haha, Jomboy actually went to the game today, so it may take some time! LOL. Thanks for posting this though!! Fans come to watch players play, not watch umpires take over games. They need to not be so quick to throw players out. Alluding to Gardner, btw. Again, thanks for posting!!
How about pitchers, catchers, players and managers can eject umpires or issue warnings to umpires if they think they called a ball on purpose or a strike on purpose.
I think the reason why Brett Gardner was ejected for his bat banging was because Phil Cuzzi thought he was "showing up the umpires," which is an infraction that can get you ejected.
so you think that a player grabbing a bat and smashing the ceiling of the dugout is just acceptable behavior. They should be able to do that whenever they want.
I 100% agree with Gardner getting ejected here. You can’t reward bad-behavior like hitting the top of the dugout with your bat. It’s completely unnecessary. Everyone on the Yankees are wrong for thinking that’s okay behavior. Ejecting him teaches him that that kinda behavior isn’t accepted. Like a 5 year old throwing a temper tantrum. Btw this opinion is coming from a die-hard Yankees fan since 2007
4:45-4:53 Oh! Brett Gardner, you can't do that! You can't do that! You CANNOT do that! Rule for MLB: Never EVER bang the top of the dugout roof with a bat! Or else you'll get tossed!
a couple of things, the "homer announcers" do not understand. The umpires are responsible for the entire field area, not just live action, but dugouts, bullpens, warm up areas, press/camera wells, and grounds crew off field. The players yelling WANT to be heard, and the glancing over to acknowledge a shout is a non-threatening step toward saying STOP IT I HEARD YOU. Then the mask off, verbal warning. Boone came, out to get thrown out to save his player. It is theatrics, just like the fake explosion sounds rolling to replays. It is as much showmanship as it is sporting.
As much as I'm a Yankee fan, I couldn't agree more. And I loved Gardner as a player, but using the bat to hit the roof of the dugout is like a three-year-old throwing his toys in a temper tantrum. I wouldn't put up with it from a child - I certainly wouldn't put up with it from a grown man.
@@mahasw777 the whole thing was funny but quite immature and laughable behavior from a major league baseball player, he got what he deserved and learned the hard way not to do that nonsense anymore.
Wyndon Carlisle did it look like Gardner was yelling at him? No. And was Aaron Boone yelling that he needs to tighten up because that’s not an acceptable call. Yes, but to be looking into the dugout intentionally looking for confrontation instead of letting them express their frustration of an OBJECTIVELY BAD CALL, is poor umpiring.
Nick Wagner I’m only talking about the home plate umpire ejecting Boone. Can’t argue balls and strikes. Automatic ejection. That’s been the rule for a while now.
Wyndon Carlisle I’m aware and take no issue with that, I take issue with umpires waiting like a cat to pounce on the first justifiable ejection they can find rather than playing the game.
The umps are pathetic, looking into the dugout before anything is said. The umps are. The ones looking for trouble BUT as much as I love Gardner come on man, really hitting a roof with a bat ? 1 time in Toronto ok. But now come on. At least yell
Agree with everything you said!! Although hitting the roof with a bat is, in my opinion, a bit childish from Gardner, he's just showing emotion. When players mess up on the field, such as a pitcher giving up a home run, and then they take out their frustration in the dugout, they don't get thrown out!! It's only because Gardner is upset at the umpires and those umpires get their feelings hurt that he gets thrown out!! How can they affect the game like that just because Gardner is showing emotion? I think it's just unacceptable. It could've really affected the Yankees. Had to move Thairo Estrada, a middle infielder, to right field because of that ejection. Totally unacceptable by the umpires. But again, a bit childish from Gardy.
It is petty to look into the dugout when you know you missed a call. However he looked over and warned someone. Likely Boone, because he’s going to yell and try to distract the umpire from seeing or hearing his players. That’s why of all people it was Boone ejected. MLB is such a timeless beauty of tempers and errors.
Man I love baseball. Kudos to the sound man playing “why can’t we be friends” hahaha It’s the age old fight. Teams vs umpires. Its just not one you can win in the sense of argument. They’re in charge. They’re not perfect, but they run the game. The teams merely play it. Boone did a good job of protecting his player by yelling loud enough to mask the others. I’d be willing to bet the men above the umpires told them to begin ejecting Gardner for that because it is unsurprisingly, well in their authority to do so. Anything deemed unsportsmanlike or in protest of the umpire’s decision is subject to ejection. Anything. Whether it’s worth getting into it with the yanks? Idk. Phil Cuzzi is as New Jersey as it gets. He’s not afraid to get into it with the Yankees.
The Yankee (Gardner) who keeps hitting the dug out definitely should have been ejected. What do you want kids across the country thinking its ok to hit things like that in the dugout?
alordi2701 As shown on television, during the live broadcast of the game, neither kids nor adults could see Gardner hitting the dugout roof. It wasn’t shown. It was only after the ejections occurred that the footage was shown, Besides, what’s so bad about hitting the dugout roof? Are you also going to advocate ejections for those players who slug water coolers? Pug-leeze get real.
How about just let the players in the dugout yell and vent and don't be staring at them looking to throw someone out for venting. If they don't come out onto the field to argue with the Umpire directly, the Umpire shouldn't have a problem with them chirping from their own dugout. Let them vent and get it out of their system in their own dugout. It's good for the game and for the player.
@@tadmartinson1147 Again, if the player or manager isn't coming out onto the field directly to get in the Umpires face and argue, there shouldn't be a problem with them chirping from their own dugout where the game can continue on uninterrupted.
These guys talking are the biggest homers ever. How bout instead of acting like a bunch of unruly kids you play the game like a professional. Everyone gets bad calls against them.

Really preffer this upload, cause it has the in-game audio.
pro tip: watch movies at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Randy Watson Yea, I have been watching on flixzone} for years myself :)
@5:02 Paul o Neil's comment about Gardners hitting his back "just trying to wake up the bats" one of the funniest commentary I've heard in a while 😂
O'Neill is brilliant!
How about we start fining umpires for making bad calls.
Osvert Lara wasn’t that bad just barely off the plate
@David Harrow a majority of these plays are from 2017- dont think there a whole lot to hate...that and there are far worse fan bases
They should have thrown out the umpire too
Thanks for the upload, what a horrible ump
yup. both him and senor Hernandez....

So your throwing Yankees players out for something that happened 4 weeks ago? Got it
