My brother has same birthday..19th July I am 17th july,. Rip my brother and Diane 🙏 I watched manhunter with him back in vhs 80s, Rest in peace my brother John. Love you and miss you still x
I originally commented on this 8 years ago and I'm back to say I just saw this band perform this song with the San Francisco Orchestra and it was captivating! I think Q. Lazzarus would have approved!
I think so. Unfortunately she passed away in July this year. But apparently someone was interviewing her and started a documentary about her, and they plan to release it posthumously.
it was on two other times first...once on "Married to the Mob" and the sdtrk cd and also on a PBS show Demme filmed about The Bronx NYC that had Q Lazzarus performing it acoustically in a park..that is the rarest video
Michael Gass if all you guys are into Joy Division you should definitely check out a group called she wants revenge. Their song called tear you apart is the first song I heard from them and I bought the album and it's a pretty decent album. And there's definitely Joy Division influence in that too. The same monotone type of singing
You told me, I've seen it rise But it always falls I've see him come, I've seen him go He said, "All things pass into the night" And I said, "Oh no sir, I must say you're wrong I must disagree, oh no sir, I must say you're wrong Won't you listen to me?" You told me, "I've seen it all before I've been there, I've seen my hopes and dreams A-lying on the ground I've seen the sky just begin to fall" He said, "All things pass into the night" And I said, "Oh no sir, I must say you're wrong I must disagree, oh no sir, I must say you're wrong Won't you listen to me?" Goodbye horses, I'm flying over you Goodbye horses, I'm flying over you Goodbye horses, I'm flying over you Goodbye horses, I'm flying, flying, flying over you
Habéis conseguido llevar esta canción a lo máximo. Sois muy grandes. Me siento muy orgulloso de vosotros. Esa pasión me ha llevado a las lágrimas. Sois muy buenos.
I love the song ...and yes you couldn't of said it better!!! Good version... something about this song would never make anyone tired of listening to it over n over again
I like it although I would have liked to hear him get a little more raunchy with his voice in a few parts such as (in parentheses).... "all things pass into the night (aww and I said) Hold on sir..
This is such a great song that I believe every band should include a cover of it in their set lists. 30 years later and it only gets better and better.
What an amazing performance, the original is hard to beat, but this is very well done! This cover has made me fall in love with the original track all over again.
for those interested this song was recorded two times prior to" Silence..." ..once on "Married to the Mob" and the soundtrk cd and also on a PBS show Demme filmed about The Bronx NYC that had Q Lazzarus performing it acoustically in a park..that is the rarest video
For everyone commenting how sweaty the singer is: he's playing in front of tons of stage lights, in a suit, in Texas. He's probably close to passing out from heat stroke, give him a break...
JamesJoyce12 you need to push yourself more when you’re the singer.. I play in bands, nothing at this level, but I can tell you, I sweat WAY more when I’m singing, as opposed to just playing.
Beautiful. A cover song should not just rehash the original, but add something new. This fits the bill entirely, thank you guys! (Bonus: camera work is amazing!)
Im not impossible to please. I just know id look up the lyrics if i was going to perform a song in case i was singing the lyrics wrong...as i have on many occasions. Why is that heater on the street?
A serious question: I love this song along with millions of others who love this song. Would we love it so much if we had never seen the movie and just heard it on the radio? Do we give it "extra props" because it was part of such a powerful and memorable scene?
wow, huge type o negative fan and this never even came close to coming to a thought, but since you brought it up I can actually fucking hear it clear as day bro... crazy.
I think this is one of the most amazing covers ever! Are used to be a SXSW person. This is beautiful. I know I’m years late but I started searching Q Lazzarus after she passed away in July. I’m probably going to listen to this every day
RIP Diane Luckey AKA Q Lazarus July 19 2022. Always loved this song so unique and moving.
Thanks for that 🤙
I was unaware that she passed fuckingawesome song❤
I knew the man who wrote it died a while ago, but the vocalist too has now said goodbye to horses.
🐎♥️

Yeah I just found out she passes away. Her music is still moving what a gift to share the world. ❤
2024 let's all just tuck it back and danced like no one is watching!
……we were supposed to wait?
Almost 2025
cuz u seeen yer hopes n dreams lying on the ground!
😅
Nothing will ever beat the original, but this is a damn fine interpretation!
Yes this version is so good anyway
I think it sounds awful. Q Lazarus nailed it.
@@cl4234 You're wrong. It's essentially the same, but with superior vocals.
Thank you Jonathan Demme for introducing me the this beautiful song.
One thing I love about this version is the buildup towards the end .. almost like a layering of the instruments. It’s clever
Phillip Almaraz they do it a lot in there own music i love it
Excellent arrangement

@@eat_pray_porg8450 That sucks, man but it'll be cool to see that documentary
@@eat_pray_porg8450 oh noo I didn’t know she passed away
Cómo se llama esta banda ?
@@eat_pray_porg8450 , I think I read she was driving a cab in NYC or something random like that. I’d love to see a documentary.
Possibly one of thee greatest songs of all time!
“I’d sing this, I’d sing this alot”
Damn you that was funny!
Pretty good
I’d sing this so fucking hard.
Would you sing this?
I'd sing this.
I'd sing this SO HARD!
Perfect!
THIS GROUP DEFINITELY PUT THE LOTION IN BASKET!
One of the best covers of a song I've ever heard anyone do. Very talented musicians here.
Great
check out KI Theory. Their cover of Stand by Me is unique.
Excellent cover. I think the band was very successful at paying homage to the original while also putting their own spin on its sounds.
A band called The Airborne Toxic Event playing at a venue called Bat Bar! Y'all predicted 2020.

That is so creepy 2020...🤞✌️🙏

@@fsdaft16 So does 'Indelible Scars! 😉
Psyche..version is fantastic too.
Honestly sucks to see some of the negative comments on here, this performance was fantastic IMO.
Uptown NYC yeah, this is a super competent and well done cover, but there’s something absolutely magical about the original Q Lazarus recording.
@@UptownNYC that’s your opinion :p
@@nyumyu3499 fair enough 👍
The original is absolutely the ultimate, but this is without a doubt a superb cover. Loved it.😉
just found this remix and I CANNOT stop playing it. Ditto my friend ditto
I wish I've heard the song BEFORE watching the Silence of the lambs.
Its still a great song . i listen to it almost everyday
I actually only know this song from Family Guy.
I had that luxury lol

A true musician and an unparalleled cover. I’m a fan for life.
"Sometime After Midnight" awesome song by this band....
Best song by any band!!! That damn song blew my mind!!!
Cheers
I may be obsessed with this song. This cover sort of reminds me of Joy Division.
Omg me too!! The part where he says" won't you listen to me" how's Joy Division written all over it sounds heavily influenced like jd
Hank Hyder Yeah, big JD fan here, so I could hear the influence as well :D
+norskfimbulvetr It does I agree and Im a huge Joy Division fan!
wow...great minds think alike...when he started singing the first verse, i said to myself this is very ian curtis sounding. nonetheless a great cover

The singer is so sexy voice and all

This performance is correct, in so many ways. They owned this song!
Except it sounds like they are saying “I’m lying over you” instead of “flying over you”.
Not that I've ever heard a bad cover of this song, but this one does full justice to the original by Q Lazzarus.
This is one bloody fine tribute to the original....and for live, it's epic.
Fantastic cover!! What a great band! His voice - wow!
