My favorite Soto story is when one of his Minor league coaches told him to upgrade from the air mattress he was sleeping on and Soto was basically just like “nah, I’m not gonna be around here long enough to need a real bed”
@@trippyson8902 Juan Soto: When I was promoted to AA I was sleeping on an air mattress. The manager we had told me: "It's a long season, we want you to sleep on a regular bed" then I told him: "Don't worry, I won't be here for a long time", 7 days later I was called up to the Majors.
Soto is an outstanding hitter. The eye discipline, the ability to hit to all fields, the power. Guy can be one of the greats if everything goes his way.
I’m here after his homer in the ALCS. hearing how dominant this guy was in these minors and watching him lick his lips at pitches from a top notch reliever like Gaddis with two outs, two strikes… I have no words
Soto is probably one of my favorite current players in the league right now. But as someone who loves and wants to play baseball for a living, it's hard not to think it's impossible when you're not someone as talented as Soto
It’s not easy. Unfortunately, unlike basketball, which has opportunities to be a professional in practically every country, opportunities in baseball are far more limited. This doesn’t mean you can’t do it though.
If it helps, Soto's one of the best hitters in the game and a good candidate for a record breaking contract. You do not need to be nearly as talented as Soto to go professional. He's been around 80% better than the league average hitter this season. That means that there are guys out there who are about half as good as Juan Soto at hitting a baseball and still professional position players. Some of them are even considered good/decent players, usually by virtue of their ability to play defense. That said it's still nearly impossible. But I hope you make it.
As a Nats fan, It’s either the Yankees or us… is what I tell myself in my dreams before I go to bed every single night. You have no idea how much body parts/limbs I would cut off for him to come back.
I want the Mets to outbid the Yankees, but honestly the Yankees have no business letting that happen. Hal and company have the money and the one two punch of Judge and Soto is the sort of thing you can't replicate. (Yeah, I want Soto/Lindor, but only a fool would pretend the pairing in the Bronx hasn't been a wonder.)
It's sad the Nats couldn't afford him but at least he helped bring a ring. It's insanity that the Padres treated for him and traded him away. What was the point of that?
@@uJceinope it was actually Bally sports going bankrupt and they had the tv rights to like 12 teams padres being one of them.Because they had an uncertain revenue (tv money) they had to slash payroll significantly by 90 million and peter seidler passed away.

Soto probably had the best plate discipline in the league at 21 which is absurd.

where there's jose bautista too yo don't have to be like soto just be you discipline and work hard can take you anywhere
really fun watching his minor league clips, thanks for putting this together
Very good story, good job narrating it. Soto is awesome. love the video.
The Yankees need to sign this guy for the rest of his life or they seriously fucked up.

That’s been his nickname around DC since his call up. Miss him on my Nats
I was so pumped when my Yankees got him. Soto special player 💪
Juan Soto has been doing the "Soto Shuffle" as soon as he was born. That increases the contract value right there⚾️😄
Some guys are just so talented and good right off the bat they don’t need to be in the minors. Soto is definitely one of those guys.

That games played for Trout is actually impressive though because he led WAR for 5 years straight from age 20-24
FYI - As of now Harper has played only a total 141 minor league games.

Boegarts and darvish extension prevented a Juan Soto contact. So sad:((

Such a bummer he had to go down to the minor for a rehab stint late in his career
The largest signing bonus for an international here in DR, was the one given to Robert Puason, he were signed for 5.5 mil

Where the fuck did we get 602 minor league games for Trout? lol
and Harper??? lmfao where are we getting these numbers from what
I was wondering the same thing. My guess is they were too lazy to look up the numbers so they just made them up.
Exactly. Trout played 266games before getting called up

The Mets stealing Soto would be the greatest move ever
Soto is the type of player that makes the entire team want to play better

The way he was treated in the 2019 World Series always angered me.
