Honestly, these are just the best cars for physical raw driving experience. I have just sold my gt3 in order to buy a 240 final edition elise and i absolutely love it. way better. its a keeper as long as i can find someone to keep putting me in and out of it!! love the facts. (bottle holder between the seats behind you!)
Totally agree, modern supercars are so fast but so hard to find opportunities to use their performance, almost impossible to enjoy legally, but car makers sell a fantasy, Elise is actually more fun more of the time in the real world.
Brilliant video. Very new to the Elise world as I’ve just bought a 4k mile chrome orange sport 220. I must admit I wanted plastic side boards and splitter. Absolutely not paying that money lol.
Thanks car sounds nice plastic factory barge boards and splitter would cost over £5k. There are cheaper alternatives but the 220 looks great as it is in orange.
Many thanks, I wouldn’t normally go for gold, I was very close to ordering Nightfall Blue to honour my much loved Elise SportsRacer, then Motorsport Green but loved the Elise Cup 260 press car (as you cam tell!) and that’s what finally swung it!
Point 7, the shut lines, they are (i think) where the parts of the clam are glued together. On my S2 Elise you can see it from the inside how its glued along the lines
That carbon front splitter is quite nice , but at 3500 quid its the same price as I paid for my BMW 130i M Sport .. now Im not tight , but given the choice of the two ,,, it would be a simple call.
Many thanks, I have covered everything that's happened to date in my Cup 250 videos which isn't much, but yes I plan to do updates on the Elise as we go along as I will with the Evora. Much appreciate the encouragement.
After quite a bit of research I wanted one that would be secure enough to use on track and settled on the Quadlock. So far so good, seems better quality than others I’ve tried but it does need a separate Quadlock phone cover to work.
Your 250 is unique so...Colour & full carbon spec. I will try to push my 250 Cup with one finger🤣 The part talking of the lines on the frame was very intersting too. The 250 Cup is sold for doing 4.3 s from 0 to 100 km/h , everybody is saying that it is wrong but anyone tested it for real. Do you know the truth about it?
Thanks for watching, not sure about real 0-100km/h time, I guess that's an ideal time in perfect conditions. I haven't tried timing a launch, I don't like to because of the strain on the transmission and clutch, but happy to time a rolling start. Have you ever tried a standing start? I don't believe the Elise Cups have launch control unlike the later Exige Cups but I still wouldn't use it anyway!
@@DrPittenstein I just think the Elise looks better without a rear wing or indeed any of the aero kit, off course I understand why Lotus put all the aero on it, with it having 250hp but for me, keep the aero off, power at no more than 200Hp and you still have a great little car.
@@anthonywebb4068 You and S1 designer Julian Thompson who was upset at having to integrate the rear spoiler into the S1 apparently. Elise is great with and without aero for me, I've owned both and 111r remains one of my favourites of all.

Ouch. Don't grab onto the windshield when getting in. Known to crack and very expensive to replace

Thanks for putting new Elise content on YT, especially now as the car is no more as of 2021!
Yes we won't be seeing much Elise content from the bigger car channels from now on sadly. Plenty more from me though! Thanks for watching.

Lovely video as usual, and a gorgeous colour for the car, bet it looks superb in the metal!

No sound for the first 15 seconds. I thought it was my device.
Thanks for the feedback I have added some intro music.

Could be, but the various Exiges do without the fake shut lines despite both Exige and Elise having single piece clams so remains a mystery to me.
Great video; hope you make more featuring that beauty of a car.
Thanks Gregory yes I have some more planned with the Golden Wonder! Thanks for the encouragement. Best wishes DrP

And it is a beautiful colour
I like it but not a very popular colour clearly! I figured I could get away with it on a Final Edition.
No. 11. Opening scene. You should NEVER put your hands on the windscreen, when entering. It can break.
Interesting video. Have you done an ownership video on the 250 like the superb ones you did with your Exige?

The early S2 Elise front lights were repurposed Ignition coils.
That would make a good number 11 👍
@@DrPittenstein Actually iut was the ignition coil cap. I did a RUclips video about it on my Elise before my channel was shut down.
Quick question Dr.P, what phone mount are you using for your Elise on the RHS of the dash... I need to get a good one.

@@DrPittenstein Ordered. Thank you DrP
Adds weight
Not sure I can even get plastic original 250 barge boards anymore:(
Yes I don’t think Lotus are very bothered about the heritage cars sadly, no excuse now they have $$$
Interesting
appreciated

Elisa's Elise?
Yes her’s is the same colour but she has a 240 Final Edition, thanks for watching until the end!
lovely car, lovely colour, rear wing looks awful.
anything you don't like about my rear wing in particular or do you just not like the Elise Cup wing in general?
