I love every video where you say that the large watch trend is coming to an end! And then I look down at whichever of my 43mm watches that I am wearing. :)
I have worn my Black Bay 36 nearly everyday for the last 18 months - it is simply outstanding! It has scratched any itch of even looking at other watches. The fabric strap that was supplied is the best fabric strap I've ever owned, incredible quality. Many years from now the Tudor Black Bay 36 will be regarded as a highly sought after watch. Tudor stunned people by announcing a 36mm sport watch when everyone else was producing 42mm and up. The idea of keeping a top grade ETA movement in it was extremely smart - keeps cost down, will make servicing even easier down the road, and ample parts to source. The build quality of the BB36 is on par with the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39 that I owned. There's nothing I can say poorly about the BB36.
Excellent video, but here's my take on the watch... I have this watch...I see no negatives, only positives. For me, the BB36 is the perfect watch! It not only features the top variety ETA 2824, but it has been heavily modified by Tudor, with extra shock protection and other features not found on the typical, even high-grade ETA 2824. Tudor have really worked on this, they didn't just regulate it or add decoration to it. The crown sticking out too far? Not at all! I've been wearing this, on my left wrist, pretty much every day since last October, and have had ZERO problems with the crown on the wrist. It doesn't dig into my flesh (and I have the watch on fairly tight) at all, it doesn't feel any different to any other watch in that regard, so no con there IMO. Haven't noticed any problem with legibility of the watch, so whether there is or isn't any AR coating hasn't been an issue. It's about the most legible watch out there, haven't noticed any major issues with glare at all. Another non-con for mine. Does this watch have an identity crisis? Of course not! It's one of the most versatile luxury watches on the market, making it an invaluable addition to anyone's collection. It works superbly well as a sport watch, a watch you can wear while swimming or out on adventures, but it's also subtle enough for use as a dress watch (better than the similar Rolex Explorer in that regard, as it lacks the much more casual looking 3, 6 and 9 numerals on the dial), slipping very comfortably underneath a shirt cuff. It fits for just about every situation life throws at you. You can't say that about just any watch, but this watch does exactly that. For me, it's the perfect watch! Too conservative? Sorry, I don't even know what that means. The dial is perfect, simplicity at its very best, aesthetically pleasing and perfectly balanced, and the case size is perfect, and not just for the smaller wrist IMO. That's conservative? Nonsense! If this is meant as a con, I don't understand it at all, and perhaps you don't fully understand this watch, TGV, if that's your way of thinking. Again, excellent video, but your cons just don't add up to me. Cons for con sake, perhaps?
Spot on. Just got a BB GMT. I'm waiting for this and the 41 to go in-house movement. As soon as they do, I'll get 41 for myself and 36 or smaller for my wife.
I have to agree with almost everything you have said. I have a Black Bay 41 and also a Explorer 41mm and the Tudor is better in every way imho. The dial is crisper, the steel bracelet is more comfortable, and it keeps better time than the COSC certified Explorer. The only issue I have with the 36mm is the size of the applied hour markers. They are too big in proportion to the case size. Its compounded by the fact that the silver coloured surrounds on the hour markers kind of blend in to the lume, which makes the hour markers look even bigger than they are. This problem goes away with the 41mm, which is way better proportioned.
I'm sorry but his criticisms do hold some weight. The crown sticking out unprotected is a problem for people who use their hands. Otherwise I do like the watch.
This is a dress watch that can take a dunking and/or beating and still tell you the time in the dark. I like the concept. As a small wristed dude I appreciate the size. Black band and you could wear it to a formal wedding; while being tee-shirt casual on a nato. Pretty cool.
It's a Tudor version of the Explorer, but they've given it that extra Tudor magic by giving it the classic BB dial & hands. Def a great addition to the Tudor line-up.
I bought the BB36 last week on the bracelet. I couldnt be happier. It takes all the points I love from the Sub and the Explorer and gives an amazing every day casual/dress watch with that classic rolex oyster feel. For the money, you get a perfect every situation classic watch with a timeless charm. And you can dive with it if you want. Looks perfect with my Dinner Jacket Black Tie, works well with my Levis and T shirts and goes great with a Sport Jacket and Loakes. Its my perfect do it all watch. Love it to death.
Very close to pulling the trigger on this! Just love the size and overall simplicity of it really. As a carrier of small wrists, just fantastic for me. So happy you reviewed this!
Ross Anthony agreed, didn't mean to say it like that. What I meant was as someone with small wrists, i don't like wearing the bigger watches. Even 40 to me is a bit much personally, where as people with bigger wrists can comfortably go bigger or smaller ya know. But yeah, 36 is amazing for anyone
It's interesting you said it's almost the only watch you'll ever need. I think you meant it is but was afraid of commitment. Lol. Anyhow, GQ put out a very compelling article several months ago as to why the air-king is the only watch a man will ever need. This was before this black bay 36 started gaining attention. I think Tudor owns this now. As for the crown, it's part of its DNA so I'm glad it's there and have no problem with the size. In fact, if you own this watch, which I do, you should be open minded about size or return it quickly. What I also would like to point out, is we are now looking at the next generation of vintage watches and I think Tudor knows this and just planted a very big seed in future brand recognition. This will have a cult following for sure.
This is a watch i've been eyeing up for about a year now. Currently, the Seiko range has been my limit. Tudor would certainly be a huge jump and a big purchase
Go for it, you wont regret it. I mean Nothing Seiko makes is close to Tudor except the SLA line and ofc GrandSeiko. You can get Blackbay model from 2 grand onwards on the used market and make it your do it all watch.
Currently I wear a laurel alpinist as my daily but the bb36 has been growing on me for a while now....and pp credit puts it within reach of my meagre means....
My friends who are not into watches think it's a Seiko. My friend who is little into watches thought it was a Rolex at first. And that's the best thing about it. Understated. Things that I really LOVE about it? Snowflake hour hand (duh), superbly designed dial with pleasing proportions and the "ROTOR SELF-WINDING" typography that adds a little quirky smile to the dial. Sporty and in-your-face attitude on a bracelet, but subtle and elegant on a leather strap. It is my only watch. I'm so happy I decided to buy it :)
I just went into a Tourneau store and tried on a Blue Dial BB 41. This combination completely solved all the cons TGV spoke on. The Blue dial makes it much more legible without the AR. The bigger 41mm case blends better with the crown length, and the added pop of the blue dial really make this watch something special in my opinion. I am going to have this watch very very soon. It took all I had not to walk out with it on my wrist, but I’m sure I can find better deals online.
The flat sapphire glass makes it more difficult to damage. The domed ones look beautiful, but when the edge is banged on a hard surface, they will be damaged. So for a tool watch, having a flat glass is good.
This watch really is extremely appealing. I always wondered what would be the middle step of a collector's progression from the Alpinist to the Explorer, and I think you've found a good candidate.
Thank you Peter, I have to say that even with the negative, I am considering one. I might wait for a while and see if Tudor do any new versions. I would love a version with a rose on the dial and a domed sapphire. Best regards, TGV
Frank Dirscherl why is the rose being replaced by the shield? I feel like the rose has a closer identity to the name of tudor than the shield. I also like the rose more than the shield so it's a shame it wont be on this dial.
Working in a jeweller with tudor aswell. Have a lot of customers saying that 36mm feels a bit too small and 41mm a tad bit on the large size. Would be best if they had a 38mm to be honest. Grtz!

I loveeeeeeee my 36 no way in damn hell will i ever sell it. Of all my Tudors is my favorite. At first glance i was like damn that's small but after a few days on the wrist you really get used to it. Small watches really are the best. Light discreet forget its there unlike my other BB's im constantly reminded of the heavy chunky bastards are on my arm.
I have a tiny wrist and for years avoided wearing a watch because they were just so uncomfortable. After seeing your review I bought this watch today and it feels amazing. Not more crown in the back of my hand of painful wrist bone! Thanks for the helpful video!
I think the Black Bay 36 is clearly trying to be a explorer-esque watch. I was pretty disappointing with the size of the Tudor Ranger when it was released but I feel this watch is a step in the right direction,
Excellent review. I bought one today; I’d been looking for one for a few months. Compared this particular one on the leather strap with the new edition - got this one because of its aesthetics. Looking forward to all the adventures it will accompany me on.
Don't be hard on yourself for using words that are "made up". If I recall correctly Shakespeare "made up" a large portion of our common vernacular. Dictionaries are descriptive not prescriptive. Great video as always!
SO happy you did a video on this watch. I don't know if you've noticed but there aren't very many videos about this watch on RUclips. I have to agree with the point about the crown. That's the only thing holding me back. Apart from that, it truly is "almost perfect". I actually really like that it almost looks as if an Explorer and a Submariner had relations...
I think this watch's "identity crisis" is one of its strengths actually. It speaks to its versatility and its ability to go anywhere and do anything. It's like that person in high school who could hang out with any clique and get away with it. Sure their not best friends with any of them but they get along with all of them just fine. Poor analogies aside :D As I larger wristed fellow I'm in the market for the 41 to be my first everyday luxury piece.
Thanks. I've come back to see again, and after a year my opinion of this piece has held; a wonderful every day watch for many different situations. And I'm a fan of the no date which makes for perfect balance- if i want the date I've got the phone!
I'm a Black Bay 36 owner and it seems like my watch and the watch in the video have the same issue of slightly patchy lume at the hour hand's snowflake (look carefully at the middle portion of the snowflake during the lume shot). The Rolex Service Centre told me it was a batch issue. Other than that, I am really pleased with the Black Bay 36.
We went shopping for a BB for me Christmas; we left with a BB Red for me (in house) and a BB36 for my wife on a bracelet. We are both very happy indeed especially given the Brand gifts and a reasonable discount :) happy days!!!
I have just purchased a steel and gold 36 with a champagne dial. As a larger gent I took the risk with the 36.... all I will say is...Nailed it!!!! i think the steel and gold 36 is absolutely amazing date i say I'm in love with it more than my others (bit of a fan boy) great video.
Great review as always Tristano. I have owned this piece for about 2 months now and I have to say it keeps on giving every day. I fall in love with it over and over again. I strongly recommend trying it on the bracelet, it gives it a completely different personality.
Great video as always! I’ve had this watch over a year and now wear it the most often. At first I thought it looked a little brash and put a fabric strap on, then it wasn’t right either. Nor with a tan leather strap. Then a dark brown plain padded leather Geckota, which has suddenly made it look very much what it can be - a classic and refined yet rugged tool watch, that can be casual, smart, swim, or explore. It simply is Tudor’s version of Rolex’s Explorer, in the same way as the Black Bay dive watches are Subs. However - the Tudor divers don’t quite have the finish of a Submariner, but the 36 has an excellent finish. It is a very smart watch. I personally prefer the snowflake hands to the Rolex mercedes sign. Be warned the bezel picks up light swirl scratches whatever you do. I think it gets scratched by my shirt sleeves. But that goes with the rugged appeal the watch has. Also not forgetting the watch’s purpose: when fully wound, it keeps very good time. I clocked within a second a day, but this varies as it unwinds.
Just watched this again today as I am considering this as a daily. I just love the versatility and it seems to be getting even more popular. It made me chuckle when you said “I would love it if they release a Black Bay diver at 38mm with a rotating bezel, but I don’t think they are going to do that”. Please step forward Black Bay 58, maybe Tudor were listening to you?! (Ok, it’s a 39mm but oh so close!).
I really like this piece. I actually like it more than the Explorer. I really like that it doesn't have the diver bezel. I always think they're superfluous. I also like that it doesn't have a date window. The only thing I'm not keen in is the strap and clasp. I don't see the advantage over a normal strap buckle. It just seems an over complication. 36 would be too small for me so, it would be the 39mm for me. It may be my next watch. It's between this and the newer Nomos Club with 200mtr water resistance.
I had the rolex air king 14000 34 mm, it was too small for my 7.5 inch wrist. I looked at the oyster perpetual 39mm for $5700, the new air king for $6200 and the explorer for $6600. I decided on the tudor black bay 41 heritage with the steel bracelet. for $2950 dollars . that leaves me with more $$$ for other watches. this is a quality member of the rolex family of watches, I am very pleased with this watch.
I love when you talked about it being nice if only there was a BB diver in a smaller size. And then after, mentioning if there would be an in house movement. Not long after, all ours prayers would be answered with 58. The perfect diver and everyday piece.
I've ordered this watch from my local retailer after watching this video. So looking forward to put it on my wrist, however the waiting time is estimated to 3 months. Nevertheless, amazing video and review. Thank you!
I don’t think the bb58 is overrated. In house movement, 70 hour power reserve, perfect bezel action, perfect size for many, cosc certified and looks really good. All for less than 3k
This is a beautiful everyday tool watch. As you mentioned difficult to categorize...watches like this I refer to as " surf & turf " perfect for land or sea😊
To dive without a dive bezel, set your watch to 12 o’clock. Then re-screw the crown and when you hit the water, the minute hand can easily be observed as it hits the 15 or 20 minute mark, etc. I Only wish it had a date display.
I completely agree with you an all the positives and negatives, perhaps the reason why you find it boring is because its uses the same exact hands and indices as the BB, it would've been nicer if they brought the size down to the same as the pre maxi rolexes to give it a bit be elegance and maybe change the indices to a more dressy shape like batons perhaps?
This watch is flawless to me, all watches will have small areas that someone subjectively won't enjoy so much but there is nothing on this to deter me from getting it. It has to be seen on the bracelet though, that's where it really shines. It's genuinely enough to keep me from pining for a Rolex Explorer, Datejust or Milgauss. It's THAT good.
I Reckon it has AR coating under crustal but not on the top, as Rolex does. Other brands do double coating. Rolex says that it make it les prone to scratches. I do believe so, correct me if i'm mistaking
I would not change a thing. It's refreshing to finally see a smaller luxury size watch on the market. 40mm watches fit me perfectly, but I hate to see my friends miss out on great watches because of these large sizes. Now, if people would just go out and BUY THEM !!!
I just bought the 41 in Black. To me, absolute perfection. Bracelet, dial, size, movement, thickness, everything - just perfection. A perfect representation of the classic Rolex Oyster style. Even prettier than an Explorer!
It’s a crime not to buy this on the bracelet - the quality is incredible. I am a leather strap guy, really not into bracelets unless it is hot out, but I have yet to put my BB36 on leather - the bracelet is that good. Best watch ever. Serious Steve McQueen vibes, not sure why, but that’s how it strikes me. Buy one, you won’t regret it.
I would like to see a review of the Montblanc basic 1858 40MM two hander in blue. Davide Cerrato who designed the Tudor Black Bay is the designer at Montblanc now. He is bringing a Tudor/Minerva/Montblanc synergy together with a familiar look and feel.
This BB 36 is my first Tutor watch. In my opinion it looks much better on the oyster bracelet. Mine happens to have the silver dial and it is eye-catching with the stainless strap.
Do you know the reference number of the oyster bracelet? Just bought silver dial with leather strap as the deal was too good not to buy and thinking of sourcing oyster bracelet eventually
My next purchase, though it will be the 41. I love the minimalist dial, no date, no bezel. It is a beautiful watch. On a nato very explorer/field watch but on the bracelet or leather quite dressy. The only negative is lack of AR.
Awesome review as always TGV! I'm in love with this watch ever since its reveal. I think it could have the exact same domed crystal as the regular black bay. That would not only aid with eliminating some of the glare but would also give it a more vintage feel and even sexier looks best regards, Allan.
Explorer alternative and good one. Another spectacular intro and another great review. I am surprised you don't own this wtch. It has everything you appreciate. Thanks Tristano.
I've owned the silver dial, bracelet variant of this watch for a little over a year... I keep thinking about what my next watch might be, and I keep coming to the conclusion that the black bay 36 already has that use case / niche in my collection covered.
As an alternative one could also get the Certina DS Podium Powermatic 80 - e.g. reference C034.407.11.057.00. It costs less than 1k $ and has a longer power reserve, although most likely a lower grade ETA-movement. Not widely available in all countries.
1) Rolex doesnt apply AR on their crystals, hence the lack of AR on this watch.2) The bracelet is amazing - was planning to switch it out with a nato but after a few days of ownership, completely changed my mind.3) The watch comes with a Tudor fabric strap ( basically a pass through zulu) which has the nicest hardware on any nato I've come across.
if the crown was a little closer to the case and it had a movement window, this would truly be the penultimate watch! they have a 32mm now which is absolutely tiny lol. would like to know if u prefer the black or blue dial more.
Guys, if you are thinking of buying BB with the ETA movement. Just check out Monta watches. Especially Monta Noble. I think it's much better option. I'm not saying the BB is a bad watch. Monta is just a better deal with more details.
For enthusiasts who want a great brand that not only holds investment reasonably well, aesthetically it can be a watch for every occasion. This is it. I wish the rose returned on the dial though! I'm glad the Black Bays are bringing big crowns back. To me, that with the snowflake hands is enough personality to stay understated.
Hear hear. A domed crystal and gold tilted hands/prinitng with the rose I would buy it too!!! Great comment, thank you RJG. Best regards, TGV P.s. Is that Alan Watts as you profile pic?
The Urban Gentry Yes! I find myself twisting my wrist looking side on at domed glass watches throughout the day haha. It would be a welcome addition to this model. Indeed it is Mr Watts. Not a huge fan of 'self help' but his philosophy is light and his recorded seminars are entertaining. You can see by the glint in his eyes he preferred playful discussion. A great man who helped bridge Eastern philosophy to the West.
I have two issues with it: 1. The way the crown juts out. 2. The snowflake handset. If they were to change these two things, this watch would be a Rolex Killer (so they probably won't). If I were to suggest one more change, I would want there to be an option with a California dial.
Great review! I bought the 41 mm. I have a 7.25 inch wrist and felt it was a better fit. I like its conservative look and old school ETA movement. I think that at this size it's crown looks appropriate! I love the 41mm heritage black bey!
How do you know it is NOT COSC GRADE? The top grade is CHRONOMETER = COSC. My Breitling and Longines both perform identically. +2.5s/day avg. with 2824-2.
That oomph you're looking for is a rotating dive bezel. Let's admit it we've all been waiting for a small diver with class and prestige at an attractive price point. Now why they don't make it an official diver drives me crazy
Thanks TGV great review. I own the bb41. The only other feature I would like to see is a date at 6 o'clock color matched of course. I see this watch as conservative perfection. I will hand this down to my oldest Son. Until then, I will enjoy it's versatility!
What a lovely video. Informative and interesting. I own a Sub, a Seamaster and a Tag Monaco, Recently purchased a Black Bay heritage edition. Absolutely love it, Great watch. Great brand, Great video. Many thanks
I have the silver dial on bracelet. I also have a big wrist (7.4). It wears like a vintage OP and is dressier than the black and blue versions in MHO...
Great video mate. Thanks for that. We definitely need more watches made at that size. 36mm is king for smaller wrists!
Hey hear!
Thank you Michael,
Best regards,
TGV
I love every video where you say that the large watch trend is coming to an end! And then I look down at whichever of my 43mm watches that I am wearing. :)
Brushed case would’ve been 100 times better.
I have fairly chunky wrists, and still wear a seiko 5 36mm. It looks great. Large watches look clumsy.

Another poor punter in denial of BB36 being a poor man's Explorer 🤷🏽♂️

Classy and understated, I absolutely love it! I largely agree with the negatives but not enough to put me off..so versatile and practical.
Thank you Peter, I have to say that even with the negative, I am considering one. I might wait for a while and see if Tudor do any new versions. I would love a version with a rose on the dial and a domed sapphire.

The rose on the dial isn't coming back. Tudor have been removing it from their watches. Enjoy it on the crown.
Frank Dirscherl why is the rose being replaced by the shield? I feel like the rose has a closer identity to the name of tudor than the shield. I also like the rose more than the shield so it's a shame it wont be on this dial.
Don't know why they're doing it. Possibly because it looks better? I think it does at any rate.

Thomas Clark-Watson How are you liking it after a month or so?
I love this piece so much! Everything is balanced perfectly, it is discreetly beautiful and a great price for such a great watch.
Rewatched this recently-at 39mm with a bezel, I bet you are thrilled about the newly announced BB fifty eight!
I think the Black Bay 36 is clearly trying to be a explorer-esque watch. I was pretty disappointing with the size of the Tudor Ranger when it was released but I feel this watch is a step in the right direction,
Haven’t seen a watch look as good on your wrist, TGV. Glad Tudor are making a watch at this size.
Excellent review. I bought one today; I’d been looking for one for a few months.
Compared this particular one on the leather strap with the new edition - got this one because of its aesthetics. Looking forward to all the adventures it will accompany me on.
congrats on the new piece! hope you wear it a lot, wore mine for 4 years already straight and my one and only watch collection
They should've made the Ranger in this size
I would love that. My guess is it would hurt explore I sales
They should have made a 39mm version of the Ranger.
Totally agree, I was thinking exactly the same thing, the face on the ranger looks ridiculously big
They listened
I'm from the future and boy do I have some news
Wow..I'm drooling over this. I'm in love.
My most favorite watch. Got the Bb58 too, sold it and kept my BB36
The BB36 is the perfect everyday watch! I love mine to bits. Lol
i hope you'll have a review on that piece
Thanks. I've come back to see again, and after a year my opinion of this piece has held; a wonderful every day watch for many different situations. And I'm a fan of the no date which makes for perfect balance- if i want the date I've got the phone!
Three weeks ago I said I would take it with it's faults, I pulled the trigger and couldn't be happier. Now I need a 37 38 diver to complete my set.
I wonder why he mentions it is certainly not a field watch, it even competes with the Explorer.
That’s what I was thinking.
For me the best everyday watch and the perfect size!
Amazing reviews btw!
Perfectly said TGV. Exactly how I feel and glad you helped me confirm my suspicions.
The only con in my opinion is, the huge gap between the case and the strap is a put off. Perfect on original bracelet.
I wish it were an open case back to see the nice looking movement.
Except for the crown sticking out and the lack of A-R coating, it’s perfect.
I love when you talked about it being nice if only there was a BB diver in a smaller size. And then after, mentioning if there would be an in house movement.
Not long after, all ours prayers would be answered with 58. The perfect diver and everyday piece.
I purchased this quite recently. Really good watch! Wish they did one in 34mm as it wears more like a 38 than a 36 IMO and I like smaller watches
The perfect, classic watch. Winner!
I've ordered this watch from my local retailer after watching this video. So looking forward to put it on my wrist, however the waiting time is estimated to 3 months.
Nevertheless, amazing video and review. Thank you!
The 39.5 mm PO sits nicely between the bb 36 and bb red! I love mine😎
I have yet to try one myself, how is the height?
Thank you Stephen :D Enjoy!
Best regards,
TGV
TGV; please do a Black Bay 58 (39mm) review!!!!! Cheers
THIS!
Nah, too overrated a watch the BB58 is. Waiting list for that? No thanks.
Funny Diecast What is”overrated” about it?
I don’t think the bb58 is overrated. In house movement, 70 hour power reserve, perfect bezel action, perfect size for many, cosc certified and looks really good. All for less than 3k
@@sodiri81 may i know where you found it under 3k ? thats a great price
This is a beautiful everyday tool watch.
As you mentioned difficult to categorize...watches like this I refer to as " surf & turf " perfect for land or sea😊
Great video. Just ordered the BB 41 with stainless band. Can’t wait for it to arrive
Excellent video Sir. This big crown sticking out has in fact also worried me, as I strongly value comfort in wearing a watch.
The intros to your videos are always amazing! Keep up the great work.
Thank you sir :D
Best regards,
TGV
I Reckon it has AR coating under crustal but not on the top, as Rolex does. Other brands do double coating. Rolex says that it make it les prone to scratches. I do believe so, correct me if i'm mistaking
I would not change a thing. It's refreshing to finally see a smaller luxury size watch on the market. 40mm watches fit me perfectly, but I hate to see my friends miss out on great watches because of these large sizes. Now, if people would just go out and BUY THEM !!!
Proper military field watches are not large watches. They are compact so as to not snag on clothing and to not get in the way when moving.
The BB36 should have the gilt dial and hands from the Heritage Black Bay and the same riveted bracelet. That would take it one step further.
Beautiful buckle but I see your point. At first I thought the crown was left unscrewed it sticks out so far! But a nice watch and great review!
Thank you so much :D
Always appreciated.
Best regards,
TGV
Great watch - was really thinking of getting one myself, but decided to wait until Basel - they are to announce some new releases.
Same boat here.
Have the Tudor black bay blue, hope to hang onto it
Nice one Daniel, enjoy it, that blue is stunning.
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Please keep the videos coming Tristano, my salvation from a long day at work
I would like to see a review of the Montblanc basic 1858 40MM two hander in blue.
The@@ecco2k771
Rolex doesn't put AR coating on any of their watches.
Not true
My next purchase, though it will be the 41.
I love the minimalist dial, no date, no bezel. It is a beautiful watch.
On a nato very explorer/field watch but on the bracelet or leather quite dressy.
The only negative is lack of AR.
All your negatives are my positives, it is very nice piece, it will be my next watch. Thanks for your efforts.
I like it. A real GADA with extra WR. The crown gives it a quirky character.
Awesome review as always TGV! I'm in love with this watch ever since its reveal. I think it could have the exact same domed crystal as the regular black bay. That would not only aid with eliminating some of the glare but would also give it a more vintage feel and even sexier looks
best regards,
Allan.
I love the coloured crown tube, but will never understand why it sticks out so much... Great video as always!
Funny you disregard it being a field watch, while visually it reminds me a lot of the Hamilton Khaki family. Nice video !
Explorer alternative and good one. Another spectacular intro and another great review. I am surprised you don't own this wtch. It has everything you appreciate. Thanks Tristano.
Thank you Mike, good point! I think the problem is there is just too many amazing watches I desire and too little money ;-)
Best regards,
TGV
Spot on! such a shame about the AR coating. Thank you so much for adding that, loved the fabric strap that came with my BB :D
Best regards,
TGV
I think it looks like a Rolex explorer , I like it
After weeks of looking at Rolex, ive decided i want this!
A great choice. Enjoy it!
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
if the crown was a little closer to the case and it had a movement window, this would truly be the penultimate watch! they have a 32mm now which is absolutely tiny lol.
would like to know if u prefer the black or blue dial more.
Best regards,
TGV
P.s. Is that Alan Watts as you profile pic?
The BIG rose no less...
I wish there was a watch as small and as versatile at a more affordable price range. I saw one of these in an AD and I've always wanted one.
Why not one from the Seiko SARB line?
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
As a strap fan, especially natos, 19mm lugs rule this out for me.
I have two issues with it:
1. The way the crown juts out.
2. The snowflake handset.
If they were to change these two things, this watch would be a Rolex Killer (so they probably won't). If I were to suggest one more change, I would want there to be an option with a California dial.
I like the glossy dial.... Goes with the glossy bezel.
Great review! I bought the 41 mm. I have a 7.25 inch wrist and felt it was a better fit. I like its conservative look and old school ETA movement. I think that at this size it's crown looks appropriate! I love the 41mm heritage black bey!
Great review. I see this as a more affordable alternative to a 36MM Rolex Oyster Perpetual. Smart looking and versatile watch!
I also have a smaller wrist so the Heritage Black Bay 36 would fit nicely on my wrist. I think its an everyday watch.
What a lovely video. Informative and interesting. I own a Sub, a Seamaster and a Tag Monaco, Recently purchased a Black Bay heritage edition. Absolutely love it, Great watch. Great brand, Great video. Many thanks
I think this will be my first luxury watch! Thanks for the review!
I have the silver dial on bracelet. I also have a big wrist (7.4). It wears like a vintage OP and is dressier than the black and blue versions in MHO...
