- Thanks to @west3dprinting219 for supplying me with these Berserker MGN9H Linear Rails. These rails have a medium preload.
Full disclosure, I paid for these rails with my own money.

I got berserker rails for my build too!
Just installing them now, will see if they improve anything.
I bought Mitsubishi early access, so I knew this 😂
suggestion for another video, recopilation of all the mods you have done to your voron 2.4 and recomended mods
I did one recently that detailed all of the mods I had installed in the V2, but modding for me is a never-ending process, so it's hard to find an "end point" to record such a video.

It would be cool if you add the viesturs tool changer to your V2, its what I plan on messing with after I finish my V0 build
No promises, but I like that idea!
You've been told wrong.
You can and should achieve this by using more viscous grease.
Without such grease a carriage shouldn't be able to hold its own weight.
If it does, there's too much resistance and you'll be wasting power just overcoming it.
So they why do linear rail manufacturers offer a medium preload option then?
@@oldguymeltsplastic to compensate either flex under heavy load or expansion under high temperature.
Neither is applicable to a 3d printer.
I enjoy watching your upgrade videos. What is the x-axis beam?
It's this one from Funssor on AliExpress:

Another Great video (I like the short and sweet tell us what you learned style!!) and love West3d….I am not sure my wife agrees it’s the best way to keep my son in a supply of lollipops though!!! I saw a few discord chats you were looking into possible belted Z mod on you V0 build, did you ever go that way? Would love to see some more videos on the updates to it. I am wrapping up my Trident build heavily inspired by your videos (beacon, dragon burner, usb/can combo wire!!!) and next I am planning to do some mods on my V0.2! I am between full Pandora gantry and T0 Z or maybe some pandora hybrid (I like V0.2 tophat and electronics bay)
I have four 500 mm (!) 1515 extrusions on the way. The plan is to extend the inside space of the V0 up to make room for an internally mounted horizontal filament spool holder above the hotend inside the frame. I may go with Pandora for that build.
@@oldguymeltsplastic looking forward to this, the journey will make great video content!!!!!
Thanks for the info... I would love to know what you print on a day to day basis, meaning are you selling items, or is this just an expensive hobby :)
Currently, 95% of my prints are parts and mods for my printers, so it is just an expensive hobby right now. The goal is to get to the point where some of the printers are stable enough that I can start offering printing services.
I keep telling that to my wife LOL, she is not really believing me though. I appreciate all the great info you have out out thus far Thank you

How did the input shape graphs compare with the old rails?
I haven't finished the installation due to family obligations. I will let you know via a new video once I am done.
My guess is the smaller rails on that hollowed-out beam will be much worse than the stock parts. The Input Shaper result depends on stiffness, not low mass. Wider rails also seem to give best results to the point where the new Tap probe is going to use dual rails, to get an effective wider width. That said, let's wait for the actual results.
The gravity driven behavior of a rail/carriage set has a LOT to do with the rail wipers…. Then preload…
