or like a glitch or something, like im having quantize on 1 beat instead of 1/4 or 1/8 .. uhm.. Which dj equipment do you use? And how did you initiate the autoloop, via the loop pads, via the software or the two buttons where you can put it in manually, that part isnt clear to me sorry.
I’ve been DJ’ing events on my college campus with a Mac for 3 years now and looking to upgrade for some the experience & your video, not only teach good techniques, but you show every angle and go into detail with every step. Very useful! Thank you so much😃
These are the transitions that are so necessary to learn. Please give some more tutorials on the DDJ-400 and rekordbox :) With this new hardware and software I feel like a beginner!
Q: why do you go straight to a big machine if you are a beginner? I too took Carlo advise and got the same machine he has on the video. I don't understand why you didn't take his advise. That small machine he works on does exactly the same job and it cost under $200 dollars.
@@DrBiBeatz A: Because I plan on using CDJs in the future and want to invest in something I can grow into. Plus I really like the Rekordbox DJ software. I've already gotten better just putting the time into learning it. I will say though, I do prefer the FX panel on the SB3 vs. DDJ400 but I can easily overlook that using the PAD FX buttons.
Hey Carlo, Loving these tips and tricks videos. Also is there any chance you could do another mix/mashup or even tricks you use on the ddj-xp1?. Thanks, keep it up.
Como siempre muy buen vídeo, pero este tutorial, estuvo MAGISTRAL. Gracias por compartir tus conocimientos, recibe un saludo desde Los Ángeles, California.
Great job as usual! Question: I noticed that you use Seratos echo effect a lot. Which echo do you use? what settings? Mine does not sound like that, ever. Thanks!
Hey DJ Carlo! Since you’re an open format DJ, you’ve probably mixed together a ton of different genres. Do you have any tips in transitioning between 80s & 90s songs (let’s say from 80 to 130 bpm) then transitioning to mainstream music? 😁
Awesome! Can't believe this stuff is free! by the way @DJ Carlo -- you seem to demo more with the SB3, why aren't you using the DDJ-400 as it is newer? I can't decide now, whether to get the SB3 or 400.
I think SB3 is quite easy to use and manage for beginner DJ I have spent 3-5 days and I nearly get used to most of the functions on it. I really recommend SB3 if you are a beginner DJ :)
I am not sure if I must buy ddj 400 or not. Some are giving me good reviews and some the bad one's. Please suggest. Also, Please make some videos on ddj 400.
Thanks for the great tutorials! I'm new to DJing and started on traktor (mistake, probably!), but just got the DDJ400/rekordbox. I'm finding rekordbox to be much easier and intuitive for me. Couple quick questions: 1. is there a slip mode or a similar feature on rekordbox (as shown in this video on serato)? 2. You mention mixing in key in this video so this question relates: Is there a mode on rekordbox that allows you to alter the tempo (to beat match) without changing the key? In traktor you can do this by clicking on the music note.
I really love your tips n tricks! Quite handy and useful ;) I’m using SB2. Would be appreciated very much if you do a vdo of a few cool combining effects that great with the tracks. Becoz SB2 doesn’t have a cool effect like the new ones. What i hardly do is “scratching”. It’s not easy like you did in the tutorials lol I just don’t know how much i have to sweep backward or forward. It came out weird everytime i tried to do scratch set And another thing is i really like is your effects on every vdo you made. How you do that? Which program you use? Looks so cool.
Very nice carlo, i just notice that the build uo your using is an edit as obviously it is perfect to finish on that kind of transition, but to find a tune what builds up then drops into a break like yours does (had it not finished ) would be really hard to find wouldn’t it? Usually you would have to end that transition into a drop wouldn’t you not? It sounds alot better dropping into a break tho rather then a drop! It sounds pure 🔥 mate 👍 Or am i missing something here?
Very observant my man! Actually, a lot of electro/big room tracks do that, especially from the 2012-2015 era. It really depends on the song and remix, but some go straight into the build up, while others have a break, then come back with either some lyrics or the build up.
@@djcarlo ah right. Gotcha 😉. Cheers carlo. It sounded absolutely perfect… its like spin-backs sound better dropping into breaks aswell imo.. thanks for the tutorials tho i think I’ve seen just about every single one you’ve made up to now and ive learned absolutely loads off you mate. Much appreciated 🤝
Awesome video like always.. I have just one question: how do you organize your music? Since I started out a few months ago I think my music isn‘t organized correctly.. I‘ve sorted it by genre (house, big room, deep house, tech house, etc.) and I have about 17 subfolders now and I think these are too much or I don‘t sort it correctly :/
I have one question. How do you know where you can start one of this loops in a live setup. Do you set cue points for it or do you know all your tracks so well that you can do it out of memory? And thanks one more time for such a great tutorial!
you can always set a cue point to remember where to loop, once you do that enough though you'll learn to just feel when to do it and memory will come natural
Hey this is a side question Me and my buddy wanna invest on a DJ controller/ equipment. We been experimenting on our own with a DJ software called Mixxx and we decided that we finally wanna upgrade. We been looking around and we narrowed our list to 2 DJ controllers: Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 and Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB3 (actually I got this from your video) and we watched your introduction video on Pioneer DDJ 400 as well. The thing we are being uncertain on is mainly Rekordbox and Serato, as well as Traktor as well. As our entire library is predicated on using Mixxx, we are totally unsure if we can integrate everything seamlessly or how painful is the transition process would be. Could you give us an advice on what can we do from here? Is there anything else that we have to lookout for as well? Thank you for your time.
Hey there man, I am currently having an issue with the Mic on ddj400 to work. Been in touch with pioneer as well with no luck, does it work on your controller (mic)?
So have a DDJ sb3 when I try using the fx buttons and knob it freezes my serato. Everything else works fine. Most are saying it could be my laptop. Does this sound possible.
Slip mode doesn't seem to work that way in any kind of loop with the latest rekordbox and a DDJ1000.. The slip mode marker goes outside the loop waiting for the loop to exit, rather than looping inside the loop allowing vinyl breaks and backspins to stay in time with the loop. Any ideas?
