    In 2023, the pharmaceuticals and health products industry in the US spent the most on lobbying efforts, totaling to about 379 million U.S. dollars. In the same year, the insurance industry spent about 157 million U.S. dollars on lobbying. IMO, the vast majority of this money was not spent to improve patient care but was targeted at increasing profits and reducing competition.

    I have noticed throughout the years, that medical staff, true, boots on the ground, medical staff are never consulted on these "major issues". The insight would be invaluable of common, everday waste from EMS not being paid r/t abuse of the system to unavailability of transport for critical patients to ER's over run with non emergent visits which take time away from those true emergencies. Understaffing, overworked physicians and nurses being subjected to violence daily and the never ending denials of insurance claims of those actually working. We work sick, no lunches...on 12 hour shifts without medications we need.. due to denial by insurance. It has been, for years a crushing environment with secrets. You keep them or be fired and not feed your family.
    CEO's? Do you really believe law makers and CEO's and all your other "sources" care about what's really going on?...Please...
    It's out of control, it's been out of control and everyone sat back and let it happen.

      My 2-year-old grandson walked around the house vomiting and acted like he was drunk bouncing off the walls. For 10 months play healthcare provider just kept telling us that he had a virus. I asked her to give him a CAT scan but I suspected there was something wrong inside his brain. She laughed at me and told me that she was the healthcare professional and then it would be poor judgment on my part to question her. 10 months later we found out that what it was was atrt brain cancer. The people at St Jude said he had a very good chance of surviving if it had been caught sooner. 7 years ago I started having a lot of abdominal pain. The first doctor I saw informed me but it was HPV. He informed me there was nothing that could be done about it. Over the last seven years I've gone to four different doctors and just last month I was told that no you do not have HPV. It is uterine cancer. Once again if it had been caught in time I would have had a chance of survival. These doctors do not want to make us well because they will not get as much money.

      What I'm saying is some people just want everything given to them.
      Nothing is for free.
      Not even freedom.
      Insurance is needed but it needs to be reasonable and of course not for profit.
      And doctors determine what one needs.
      But your needs aren't mine and mine not yours.
      Taxes/ Government for things you mentioned are for the benefit of all.
      And I should say that those government parks have rules.
      You just can't go wherever you want or do what you want in them. They are controlled and regulated by the government.
      So if you want the government paying for all your health needs then you better bet they'll regulate what you eat, implement some sort of exercise program that you must do.
      Telling you what activities by the risk of said activities.
      Control of alcohol you drink.
      Control of everything you take into your body.

      I mean you can't drive a vehicle without having insurance that you have to pay for.
      Be careful what you wish for.
      I think of the movie the devils advocate when thinking of what government controls and does not.
      You can look but don't touch kinda deal.

    • @LabyrinthMole
      @LabyrinthMole 56 минут назад

      @@Annie-t7m9w So, anyone can visit a public park and drive on interstate even when they are unemployed. You're not paying a single cent to do either of those things. We know the government can afford to pay for it, like they can our military. Although, our government gives hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine and Israel each year without batting an eye, even though they can't afford that. That's probably the main reason we don't even have a public discussion on single-payer healthcare. The other would be the sponsors for corporate owned media preventing discussion on that as well.
      I'm not going to worry too much about regulations of corporations. They get plenty of government subsidies (corporate welfare) in their favor. They like those kinds of regulations.

      @Annie-t7m9w 44 минуты назад

      A public park yeah you can visit them for free when they are open.
      State parks you pay and you can't do anything you want. And they close as well so you can't go anytime.
      And I wish our government would stop sending money to other countries.
      You can't drive anywhere including interstates without a license or insurance.
      You have to pay for and take a test for a license and you have to pay insurance.
