The bike has been in my life since I was a teen. I'm 64 now and I'm starting to see the end of the tunnel you might say. I can tell that all the things these people were saying is coming to an end . When? I don't know for sure but I'm riding as much as I can as often as I can because it is part of me. It is my best friend. I don't know of any other thing in this world that can take it's place.
I catch myself around 4am in bed planning in my mind this mornings route and when all done I try to go back to sleep but as always I cannot fall asleep again, I'm out on the road and trails by 430am, I'm addicted.
Cycling is the best way to escape from the dizzy crowd and busy work. I love climbing a lot, because everything just went slow and smooth, I can talk to the trees, the birds or myself. I feel ultimately relief on my saddle.
They all love cycling , it's the same for me,it's not about how far and fast you go but about getting out there. Rapha videos hit the spot every time !!
Core... I can see why Rapha chose these riders to represent that value. Some meditation has nothing to do with standing still, thanks for reminding me of that.
It's nice to know that one's not alone in those thoughts that they have on the road with no one else around, no one else listening, when there's nothing to stop you from pulling over for some relief, but something inside you says, keep going until you can't. Then when you do stop, the pain isn't any less, but it feels gooder (yeah, I just made that word up) and it's a guilt free break. Your only competition is yourself.
So inspiring to hear everyone sharing what cycling means to them. I definitely relate to "Cycling is not a physical thing for me. It's more like a mental thing." Bull's eye. I love cycling.
I've watched this more times than I can remember. I always love Rapha's videos. As an amateur filmmaker and cyclist, I'm always so impressed by these little films. I can definitely relate to these riders, thank you for sharing their stories!
I’m 53 years old, been riding since I was 10. Enjoying the process of cycling is all consuming- a personal experience like no other. I’m emotionally/mentally/spiritually attached, been a hell of a ride- hopefully it’ll last a few more decades
SO GOOD! As a beginner commuter cyclist, I appreciated the fact that I could relate to what these people are talking about. But at the same time, it subconsciously made me want everything that everyone is wearing LOL you guys are clever
BOOM!!! Rapha is finally back... that's what it's about. You'd lost your way (in my opinion) the last couple of years, now this is more like it - Bravo!
Jake Lewis I agree, cycling for the people in the firm is 'emotional, personal thing' a lot of my friends think that a load of pretentious, sanctimonious crap. 'Cycling takes me to a higher state of consciousness, where I forget all the troubles of the world - you just don't understand it, so therefore because you don't get it, I am superior to you'... Rapha is nice stuff. Expensive but great quality.... but they are selling an image as well as clothing..... I don't want to look into the meaning of cycling and why I do it. If you think about ' it being personal an unique, and escaping to a self contained bubble' you will miss all the fun. Just go out, have fun, enjoy the scenery, have a cup of tea and cakes with your mates..... don't think about it too much.... the videos are very beautifully shot, the scenery, music, editing draw you in and trap you. But I just think they are talking such a load of bollocks. But I suppose it is subjective....
It was mainly weight loss for me, 32lbs so far. But it is changing into more than that now, the land is not flat at all here, many rolling hills close together. Each one hurts, each one calls....I answer. It has begun. ( or am I nuts )
THE ONLY PART CONFUSING in this video is the girl saying that some days she hates her bike. I ride a lot too, but I don't recall a day I hate my bike. I recall a moment I hated my bike, it was 120 miles into a 9k feet climbing day, at hour 7:00:00, I started to wonder why I was putting myself through it... then 2 days later (and after taking one day off) I was in the best shape of my life. 2 months later I was winning a race (even though I am usually one of the fast guys around, I am not much of a racer. I cant stand the dumb dudes throwing their bikes on you). I am not of a Rapha kind of rider. I like to ride for the love and pleasure of it. I like to see things, I don't mind taking pulls to pull the lazy guys that never want to pull, they like to save it for that final popular stretch, but still, even after pulling them to the sprint, I will still beat all of them if not most of them... Cycling has changed my life and health, for better
I must be crazy,,, I work the grave yard shift,,, (air traffic control) and once I get home I’m looking forward to my bike ride before I go to sleep,,,
@raphafilms great video! inspiring. could you please tell me the track names used in this? especially that ambient one used in this and also in the collections film . thanks
Very nearly an effective marketing video, I only just managed to steer myself away from Manchester CC the day after the campaign launched, a decision I kind of regret.
This is all about the pure simplicity of cycling but I’m more into the style thing, you know, image, the best gear, the fanciest bike, the coolest coffee shop. So I don’t think Rapha is for me.
I’m probably coming into the cycling community because I suffered a fracture in my ankle from running. I love running, for me it does all this as the above video, albeit lower barrier to entry. The only thing that keeps stopping me from cycling is the constant shopping for the “perfect” bike. Getting an entry level road bike is a waste of money IMO. You won’t love it after a couple weeks and you’ll want to upgrade within the year. This is what bugs me. Cycling is so gear and fashion based. Sure you DONT HAVE TO follow the trends but everyone knows that when you look good you feel good which transfers into the cranks.
The bike has been in my life since I was a teen. I'm 64 now and I'm starting to see the end of the tunnel you might say. I can tell that all the things these people were saying is coming to an end . Is this Greg Lemond?
“It’s not a physical thing for me, it’s definitely more mental or emotional thing”. Well said.
I catch myself around 4am in bed planning in my mind this mornings route and when all done I try to go back to sleep but as always I cannot fall asleep again, I'm out on the road and trails by 430am, I'm addicted.
Medical diagnosis: obsessive compulsing cycling disorder. Best feeling in the world.
Cycling is the best way to escape from the dizzy crowd and busy work. I love climbing a lot, because everything just went slow and smooth, I can talk to the trees, the birds or myself. I feel ultimately relief on my saddle.
Could not agree more!
Or out of it ;)
I will never tire of this video. I've lost count of how many times I've watched it now...
in there
They all love cycling , it's the same for me,it's not about how far and fast you go but about getting out there. Rapha videos hit the spot every time !!
+Dean Colclough Great to hear, Dean. See you on the roads.
+Rapha Films who is the irish lad ?
+Damian Connor Ultan is a designer here at Rapha.
+Kitty Pemberton-Platt is he from Dundalk?
Cycling is Freedom
This is branding, but I almost forgot it. Because this is really really good.
Core... I can see why Rapha chose these riders to represent that value. Some meditation has nothing to do with standing still, thanks for reminding me of that.
1:55 sound flying by is awesome
Watching this before my morning ride.
It's nice to know that one's not alone in those thoughts that they have on the road with no one else around, no one else listening, when there's nothing to stop you from pulling over for some relief, but something inside you says, keep going until you can't. These are my brothers and sisters. This is the perfect expression of me. Thank you Rapha.
1:55 - 1:58 That sound is what it's all about.
True that :)
So inspiring to hear everyone sharing what cycling means to them. I definitely relate to "Cycling is not a physical thing for me. It's more like a mental thing." Bull's eye. I love cycling.

nice video.....I have been cycling from the age of 4 to date.it makes me just HAPPY.....
Cycling save my life
SO GOOD! As a beginner commuter cyclist, I appreciated the fact that I could relate to what these people are talking about. But at the same time, it subconsciously made me want everything that everyone is wearing LOL you guys are clever
That’s me😊, thanks cycle brothers and sisters and Rapha for keeping the spirit alive🙏
i LOVE CYCLING IT FREES MY BODY AND MIND.
BOOM!!! Rapha is finally back... that's what it's about. You'd lost your way (in my opinion) the last couple of years, now this is more like it - Bravo!
Great video. Especially the scenes with the puppy that wants to bite the shoes!
The pedaling is the meditation. I'm lucky to cycle and kayak ,the repetition, of movement is the key.
Stay in the moment.
Nice video. I love bikes.
The transitions in the first two minutes of this film are brilliant!
Great vid, love it. Rapha ads always make me want me to just leave work and go ride.
+Reality33 Great to hear. We'll see you on the roads.
I think I've watched this one about 6 times now. thanks Rapha!
I'm new to cycling and Rapha definitely inspired me a lot.
Cycling isn't an escape from everyday life enabling me to work harder/clearer/better. It seems to work for these poets.
Jake Lewis I agree, cycling for the people in the firm is 'emotional, personal thing' a lot of my friends think that a load of pretentious, sanctimonious crap. Thanks for this. Agree with the sentiments, beautifully captured... Loved it
Man, in what kind of utopia does rapha videos take place? If only life here is that simple
It was mainly weight loss for me, 32lbs so far. But it is changing into more than that now, the land is not flat at all here, many rolling hills close together. Each one hurts, each one calls....I answer. It has begun. ( or am I nuts )
Beautiful Benotto ,,,,,, while cycling I discovered a river 3 km away from my house ,,, cycling is good for your health as well.
Loved each second of it! And felt it too
"The only thing you pay is calories" lol...not if your addicted to buying Rapha!

she is a pro with Canyon//SRAM. So i get Why she hates her bike sometimes, it is the same for me, if I feel I have to ride I Don't want to ride.

What’s interesting is that I can relate to everything they’re saying. I guess that’s why we all ride. There’s nothing like it.

I must be crazy,,, I work the grave yard shift,,, (air traffic control) and once I get home I’m looking forward to my bike ride before I go to sleep,,,
I like her attitude to hill bombing, ' when you're in control and loseing it at the same time. '
wow! this video captured all my thoughts and emotions about cycling.. weird
@raphafilms great video! inspiring. could you please tell me the track names used in this? especially that ambient one used in this and also in the collections film . thanks

Model name?
+Sivert Svanberg This is Tiffany Cromwell. She rides for Canyon//SRAM.
Very nearly an effective marketing video, I only just managed to steer myself away from Manchester CC the day after the campaign launched, a decision I kind of regret.

'You only pay with calories' that's funny, because actually..
Sums it up for me
Now if I can get my wife to watch this......
Did everyone forget their glasses?
