Interesting piece. Diane Luckey had a full life, a husband and two children, who will miss her. She didn’t fail at anything.

There are so many genius songs sitting on vinyl, tapes, CDs, and especially hard drives that never will reach a wider audience, maybe because the creator didn't intend it to be spread or because it lacked whatever it took for it to become famous.
Also, so many talents out there who never realized their potential.

thank you for this. the term ”iconic” is often overused, but it’s only fitting for q lazzarus and goodbye horses.
giving her a platform for others to discover her work is another testament to the genius of demme.

She has a voice as beautiful and iconic as annie lennox imo!❤
It always baffles me how some people can be so popular and memorable while others fade into obscurity even when they have everything working in their favor. I guess part of it is having the right people backing you up and one having the tenacity to push through, and the other part being timing and luck. At least we'll always remember Q for her voice and the amazing songs she brought to life 😓

As you say it's sad that she never received the credit or reaped the benefit of her talent but she has left an indelible legacy that bands like 'Indelible Scars' and 'Tone of Arc' have honored with outstanding cover versions of her iconic track. Respect! 🙏💙

I think it's disgusting that talented people are turned away for their appearance. So what if she had dreadlocks? Nothing wrong with them and she was beautiful just the way she was. They deprived the world of the full potential of her talent. I'm so sad to hear she passed away. Your voice will live on beautiful lady. RIP.
