    I’m not much of a RUclips content person because I’m old. But mannn I enjoy your content through and through! Most of my tools now consist of your recommended stuff. I’ve been cutting hair for 13 years but I went to cosmetology school. Watching you has made me decide to go to barber school asap and take my cut game to the next level.
    Also, your tutorials are legit. I think someone who doesn’t even cut hair could do a decent job following these tutorials 👌🏼

    Ive been barbering for 20+ years. Save yourself time and just use attachment combs. They are way more accurate and consistant anyway. However, if you absolutely insist on doing clipper over comb. It should be used as a once over/debulking rough draft. As a way to see, gauge and judge what hair lengths work best on that particular client's head and hair. Then afterward use the attachment combs to check your haircut for accuracy and final polishing, if you will.

    Don’t know if this will help anyone who needs it but I remember when I first started out and learned clipper over comb I would use a guard. So for example if you do a 2 back and sides you can just go in with your comb and open clipper but if you use a 3 back and sides you can stick a 1 guard on the clipper and do your clipper over comb.
    Even just to practice it’s a safe way of doing it with fades or short back and sides stick a 1 guard on and do clipper over comb. You won’t take too much hair and you’ll also get used to the angles in which you should be holding the comb etc.

    Nice haircut! I learned a lot and gonna cut my son in a minute!
    Having said that - thank god there was film to watch along the speech (in the first part of vid)! Too much words too quickly and without a break is what troubles most youtubers. They tend to talk all the time when they show their trade.
    And there's no muscle memory in cutting hair! You are just very good at it and do it very well without giving it much attention. That is all. Lots of practice and you just do it well, on first try, effortlessly.
    Many times in my life I heard especially young people talking bulshit about muscle memory: when I was IPSC/IDPA pistol shooter instructors kept talking about it, when I was learning to sharpen my chisels for woodworking - muscle memory for angle :-), when I was hobby blacksmithing - for hammer hold, ... Do you really think that after many years of driving a car I can do it well because of muscle memory when changing gears? :-) If there was any muscle memory your bottom could remember your father's spanking. ;-)

    Hey Sean. Is it possible to use longer guards instead of clipper over comb?

    • @Seancutshair
      @Seancutshair  Год назад

      Absolutely and most of the time that’s what I would do. On a cut that’s this close to the head and square I use clipper over comb

    WHY DO I need the comb when I have guards??? Someone please answer this question

    • @Seancutshair
      @Seancutshair  4 месяца назад

      The comb helps keep a square shape where the guards make it easy to round into the top
