Thank you for explaining the hair over comb technique. Never thought of the color of the comb before. My son has black hair and I use a black comb. This will help tons.
I am a new Cosmetologist and currently find myself doing mostly men’s haircuts. I appreciate the education you bring to these videos. Very helpful to me.
My father recently let me cut his hair, im not a barber but i definitely love cutting hair on the side and cutting friends hair as well, this is super helpful because my dad has similar hair, really appreciate this!
Ive been barbering for 20+ years. Save yourself time and just use attachment combs. They are way more accurate and consistant anyway. However, if you absolutely insist on doing clipper over comb. It should be used as a once over/debulking rough draft. As a way to see, gauge and judge what hair lengths work best on that particular client's head and hair. Then afterward use the attachment combs to check your haircut for accuracy and final polishing, if you will.
@cpzmelbs did I say that I was right and everyone else are wrong? No, I didn't. So stop it already. But my 25 years of experience does speak for itself.
I’m not much of a RUclips content person because I’m old. But mannn I enjoy your content through and through! Most of my tools now consist of your recommended stuff. I’ve been cutting hair for 13 years but I went to cosmetology school. Watching you has made me decide to go to barber school asap and take my cut game to the next level. Also, your tutorials are legit. I think someone who doesn’t even cut hair could do a decent job following these tutorials 👌🏼
Love the fluidity from the comb to the scissors cut. I need a little tutorial of the method to make me more efficient with the transition of the hand or the technique please. Love the videos.
Yeah I have the same issue with the juggle scizzor comb hand and I've been doing this as a hobbyist DIY for 25 years. I'm like super focused on hos motions and mechanics so zi can muscle memory it for my brothers next haircuts.

Very nice! Havent seen all your videos, I was wondering if you could do a video where you shave the face of a client with a straight razor and some nice warm barber shaving cream.
@@Seancutshair I use to go to this Italian barber when is was younger, like 20 years ago, always loved have that type of shave, with the hot towel , straight razor and warm barber shaving lather. hollllllllyyyyyyyy snap I have been looking for time how to do clipper over comb and I just found it !!!!!!!!!!!! :0 THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH !!!!!!!!
Hard to explain. This kind of protects you from going into the round of the head, but more or less only gives one result, guards allow more freedom but risk cutting into the bulk you don’t want to. There’s a time and a place to use both methods
Im a hobbyist. This is how I style and cut my hair but a little closer. I fade with the Oster 76s and blend with the Sabers sometimes if I don't feel like flicking out all day. Self taught haircutter. Been doing my brothers for 25 years. Just did mine and my brothers this last Sun after dinner. The SC/Gamma Saber lineup is awesome. Have had them the last year. I got them as a set because of my autistic 6 year old and the low decible rating but he still freaks out with haircuts since he was 3. Me and the ex wife have to chase him down and bear hug/leg lock him to cut his hair. Was going to do him too but he got 3 staples in his head I have to have removed tomorrow. Just called Stylecraft today. Phenomenal customer service. Had a power cord go on the Sabers after about 12 charges or 6 months. They shipped the new out immediately no charge. Keep an eye out for them going bad. Its not the cradle. Oh check out the Faper blades for the StyleCraft Sabers Clippers.
Don’t know if this will help anyone who needs it but I remember when I first started out and learned clipper over comb I would use a guard. So for example if you do a 2 back and sides you can just go in with your comb and open clipper but if you use a 3 back and sides you can stick a 1 guard on the clipper and do your clipper over comb. Even just to practice it’s a safe way of doing it with fades or short back and sides stick a 1 guard on and do clipper over comb. You won’t take too much hair and you’ll also get used to the angles in which you should be holding the comb etc.
@@Seancutshair Thanks. When doing that do you guy up to the part line with let's say a n.4? Do you have some videos on your channel where you show how you do that?
How would you do this if the client wanted the top longer, but the sides just as short as in this video? Would I have to do a triangle section in the front to keep the fringe area longer?

Thanks sean! Great video! I got two questions please 1. Why would you use a comb on the sides? Specially if you than use guards above it? 2. How do you set the length of the hair when you scissor cut it on the top first side? Thanks again
