This is an OG cut, no skin fade, just a normal side part 2 on the sides. Amazing haircut. Skin fades are overrated. These OG haircuts are underrated
💯💯💯
@@Seancutshair Nice thanks bro
That’s an old white man cut bud
@@petergonzalez5154People who GETS a haircut like him begs to differ
Skin fade is as og as it gets. All military men get it
Explanation, education, and speed of/on this method is exceptional thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
We may cut differently, but I love that there’s always some information to take away from these videos.
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I’m not much of a RUclips content person because I’m old. But mannn I enjoy your content through and through! Most of my tools now consist of your recommended stuff. I’ve been cutting hair for 13 years but I went to cosmetology school. Watching you has made me decide to go to barber school asap and take my cut game to the next level.
Also, your tutorials are legit. I think someone who doesn’t even cut hair could do a decent job following these tutorials 👌🏼
Love to hear it! Appreciate the support 🙏🏼
🔥🔥🔥cut bro.it’s so nice when those gentlemen cuts come thru.nice break from the bald fades all day.
Those r the money makers bro!!!!!💪🏻💪🏻💈💈
@@jasonmercurio1928 facts
Definitely. I actually have been doing less and less fades lately and I have to say I’m enjoying the change
@@Seancutshair Absolutely brother, it is definitely nice to switch it up once in a while
@@Seancutshair I guarantee it bro.
Love the fluidity from the comb to the scissors cut. I need a little tutorial of the method to make me more efficient with the transition of the hand or the technique please. Love the videos.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Yeah I have the same issue with the juggle scizzor comb hand and I've been doing this as a hobbyist DIY for 25 years. I'm like super focused on hos motions and mechanics so zi can muscle memory it for my brothers next haircuts.
Back cutting after a long break was really rusty but this video brought my qaulity up straight away 🔥
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks for also using a client with salt & pepper/grey hair. Much appreciated.
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Very good teacher. I am a barber but still learning every single day. Thanks for your videos
You are very welcome 🙏🏼
This video was 🔥 bro everything you did is what i struggle with in barber school right now from c.o.c and shear work dealing with a lot of straighter hair clients and having no experience with that texture I have some frustrating days but i promised myself to be true to the craft so i will get it and this helped much love bro and that little shear flip you was doing is top tier lol
You got it 🙌🏻

Totally understand this. I just finished beauty school in August and was on the floor cutting 15 people a day just starting out in a salon a week after. I knew how to do a basic fade and that was about it. But i learned and i learned quickly. You start to understand clipper over comb even more as u master it
Not gonna lie I been needing this video .

Ive been barbering for 20+ years. Save yourself time and just use attachment combs. They are way more accurate and consistant anyway. However, if you absolutely insist on doing clipper over comb. It should be used as a once over/debulking rough draft. As a way to see, gauge and judge what hair lengths work best on that particular client's head and hair. Then afterward use the attachment combs to check your haircut for accuracy and final polishing, if you will.
I agree I use guards 99% of the time but some people prefer clipper over comb so wanted to give some tips
Ive been barbering for 21+ years and i disagree entirely
@@cpzmelbs you're opinion. Take the long way of doing it then. Charge them big money too, scammer
@@OregonWildmanAKAsasquatch what makes you right and no one else?
@cpzmelbs did I say that I was right and everyone else are wrong? No, I didn't. So stop it already.
But my 25 years of experience does speak for itself.
Thank you for this upload. Your knowledge and skill level is very much appreciated.
Keep informing the people...

For my oval head. I like the comb to be vertical. Fills in the crown better for some reason. I love clipper over comb.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I just recently discovered this technique - Im in love with it, damn near considering become a barber on the side. Only problem is I keep trying to cut my own hair on the top, and create huge craters because I dont press the comb down on my head,
You should do it!
Suggest using a noise reduction plugin on your audio tracks when editing. Good educational content 👏
I’m still tweaking it! Everything I’ve done so far muffles my voice too much. Appreciate the feedback.
I managed to pull of your balanced cut starting with the 3 and then cutting the top with scissors on my son and man it came out good! Thanks for your tips and tricks your one of the best if not the best at teaching regular joes to functionally cut at home. Thanks again! Even my wife is like you did his hair it looks so good lol😅!
That’s great! Glad I could help 🙌🏻
thanks!!! loved it. It seems like there's always hair in the comb when doing clipper over comb, so this helped a lot! thanks
Good to hear!!!
That's a really sharp haircut and I really like it! If it was me I would have parted it on the side but either way is cool.
He doesn’t like it parted lol I have an old video where I parted it real neat and clean and then he turned and messed it up 🤷🏻♂️
I liked this tutorial, for the reason, I have dyslexia, but this guy made it super easy for me to understand, especially when he said, a lot of this is by muscle memory, that's what I needed in college, a good patient teacher.
Thanks for the feedback! 🙏🏼
Don’t know if this will help anyone who needs it but I remember when I first started out and learned clipper over comb I would use a guard. So for example if you do a 2 back and sides you can just go in with your comb and open clipper but if you use a 3 back and sides you can stick a 1 guard on the clipper and do your clipper over comb.
Even just to practice it’s a safe way of doing it with fades or short back and sides stick a 1 guard on and do clipper over comb. You won’t take too much hair and you’ll also get used to the angles in which you should be holding the comb etc.
That’s what I showed in my next clipper over comb video 👌🏻
You did really good and it taught me a lot, thanks bro... Keep up the good work 💪💯
Thanks, will do!
Thank you for explaining the hair over comb technique. Never thought of the color of the comb before. My son has black hair and I use a black comb. This will help tons.
Yes it will!
Great basic haircut. You are very good with describing what you are doing and the video work is great. Thanks
Thank you!
Just came across your channel, love your videos!

Keep making these type of vids Sean! Great Work

Very useful! Thanks!! We love this

Thank you Sean I'm only about to learn how to do this and it's great to see how to

Not my type of haircut as I prefer the long styles but you did a good job here.
Thanks!
The One blade is 🔥🔥🔥. I’m using the Saber out the box they hitting. I got the precision blade coming in Wednesday which I’ll slap on the Evo 💈💪🏾
I really appreciate what you do and keep up the great content 🤙🏾
I got a package from stylecraft waiting back at the shop I think it’s a few more of those blades 😬😬😬
Learning a ton from your videos 📹 🙌
Love to hear it!
Anyone know a good barber in indianapolis? I’ve done hella research and I’ve tried 4 different guys and it’s not what I’m used to in Chicago. Their blending just isn’t good.
Wish I could help!
Great job. Please make more videos.
I drop two a week!!!
By chance do you share videos cutting hair into a fade with scissors?? I haven't had a chance to look through all your clips. I'll be going to barnering school before the end of this year and I would love to incorporate my Esthetician license with my soon to be barbering license for all the men out here in the world. Women have it to easy with all these beauty shops and not enough for men to get pampered
If you mean fading with scissors no I don’t. Haven’t attempted that. I’ll stick with using clippers
This guy had good hair and a handsome face to begin with, but you created a true beauty!
I’ll let him know 😝
Great job Sean 👏
Thanks 🙏🏼
When you say that the clippers over the comb against the head with open clippers will give us about a #2, are you meaning with zero-gapped clippers?
Just in general I don’t zero gap my clippers
Thank you so much bro. this video helped me a lot 😎🥳
Love to hear it!
Nice, and that beat got me chilling 🥶🎵🫠
Thanks for the video very neat
Glad you enjoyed it
Super nice technique
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Did he have a cowlick ,ive trimmed mine a little higher at back of neck to get rif of tht horrable twisting hair on neckline, mine is at the same level at this mans, somtimes tapering it is just tidying it up but if the natural hair is uneven trimming it up like this is the best way i believe.
Not on the back of the neck. That’s just where the line was from where he keeps up with it
What kind of combs did you use ??
Love those techniques
What brand of scissors are you using?
I use fresh shears. I have a few videos on my set up
Well done bro , what brand and models of clipper are you using?
Babyliss Pro matte black boost fx
Very nice! Havent seen all your videos, I was wondering if you could do a video where you shave the face of a client with a straight razor and some nice warm barber shaving cream.
I’ve been wanting to do a shave forever! Don’t have anyone who gets a shave though
@@Seancutshair I use to go to this Italian barber when is was younger, like 20 years ago, always loved have that type of shave, with the hot towel , straight razor and warm barber shaving lather. I was a great experience, we would sit down on Sundays and wait our turn, lots of older italien men, we would talk, read the news paper, have an espresso. God rest his soul.
Nice cut
Thanks
Where can I get that white comb
Utsumi USA
Iv started using the foil shaver for the neck shave instead of the cut throat. Find it gives a way closer shave, is much safer and doesn’t irritate the skin like the razor can. I’m new enough to barbering though if anyone wants to tell me why the cut throat is actually better or is it just for the theatrics?
It’s just old school. Funny you mention it. This past week I cut this same client and ran out of towels so I just used the shaver and explained to him it’s actually closer. He had just always thought the hot lather and razor was the way to go
I still need to run this?
Did I miss anything?
Nice video. It helped for me. Thank you :)
Glad to hear that!
Well done bro but I think back square line it’s very high
He cleans it up himself in between and that’s the first part I had enough hair to make a clean line 🤷🏻♂️
agreed
Very nice haircut...

Love a good salty head. Their hair is fun to do but a challenge with the shadesssssssss
Yes difficult at times!
Great tips! Thank you!
Welcome!
Well done Sir! I appreciate your content. May I ask what kind of guards your using that come in colors? Also, what your choice shears I see you using in this video?
MartyBlendz premium guards. Fresh shears makai 5.5” are the shears I’m using
Where did you get the comb ?

You should voice over more it enhanced your content on this video the haircut was fire as well
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Honey comb has 4 horizontal lines covering it
Mic drop?
What?!?
How would you do this if the client wanted the top longer, but the sides just as short as in this video? Would I have to do a triangle section in the front to keep the fringe area longer?
Yeah that’s one way to do it
I love the cut 👍

What kind of hair clipper is good for home used?
Depends on your budget there are so many options.

Is there a specific reason why you didn't fade between the long and short hair with clipper over comb? It gives a 90° angle and I wonder if it's intentional
I don’t understand what you’re asking
Where can I find or buy a black comb like yours? Thank you!
Google Utsumi USA. It’s the Utsumi 299
Thank you 😊
Do you like this clipper comb over the Kenny Duncan flat top comb you had?
They’re both about the same
Where do you buy your combs?
Usually amazon. Bought my last couple from Fort Worth barber supply

Utsumi is the brand #299
@@Seancutshair thank you for your response !
Great content. When you clipper over comb. Is your blade usually open, or closed? I like to leave my blade open. I just feel it gives the cut a softer look
I use the blade open. Some like it better closed but it’s safer open in my opinion. If you like to use it closed try it with a 1 guard on but closed. Cuts easier but the guard acts as a safety net
Nice haircut! I learned a lot and gonna cut my son in a minute!
Having said that - thank god there was film to watch along the speech (in the first part of vid)! Too much words too quickly and without a break is what troubles most youtubers. They tend to talk all the time when they show their trade.
And there's no muscle memory in cutting hair! You are just very good at it and do it very well without giving it much attention. That is all. Lots of practice and you just do it well, on first try, effortlessly.
Many times in my life I heard especially young people talking bulshit about muscle memory: when I was IPSC/IDPA pistol shooter instructors kept talking about it, when I was learning to sharpen my chisels for woodworking - muscle memory for angle :-), when I was hobby blacksmithing - for hammer hold, ... Do you really think that after many years of driving a car I can do it well because of muscle memory when changing gears? :-) If there was any muscle memory your bottom could remember your father's spanking. ;-)
Hey Sean. Is it possible to use longer guards instead of clipper over comb?
Absolutely and most of the time that’s what I would do. On a cut that’s this close to the head and square I use clipper over comb
@@Seancutshair Thanks. When doing that do you guy up to the part line with let's say a n.4? Do you have some videos on your channel where you show how you do that?
where did you get that white hyoujin flat top clipper comb? i got the black one i really like those.

WHY DO I need the comb when I have guards??? Someone please answer this question
The comb helps keep a square shape where the guards make it easy to round into the top
