Nah. It became a coin flip. The Cubs were obviously rattled after the 8th inning. But, they still almost scored in the 9th so it's not like they quit or took a different approach offensively
davoz28 Yeah, only if every game had "world series" stipulations and was this close. 99% of all MLB games are NOT like this game. Some call this game the greatest game of all time.
Well, this match was interesting within these 4:52. How long does a match last? So what happened during the rest of this match? You like it and that´s 200% OK, but I still think it is boring. So is Basketball. Basketball is interesting to watch within the last 4-5 minutes of a match, the rest is a too long and boring foreplay!
davoz28 that’s because baseball is boring unless it’s the playoffs and even some playoff games are insanely boring at times. This game was really exciting because of the stakes. Baseball isn’t exactly a fun sport to watch like football, hockey
Then again, that's quite possibly one of the most exciting games he's ever called, between two teams who hadn't won a world series in such a long time. Made sense for him to show more emotion than usual.
Still watching in 2018. Anytime I'm hankering for some nostalgia I Watch This, Kane's winner in 2010, 2 goals in 17 seconds, and the last 3 minutes of the 98 finals with the bulls.
And to think the Cubs did this after a 3-1 series deficit. Not just one of the best game 7's ever but one of the best World Series ever. Clash of the Titans. Lots of respect for that 2016 Indians team for how they battled.
I woke up the morning of this game and said to myself 'I'm going to see either the Chicago Cubs (1908) or the Cleveland Indians (1948) win the World Series tonight.' The game didn't disappoint. What a classic. Unbelievable.
I know this is late, but I think that was the best part about this game. Everyone knew either the longest championship drought in sports or the 2nd longest World Series drought was going to end that night. We were going to witness history in the making regardless of who won. The fact it was also an instant classic game made it even more legendary. I’m not a fan of the Cubs or the Indians, but I was rooting for the Cubs to end their 108 year curse and I remember being so excited on that final out, I can’t imagine how great it must have felt as a Cubs fan.
As a more "occasional" baseball fan, this was the kind of game I expected. A wide open classic. Both teams wanting to end their droughts, and leaving It all on the line for it
As A Lifetime Cubs Fan....I Can't Remember A Game In Which My Heart Was Pounding Through My Chest....By Far The Greatest Baseball Game I Have Ever Seen
@@xDshiv58 after the immediate shock wore off I remember thinking the media is gonna run with the narrative that with bartman the Cubs were 5 outs away and with Rajai they were 4 outs away.

What an incredible game - and then we ran to the stadium to celebrate afterwards. Passed more than one man weeping in fetal position on the ground. A memory for a lifetime!!!

Everyone gets their ups - cause its essentially a contest between a guy with a bat and a guy with the ball. In like manner, no one should play baseball who cannot take the heat on the mound and deliver a decent inning. Then the pitch command factor takes its rightful place. Who likes to watch a little league game where a kid with no little or no control loads the bags and walks in a dozen runs. How do you think that kid feels even if his mom/dad is the coach? How about the rest of the team? It all starts at the sandlot. Every player should toss 10,000 with a parent. Get a feel for the release point - go a simulated inning with no walks... Now, you got 12 little league arms ready to deliver with the bat or the ball - you got game - you got romance - not a popularity contest with a few hard throwing "wild things".@@jloo6822
Good Lord, I'm sitting here at 1 in the morning just remembering all of this. Sitting on the couch in my lucky shirt, me and my dad with our hands switching between our mouths and the top of our heads, dreading everything. My 51 year old dad, who has lived in Chicago most of his life, one of the most devoted fans I have ever had the pleasure to know, thinking that his Cubbies may finally win it all. My phone, which is usually buzzing with text and messages, was dead silent. Everybody I knew was glued to their screens, praying that today would be the day. Even now, a year and a half later, I watch and feel the exact same emotions I felt that November night: Hopeful, Ecstatic, Safe, Nervous, Terrified, and Triumphant. I know that for the rest of my life, every time I rewatch that final out, chills will run down my body like ice water and my mouth will stretch into the biggest possible grin as I hear Joe Buck say, "Here's the 0-1. This is gonna be a tough play. Bryant. The Cubs, WIN THE WORLD SERIES!" #FlyTheW
These postseaon highlights of my cubbies are all i have these last 2 seasons.. I just remember when Davis hit that homerun to tie it up , my wife said she could literally see the blood drain from my face. I was like " no, not again".. That rain delay was god sent lol. Good times!
could not ask any more for 2 teams to clash it out in the final game of the baseball year....this will go down as the greatest baseball game of all time and in World Series history...2001 from the 9/11 year and the following 2002 series were great but 2016 takes the cake as the most watched and most on the edge of your seat series in any sports fan life.. whether you are a fan of the 2 teams or not this was the most scary fun good feel story of the year!!
Man, I'm not even a cubs fan, or even a baseball fan for that matter. I have a family member who is a huge Cubs fan and I've never seen him cry quite like when the Cubs won the world series. I dunno why, but watching any of these championship moments and the reaction of the players, knowing they've won it all, also makes me emotional and sends shivers across my body.
Today October 20, 2018 I came back to watch the Cubs win the world series again. I still can't believe the won!!! Love the Cubbies. Screw the Brewers lol...
One of the best games in modern baseball. I remember being center deep in the crowd outside of Wrigley Field in the 7th inning thinking it was only a matter of time. We watched that scoreboard go to 6-6 and watched the game on someone who was streaming it on their balcony. Made it to a bar for extra innings. The bar went batshit crazy on the final out. Walked all the way back to Wrigley field. What a night.
i remember seeing this live and just how happy i was, and im not even a cubs fan and it was still exciting to watch. and than in 2017, my favorite baseball team the Astros won and it was just like, "Wow."
I have not watched this game, nor the replay and highlights, since I watched the game on that fateful night in 2016. Again, I am amazed at the rallies, key hits, pressure plays, and intensity, doubt, all the way from the beginning....to the end. I don't know if I will ever see anything like this, with 108 years of history, in my life, no long how I live. Amazing.
Say what you want about Joe Buck but this game was called perfectly. As a Cubs fan it almost felt like I was watching a movie. A night I’ll never forget ❤️💙❤️💙
I'm a diehard indians fan, and still watch this. What a ride that year was. So many injuries and such an improbable dominant run in the AL, to somehow going up 3-1 against the best team baseball had seen in a while, to losing a heartbreaker in game 5, and then getting dominated in game 6 and 7, but somehow...Rajai Davis, who in his 11 years only had 55 home runs total in his career, hits one of the most clutch home run in history, hands down- the most iconic Cleveland Indians home run. That emotion I get from that home run everytime, is something I'm grateful for. I just wish that feeling could've been what the Cubs fan feel watching the final outcome of this amazing series. It's been 2 years, but this game gives me joy, goosebumps, and a depressed exhale of how close we were and how hard we fought. Hats off to the Cubs. I'll never forget this series for the rest of my life. To think how this was ONLY 2 years ago. What's sad is how great the cubs and indians were, but the Red Sox, Yankees and Astros have ALREADY made teams that are WAY BETTER than both....... And that's why this loss hurts so much more. PS. That rain delay still haunts me. IT DIDN'T EVEN RAIN. and to cubs fans who think its an excuse we use... "Rizzo called the rain delay 'the most important thing to happen to the Chicago Cubs in the past 100 years. I don't think there's any way we win the game without it.' " (Source: Wikipedia)
What's really impressive is how many different Cubs players contributed in this last game. I think Kris Bryant was the only player mentioned more than once. A true team effort.
Not a huge fan of his, but it just doesn’t feel like playoff baseball anymore without Joe Buck’s voice! Literally ever since I was a kid and the first World Series I watched in 1995 always had Buck’s voice. It was even more nostalgic for me when it was Buck and McCarver, reminds me of my childhood, not so much anymore. I like Smoltz, he’s like an encyclopedia of pitching strategies you’d almost never even think of, but still not the same. Ironically the first World Series I ever watched in 95 had Smoltz as a SP for the Braves, and now he’s calling the games.
I didnt even like baseball but I’m on my day off i was sitting next to one of my friends named will from Chicago at my job we were watching the game and it just made me love the sport
One of the best game 7 of the world series i have ever seen. Im an Astros fan so it really didn't matter 2 me which team won, i just wanted 2 see a great game and that's exactly what this was. Wow! I do kinda feel bad for the home team tho.....
This is the greatest game 7 of the World Series close to it is the 02 Giants vs Angels 01 Yankees vs D-Backs 91 Braves vs Twins but overall this game 7 of the 2016 World Series is the greatest of all time
As an Indians fan I still come back every once in a while and hope it somehow ends differently... still brings tears to my eyes from the rajai homerun to the last out smh
That one pitch Kipnis fouled off in the bottom of the ninth got my heart racing when it left the bat I thought it was a walk off bottom of the ninth game seven dream come true
Both teams played their hearts out. Rain delay or not that was the best world series game ive ever seen. Im a sox fan but i still root for a chicago team in the playoffs. Indian fans,,,,, dont feel bad, your team represented big time
Davis deserves to be remembered as a hero. Coming up clutch twice when it mattered most. I wish he was remembered forever as the game seven hero who kept the cubs curse alive! Still a great moment, but how much more great it would be if they won.
Best game7 hands down in MLB history. Both teams looking to end a drought cubs come back from 3-1 Indians fighting back in game 7 cubs answer Davis ties the game in 8th off the hardest throwing pitcher n the game cubs take back lead Davis fights again to a 1 run game last out with runner in scoring position. You just can't get better than that unless tribe hit a walk off hr in the bottom of ninth to screw the cubs. Epic series
Everyone can agree cleveland would of won if there wasnt a rain delay
Res Gaming ..... um, no.
Nah. It became a coin flip. The Cubs were obviously rattled after the 8th inning. But, they still almost scored in the 9th so it's not like they quit or took a different approach offensively
Res Gaming Oh that's bull
But there was....and they did...
I agree 100% but It didn't have the Yankees or Red Sox in it so ...
This is easily the game of the decade. It could be the game of the century.
Its game of the century for the cubs, i know that

the homer in me says '91 was better. 1-0 with a 10 inning shutout by Morris. But I would say this is right up there.

Joe Buck did a great job announcing this game.
Now THERE'S something you don't get to hear very often.
A lot of people would have done a far better job at it.

Me also when they tied it at 6-6 I thought the Cubs were gonna choke again thank God I was wrong
This honestly was one of the greatest games I’ve seen in all of sports, both teams fighting out to the very end.

I feel like the rain delay should be remembered as well. Unbelievable game.
Without a doubt, it was unforgetable

I could watch this forever. I still remember exactly what I was doing that day! GO CUBBIES!!!!
One of the most exciting baseball games ever played!
9 months later and I'm still in shock
This still brings a tear to my eye.
Both teams played their hearts out. Rain delay or not that was the best world series game ive ever seen. Im a sox fan but i still root for a chicago team in the playoffs. Indian fans,,,,, dont feel bad, your team represented big time
1 Year Ago Today. A Day Ill Never Forget.. GO CUBS
Love my Cubs.
I just kept on replaying 4:23-4:28
Shital Kothadia as a Indians fan I disapprove
Could y’all imagine if the Cavs and Indians both won the championship in the same year 😂😂 mannnn you talk about historic
I’ve watched this video at least 1000 times and I’m proud of the cubs my favorite team
I watch this before bed almost every night, love my cubs
great world series but the best part is rizzo puts the ball in his pocket
nobody even noticed they were all so happy wish the cubs could win now
As a cubs fan this was one of the best days of my life
Davis deserves to be remembered as a hero. Coming up clutch twice when it mattered most. I wish he was remembered forever as the game seven hero who kept the cubs curse alive! Still a great moment, but how much more great it would be if they won.
By far the best World Series in awhile
Probably the best World Series ever played.
Joe Buck is so much better at calling baseball games than football games. His tone and cadence works better for baseball.
Much agreed. I've always thought that.
As a Cub fan. I couldn't believe raji Davis homerun. I almost died
I’m not ashamed to say I bawled like a 36 year old baby when the Cubs finally won.
Indians lost every gm LBJ attended 😂😂😂
Nothing will beat game 7 of the 91 series for me. That entire series was unreal. This is a close second.
I'm a cubs fan, but I think the Indians are a great team, and I will support you if you make the world series.(If your not facing the cubs)
Epic series
Happiest day of my life
why?
Cazimi MGTOW because the cubs won nigga
I'm not a fan of either of these teams but this was the greatest game of baseball I ever watched
