So here we are with even more Evo 2024 hands on time with some upcoming fighting games and this time its Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact! I basically had trial by fire when it comes to the game as I had to go in completely cold, never playing the game before and then had to livestream it which uh... is an experience lol, but then after that time also got to play the game more at the booths in the Arc System Works area(no direct capture though, sorry). Long Story short, its a pretty dang cool game! So give the vid a watch, like if ya liked it and let me know what you think!
Nen X Impact it's a mix of Marvel and Tatsunoko vs Capcom with a splash of FighterZ and Battle for the Grid and I love this game. I can't wait to play on STEAM.
By the way, is this game also had active switch too alongside character assist already there altogether? Because I want both assist and active switch in one team-based game
I think his design was inspired by Rohan Kishibe's stand and cell. But his character itself is totally unique and I've never seen writing match his tbh.
I know jack about the Hunter X Hunter cast, but Bisky seems like a funny character! Starts off with baby normals including Krillin's 2H, but can turn into a big girl with big normals upon landing her stubby lv3 super. XD
The other cool thing is that her actual Nen ability is a massage therapist. It's basically just a healing ability but it's still pretty dope. She hates the way she looks in buff form, which is the only reason her small form exists, buff form is her true self.
And thats the last of my direct evo stuff. Got some ideas for a few vids after this and then in about a week and change we enter war mode as thats when the 2XKO beta test begins! Gonna be hitting that one extra hard so coverage on the channel will probably focus around that for a bit so hope you look forward to it!

mvci is the game that let me know that 90% of people who say they "only care about gameplay" are dang liars. mvci was a fantastic game with problems yes, but soo much of the negativity against it was so superficial and surface level complaining.
The show is great, it starts off feeling just a bit generic but it soon begins surprising you with how creative it is and how it messes with your expectations.
To a certain extent, but a hyper fixation on graphics is partly why AAA games are getting so expensive nowadays. Mediocre graphics are fine with me but the gameplay doesnt look that crazy either. Although this game does have borderline ugly graphics

its all good apparently watching the other footage from evo im the only one who picked those chars, so there was no way to have the matchup experience and I busted out the forbidden tech 🙊
HxH was always a blind spot for me even after hearing all the praise for it, so when Nen Impact was announced as an actual "Real" fighting game i finally caved and read it all in like a month and a half and i basically stopped even caring if the game was good cause the manga is genuinely transcendent... all the praise of the Chimera Ant arc as one of the greatest manga/anime arcs of all time is so real... but thanks to all the Evo reveals and showcases im back to wanting this game so bad!
I'm loving the game so far. I can get behind the graphics but what I feel really needs to be improved are the sound effects. The heavy hit SFX in particular during supers, lacks any sort of impact whatsoever
I’m so hype for this game one of my favorite anime characters of all time is meruem and to know he’s a fighting game of a franchise i never got to experience but i know will be great is so hype now just need you to experience the amazing story of hunterxhunter when that release date gets announced 😮💨😤

Bisky seeems like she wants to be on assist or anchor slot so you can bring her in strong. Leorio is the Yamcha of HxH but plays a much cooler role in the story, it's good to see him delivering Justice
I would recommend reading the hxh manga over the anime, the anime suffers from a lot of the same problems older shonen stuff does (bad pacing/animation mostly), but if you're used to that kinda anime it wont be too bad. I mainly say to go for the manga because while it is the same story everything about its presentation is astoundingly good, which the anime flattens from being a masterwork of the comic medium into being basically a normal anime
Anyone else notice there isn't head/eye tracking for the characters? Most modern fighting games the characters heads/eyes look at the opponent, makes it look like they are actually fighting each other. Here it doesn't look like there is at all, makes the animations look stiff, like they're blindly punching at air. IDK its one of those subtle immersion things that really sticks out when you get used to it. I think its partly due to the animations too, they look very robotic and stiff.

I'm doing held kameo button stuff in MK1 combos on stick. Definitely had to get funky with my layout. lol. But I also play Strive on stick and these sorts of games are great for just finding a layout that works.
Love that tag games are coming back in HxH and 2XKO. I personally hope ArcSys does another tag game with another IP (or Shonen Jump FighterZ.) I could see GGTeam but GGTag would leave a sour taste in the mouth. Side note: I reallly wish there were motions in the game. I did have 2xko time at evo, that video is already live on the channel from the other day. As for comparing other than they are both technically "versus" its apples and oranges. HxH is clearly a successor to marvel vs capcom, 2xko is doing its own thing.
I hope this game does well enough to warrant some dlc characters. I'd like a dedicated grappler on the roster. I haven't seen the whole show but I was thinking Genthru would work. Any Hunter x Hunter experts that can think of anyone fitting a grappler play style?
I don't entirely get the gripes with the graphics. Like, yes, obviously it doesn't look as good as dragonball fighterz, but that's an entirely different class. But I wouldn't call it ugly in any way. It's not KoF14 first reveal graphics. Am I down with it getting more money so it looks prettier? Obviously, yes. But I don't mind the looks it has right now. And if we somehow can funnel that money into more characters, I would do that in a heartbeat.

At this point just from a purely numbers perspective the amount of time and effort Id have to put in just wouldn't make up for the amount of views it would get. If you dont hit a DLC within the first 3-5 days the interest falls off a cliff. I am literally HxH fan and been in fgc for 7 yrs. Lemme tell ya. Go watch HxH, one of the best adventure anime out there really underrated. Idk why people always say full metal is better even though i watch full metal 3 times and quit after 3 ep every time. HxH literally start with 100 and end with 1000 and that is how good story suppose to go. You are in for a good ass ride, my dude.
it feels weird seeing people dig into this game's graphics, when I think it looks pretty good all things considered though I wasn't really super interested in the game until I saw Meruem, dunno much about HunterXHunter but I do love a weird insect-adjacent creature bonus points for having normals w/ range & tail attacks that are reminiscent of a xenomorph
feels perfectly fine and fluid. Marvel is a game people know so people know how to move fast, people still figuring this out so movement isnt crisp yet

they did get a new publisher after the announcement of the game so around the end of development, so that might be it

Lemme tell ya. Go watch HxH, one of the best adventure anime out there really underrated. Idk why people always say full metal is better even though i watch full metal 3 times and quit after 3 ep every time.
HxH literally start with 100 and end with 1000 and that is how good story suppose to go. You are in for a good ass ride, my dude.

feels perfectly fine and fluid. Marvel is a game people know so people know how to move fast, people still figuring this out so movement isnt crisp yet

I just... don't care about HxH. At all. There's probably a dozen other shounen anime/manga of equal or greater renown and popularity out there I'd be flipping out for if they got a Marvel style fighting game. But this ones a pass for me.
I just need * something * to be attached to beyond the mechanics. But much love to the HxH crowd. Enjoy :D
