    About This Channel:
My name is Nevern and I am a clinical psychologist who is passionate about teaching people how to become their own therapist, and that is exactly what this channel is about. There is a time and place to see a psychologist, but I believe that people have the capacity within themselves to solve many of life's challenges all on their own, with the right guidance. If you would like to empower yourself to take control of your own mental health through the secrets of psychotherapy, then consider subscribing.
    Disclaimer:
I always try to follow ethical guidelines by sharing scientifically sound, evidence-based and generic information, but any content on this channel is my own opinion and not that of the profession. Please do not share any personal information or ask questions about your own treatment. Rather, contact myself or another registered professional in private so that you can book a session. I do not follow anyone on my personal social media accounts. Also note that thorough assessment is needed to know whether these processes are appropriate for the person in the first place, so please contact a registered healthcare professional if you are in need of treatment, as there is no guarantee that these techniques will work for you.

100% dude. That bias is ingrained. Its like with investing or finance etc. For example, say you gain say 2,000 on a stock vs if you lose 2,000, you'll feel that loss waaaay more than you enjoy a gain of the same amount.

    It Chaos Theory.
Things - be they positive or negative occur when the conditions for that event permit it.
You'll get wet if you're out in the open, it starts raining and you have no umbrella.
You got the speeding fine on your way to work because the police officer has access to data and statistics that show that people in a hurry, at this time of day, take this alternate route to get to a destination on the other side of the city.
If you leave things to chance and take those gambles, you're more likely to "lose out" over those that are prepared.
To me, Murphy's Law serves as a cautionary tale. A reminder to be mindful of actions, and to be prepared as practical. An umbrella lives in the pocket of my car door, all year round. When my car reaches the speed limit, I set the cruise control on my car, only touching the pedals as the condition of the roads change (hills, lights, traffic, ect.)
I think it is possible that some misintepret as a negativity bias. But if you're prepared for the worst, everything bettter than that can be seem as a pleasant surprise. And if the worst happens, well, you were expecting that anyway and have planned for it, theoretically.

The way you explained is wrong Murphy law simply indicates What ever can happen will happen which we created to explain entropy as we explain entropy as a disorder and we correlate disorder as 'bad' Murphy doesn't mean anything bad can happen will happen in the greater end it means anything can happen will happen due to entropy also precived as time
