Hey everyone, 3-4 year quest 2 user here: buy the quest 3. Let me explain myself. When I bought Into The Radius for my quest 2, I've played it so much that I have nearly 45 hours in it. The menu on the game was just that, a menu. It didn't feel special or anything else. Just select the save and start playing. But when I download it on my stepdad's quest 3 and booted it up, I was genuinely memorized by just the menu. I nearly came. Not to mention all the other features you've probably heard about, ya big nerd ;) So just buy it already, or steal your mom's credit card if you have to. You don't have to eat _all_ week, surely.
Imo the best option is the quest 3. Its a really great standalone device with support for pcvr. Not to mention 2x the gpu power of the quest 2 also better passthrough and mixed reality capabalities from the quest pro. Also its getting super resolution along with the new snapdragon xr2 gen chip having its own ray tracing. All of this for 500 dollars.
I have never experienced a problem installing any game on the Quest 2, simply buy and play. You can also uninstall and reinstall at anytime because your games are kept on Meta Cloud. Again I have never had and problems or heard of anyone having them before seeing this video. Yes I meet many Quest 2 users online when playing multiplayer games and no one has mentioned any problems so I am surprised by Eat Sleep VR mentioning this. He said thousands... hmm considering that the Quest 2 has sold more than 20 million units, someone should have posted installation problems, but nothing has been until this video.
I’m only basing it on my own experiences and on all the comments I received on the video I made about it - I still believe Quest 2 is the best platform and I’m looking forward to Quest 3
The Quest 2 and 3 and Pro do not need cables which is fantastic for taking them with you for parties or showing friends the Amazing World of VR. unlike other head sets , PlayStation Apple Vision, ect, maybe this is one reason the Quest 2 out sold all VR head sets combined, more than 20 million in 2022. Quest is the Leader in VR, and will remain King for a very long time.
What if I want VR just as goggles that i connect to pc? I don't need another 'computer' with games, I wanna goggles to connect to PC (doesn't mater if wirelessly or not) and let the VR be the display.
@@PinkeySuavoGet a Bigscreen Beyond. You do have to spend more money on baystations and controllers. Plus you need an IPhone for a facial scan so they can make the facial interface. You’ll be spending around $1,400 in total, but if you have controllers and baystations you’ll spend $1,000
Pico 4 Pro is the best choice, as it's only $50 more expensive than Quest 3. It's only available in China though. Even still though, I'd get a Pico 4 if I can't get the pro version.
Cleary you are ill advised about the Pico platform. Ive used the meta quest 2 with many add-ons such as the Bobo VR halo strap, VR cover, fans, elite straps etc. This headset is very uncomfortable and the picture quality is no where near as immersive ad the Pico. Pico do have lots of 3rd party accessories too. Look at AMVR for example - facial interface, controller grips, bobovr also sell their battery strap, AMVR have now also released a halo strap, and generally there are lots of 3rd party accessories for the pico platform now. The Pico store has matured and although not on par with the meta store it now features a huge library. This is the only weakspot. In my opinion the pico headset is amazing when it comes to picture quality, comfort and fitness. The only area where it lacks is the expansive content provided by the meta store.
I don't think you have used the Pico 4 much watching your comparison.. You mention the only reason you'd get it is if you want a cheap headset.. You seem to care more about fancy sounds and a pretty interface than the specs of the headset? The Pico 4 is a consumer grade pancake lens headset that's more comfortable than the Quest 2 or Pro, has a higher resolution than the Quest 2, motorized IPD adjustment and full colour passthrough. So you get the Pico 4 when you are looking for an affordable standalone VR headset that has a much better display, is more comfortable and works really well with PCVR. Downsides are that the content library isnt as large as that from the Quest and fancy sounds i guess, but who cares about that second point except you?
i sold my quest2 and bought a pico 4, best decision in VR hardware i ever made, way better gfx quality than quest2 and since i only play PCVR i don't care about the apps
@TheSateef iv just brought the pico 4 , hopefully the right choice for me , I had a psvr years ago but found it too heavy and I got alot of motion sickness was worried the meta quest was going to be the same.
I have so many friends that are not gammers, there is so much content constantly uploaded for the Quest series so forget gaming , check out RUclips VR, 360 experiences and AMAZING VR at a very low price. Whew the Oculus line is Mind-Blowing.
Thanks - Yeah I paid full price, I was gutted when they slashed it to £999 - glad that you took advantage of this price though. I must look into a mod for the strap.
Please review the PS5 headset. Have the quest 2 and I'm not loving it. Purchased it for my kids, but it wont cast, so I cant see what they are doing. I actually really regret purchasing it and may return it.
I returned my psvr2 - I found the images to be soft and unimpresssive and the games were over priced. The best way to cast with the quest 2 is to buy a google chromecast or your tv may have one built in.

Who cares about video games. I'd like a VR office. Instead of a double side by side monitor setup, one massive monitor in the virtual office displaying the contents of a single monitor. Maybe it could be a hologram on a space ship with a panoramic view of a sci fi city with ambient sounds playing constantly for full immersion. Or a fantasy setting, high above the clouds on a balcony attached to a white tower with blue teal colored roof tiles and vines crawling up the wall. The technology is wasted on ugly boring party games. I think a virtual office could increase productivity as long as it's not too hard on the eyes.

You are spot on, and thanks for pointing it out! I'm tired of all the hyperbolic RUclipsrs trying to sell these modern headsets when there are essentially no new games for them. I tried my hand at game development for PCVR and honestly have to admit that it is a nightmare to optimize, especially with the current trend of increased resolution headsets. I think VR gaming is soon to be dead due to the lack of novelty and innovation. However, it is still useful for other things than gaming.
The Quest 2 pass through gray scale is SO MUCH BETTER than this blurry image example in this video. We are waiting for the Quest 3 which will Rock the entire world.
