Call of Duty WW2 2017 retrospective and review. This is a full COD WW2 2017 entire retrospective of the Campaign, WW2 multiplayer gameplay, and WW2 zombies all maps and modes. Call of Duty WW2 in 2022 review. How does it hold up?
The biggest props I can give WW2 now is after the games life cycle, they left double xp for player level, divisions, and weapons, on. They also left the zombie modes in multiplayer along with previous playlists and the orders give you supply boxes all the time. It's something BO3, Infinite, and BO4 needed when their life cycles ended, esspecially after the loot box fiasco.
Can you find matches on the dlc maps?
@@iseerashonal821Game is really dying now after Cold War and MW2023 came out
I have only played one DLC map in Ground War in 5 years
@@iseerashonal821 On PS4 there is definitely a solid player base. Though this game is getting less and less popular, I still can play those dlc maps when searching TDM lobbies from time to time.
I just got off ww2 i find a ton of players and i play dlc map all the time most people be on during the morning / afternoon and a decent amount at night
Only played this game during the first 6 months after launch. In the fall of 2023, is there still a player base on Xbox?
I know a lot of people didn’t like this game but the memories I’ve had with friends playing the war game mode make this my all time favorite. I enjoyed goofing around in headquarters and grinding out the camo challenges. It was the last game that my friends played with me daily. It will always have a special place in my heart.
You look like you’d have fun building a bridge
Literally same bro, the last cod game me and my friends played together
God I loved war mode. Played thousands of games
Biggest dopamine boost when you finish building that bridge.
Yeah I love this game tbh I've played every call of duty since cod4
I was playing the older wwii era cods and this one left a lot to be desired. The older cod’s had a ton of real locations to have battles at. Combine that with the “History Channel” videos and it was fantastic.
I grew up obsessed with making sure I played every call of duty. Before I ever even played an online game ever I was playing the first call of duty ever. I was there for OG zombies, ect. Black ops I remember came out when I first started the 6th grade. It was truely one of a kind masterpiece. It's wild how to this day I can remember every square inch of Nuketown. Yet as the cods got more "futurist" I started to lose interest. I still played them but I don't remember every detail of every single map like I do the first black ops. WW2 I hardly even remember eventhough it's far far newer than black ops. I see the footage and eventhough I played hours of the game i think "I don't even recognize this" and then I'll see a spot where I'll actually remember it. I played so many call of duties. So many, but I never even bought vanguard. Never even seen any footage of it. I'm pretty sure. I played modern warfare, modern warfare 2, I remember it dearly to this day. Modern warfare 3 even, but there is call of duties that came out somewhere in there that was so bad to me that I can't even remember the name of it. I think zombies was best in the OG maps. Kino der toten was my favorite but the advancement to ascension, all the way to moon. moon was first of it's kind. I was hooked. Then When transit zombies came out, deep down I knew it was an "upgrade" but it lost the character to me because it was harder to train the zombies to get to higher levels. They'd just kill you on the bus after a while. I had a harder time understanding what was even happening, and that felt like it only got worse as more zombies came out. They went ham don't get me wrong, probably some of the most advanced zombies maps ever made, but they got so complex and I got so confused that I didnt feel that urge to want to get on and play with my friends who I had grown up playing multiplayer and zombies with. We just moved on. I would rather play kino DER toten a million more times ontop of the million attempts I've already got, rather than play transit tbh. Black ops was so so good at setting the mood and the simplicity was huge. It wasn't until cod warzone where I really came back because it had such killer graphics. Combined with the fact they took the leap and went into battle royal game mode but we also had entirely new game modes like gunfight. During when cod got futurist for a while and killed it for me, I got into battlefield because it brought that feeling of realism back and with a vengeance. BF1 was my first and favorite the servers with operation metro 24/7, you just can't beat it. Gulf of Oman, Caspian border, ECT. I played these maps with the same friends I played cod zombies with growing up, and we made meant great memories. I was hyped for BF4 because of the levelution and it was dope. I was hooked and I was so ready for BF1 and it was great and all, but it just didn't hit the same for some reason. It was better in others but running around with a bolt action just isn't as fun as running around with an m16a4 watching Abrams tanks blowing down a skyscraper. Tank vs tank warfare while you're on foot chilling on a rooftop with the squad sniping across the bay. It was so much fun and for some reason going back in time which I wanted, ended up not being as fun as I thought it would be.
What is wrong with you typing all of this ???

@@thunderkatz4219 I know. I grew up watching the war documentaries on History Channel but the aliens took over.
I'm tired of people saying that cod ww2, battlefield v, and cod vanguard are bad games because they're ww2. They're bad games because they are BAD GAMES. You can make awesome games in the ww1 and ww2 Era, but stop making excuses for cod ww2 and vanguard being bad because they're ww2. They're bad because they're fundamentally bad in terms of design, content, etc.
No, cod ww2 is sadly hated alot but BF V and vanguard deserved all the hate, even now if you jump to those 2 it looks more like a circus instead of a world war 2 game
BF5 is actually good especially with the last tiger mission
how are u comparing ww2 to bf5 and vanguard? ww2 is atleast authentic while bf5 has cyborg ladies and vanguard is just fantasy ww2
Nah people hate on ww2 bc they never gave it a shot. One of my fav cod games. They did a lot of things right to where they could get some other stuff wrong bc the game was overall so fun
I have to point out something you got wrong. The fog in Darkest Shore actually has a proper mechanic. Zombies can't see you unless you fire your guns. This means that you can freely melee and execute them (hence the Melee Wonder Weapon). I WILL say that the Meuchsler (or whatver they're named) are a double edged sword. They're unironically freaky because of how strong they are, but that, plus the fog, plus you having to unload like 2 whole clips on them so they won't instantly put you in a red screen is kinda... flawed. If headshotting them would stun and force them to retreat, I think it'd've been better
They easy to kill
I love your grammar💜

"it'd've"
Cod WW2 ending: somber, critical..
Vanguard: Commit a atrocious Warcrime or watch the writers self insert do it, no reflection or consequence.
I hope no one ever lets samtha maggs anywhere near a video game again.
One thing that I've always wanted CoD to do but seemed to have never been interested in is making a Vietnam or WWI game. Black Ops did have a few missions at Vietnam and was very memorable for me, so I always wanted to see an entire game centered around it. Battlefield I was amazing centering on the first World War, so the fact that CoD has never really touched it really seems like a missed opportunity (Origins technically was their first attempt at it, but obviously took a lot of liberties with the concept).
I'm just a sucker for the advanced movement. Still miss It and would give anything to see It back, although I admit that MW2019 was superior to the "Future Trinity" of AW, BO3 and IW in all aspects except Zombies (BO3 will always be the best).
@@bigbangrafa8435 I found aw movement to be extremely fun if you got good at it and it would be an amazing party game mode to add to games just so people can fuck around with the advanced movement
The Vietnam War is still a very controversial war. Hence games being written/censored in ways as to not piss off certain countries, groups and entities. That's why it cracks me up when gamers are like "I dOnT wAnT PoLiTiCs iN GaMeS! GaMeS sHoUlDnT bE PoLiTiCaL!"
Fun fact: what became Cold War was supposed to be just that. But Raven and sledgehammer kept fighting cause Raven wanted to meddle a lot
@@bigbangrafa8435 it'd be amazing if call of duty adopted a less rigid momentum system and re introduced a tweaked version of advanced warfare movement to make a modern movement shooter
Besides the gameplay stuff, it's incredible how good this game could look at times. Especially those pre-rendered cutscenes
Those pre rendered cutscenes are somethin else man
As someone who has put literally 3000+ hours into WW2 zombies, completed every single character challenge, and done every Easter Egg more times than I can count, it is definitely my favorite iteration of zombies by a long shot. I made so many friends online who were just as passionate about this zombies mode as I was and the community surrounding this game in its prime was unlike anything I’ve seen before or since. I could sit here and list off tricks for doing challenges, Easter Egg steps……the whole nine yards but there’s just so much to this game I would be here forever talking about it
On top of all that, if it wasn’t for WW2 zombies I would never have met my fiancé. We both had a mutual friend who lived in Nevada who made a joke saying that “you’re both Canadian so you should know each other.” We happened to live an hour and a half away from each other so we decided to hang out one day and eventually we started dating and to this day we’ve been together for over 3 years and have a beautiful home together
Also on a side note, you can do Tortured Path EE in custom games. You have to change the map to the next one for each one you complete but if you mess up at all, you have to change it back to the first map start over. Helped lots of people with that Egg in custom games
3000 hours? Do you even have a life? What in the actual fuck
That’s good for you, myself and many others love call of duty, but completely skipped purchasing this one. Props to you and your fiancé, but this game sucks
@@jasonsolis5416 your opinion isn’t valid then because you didn’t even buy or play the game.
@@jasonsolis5416 "I didn't play this game, but it sucks." Epitome of the COD community in one comment lmfao
Yeah its not just about the game itself but also the people you play it with. CoD WaW was much simpler but playing a LAN Zombies game with your best buddied just was the best in CoD WAW
I still don’t understand what’s wrong with that train sequence? An Eiffel Tower falling in MW3, a president plane ploughing through snow taiga in MW3, a satellite getting destroyed in MW2, all that gets praised while they’re not much shorter than the train sequence in WW2. It’s a long train, it’s gonna be crashing for a while, the spectacle is also pretty good. I just don’t know man. The “length” of a clip is not a deciding factor for me especially when it’s just 30 secs
idk maybe it's the fact all of that just flew AROUND Daniels without hitting him at all
People wanted cod ww2 to be "serious" I guess.

I don't know why it did so bad. Go back and play it now. It's legit an old school cod. A true return to form.

It's funny that people always beg for boots on the ground and then bunny hop spam, dolphin dive spam, drop shot spam, ads-fire while hopping spam........
Basically everything *except* keep their flipping boots on the ground.
People play MW II like it's Apex Legends.
I think "we want boots on the ground" ultimately was code for "we want cod to go back to when it was new and interesting", which will never happen at least in the way it once did. It's just part of things changing and moving on.
I’m not trying to shit on the devs who probably busted their asses to make these games (AW, WW2, and Vanguard), but it’s been three strikes for Sledgehammer. I think it’s time they go back to being a support studio. If Activision still wants three devs for CoD, maybe they should bump Raven up to a main dev.

-I havent played the campaign so I cant judge it
-the final Reich wasnt great but was pretty promising and then the rest of maps just flopped after that
-Multiplayer was straight up bad for a long while after launch but if anyone stuck around for a while like me, the game made a TON of improvements and certainly was enjoyable toward the second half of its cycle
some good qualities in an otherwise mediocre game, and after Vanguard which is actually 100x worse, SHG should just get absorbed by IW or 3ARC as a support team.
CoD WW2 should be titled CoD: Fake
History. I remember when I saw one of the trailers where a soldier says the Germans "are killing Jews" I laughed out loud.
Eisenhower conveniently omitted Jews in his speech about the victims of WW2. Americans did NOT care about the Jews. America only entered the war because France was in trouble and then there was worry about the Pacific.
Also America's forces were diverse in the real WW2. For example East Asians served in the army. And there were Native American pilots who wore facepaint! And this game depicted none of the true history of America in WW2.
I loved the multiplayer launch and most criticism I see of it on launch I just didn't agree with. I thought the spawns made sense, I liked most of the maps, I loved the gun play
Or fire them from the CoD franchise they basically screw 3ARC games plus could made a competent CoD by their own.
@@noobbotgaming2173 Its an arcade-esque shooter, they never said they were going for complete historical accuracy or realism and they dont have to. Half of the people that play cod dont even play the campaigns anymore so it's not like they even focus on them or make them half the time anyway.

11:30 The menus of this game remind me of a point I heard in a game critique that menus are over designed just like shopping malls or stores are over designed to get you lost and I hope you’ll spend money, or at least more money than you were planning on. nah it's just poor design
What you said at 44:40 might be just what is about to happen again to MWIII in 2023 all riding on nostalgia and people are already onto it sooner than later.
COD WW2 was incredible, I loved it before and after the MP overhaul. I also never got any DLC so I exclusively played The Final Reich when it came to zombies (which turned out to be a good thing apparently) and I know that map like the map of my hand to this day. It had so many game modes to play in MP, so many weapons and cosmetics to unlock - all for free! I don't care if it was a little grindy, you were able to rack up armory credits relatively fast and there were daily and weekly challenges to unlock supply drops and more credits. There was also the daily reward of them you'd get that would increase everyday you logged in in a row. It was also the last COD to have map voting and no lobby disbandonment, I believe. I didn't get BO4 till it was free on Plus and I haven't played it in a while so I don't remember if it has those 2 things. I truly feel COD WW2 was the last good COD we got - especially in terms of content and rewards.

This game was a masterpiece - It was so much fun, and continues to be! I don't understand all the hate because this was literally what people wanted, and it delivered on being brought back to CODs roots. All we had when we were kids, were WWII games on PS2 and GameCube. The campaign is similar to the older Medal of Honor games, so there's so much nostalgia, plus really fun moments of like the train scene. That's a cinematic masterpiece, and you're crapping on the hard work and dedication people put into it. The developers actually cared about this game...unlike Vantard.
Multiplayer is so much fun as well. There's so much detail in the weapon sounds, their appearances, to the maps and also the game modes. Ground War is insanely fun! The hub is whacky, and I rarely ever go there unless I'm prestiging my class or character.
Zombies is what helped me become a better player and get used to training, going for high rounds, and also doing Easter Eggs. There's so much to do in all the maps, and some things are relatively easy to do. Being able to drop your money is also extremely helpful because I always rack up points to give to others who need to buy their armor for the 50th time. These zombies maps are the perfect balance of being easy yet hard enough for experienced or new zombie players to enjoy. 10/10 would recommend 🔥
Anyway, that's my thoughts right now anyway...gonna continue on with the video.

All the characters in the in this game were generic and boring , the older ww2 games had multiple fronts and stories and were pretty crazy and exciting. If they only would’ve built on it for this game, it would’ve been a classic
WAR mode was a big innovation. Land on the beach, take out the pillboxes, fall back and take more stuff until you get the 88s; or where you take the cmd HQ, build a bridge to get across the gulch, then hit the 88s. You had teamwork, objectives, and many places to cover to support your team. That was the best, I can't believe they didn't bring it back in some form.
I really enjoyed the campaign in WWII, and it was the COD that brought me back into the series after years of avoiding it.
Love the video Chopper!
The Campaign to me was the highlight of COD:WW2, the characters were great, I thought Josh Duhamel gave a great performance as Pierson, Red was a great protagonist and the tone was set with the first mission which was of course storming the beach at Normandy.
The characters were great?... You have very low standards.
That start of the campaign was brutal and the game looks good, haven't made it that far in the game but I've been debating between it or Infinite Warfare.

The COD community flip flops 24/7. Back then we were crying about how we didn't want jet pack and futuristic games and how we want WWII. Now that we have WWII everyone is begging for AW 2 or IW 2 and jetpacks. The developers can literally never win in this situation
I'd like to add on to this. I've noticed years of complaining about boring 3 lane symmetric maps. Infinity ward brings back maps with actual design and points of interest, power positions, cover, ect and the community complains. It's why I do not take the cod community seriously.
As a mostly campaign player I like to see Cod innovate in terms of gameplay mechanics, level design, length, narrative and setpieces, not doing the same thing over and over. It's why I'm at least curious about black ops 6. Treyarch were never afraid to try completely different things for campaign.
@@chozochiefxiii3298doing what the community wants is different from doing what the community wants WELL. map design being more complex is good, it being too large to find players or incentivizing camping is not. there’s reason for their wishes but often those wishes are poorly executed.

The funny thing is that BO2 or MW2 (2009) being considered the cream of the crop, were to drop today yall would literally just trash them. They were not balanced. They were not fair. They crashed a ton. We just played them and had fun. period. Activision has released a decent COD game every year for over a decade. They aren't perfect. They all have flaws. Hand this game to a 16 year old in 2009, guaranteed they are super pumped at how different and refreshing WW2 was. the gun play in this game was actually probably cleaner than they "OG" cods. They came back in and revived WW2 later in its life cycle and the game was really fun.

This comment really hit me hard. This is so true, and it really answers why the old school fans never seem to be satisfied.
I’m not the most hardcore CoD fan. I started playing during World At War, but the first CoD game I owned was Black Ops 1. I still love that game. But I’ve always jumped in & out of the franchise. I’ve never been one to buy every game. But the same magic I had when I was a kid is still with me today, because I still play the way I did as a kid. (Just more skillful. haha) Instead of playing it after school, I play it after work. I just hop on and have fun. That’s what it’s all about.

You're absolutely right. In game development, it's critical to learn what's best for the general gameplay and not try to make something you think others want or what would be fun to you because it's not good for the actual product.
One thing I did really love with WWII zombies is that some of the storyline was inspired by German mythology and folklore which also got me into German mythology
I highly enjoyed this game from start to finish. Was absolutely amazing after the huge update, war was an amazing game mode and the guns were quite balanced in my opinion the maps were pretty straight forward call of duty maps we all used to know and love. And the campaign was really good, if this came out instead of vanguard this year the community would’ve been extremely happy I think. I had good memories on ww2
Finally a voice of reason in these despicable comments. Ww2 is the best call of duty by far imo. It and black ops 2 are the only games I felt attempted to be realistic.

I personally loved WW2 zombies. Even the tortured path gave you 3 small survival maps like Tranzit did and Vanguard did absolutely awful. It had 3 maps with 4 wonder weapons each which is amazing for me. It captured the horror vibes of Nacht very well and it never had an uber annoying bullet sponge. Double pack not being in it was fine for me because it was super tedious in cold war and broken in BO3. Also Darkest Shore is far from the worst when Infection and Tranzit and Beast exist which are all nearly unplayable.
A lot of people do not like this game but I will be honest, I fell in love with ww2 even when it was at its worst (launch)
The gameplay was just so fun and arcadey. WW2 did supply drops better than bo3 because you could earn them in-game and didn’t need to spend money, all you had to was do was grind especially when orders/contracts came out. I loved the fact that they had many events and came out with so many new guns. I hated the zombies but other than that I lived off MP
I grinded this MP like hell and I wish you talked on the revamp MP went thru after Michael C left. The division system at launch was horrid as it locked you to using certain classes to get the most out it's abilities. After the revamp it felt really like playing a WaW esque MP experience, it wasn't pick 10 but it was a hell of a lot more as your class came with perks and then equipped another perk in your perk slot and now allowed all the division restrictions to be more lenient, aka detachable surpressor for airborne class but now all classes can equip their smg with a non detachable surpressor ( wasn't that way prior). Another thing is I do HATE the pistol grips but I haven't spent a dime on the game and have quite a bit of great gear and tons of credits from duplicates. The War mode needs to make a return, I loved that mode so damn much and I'll never forget the "B IS RETREATING KEEP FIRING!!!" bug that I think still comes up often. War made the MP have a lot of character that I never felt in another MP. And my last lil memory will be for the first week my friend and I were on the chalkboard outside the Commanders Quarters for the first week. I know it ain't crazy but it was so cool to see I made a ton of progress quickly. I love this game and it's a top 10 CoD for me.
20:42 I remember this part better than any other in the campaign. After an intense fight with an armored train, that long sequence with its exceptional sound design made it really feel like our ordinary character had accomplished something great and only survived because of sheer luck.
The main reason why Cod Games, especially WW2, failed is because the COD community is so bad at making community decisions. Everyone wants this series to succeed, but everyone wants something different. Everyone is different, yet everyone wants 1 thing, for the game to be "good". Everyone wnats something different, like the headquaters, supply drops, broken weapons, basic weapons, 3 lane maps, large maps that are not 3 lane, so it makes it impossible to satisfy everyone. Not every game is made for everyone, especially a COD game, especially when it comes to thing like WW2, or WW89. Activision/Treyarch or whoever the hell is making the game has so much stress on their shoulders to satisfy everyone, so they have to cut corners. *cough* ColdWar *cough* Vangaurd. No one can make up their mind, yet everyone gets mad at Activision, where they were trying their best.
The only thing that people can agree on is supply drops are the worst thing ever,
and Chopper makes good ass videos, great job man, love ya👍
can guarantee u theres ppl out there, at least one person, who will defend supply drops 😭
That’s the issue I see. The game was and is awesome. Just got back into it. Sure there’s some shotgun cheese, but the game is fantastic. It had a terrible launch, and the lifecycle was rocky, but after the pressure was taken off of them, they made an awesome product.
I don’t think it can be ignored that the community is a large part of why these game developers are struggling to put out an awesome product. Like you mentioned, Cold War & Vanguard.
If you try to please everyone, you please no one.
WW2 is actually one of my favorites from Call of Duty
Honestly this is the game that got me back into call of duty…I might be in the minority but i actually really enjoyed this game after years of the JetPack bullshit
Never been into cod but when this came out, I had a blast. Made me want to keep playing COD. Mw 2019 really made me a fan.
This game is really good, got so much hate for nitpicky things. I honestly rate it higher than a lot of other cods
I didn’t mind the advanced movement, it’s just cause it was 3 years in a row. It would have been nice if we could have gone back and forth with that feature. Advanced warfare was a game I actually really enjoyed!
I actually liked this game. Singleplayer was fun, great cinematics and nice gameplay, also zombies had great atmosphere. I don't play much online multiplayer, but it's nice in splitscreen, I used to play it with my gf.
When is COD going to do a 'real war' after WW2? Other than a couple missions in the original Black Ops we've never done Vietnam, no Iraq, no Afghanistan, nor pre-WW2 stuff like WW1 or the Civil War
WW2 will in my opinion always be the most underrated Call Of Duty game for me despite its glaring issues. The campaign while mainly a basic WW2 story did have some great moments like Turner's death, and in my opinion having the best depiction of D-Day in a video game. The multiplayer also had its issues such as its basic map design but I poured tons of hours into the war mode which I thought did a good job of adapting it for CoD while differing itself from BF1's operations mode by having you complete different objectives in each sector
The actual reason the game failed was the way how it was designed which was later on fix but the damages was too much that didnt matter the state of the game
This is pretty much exactly how I felt about this game. At first I was relieved to have a game that wasnt in the future, but WW2 left almost no impression on me and had no personality. I ended up abandoning it a few months in and just never went back to it
Ngl this is one of my favourite cods of all time it still holds up to this day
I loved WW2 it had so many great things. The variety of ww2 era weapons alone made it great it had all the classics plus guns most of us never heard of before playing this game. I also like the daily challenges that were separate on multi-player and zombies to keep you coming back everyday. The easy access to lots of crates just by grinding away and collecting mail. They would have little events in the lobby area for different holiday seasons. All the war modes were cool and different like the Normandy map even had some building mechanics for the ladders and sniper towers. They nailed the cosmetics in this game which 99% of the time I don't care about. I could go on...especially compared to the dumpster fire called Vanguard this game was a masterpiece.
I have yet to play Vanguard but I'm having a hard time believing it's as bad as people say it is.
@@LowResLeafa It isn't honestly. The zombies is pretty rough but the multiplayer is a lot of fun and the campaign is enjoyable albeit with rough pacing due to so much of the game being disconnected origin stories. Most of the negative sentiment is just from people whining about "historical accuracy". I'd frankly play Vanguard any day over the original 3 cod games.
This was actually one of my favourite and imo one of the best cods since the 360 Cods
20:47 to be fair, I thought this was pretty badass, felt like a movie
Train go boom 🤡
One thing that really stands out to me was the passion from sledgehammer, I feel they truly did listen to fans on this one to the point of completely overhauling the game mid season, it overall wasn’t bad at all especially after that update, I had a lot of fun memories on this one, me and my now fiancée played this a lot and had a ton of fun, it turned her to quite the cod fan after growing up not really playing games
Can you still find matches on the dlc maps?
19:12 Thanks so much for pointing this out. I cannot tell you how much it actually feels good when these publishers and game developers actually do diversity right, instead of the tokenising and insulting pandering they usually do. As a black person who loves video games, diversity has always been secondary to my enjoyment of them. As long as the story or gameplay are great, it doesn't matter. If it does have good diversity that's a nice bonus. What I and most people cannot stand is the pandering and superficial tokenism of current year.
The cod community got tired of ww2 so we got futuristic. then they complained about it being futuristic and wanted cod to go back to ww2. We got ww2 and they complained about it. outside of what features make up these cod games, the cod community don't know what it wants, and thats to be expected from opinions from a community of millions and millions of players.
Even though I was like 13 when it came out, It is still my favorite cod i've played. I liked the headquarters, the way you claimed challenges, completed collections, opened supply drops, I don't know why but it just made me feel more "involved" rather than just doing all that stuff on the main menu.
Thats crazy dude, think about it. You’re like 17-18 now right?
Time really is flying by. When I was 13 I was playing BO2, and I played BO2 for a couple years because Ghosts and AW were boring and unfun to me. Ten years later and here we are.
You’ll be looking at WWII like my BO2, and theres absolutely nothing wrong with that. Its my biggest gripe with the CoD community, because they hold MW2 and BO2 to such a high level, but end of the day its all subjective. All that matters is the experiences you had in any of the games.
@@suppressed_viii When I was 13, I was playing World At War. haha Time does fly. I feel old now.
EDIT: But wow!! What a game to start with!! BO2 literally has nothing wrong with it.
Same here, i was around 13 when this came out while its not my favourite cod it’s definitely up there
So was that you at 9:33?
When people say they want to go back to ‘the good ol days’ they usually mean the time when they didn’t have stress and were playing games with their friends often together. No game made will replicate that.
How do you know that's what they mean? Did they tell you that?
@@josedorsaith5261 "🤓 DiD tHeY tELl YoU tHaT??" Dweeb. Go to the comment section of any "[classic COD] in 20xx" video and most of the comments are some variant of "Playing all night with friends. No real responsibility besides school. I miss those days." Even a dork like you can connect the dots with that information.
This zombies experience is super underrated and probably in my top 5 for sure
Agreed
@@CL-el9bd bo3 cw iw ww2 bo1 last one could be replaced with bo4 to each there own
Maybe I'm the oddity here but I would have to say this is an opinion and not a fact. Long story short, I stopped playing cod mid bo3 and was determined to never pay another dollar to them. My friends got me to play ww2 with them and it was so good I bought it and all dlc. It was the first game I ever master prestiged and earned mastery camos. It was so perfect. My friends and I played it clear up to the current mw2. Which we only switched because ww2 broke making it so all of a sudden we couldn't form parties...
I loved WW2 it was on of the games I really enjoyed it was underrated because I feel like even tho the fan base didn't overly liked it I loved the campaign and multiplayer zombies was mid but I still did Easter eggs for the maps
I miss the days of solid COD single player campaigns. I at least thought this one was a good afternoon of fun. I DESPISE COD multiplayer.
I love this type of content, please keep this shit up bro! I make sure to watch every minute to help your watch rate. 👊🏿
Man, you don't even KNOW how bad the wallbangs are on Shipment 1944. You will join a game where the entire other team is just 6 guys continuously firing LMGs into spawns IMMEDIATELY killing you over and over again. And mounting with the Armored division lets you take from your reserve ammo rather than the mag so they don't even have to reload
Idc what anyone says...I still and always will love this game. I come back to it often. The graphics are so nice, the zombies is easy, multiplayer is cool, and the campaign was great
i have completely forgot i even played this one cause i remember skipping over vanguard when im thinking of recent ww2 cods, but this video brought back many memories and i did enjoy the war mode
Hi Chopper,
I just want to say, I stumbled upon your first cod retrospective video and since then I’ve been hooked and watched every single one through twice. I’m 23 now so these games where such a huge part of my childhood that it’s flooding memories back to me that I forgot I had! Your commentary style is so good and it’s so informative and has me completely hooked.
I know that you said that you might be looking at doing non cod games as well.
Around the time of AW, I didn’t like the jet pack movement system, so I bought a destiny Ps4 bundle.
Would you ever consider doing a destiny 1 video? That would bring many memories flooding back.
Thanks man
Thought this game was its own special gem that was needed after jetpack cod. I believe it fell due to popularity of battle Royal in 2017, aka PubG and Fortnite blew up..
WW2s campaign did everything I needed it to. At the time, I hadn’t fully enjoyed a campaign since bo1. It was innovative for cod, and had a pretty great flow of progression through the missions. I didn’t really play anything else for the game, but I did like the general graphics for the game, especially from a spectator standpoint. However, I have to say that sledgehammer always has a pretty good HUD, much better than IW and Treyarch imo
@Sexy Rose I’m in a younger area and I loved the original 3 cod games, modern warfare, WaW, bo1 and 2. But I still greatly love the ww2 campaign and I think it has better story than half the other games. So what’s your point? Oh right you don’t have one other than “you’re young shut up”
@@Czarwinters3313 none of those call of dutys are original. Go back to ps2/game cube and play Finest hour and Big Red one they were truly the original call of dutys.
Surely looks good. What I can't get over is how almost comically bad Sledgehammer is at sound design. The train crash is an excellent example. You see this absolutely massive crash and what do you hear? A bit of metal, some pebbles rolling around and a lot of bass boosted "cinematic" sound lmfao
@@MalakaiDerg sledgehammer is so far below treyarch and iw that it’s not a good time when we learn they’re coming out with a video game lol
@@Jeffardy24 We will see what they have in the future but yeah, after Vanguard I'm afraid I don't have any interest lol. Hoping the best for MW2 tho
You’re wrong. We knew we wanted boots on the ground. You cant just make an absolute shit game and say it failed cause it was boots kn the ground. “We gave ya what ya wanted”. Boots on the ground is just the start there’s much more that’s needed, good maps, fun guns, balance, etc the list goes on.
Spot on
This game is still a top 5 in my opinion, it was an awesome entry, after the patches of course
war mode was so fire, definitely my favourite experience in a recent cod from a gameplay perspective
Still for me the best CoD in recent years. Had one of the roughest starts in CoD history but the overhaul turned it into THE complete game. Love the movement style, boots on the ground, the weapons, the camos (even the animated MPs). Zombies is also fucking awesome.
Still play it in bascially every stream and I hope, I can reach MP 1000. Currently sitting at 960+ (Zombies 2nd MP)
I have like 500 or 600 supply drops to open and more than 400k armory credits, but nothing to spend them on, since I already have everything from the shop, haha
Also, this game has the best version of Shipment. Change my mind.
This game was very fun. Best multi player game COD has produced since BO2. Watch the rank play vids from dudes like Scump and Ryan Bacardi. They still hold up to this day.
I really enjoyed this one, I was sad it didn’t do well.
cod ww2 is a really good game and is very slept on
I’m saying this before watching the entire video but honestly I loved Cod WW2, I know it had a rocky launch but once they overhauled the divisions the multiplayer was so much fun, like genuine fun. The campaign was solid and the zombies- though not treyarch, I thought was solid as well and the events throughout the year- shamrock and awe and days of summer etc were fantastic and made the experience even better
I know right it had some of the smoothest knifing of any COD
Multiplayer, it was such a great game
haven't watched the whole video but nowadays ww2 multiplayer is pretty fun if you're doing war mode 👍👍
War is a classic, wish that became a staple. Best combination of sweaty and casual
War was the best, especially since the base Multiplayer maps were kind of bad, so it made up for it.
I never really play COD for anything but the campaigns. I wait until they’re cheap usually. The campaign in WW2 was really fun and zombies was cool too. My fav is still WAW tho best campaign in the series.
I think it's one of the best but not *THE* best. It's the best WW2 era COD but I'm personally more of a MW (original trilogy, not reboot) and black ops (1-3 only since 4 was bad)
Black ops 1 is my favorite but I agree WaW slaps.
I really enjoyed this one i loved the campaign the cinematics the multiplayer was fun for me i prestiged once the zombies wasn’t the best but was different fun for awhile I think advanced warfare in comparison was kinda boring but that’s just me
Well i tell you what, i was asking for a WW2 game that was like the originals. I was not asking for James Bond set in WW2.
I usually love your opinions but this one is crazy. This was an amazing zombie game
Maps weren’t amazing at all lol but the first one was actually.
I'm 38 and have completed every call of duty.
World at war, black ops 1 & 2, mw2, & ww2 are the best.
However, I strongly disagree with the hate, I have completed all black ops zombies ee and I rate the campaign zombies and multilayer in ww2 as being up there with the best.
However due to my age I prefer the old school ww1 ww2 realistic games to the futuristic ones so I guess a lot of the hate comes from the younger generations who dictate how these games are made, let's be honest that's who thet are aimed at.
Very good game, very underrated, oh, and the hq idea is great for socialising, never been done in a game and probubly won't again, I think it's great and would love to see a sequel to this maybe letting you play as the Russians, British, heck the Germany and Japanese, to see the war from other nationality sides, they all fought there own fights and all games and movies tend to be from the usa perspective.
Great game that took me back to the old school war games of my youth. BIG ❤ FOR WW2.
