Hey buddy it's been awhile just making my rounds watching content and ads 👍nice rod I always enjoy watching you fish all the way to the end hope all is well in your world
cheers buddy. Your comments are always very much appreciated. Thanks again
Great day out buddy. Nice looking rod too and some tidy fish to boot
cheers buddy. It is a nice rod
I'm here in the US and have the same SKY G, it's simply an amazing rod. A couple of months back I tied into a number of 6lb rainbows one afternoon and the rod handled everyone flawlessly. The only thing I don't like about the rod is the tip is a bit too fast for smaller streams. When I'm fishing smaller streams, with smaller trout, I tend to use a Lamson Purist 9' 4wt. They're very inexpensive here in the US, so they won't likely break the bank in NZ.
I've used the SKY G a couple of times now from the flyshop since I had it on loan. I enjoyed it, light and felt very good in the hand and very accurate. The tip is a little fast I feel for a 5 weight in small streams, the really delicate waters, softer tip would be better but all and all a very good rod though. It has enough grunt to contain the bigger hard fighting fish with aplomb.
Beautiful stream and fish
Thank you for watching
Solid day of fishing. Looks like the day was a cracker mate
Yeah good to get out and test out the new rod I had on loan. Beaut day too
Great fishing once again. Nice rod also
Cheers buddy
I enjoyed watching that video nice bit of water ...the colors of the stones must make fish spotting difficult.
The browns have many different markings compared to the rainbows.
Cheers
Browns are creatures of there environment. There markings and colouration vary from not only different streams but from different runs and pools at times for instance you'll find browns in a willow aligned section with plenty of cover, more often than not are a goldy colour. Fish that are in a more open valley section of water are a lot more silvery with a green back on them at times. They're a different beast to the rainbows. But you can get some lovely looking rainbows at times too as you know. Cheers John
Hell yeah.. your footage is some of the best anywhere!!
Thank you buddy. Your comments are very humbling as always.
Hey man long time good to see ya
Great to have a comment from you buddy, much appreciated.
❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the video. What reel are you using. Is that the 9’ 5 wt
9' 5wt rod and the reel I'm using is a Olive Lamson Guru. Thanks for watching the video buddy
This makes me dizzy!
Sadly, I would agree. New camera, and it's a camcorder trying to turn it into a gopro by attaching it to my cap. It's suited for a tripod because its stabilization is average, but I feel the audio is far better than a gopro and has fewer technical issues than the GP. Watch my more recent videos. I've found ways to adjust with that camera, and it's better. I'm ordering a better quality one for next season, too.
