Can we appreciate Mrs. Fairfax’s perfect display of emotion? Those 5 seconds she was on screen you could see surprise, happiness, confusion and gratitude mixed so perfectly. Wonderful acting.
I am tired of the debating: this version is better, that version is better. The truth is they are all different interpretations of a beautiful story. I see them as separate entities, to exist not in competition with each other but to complement each other, showing different aspects of a timeless story. Each director has an insight that he or she wants to share, and every single adaptation, in my opinion, is wonderful.
Bob Bobby //// I agree, some are better then others however the story by Ms. Bronte is beautiful, this scene was beautifully acted, the 2011 was lovely but my favorite was 2006.
wow.. you think back to how much turmoil Rochester has had in his life and you really can appreciate how much it must have meant to him when Jane came back to him.. I absolutely love Ciaran's emotional response.. it is so fitting..
This version is so underrated, not many people seem to know about it. Both Ciaran Hinds and Samantha Morton give great performances and were well cast in the way they look for the characters too.
I love Ciarian Hind's passion for Jane - especially the scene where she is leaving and his display of emotion at the thought of her departure. This scene, of her return, is so tender and, I agree with you, one of the best.
This is one of my favorite versions... I'm a big fan of the book and I've seen many of the film versions. And, while I've liked several of the films, this one was just so moving and well done, it really surprised me. Plus, I love the fact that they actually cast Ciaran Hinds, an older man, as Rochester. He definitely looks and acts the way I always envisioned him. And Samantha Morton's Jane is so adorable and charming. You can definitely understand why Edward fell so deeply in love with her.
I don't know if you will receive this message...I feel exactly the same! I recently discovered this version, and I can't stop watching it. It is truly the best of all the Jane Eyres!
I'm very partial to this version. The 1997 movie is my most favorite even if it doesn't closely follow the book. I love Cirian and Samantha in this movie. Bravo!!!
I like this ending also, I thought it was very emotional especially the part where Mr. Rochester was so desperate to see Jane's face, that part made me cry a little.
I think all the versions of Jane Eyre have their good points, mainly because they are all taken from the same excellent story. In my opinion, the best overall was the 1983 BBC version with Timothy Dalton and Zelah Clarke. It was the truest to the book, as well. But I also like this version, as well as the classic 1940s version with Orson Welles.
What an amazing performance! True passion expressed in the most profound way by both actors! I love this version of 'Jane Eyre' - it surpasses every other I've watched!
I freaked out when I realized that that is the same Samantha Morton that plays Alpha in The Walking Dead. Omg does she have range. Also holy crap, that's the guy from Game of Thrones--the wildling king.
I have always loved Jane eyre as a child and this is a lovely touching story its two main stars in this video ciaran and Samatha are both fantastic, I have seen ciaran in many roles on Tv and he is a great actor. so thankyou for letting me see this again
I cannot stop my emotions any longer. I will not go . you can say what you want I will l never leave your side again. I want no other . I want you. you are not your wounds You are everything that matters to me. I will never leave you again. XXX
I love this ending too... because in the book,, Jane mentions that Mr Rochester's sight starts to return alittle... Oh and what a joy... We have Gemma Jones as Mrs Fairfax, she is in Emma Thompson's version of 'Sense and Sensibility' as Mrs Dashwood... Elinor, Marianne and Margaret's mother... Marvellous acting and actors... And happy me too... :0)x
WOW I cried again, this scene is so beautiful...you can see how her true love for Edward is melting his defenses and his fears so that they can be reunited...I saw this version a very long time ago and I didn't remember how good it was. Samantha Morton is really good...when I think she was a precog in Minority Report, a really good actress.😍🥰❤💞😘 Bastien my love, nothing could change my love for you...
I just love what you did: put all the versions together as long as we can enjoy everyone of them That's what I do: I know there'll be a better Rochester, a better Jane, a better scene or a better delivered line in each. Because of you I found this scene and I felt really moved as in the book. I don't fight reallizing wich one is better, I just enjoy the play. I have favorites ones but the important thing here is the Fantastic novel Brönte wrote once.
If all the Jane Eyre films, this is by far the best of all! Ciaran Hinds and Samantha, outstanding!! Mrs. Fairfax is such a great talent, she displays every emotion just perfectly ❤️
I just saw this version for the first time last night. I loved Samantha Morton's Jane. Ciarian portrays Rochester as difficult to love and I really enjoyed that. He plays the character warts and all and ends up being endearing in a strange way. I've seen so many portrayals where he's either a charming rogue or seductive and alluring. Ciarian is neither of those things and I felt something very genuine in that. Yes, he's over the top, ragey, and super manipulative, but that's who the character is. He's not a classical romantic hero at all.
This novel created something unexpected and unbelievable im me , in my soul... It made me wish to find someone just like Mr. Rhochester... if it will never come true here... then in heaven ❤
What he tells her in this scene is literally what keeps me from opening up to a relationship. What I would give for a man to tell me what she told him. #cripplelife
La migliore versione di Jane eyre e Ciaran Hinds è bellissimo e dà il meglio di sé davvero inarrivabile e straordinario attore. Lo amo in tutti i film che ha interpretato!
Love doesn't even see scars or wounds, not in the heart. After my husband was paralyzed, he said almost the same things. " I can't do anything for you now. I don't want to be a burden". He did not comprehend, he was my gift! I was beyond grateful he was alive, & I could take care of him. God answered my prayers, don't take him! My privilege was to be the one who was with him every moment. He had cared for me so many years, loved me so much. I only wish I could have cared for him forever. Just being together was happiness. He was my treasure. Separation is torture. We only had 43 years, 10 months, but heaven is waiting when it's my turn to go. Yes, love like that still exists. When you have that kind of love, you've been given one of God's greatest gifts.
Well Acted By Ciaran Hinds👍⭐ + Samantha Morton.👍⭐ Showing Us, Again, The Complex Emotions + Passion Etc Within ' Rochester ' + 'Jane '.💞⭐💞⭐ I Know I'll Be Re-reading The Classic, Gothic + Passionate Etc Novel, ' Jane Eyre ' Again + Again!!👍📚 Written By A Gr8 Woman Ahead Of Her Time Etc👍📚...🦋🐻❤🕊😺😁📚🎬⭐⭐💞💞👍⭐💞👍
I really think the Timothy Dalton is by far the best version because it uses mostly dialogue directly from the novel. As much as I like this version for other reasons, in the end I prefer to hear the story told using the words Bronte used, this way the viewers interpretation can be closest to her intention.
I agree Mary - having read and loved the book, Tim Dalton’s Rochester is unsurpassed - his delivery pretty much word for word of Bronte’s wonderful conversations between him and Jane is just magic - he became Rochester. I haven’t felt that with any of the other versions.
See Gemma Jones in the series Duchess of Duke Street really good....I love this version...the new movie did not include the ending of his regaining sight and having a child...that sucked...My all time fav is of course the Orson Welles Rochester. That is so dark you would like it I am sure....tx for having this on here....oh by the way look for Elizabeth Taylor as Helen...
To my mind they are other Rochester and Jane. And his voice can frighten away anybody. Rochester here is moref pirate than an English aristocrat of the 19th century
Samantha plays Jane as too "modern", with modern sensibilities and too much of explicit romance. Zelah Clark, while older actress, played a reserved orphan with a big heart better.
Sorry, but 2011 version of Jane Eyre sucks. Which is quite sad because Michael Fassbender is truly an amazing actor, the female lead should have been some other actress, some unknown who truly can act.
It depends on taste I think. I personally think is the best version but thats just my opinion. Others including you like the other versions which is ok and normal. We all different and thats great thing thats why they make different versions of movies. One of my other favourite movies which has been done plenty of time is The Count of Monte Cristo. Its very old fashioned and I am afraid she will laugh in my face and I will feel smaller than a bug but I will give it a try if that what it takes.
I agree 100%! They should have used a better actress. Jane Eyre is supposed to be passionate and Mia Wasikowska (or whatever he name is) was so emotionless! Fassbender did a good job! Also the script was written poorly. Did not give credit to how good the book is. Yes I get it, there's only so much you can put in a movie but even the other adaptations managed to make a decent script. Tbh...it felt like 2011 version was put together by a child....

The Duchess of Duke Street.

totally agree so many comments i see are like 'this is the best version blah blah'-like it may be your favourite but it doesn't mean its the best
Yes, it is the BEST!💖💖💖
Bob Bobby //// I agree, some are better then others however the story by Ms. Bronte is beautiful, this scene was beautifully acted, the 2011 was lovely but my favorite was 2006.

wow.. you think back to how much turmoil Rochester has had in his life and you really can appreciate how much it must have meant to him when Jane came back to him.. I absolutely love Ciaran's emotional response.. it is so fitting..
I couldn't agree more! Ciaran Hind's and Samantha Morton's performances are the most passionate!
Any turmoil in roschester life is his own making he always court danger sad he always ends up with second best some other man discarded woman
This version is so underrated, not many people seem to know about it. Both Ciaran Hinds and Samantha Morton give great performances and were well cast in the way they look for the characters too.

No words... kills me every time... BESTEST version EVER ❤️❤️❤️
De todas las versiones que he visto esta se asemeja mucho al libro.Impecable las actuaciones se Ciaran Hinds Y Samantha Morton.
“MY OWN SWEET JANE!!”
-Rochester yells at Jane's face 10 inches away.
Well.... he is supposed to be blind.... hard to judge where other people have put their faces. Plus he just sounds sickish & stuffy
@@deborahhanna6640 that would fit in considering he's not supposed have taken very good care of himself since the 🔥.
LOL!!! And LOL again!! :D
I can't pick anymore. I love all the versions of this wonderfully brilliant novel.
Me too they are all awesome
Same here
This is one of my favorite adaptions
The best version of all the different Jane Eyre versions. This ending is clearly way ahead of the rest...
Most realistic display of human emotion for this story I've ever seen.
One of my two favorite movies....The Cieran Hinds movie by far the best. He is a beautiful actor and person.
Hands down, my favorite version. I loved both of their acting. Tremendous and moving every time I've seen it.
Fassbender and Dalton were great, too, but Hinds'and Morton knock it out of the park, to use a decidedly not English phrase.
I have seen several Jane Eyre movies within 24 hours, this is one of the most romantic stories I have seen.
I cried almost every time of the hundreds of times I already watched this...
Moi, aussi.
I don't know if you will receive this message...I feel exactly the same! I recently discovered this version, and I can't stop watching it. It is truly the best of all the Jane Eyres!
Anch'io, anch'io.
I'm very partial to this version. The 1997 movie is my most favorite even if it doesn't closely follow the book. I love Cirian and Samantha in this movie. Bravo!!!
the best version ever of this beautiful novel... unreached...
This is for me the most intense and passionate version. And also the most beautiful Jane Eyre...
...yes T+Z..
Alan Walkers I am agree with you
Yes its for me, too!!👍
This scene is so healing, I come here when I need hope.
I like this ending also, I thought it was very emotional especially the part where Mr. Rochester was so desperate to see Jane's face, that part made me cry a little.
"My heart will burst from want of seeing your face!" 😭😭😭
I think all the versions of Jane Eyre have their good points, mainly because they are all taken from the same excellent story. Zelah Clarke was too old to play Jane Eyre and it was so noticible.Timothy Dalton is the best mr.Rochester ever,no doubts.
No I think this is the best...by far...just a personal preference of course, so emotional, such good acting, and the interpretation is brilliant
@@tanya9779 It was still more faithful though.
I love this film very much
This is one passionate, determined, adorable Jane
This is my favorit version. I love it. Thank you for sharing.
What an amazing performance! True passion expressed in the most profound way by both actors! I love this version of 'Jane Eyre' - it surpasses every other I've watched!

the best version ever!
This makes me cry.....I love this story so much....beautiful story....
Wow! 😍They have the passion
What a love and tenderness. Incredible emotion. Acting so just and strong. Tears and regrets to have not known a love so great

@audreyhepburn652 I love the way Mr. Rochester's character is played in this version, very convincing!
I love Ciaran Hinds
Marvelous. By far the best version.
Rochester: Jane I have pink eye. How can you love me? I'm so hideous!
Jane: Sir, please stop being such a drama queen.

@blueeyes700 It's a beautiful scene, isn't it? I find it very moving. Ciaran and Samantha are so cute here! ^^
Mr. Ciaran Hinds played the role of Mr. Rochester best!
"You are not your wounds".
He is a great actor and she a very good actress. It's unfortunate neither he, she or the director read the book.
I really like this version but the ending feels rushed like the crew got tired of filming and said let's just hurry and get this done
Ashley Deaton if you saw the other versions ending you’ll find this ending perfectly fine 😊
@@anag7307 you are so correct. There are some rush through the the end far far worse than this.

This is a very good Jane......
Esse filme é de cair em lágrimas, história de amor linda.

Samantha Morton the best Jane.

There is just a sense of soul wrenching when a man cries like this.. It is utterly fucked up forgive me my expression..
@moonseed26 It's beautiful. I like it very much! :)
It should have been her as Jane and Timothy Dalton as Rochester... I watched all the versions, and it would have been the perfect duo.
Nah...Samantha Morton and Toby Stephens would be my perfect couple portraiting Jane and Rochester.
Samantha plays Jane as too "modern", with modern sensibilities and too much of explicit romance. Zelah Clark, while older actress, played a reserved orphan with a big heart better.
