Very happy to hear that you never plan on getting rid of it. These cars deserve to be driven and cared for by enthusiasts. I've also had my 2005 Federal S2 for a year and also plan to hold onto it as long as I'm around.

Great video, I have owned my S1 111s for 23 years ( it was a year old when I bought it) we have toured France many times (yes you can pack for 2 for 10 days holiday). One memorable trip was to Monaco ( always wanted to drive through the tunnel) as our car is a limited edition type 49 bit of a homage to Graham Hill in the Lotus 49 F1 car. Quick question you talked about insurance but did not say who you are with

@@JuliaDickson-sn4mi I need to drive mine more! The type 49 was the first version I drove when they were brand new. The dealer local to me at the time (formula one Newcastle) had one as a demonstrator. If I could have 2 Elise’s then a 49 would be the second
It's a joke to compare a Tesla to an S1 Elise it's no contest the Elise shits all over a Tesla .
Pity the Lotus Elise dashboard is so spartan and unimpressive. Look at the Triumph TR4 or the AC Cobra dashboard...that should be the way to go. What about rainwater seeping in?
Good point but the Elise is a minimalist car and they tried to keep the weight down. The car isn’t too bad for water ingress.
