Too bad Boras is representing Soto, he's a great player and I'd love to have him in LA. However, we have other areas to focus on.

    Absolutely not. Way overpaid!

Thanks Casey and Austin. This is a great way of telling everybody that Soto is not for the Dodgers. Soto (Boras) is asking too much, making him unsuitable to the Dodgers. The same money can get us probably Kikuchi with resigning of Treinen, Butane, and Teo. Besides, the years that Boras wants are ridiculous. It will make us a bad team in the long-run. By the way, I love your last comment.

why would the Dodgers want Juan Soto when we just watched them play a season where 1-9 can hit and play defense very well? makes no sense. its a silly narrative

For the same price you could get Burnes or Snell, Teoscar, and possibly a nice reliever or two.

Casey I get the clubhouse thoughts on Soto, but on the 5 game series against the Dodgers and lack of production this - The Dodgers might be the best team at targeting a players weakness and executing a plan over 20 at bats but most teams don’t have the ability to do that for many at bats. I don’t think we get Soto but if they did it would offset our Hall of Famers aging out and a projected production decline. Thanks Casey & Austin.

Of course the Dodgers don't need Juan Soto. But would he make the offense better? Probably. Would he hurt the defense? Well, if Teo was graded as one of the worst defensive outfielders last season, I don't know that Soto could do much worse. I don't know where Casey sees Soto as a reason why the Dodgers won the Series.

In a vacuum Soto would be fantastic, but at his asking cost he isn't worth it. you can get two all stars at the same price for just Soto. Sotos below avg defense and below avg baserunning matter. Not the dodger way to overpay for a one dimensional player. Guys like Teo and Muncy have their flaws, but the price tag reflects that.

If LA wants to greatly increase their odds of winning multiple titles over the next four years, then yes. As long as it doesn't hinder their ability to fill other roster shortcomings in the infield and the bullpen. This kind of top level bat doesn't become available very often, if ever. It may also depend how motivated Cohen is. If he throws around 10 yrs/$620-$650 million with no deferrals, then leave him be.

I do feel the Dodgers could use a left handed hitter in the outfield. I think they will give Outman another chance but he just doesn’t make enough contact. I love what T Hernandez gave the Dodgers last year and I hope they resign him. I like the idea of going after Louis Robert of the White Sox, five tool player who is 27 years old with a team friendly contract. Yes, he has missed some time in his career due to injuries but when he’s out there he is a all star.

the problem with juan soto is he is going to cost 600M. this team needs a shortstop and a lot of starting pitching and prob even re-signing teoscar hernandez before it could even think about juan soto. I always thought the team that signed ohtani last year was going to be out on soto this year and hence why I believe we’d be out on him. soto is my fav all-time active player and any team could use him. however this club needs a shortstop and starting pitching first esp for the 600M price tag.

I like Soto’s bat but he’s not a great fit on a team with Ohtani and aging all stars like Freeman, Mookie, etc. I think he’s better at DH. Good option for the Mets in my opinion. Great arguments on both sides

I don’t think they are willing to spend on Soto. Soto is a great hitter period.

So what happens when Soto loses a half a step? I think he'll become just a " regular" all-star, instead of a mega star. And Venezuelans doctor their birth records. Soto peaking at 21 really is fishy. So .... Hes Ted Williams then? I find it more likely he's 30 now. This was his first huge year, and he needed Judge and Gio in front of him. Lest see what he does witg The Mets.

Totally agree with your points, and I have been pleasantly surprised to find that the largest majority of fans, at least the ones here at Dodgers Daily, are against Soto. That surprises me.

Depends on the price, but Corbin Burnes might be the better expenditure, or Matt Snell, I’m a no on Fried I’d rather go with the kids over him.

I look at it , if they don't bring back Teo then go get Soto if they can and add Adames and a SP. If Teo comes back, no soto, but, add 2 sp's and Adames. prefer Snell and Eovaldi.
