Horrible. Just horrible. Sledgehammer is only apart of COD so that infinity ward and treyarch have more time to make games. All sledgehammer CODs are BAD, NO DEBATE ALL OF THEM ARE BAD
I always thought the level where you break out of the prison, and because Irons destroyed your prosthetic arm you had to constantly pick up guns (as you can't reload with only 1 arm) was one of the most creative and innovate campaign levels in cod history
While I agree it was cool and creative. It’s not innovative. Innovative is the advanced movement that dictated CoD during that era. I do understand your sentiment though, but let’s not be loose with the word choice.
But it was just a gimmick, just like being able to play the dog in ghosts, or driving tanks in various missions throughout the series. Once that's over it's back to the tired railroad shooter for the rest of the campaign until the next gimmick briefly shows up.
One thing that still really surprise me about Advanced Warfare was the sheer visual and graphical leap only a year after Ghosts came out. Advanced Warfare was the first Call of Duty game to ever use physical-based rendering (which also contributed to the game being the turning point of the series lol) and it worked massively in the game's favour, it holds up ridiculously well visually for a 2014 release and still has some top-tier depth of field and motion blur effects.
as an og cod player this was some of the most fun I had in any cod game, certainly my favourite cod game in the time between BO2 and MW2019. I feel like your enjoyment of aw was directly linked to whether or not you could manage the movement
I mean people could also not enjoy loot boxes, and the weapon gap between some of the ones you could get out of there compared to their base variant. As someone who played every cod regardless of quality, it’s very easy to see why people wouldn’t like this game….not rocket science.
@@calebstevens9446 it still had a normal progression system in addition to that and had amazing customization. Progression systems now suck and Activision doesn't give 2 shits about customization. It was objectively far from the worst game in the series. Subjectively, I get why people didn't like it when looking for a typical COD experience, but I loved it.
@@calebstevens9446 I will take free loot boxes any day over 95% of customization being locked behind individual paywalls or $15-$20 bundles of cosmetics
As someone with like 1000 hours in AW, i gotta say that the variants of guns was WILD. Some green level guns (i forgot the names for the different tiers of guns) performed the same if not better than the elite-tier stuff. The KF5 had a green variant that fired as fast as the elite tier one. I loved this cod's multiplayer more than the later ones and will always have a soft spot in my heart
chaos mosh pit was amazing in MP!!! if you don’t know, it was all the most popular maps like detroit bio lab solar recovery retreat etc. and all the most popular respawn modes like HP domination TDM and uplink. such a fun experience it was like playing the comp maps but in a casual setting so you’re guaranteed a good map mode combo.
I don't think the guy who made this video really knows what he's talking about. I didn't like aw all that much, and even I know it didn't kill cod. how tf did he skip MW22, Vangaurd, MW19 and dare I say Cold War? I mean, yes; Cold War was an improvement, but that was only bc mw19 was so ass. Cold War still had crazy sbmm/eomm, so I was playing tourneys every single game. And yes I do prefer really challenging opponents, but not in every single casual game. That's what I have Rainbow 6 Siege for. I'd argue that AW/BO3 had a more active community than MW22/MW23 does today. As far as player count goes, MW might have AW beat, but the energy of the cod community then can never be replicated with what we have now. Now we don't even have a real prestige system: we have to use other guns to unlock the guns we want; the mini map isn't minimapping; we don't just have doorways, now we have fully functioning doors; weapon mounting as if head glitches weren't already bad enough; safe places for trash players; safety matchmaking brackets for trash players; no custom emblems; no leaderboards; slower movement while ads in comparison to older cods, slower ads speed, and just slower movement overall; overpriced bundles; ghost is busted; dead silence is busted; and Activision patents. Now some may call me crazy; but I think it should be obvious that battle royale, and battle passes killed cod. Literally...the things that make COD, COD, are slowly being removed and/or disregarded just to fit in Warzone. Battle royal was never a Call of Duty thing. Also it seems like the devs are trying too hard to appeal to trash players now. Ik they were trying before, but now I think they're getting a little too carried away.
KF5 Single Stack was the enlisted one with -1 damage but +1 fire rate. The elite was the Breakneck with -1 accuracy and +3 fire rate (although it fires the same speed as the single stack) and you can’t use extended mags, dual mags, rapid fire, quickdraw and stock
AW's cutscenes are, in my opinion, the best cutscenes ever made in a video game (in terms of fidelity). They're only rivaled by Blur's work on games like COD: MW and Halo 2 Anniversary. UNBELIEVABLE visuals.
@@Luna-JB Give an example of a game you think has better pre-rendered cutscenes in terms of visual fidelity? I've played just about every recent triple-A game praised for graphical fidelity in the last 10 years. I was much much more impressed in terms of fidelity in gameplay with games like The Last of Us 2, which I think looks the best in-game of any game out right now, but it doesn't have better looking cutscenes.
sorry to be that guy but exo zombies is before the campaign because its over by the end, and gideon doesnt die because the rule of cod “if you dont see them die they arent dead”
I absolutely loved AW. They also introduced the Uplink game mode in this game which was a fun and fresh competitive addition that utilized the advanced movement.
I used to play this game all day everyday when I was 14. Was truly fun it might not have been the best cod but there’s no denying you’ve had atleast one good moment with friends or randoms on the game. Idk maybe it was because I was young but I just can’t get that kind of enjoyment out of games anymore. Being an adult and working all day makes you realize that those good moments are gone and I should’ve appreciated it more when it was happening.
The thing I loved the most about AW was the story. Something about playing as a Merc with no rules of engagement and focusing on getting the job done is so cool in my eyes. Something I wish they had done was allow you to side with Iron's. Nice way to add some replayability.
Such an underrated and under appreciated cod. They had some mistakes but it made cod fun and unique again that year. So many people were buzzing about it and playing it. Never understood the deep hate for it
Its because people love hating things. And shitty youtubers like chopper made hundreds of videos telling teenagers to blindly hate the games, making the community «hate» them. I seriously think BO3 was a top 3 cod of all time. The very best zombie experience at least
I actually enjoyed this game. It was something new and different. The story was amazing to me, I enjoyed the new jet pack multiplayer, and I really loved the zombies because it was unique. I remember I got the day zero edition, went back and forth to GameStop 3 times in one night, I actually miss this game.
Agree 💯 I liked it too and got the day Zero edition as it was my 2nd official cod for ps4... everything was fun in it, the kill streak. The sounds, the jet packs.... so much so, that bo3 did the same thing and copied it but added "wall running" and all the idiot cod fans went crazy about it saying "bo3 was the best game ever" 😂 😆
This cod will always be one of my favorites for just how unique they got with it. Every mode was centered around the world they built with the campaign, the multiplayer and exo survival were fun and even the zombies were neat.
i actually liked this game. it was the first game after a long time that actually had decent graphics for its time and a nice sound system. also the weapons felt punchy and you could really see the right response on hit enemies. also I really liked the idea of PMC being used to outsource conflicts. I also really liked many of the levels and how advanced tech was shown. futuristic, yet still believable.
Again, I appreciate all the hard work you put in to make this type of video. From a writing, editing, and content perspective, this is truly top tier, and no easy task. Keep it up!!
I’ve always been a campaign freak and while it wasn’t the MW/BO trilogy, it was good. Different. The training mission in the beginning where you rescue the “president” was unique, the opening mission was one of the best in the series as far as setting the tone for the game, and the cutscenes were technically impressive throughout. I remember being super invested in the side characters, specifically Gideon. I wanted them all to make it out of the campaign. Multiplayer could’ve used some work but it came out right when I was 16-17 so i was hitting the height of every teens sweaty lifecycle so I have just as many fond memories with it as I do earlier multiplayers. Zombies was a miss for me though and that’s the one thing that’s kept me coming back in recent CoD titles. I think I maybe played 3 games lol map structure and exo suits ruined it, playable characters didn’t help.
True, as a campaign freak myself, I think the idea of private military company in Advanced Warfare deserved to be expanded more... or even introduce to Modern Warfare if possible. Consider our modern war right now has lots of PMC in active warzone. I think lots of people judging COD by multiplayer. I used to play pirated COD (3rd world country, 60 bucks is just too much) so I often focus more on campaign or side game like spec ops or zombies.
I think this video reviews well each call of duty. Though I have to remind that this person has been playing COD since COD 1 and he mostly focuses on campaign. It was refreshing to see he criticise MW2 and have soft spot for future setting COD. It might rub you off if you're hardcore MW2 fan or blindly hate futuristic COD. But he mostly focus on what each COD represents and how to deliver it in story. He does talk about multiplayer with open mind as much as possible ruclips.net/video/cDvHd4QjGLw/видео.html
At this point, a futuristic Advanced Movement COD would feel extremely refreshing (One, not 3 in a row). The past 5+ years has more or less felt like "Same Shit, Different Year"
That's what I've been saying, especially with the way everything being cross play/progression I'd like to see Exo Suits one last time. And with how hard they went with cosmetics for supply drops in AW Activision (but prob Microsoft since that deal's happening) can have a field day creating the most outlanding shit again.
@@TecraX2 Treyarch had BO3 in development since 2013. A whole year before AW even released. Treyarch’s take on advanced movement was just way better from its inception.
As someone who entered the COD-Franchise quite late (MW2019) i really appreciate your series going about every entry. Parts of me always wished i could be apart of the community since the beginning, going through their highs and lows.
It was an experience for sure, but the lows were really low dude. So bad, that sometim3s you'd feel so jaded and skip the next game, which could have turned out to be a good one. This is honestly my on-going relationship with the series, although lately I keep buying the "wrong" ones it seems...
Playing AW multiplayer wasn't perfect, but it was fun. I was in the top 3,000 in the world for the game mode Momentum. That was pretty much the only mode I played, because I liked getting a lot of kills in that mode, loved how the mode rewarded fast pace aggressive gunplay and objective play, and matches were always close and went on for a long time. It was a mode I can just turn my brain off and play. I know it sounds like a bad thing, but trust me, if you were playing during the games peak in that mode, SBMM didn't matter and it was just fun.
Your take on SBMM is really well thought out. I love the idea that the gameplay lends itself where SBMM isn't enjoyable to have like Smash or even Chess. You put a 1500 rating Chess player against a 1000 rating Chess player and the 1500 player will win almost all the time if not 100% of the time. The problem is that Smash and Chess are isolated arenas where you are facing (typically) only one other person so you only need to worry about yourself and someone else. In COD, when you are playing against players around your skill level (partied up or not) you are much less likely to feel as if your skill really matters. COD has too many variables to attempt to control to have such strong SBMM in order to make the player base feel rewarded for their actual skill beyond just a number or a level. I can be as talented, skilled, or thoughtful as possible in a COD game, but the higher you go, the less likely your skill makes a large impact on the game against 6 others that are of similar skill. In other relevance, many people say that the higher you go, the closer you get to competitive COD but in public matches, but sadly this is far from the truth. There are agreed upon bans amongst players for weapons, attachments, grenades, killstreaks, maps, and more. Not to mention just GA'ing (gentleman's agreement) certain things that aren't banned. This allows for more of a player's skill to show through instead of just an overpowered gun. The higher your SBMM goes in public matches, the more it becomes a copy and paste fest where everyone is using the same of everything which turns into a "who sees who first" scenario which I wouldn't call high skill gameplay. I think SBMM is an important system to have in the game and needs to remain as it always has existed. The problem is that the previous iteration had multiple protected brackets that you couldn't break into unless you were really bad or really good at the game. These were around 10-20% of the population on either end of the spectrum. In the middle, people were mostly grouped by ping and getting matches that had the best ping possible which is no longer the case which further drives down the skill behind SBMM. I agree that players are just better now and protected brackets need to exist, but SBMM should be relaxed on it's strictness. Lobbies should be able to stay together and not disband every game (maybe every 3 games for best of threes). I should be able to join a game with players on my team and the enemy team that are better then me, just as good as me, and worse then me. The better players are then rewarded for being good players (and then join a game where they are the worst player on the team or in the middle pack afterward), the mid tier and lower tier players are rewarded by doing somewhat well, but also have a ceiling to climb to and continue to grow and get better.
During the launch of cold war all my matches were sitting duck matches 6v6 nuketown nobody moving almost all matches were sitting matches with portalable radar spam. Sbmm really ruins the fun
I think you left out the fact that they take you the god and put a bunch of horrible teammates on your team and expect you to carry, which is not how it works. the fact that devs havent figured that out shows that they dont even play their game and if they do they are just plain dogshit and never have to carry anybody that cant get 1/4 of your kills.
@@zombieblaster5754 I’d personally take that team balancing over the current sbmm a lobby should be based off of how good the connection is the teams can be based off of skill as far as I care
Unpopular opinion but I really loved AW. It was crazy and exciting. I rarely so campers. It was so daring and fresh. (Yes I've been playing since black ops 1 and mw days). The dash, the double jump, the boost slam melee it was all so new and refreshing. If AW released rn instead of Vanguard people would be on that shit.
im gonna get crucified for this but the futuristic cods weren't that bad as far as pure gameplay goes. the lootboxes and monetization were undoubtedly scummy, but i prefer jetpacks to the MLG tac sprinting olympics we have now
Agreed I started with bo1 (altho I did play the older cods on & off, not to mention I’m kinda young tho at 21 so I was a squeaker back then) But holy fuck AW was so much fun despite its issues. Bo3 was better tho Imo top tier for me actually
@@dislikebutton4239 facts bro bo3 is in my top 3. I'm 22 so I was also a squeak in the old days lmao. I think maybe younger people were just more receptive to the drastic changes and boost movement. My older brother and my older friends didnt really fw them.
Really like AW. The Multiplayer was fun. Loved the story of the campaign. Also just love futuristic settings and the exos and guns felt so fresh, unlike anything I've experienced before.
Looking back, a lot of these cod games were pretty alright. I think that what made this game satisfying were the guns having a very good weight behind them (at least the powerful ones). I mostly remember always using 1 gun (kinda for its gimmick)… the IMR 4 round burst assault rifle. It technically has infinite ammo cause it prints new rounds for you, and it can kill in 1 burst with the green variant of it from what I remember. Using it in zombies where you empty all your rounds into them, switch to your secondary to drop more rounds into them. Then switching back to the IMR and having half your ammo back.
@@Mr_Unknowngaming752 to be fair only like 3 dlc guns in Bo3 are worth getting in the lootboxes other than them all the base guns are amazing and balance each other out (except maybe the shotguns)
@@hyperdude2015 lets be honest, the shotguns were fine except for the brecci. the haymaker was only used by literal children, the krm and argus were balanced really well
I wasn't the biggest fan of AW but it's definitly not the death of COD. The death of COD began with Ghosts and then the good games got plagued with microtransactions and SBMM and it ruined all the fun they could have provided. The true COD killer is Activision
@@Winning1520 difference between something being the beginning of the end and being the death of it. If it's the death of it then it's the end of the end. Not the beginning of the end. I actually quite enjoyed AW, got to Master Prestige…. 8 maybe? And a few royalty camo’s, largely played HC Dom, and if I played Core modes it was the grapple playlist, which was such an incredibly well-designed (to a degree) fun mode, game wasn’t perfect in any capacity, but it certainly was *fun*
Advanced Warfare was the first CoD I was along the ride for and actually into every single gamemode, although BOII was my first launch CoD. Such a good game during its cycle. Phenomenal art design too. Guns and everything looks fantastic, super unique aesthetic imo.
I just miss cods that didn’t have recoil 😂 watching your gameplay takes me back to the times where I could see my enemy while I was shooting and not my gun shaking uncontrollably. I can’t spend the time I used to playing these games so I’m already bad enough 😂
I'm gonna blow your mind Most Call of Duty guns have ALWAYS had the same rough amount of shots that you need to land to score a kill. For every weapon aside from shotguns and sniper rifles, and maybe a few exceptions on the high end - it's always been 3-6 shots The only difference you probably need to make is to switch your gun to semi-auto and time those shots carefully at mid-long range
@@wisemankugelmemicus1701 I was never talking about the amount of shots to kill, strictly about the recoil. Since buying an Xbox and switching back to MW2 and BO1 it’s so enjoyable to play without the stupid amount of recoil on guns and putting 30 different attachments on it.
@@nathanmcdonald8891thats what i'm talking about....there's no recoil if you fire your gun, wait for the recoil to stop, and then shoot again...that way you don't dump half your mag and get double tapped by a guy using a shotgun
@@nathanmcdonald8891yea thats true Which is why I think both MW games have a perk that allows you to have two primary weapons, assault rifles in main, smgs in secondary
I love how you consider these games and do a proper review on them. Rather than just saying "wow everyone hated exo zombies, therefore this is garbage" U actually went in, appreciated certain values and critiqued it where it needed to be critiqued.
AW competitive was one of the best imo too... i loved this game casually to play with friends.. not the best cod but some of the best memories ive made with a cod
The thing is, AW's story, especially the second half, never ment to be like this. The SHG was trying to tell the story that the trailer videos said: "...go into another nation, drop a few bombs and call it democracy?" In the real original ending, we should be following the Atlas and continue to rebuild the world, at the meantime think deeply about what democracy actually is. But ironically, FBI came in and we get the story what we see now. So not only the ending feels off, half of the game story was forced to rewrite so the attitude of Jonathan Irons turns awkwardly.
The COD community was BEGGING for something new, something innovative and challenging. They got it and screamed about every single new feature that came with AW. They’re very very hard to please.
I just finished watched the most recent Ghosts vid Went to your page to see if you made an MW3 one (my favorite COD) and saw this I’m now subscribed. You make great vids and these are awesome to have play in the background while I work. Keep up the great work man!!
I absolutely LOVE that you went in on Burgertown because someone NEEDED to say how truly awful that map is. Hands down the worst cod zombie map in exsistence. The fact that you repeated the infected zones was just perfect. By round 30 the player would literally have to survive in JUST a skinny, maze-like sewer with no real hope, especially in single player. And the fact that they okayed the exo zombie variant on that map AND brought in an exo LAUNCHER is nothing short of tragic.
That's cause you probably sucked at the burger town zombies and your prolly the one to "host ended the game " after going down on round 2-4...... or round 30 like you said queerr
Beyond the cringe that was Bal and ASM1, and the lootboxes, AW was easily the best futuristic cods imo, atleast content package wise. Infinite war definitely had a better campaign
I've always said this. I said that about all the advanced movement cods. Good games, just not call of duty in my opinion. Should've been rebranded and possibly still be its own line of games based on advanced movement and overpowered weapon variants and whatnot while cod stuck with boots on the ground and raw gun skill
Although I agree with the fact that maybe these games would have been better off being their own thing instead of part of Call of duty franchise, what exactly do you want as far as staying to the basics? For them to literally just keep making the same type of game with a different campaign over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again? Like really, what you want? To just buy the exact same game with a different campaign every year? Why not just stick to the Call of dutys you're already playing instead of buying the next one? Or go play the Call of duty that's a live service game like cod mobile? Why buy the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again? If all you want is for it to stsy at the basics then stay with the original games. Or again, go to cod mobile where it makes sense to just play the same thing over and over again since it's literally alive service. and being a live service it's going to continue to receive new content till they drop support. Why would you pay 50 to 60 to $70 to play the exact same thing again just with a different campaign? And if you want a different campaign on the same game then we can literally just have those as dlc. We don't have to rebuy the same game over and over again with the same rehashed multiplayer.
i hold no guilt in saying this is my absolute favourite cod. The supply drops, new movements, maps, weapons etc. It was just such a breath of fresh air considering cod was basically fifa for years, copy and paste job
@@leonseuropeanislandadventu7398 the loot boxes were fine, I never bought a single one and still got pretty much everything you'd want from em, the abylity to have diffrent weapons with unique effects was huge
@Dalerob2003 God yes, the lootboxes weren't good for the long term, but that's because they were decent enough that they did improve the game experince, the problem is that they were made to test the waters for more aggressive methods
I had some of the most fun in aw out of any cod. Yes supply drops were broken, but there was a certain allure to using the weapon variants and seeing which ones were great and which was awful. The guns themselves were a lot of fun too. And lowkey I prefer aw movement to bo3/iw
I feel like i was one of few who just really loved AW. I dropped 50 kills and 2 deaths with the obsidian stead and i will never forget it for the rest of my life
I’ve never been a huge FPS player. I love story type games like last of us, halo, gears, GTA, I also play sports game the most though but Advanced Warfare was the game that got me somewhat hooked for a few months. I think it was a really good game
the moveset in this one was definitely sharp and quick, making this the only cod game where you could actually zigzap out of a deletion if you were quick enough
I'll always think back fondly on this game because it was one of the CODs I played when my interest in the franchise was at its peak. Also, there was a time where I wanted to play zombies so badly but AW was my only option. As a result, I thnk Carrier is in my top 10 zombies maps. I play on that map training in only the crate room for hours. I still wish the bomb rounds didn't exist. Aside from that I like that map a lot.
Welp, turns out the only Spacey thing that aged poorly was your jokes. Never presume guilt friend, my advice for life (otherwise the legal system means nothing). That being said good video
This Moment when you're in the Final Level, the Manticore Countdown is ticking, and Gideon is like "You know what? I didn't get paid enough to walk THIS far" and just stops moving, and you fail the Mission on Veteran.
When it came to skill based matchmaking it felt like they didn't know where to place me. one minute I'm facing new player who don't know how to play the next I'm in a sweat lobby with guys who play religiously. To me it felt like the game overestimated my ability when it gave me trash players and i did well and then underestimated me when it then put me up against tryhards and went negative so I never ended up in a good spot.
AW is a great cod in my opinion. I loved all 3 modes. It will be better if variants can be unlocked through a challenge and not behind a paywall. I wish there will be a sequel someday even though it will never happen.
We were gaming on a 360 on BO2 multi-player until fall of 2014 when we all bought ps4s and new tvs. We would set up in the same room with 3 or 4 different ps4s playing Advanced Warfare. Miss those days
I genuinely love this game and have so many fond memories. I loved most of the maps, guns, art style, customization, DLC, camos. It is a top 5 cods for me. ( I have been playing since cod 3)
Got no idea what my _favourite_ COD is, what with nostalgia blinding me, but AW is definitely up the top. The mobility and gunplay was just _too_ fun. I have _very_ fond memories of playing this and Assassins Creed Unity just after the PS4 launched while getting sloshed on Whiskey and Coke.
I can't explain why...but playing AW (My favorite COD ever) gave me the justification to try out Titanfall 2. Both have that 'Super Soldier' feel ,yet T2 expanded with Mechs.
I haven’t played this game since a few months after it released (v little memory of it) but I did play Titanfall 2 last year and really loved its movement system. It felt intuitive and responsive. Is the movement on this game comparable to that of T2? My buddy wants to run zombies on this game so I’m prolly gonna buy it again lol.
Growing up dirt poor, this was the only COD game I bought new when it came out. The campaign definitely was confusing to me back then to say the least, but man AW multiplayer has got to be some of the best times on Call of Duty I’ve had. Sure loot boxes were tedious and a bit broken, but I also think the grind to level up and get more when you don’t have the cash to buy them was a fun element. The character customization was a fun way to flex AND you were able to get an idea on who to stay away from
Same. I begged my dad to buy me this game and he finally did. Most the time I got games from pawn shops. This was the first game I played online that I got heavily into. Other times I’d play online at my friends but I didn’t have internet at my house until this game came out pretty much lol growing up poor is nice lol
I never even got a fair chance to play AW. Me and my buddy decided to splitscreen. Logged my account in, hopped into a match that immediately ended, and then we had to run an errand. When we got back, my account was banned from MW, indefinitely. Very cool!
When this game came out me and my dad played it day one and it’s such a key childhood memory of both of us just sitting in awe at how good this game looked, like THIS was next gen at the time and we were IMPRESSED.
This game was amazing, and the loot boxes weren't even bad. You literally just played, and sometimes you got a new gun free of charge. The only way I can see people crying about it back then was that a few variants were a little too good. Anyone acting like they decided the winner and were necessary was just bad tbh. My main gun was the railgun pistol, and no way in hell was I wrecking lobbies with a 1-shot-per-mag weapon without practice.
I believe as an opinion that stopped me from playing new COD, was that when stricter SBMM was introduced, it took away from playing the casual experience that made me love COD. It becomes more apparent in later CODs, but it turned me away to the point to where I don’t wanna buy another COD till significant changes are made
Your take on skill based matchmaking was actually so unique and I gotta admit I fully agree with what you said, and overall I really enjoyed the video!
This CoD was unfairly dogpiled on and honestly? I had the best time on that game hands down, will never be that good again. Nostalgic childhood memory for me. I think every generation has their "oh my god" stage of getting into gaming, and I refuse to shit on that. Warzone has kids who will grow up to remember it as "the peak". Idk. Gaming just doesn't slap as an adult the same way as it did after school as a kid lol
What always confused me was the fight with Hades. We have Exo suits (it's explained to have super human strength basically) but there seemed to be a struggle taking down a guy when the both of you have exo suits. As explained before, Irons said you can basically take on multiple people and even show you
I mean, you could THEORETICLY say that you were simply using a different type of exo, i’m pretty sure it was a specialist type. It was stated by Gideon (not Irons), that the guy, who was taking on the five “poor bastards” (Gideon, 2050’s), was in fact wearing an assault type exo. I also have heard this point from the Act Man, but I don’t think this is some case of “Sledgehammer forgot” situation.
My favorite COD EVER!!! I LOVED IT!! It was what i always envisioned for a futuristic modern COD with the jet packs and boosting and boost jumping!!! I loved it!! Its the first and only COD I max prestiged in under 2 months!! I was also publicly ranked in HARDCORE DOMINATION at 1000 in the world. I loved it!!! I was one of a few players to have the full purple exo suite before Mid December. Back in the day when your rank and exo suite would fill the pregame lobby with fear!!!
Despite Advanced Warfare's flaws, I will give my respect to Sledgehammer for at least trying something new with this game. Also one issue I had with this game with it's campaign was I always thought it was weird how Mitchell was silent during gameplay, yet was fully voiced in the cutscenes. Like I know it's pretty small n the grand scheme of things but it always bugged me. Like if you're going to have your main character be voiced in cutscenes then they should also be fully voiced during gameplay, otherwise it breaks immersion and is jarring to the player.
Agreed. Especially when in previous Call of duty's the protagonist was literally speak even during gameplay. So it was kind of odd when all of a sudden we went back to the silent protagonist during gameplay.
@@AC03115 I'm surprised more people don't think this now. Back when advanced warfare had its reviews, I remember that plenty of people having that thought. It was so odd to go back to the signing protagonist when previous Call of duty's literally had them talking all the time. I guess everybody was just more focused on sbmm and in advance movements than the actual campaign. Cuz you know, who actually plays Call of duty campaigns? definitely still a og cod i legit play this game everyday still, need more of a community around it i believe then AW will never die, definitely fun jumping around like crazy, or getting outta gun fights youd never be able to get outta in regular cod. just because of the movement it was the best part of this game in my mind…
This game was actually my favorite call of duty. The campaign was amazing , zombies was unique, and multiple players was just incredible. Only down side was the maps weren't as vertical as they shouldve been. Score streaks, guns abilities were just too good. The jet packs were crazy. Dashing around and even being able to ground slam made unique kills and skill based to traverse and get around very intriguing. This movement system with bo3s would've been God tier. Too bad the community hated the movement. let's not forget the realistic cut scenes.
I absolutely loved CoD: AW. I was too young to get a system (and my mom was one of those "That's the devil!" Christian Moms) I was 17 and this game was still getting all the drops and content released. Infected was one of my favorite modes along with the general multi-player. And I was playing BO2 just with my friends at their houses lol. I still remember almost getting a team-wipe with my favorite run and gun set up. The movement factor was allot more my pace though I did gripe about there not being any wall running like in BO3: "Developers Note: Don't call your game advanced warfare if you can't be advanced thinking enough to Add the wall run mechanic from 3 into your game, End Note." I still have it in my fb memories to remind me exactly when I said that lmfao. Zombies was definitely the highlight, I'm one of those players that gets COD games purely for zombies so I couldn't complain about it. It was the first time I heard the term Easter Egg as well and that made me want to discover all the hidden secrets in the maps. Overall I'm glad I got the game when I did and I'd get it again purely for zombies, but I can't justify spending 60 dollars on games for 1 mode anymore when I actually have to earn my money now 🤣😂
The straight forward solution to SBMM is to have a randomly selected team of players, and then have “matchups” for each player on the rival team. It’s like playing man to man in basketball. You want to have someone on the floor whose job it is to handle one other person specifically. If you have one goated player on a team, make sure there is a goated player on the other team. If you have a terrible player on one team, make sure the other team has a terrible player. Have teams full of goated people or terrible people is not fun no matter what game you play.
AW is personal on of my all time favorite game. Definitely underrated. Biggest compliment is how gray scaled zombies was. And i never bought any supply drops. Would love to see an AW 2.
The multiplayer was awesome I never paid on the boxes and the gun variants were dope, when I didn’t have the obsidian steed and speakeasy I would hunt the dudes in the lobby and take it, shit was fun.
For a game that’s title the death of cod, you seemed to really enjoy the story and multiplayer gameplay, even if the loot boxes and balance were bad. Gamplay loop wise the multi player of advanced warfare to this day has been my favorite
Personally I was a balck sheep, I loved AW multiplayer especially hardcore and core domination and hardpoint. It was the only COD I held a 12.0 KD and had good consistent games. Usally I held a 5.0 K/D on bo1 and bo2 and I played those relentlessly. I miss the old days
Not to me I’ve always Loved Advanced warfare the game was good the campaign multiplayer and esports I swear this game is one of the most forgettable games for sure but the game isn’t that bad stop believing in what others say because there opinion doesn’t matter but your own

OH. THAT MADE SO MUCH SENSE.
But it was just a gimmick, just like being able to play the dog in ghosts, or driving tanks in various missions throughout the series.
Once that's over it's back to the tired railroad shooter for the rest of the campaign until the next gimmick briefly shows up.

Take that out of context and it’s funny as hell

One thing that still really surprise me about Advanced Warfare was the sheer visual and graphical leap only a year after Ghosts came out. Advanced Warfare was the first Call of Duty game to ever use physical-based rendering (which also contributed to the game being the turning point of the series lol) and it worked massively in the game's favour, it holds up ridiculously well visually for a 2014 release and still has some top-tier depth of field and motion blur effects.
It's crazy how good it looks after all these days. The visuals back then were on par with Crysis 3 but better and improved it aged well.
That's because they had enough time to rebuild the graphics engine from the ground up.
I replayed the campaign recently and i realized the same thing. Game looks better than Bo4, and cold war.
@@Dime_time333 so true lmao

as an og cod player this was some of the most fun I had in any cod game, certainly my favourite cod game in the time between BO2 and MW2019.
It 100% was directly linked to movement utilization lol
@@calebstevens9446 it still had a normal progression system in addition to that and had amazing customization. Progression systems now suck and Activision doesn't give 2 shits about customization.

I liked it too and got the day Zero edition as it was my 2nd official cod for ps4... everything was fun in it, the kill streak.

Hell ye but u know the ppl Thts just hate things are gonna say it was basic just because they had a bad experience lmao
i actually liked this game. it was the first game after a long time that actually had decent graphics for its time and a nice sound system. also the weapons felt punchy and you could really see the right response on hit enemies. also I really liked the idea of PMC being used to outsource conflicts. I also really liked many of the levels and how advanced tech was shown. futuristic, yet still believable.
Extremely underrated campaign
He does talk about multiplayer with open mind as much as possible

Can totally relate with the time it came out as a teen, altho it came out after I had just turned 14 but I had fun on that game
Are you kidding? The campaign was way too predictable.
If it has controlled movement, I’d agree. The movement in Advanced Warfare was way too chaotic and all over the place.

I really love the way they make the Hud more believable in the Campaign, suck that it didn’t carried to other modes
I think you left out the fact that they take you the god and put a bunch of horrible teammates on your team and expect you to carry, which is not how it works. the fact that devs havent figured that out shows that they dont even play their game and if they do they are just plain dogshit and never have to carry anybody that cant get 1/4 of your kills.
>leave SBMM
Fuck that shit. Useless consoomers vying for shit they don't understand... Pathetic.

Most Call of Duty guns have ALWAYS had the same rough amount of shots that you need to land to score a kill. For every weapon aside from shotguns and sniper rifles, and maybe a few exceptions on the high end - it's always been 3-6 shots
The only difference you probably need to make is to switch your gun to semi-auto and time those shots carefully at mid-long range

The thing is, AW's story, especially the second half, never ment to be like this.
The SHG was trying to tell the story that the trailer videos said: "...go into another nation, drop a few bombs and call it democracy?"
In the real original ending, we should be following the Atlas and continue to rebuild the world, at the meantime think deeply about what democracy actually is.

You're making the lootboxes sound like a good thing. Cut that out.
I’ll second that.. BEST COD EVERRRR MADE. Right up there with WAW
@@leonseuropeanislandadventu7398 the loot boxes were fine, I never bought a single one and still got pretty much everything you'd want from em, the abylity to have diffrent weapons with unique effects was huge
@@calebbarnhouse496 loot boxes are a hell lot better than what we have now
@Dalerob2003 God yes, the lootboxes weren't good for the long term, but that's because they were decent enough that they did improve the game experince, the problem is that they were made to test the waters for more aggressive methods
I had some of the most fun in aw out of any cod. Yes supply drops were broken, but there was a certain allure to using the weapon variants and seeing which ones were great and which was awful. The guns themselves were a lot of fun too. And lowkey I prefer aw movement to bo3/iw
same its a lot of fun, AW movement was awesome! the ground pound goes hard
Agreed. Refinement just made it more apt for tryhards.
Same
Same AW had the best movement and had some of the best experiences in cod and gaming from BO2-AW.
Bo3 was garbage and I stayed on AW until MW remastered came out
I feel like i was one of few who just really loved AW. I dropped 50 kills and 2 deaths with the obsidian stead and i will never forget it for the rest of my life
I LOVED that Exo-Zombies had Shane Walsh himself as a playable character. That's something that CoD Zombies has yet to top to this day.
I’ve never been a huge FPS player. I love story type games like last of us, halo, gears, GTA, I also play sports game the most though but Advanced Warfare was the game that got me somewhat hooked for a few months. I think it was a really good game
I played it so much lol it makes me sad knowing nobody plays it anymore
the moveset in this one was definitely sharp and quick, making this the only cod game where you could actually zigzap out of a deletion if you were quick enough
Aside from that I like that map a lot.
dig the nuanced take on sbmm, so many people hate it but as games are getting sweatier and sweatier it's making more and more sense
I’d love if they brought the aw customization back tbh being able to change everything on ur character was tuff
I loved this game. The campaign looked great and felt satisfying. And the multiplayer was hectic and fun
Welp, turns out the only Spacey thing that aged poorly was your jokes. Never presume guilt friend, my advice for life (otherwise the legal system means nothing).
That being said good video
This game is a classic gem 💎 for me right next to infinite warefare
This Moment when you're in the Final Level, the Manticore Countdown is ticking, and Gideon is like "You know what? I didn't get paid enough to walk THIS far" and just stops moving, and you fail the Mission on Veteran.
43:41 COD Ghosts had a survival mode in the 'Squad" mode itself, it was called "Safeguard"
3:45 what the heck?!
Which mode did you not like? He mentioned 4 modes: campaign, multiplayer, exo survival and exo zombies.
@@vinnievu1 Aw shit my bad. I love all the modes. Exo survival was not as good as mw3's tho
@Mr Same. I haven't spent a single dollar and got all I need maybe except the Insanity :(
I never bought a box, got to max prestige on a few accounts and on one it has almost every gun, just PLAY!
Ghost is underrated. Offered much more than this “golden age”
We were gaming on a 360 on BO2 multi-player until fall of 2014 when we all bought ps4s and new tvs. We would set up in the same room with 3 or 4 different ps4s playing Advanced Warfare. Miss those days
Im so happy theres other people that like AW in the comments. It was a great game
I absolutely loved Advanced Warfare and Ghosts. Honestly, idc if I’m alone on this one. I enjoyed my time back in the day)
I can't explain why...but playing AW (My favorite COD ever) gave me the justification to try out Titanfall 2.
My buddy wants to run zombies on this game so I’m prolly gonna buy it again lol.
you were either good at cod aw or you didnt like it. prove me wrong
exactly.
Factual I was a cracked kid and loved it
Wrong. I have a natural ability to adapt to fps playstyles . Subjective to just me though.
AW > IW
Maybe prosthetics
Well in the fight with hades your pinned by a car, and you wanted to take him alive if possible
@@HK47_115 THANK YOU!! I’m so happy I’m not the only one who thinks of this!
It's not like anybody actually knows the characters captain price, mactavish, soao, David mason, Alex mason, Frank woods, hudson, Victor reznov, Dimitri potrenko. I mean who even are those people? By actually giving a fuck about the campaigns?!🤣 Seriously though, I always thought people who said this or just stupid.
when i got AW, i played one game and stopped buying cod till mw2
I loved Advanced Warfare. It is basically one of my favorite of all time.
definitely still a og cod i legit play this game everyday still, need more of a community around it i believe then AW will never die, definitely fun jumping around like crazy, or getting outta gun fights youd never be able to get outta in regular cod. just because of the movement it was the best part of this game in my mind…
💯!
Do peeps still get on? I ended up here trying to see if there was still fans playing
Overall I'm glad I got the game when I did and I'd get it again purely for zombies, but I can't justify spending 60 dollars on games for 1 mode anymore when I actually have to earn my money now 🤣😂
That's why you wait and buy the physical games on sell
@@Jactional I'm still rocking a 360 with no wifi Bub.
It's sad when one of the BEST and most unique entries in the otherwise mediocre CoD series signaled failure. Infinite Warfare was also amazing.
Forreal.. u hv to chase tbem down to get the obsidian steed. Yes yes
One of my favorites. The class setups, the maps that were “alive”. Reallllly liked it
For a game that’s title the death of cod, you seemed to really enjoy the story and multiplayer gameplay, even if the loot boxes and balance were bad. Gamplay loop wise the multi player of advanced warfare to this day has been my favorite
Thank you!!!! You just beautifully explained why SBMM is so rightfully hated in CoD!!
Not to me I’ve always Loved Advanced warfare the game was good the campaign multiplayer and esports I swear this game is one of the most forgettable games for sure but the game isn’t that bad stop believing in what others say because there opinion doesn’t matter but your own
This game did not fail. Infact it maybe had the best maps in all of cod. Guns weren't the best.
Cap
AW was great for me came out my senior year so I had hella time to actually play it and I loved it
We had no idea how good we had it back then before these new cods came out
This is, and will always be my favorite COD for online.
