Unlike a lot of players, my best friend and I never really moved on past this game playing it right up to the CoD4 remaster as our go to CoD. Which by that point the game began to get over ran my "modders" with things like aim bot and permanent UVA. But as you mentioned the game gave you pretty much everything you could imagine for all situations. And we trolled modders for years through corny strategies. Finally we took out the discs for the final time I guess half a decade ago already with a final in-game time of 393Days.
    RIP to thee GOAT of CoDs. There will never be another one like you.

That's what leads into the safehouse mission and why he killed ghost and roach, it would've revealed that Sheppard helped Makarov start ww3 in the hopes of taking down the big "villain" and become a hero again because his reputation was tarnished due to the nuke in cod 4 decimating his men.

This was absolutely more than a game, and it put Call of Duty on the map in such a way that the franchise is now literally a part of the Western cultural lexicon. My mom knows what Call of Duty is and this is the same woman who still thinks all console games are Nintendo games. The franchise is referenced in movies, TV, music... That all started with this game. This was the game that officially snatched the console FPS crown from HALO. The impact this game had on both the franchise and the industry as a whole are undeniable, both for better and for worse.

I was always pretty social at school, but it never really extended past being generally friendly and small talk. I'll never forget I had a final for speech class. Which involved me and 4 other guys that had to do it to pass. Two of the guys were on the football team. The other 2 were normal slackers. I always dressed punk or goth depending on the day. Our speeches took maybe 5mins each, the rest of the class (which was an hr longer for testing) was spent talking. I had planned on sleeping the rest of the time, but of course video games came up and we all got into it. MW2 was the thing we talked the most about. Close to the end one of the footballers who turned out to be the QB said "Huh, you guys are pretty cool. It's a shame we will probably never talk again." I shoot back with "That's just the way, it's not like we hang out at the same places. It's not like we're going to go out of our way to see each other. I'd say we could play a game, but I play on PC and I wouldn't want your 1.2 KDR lookin' ass dragging me down. You'd prolly feel the same way about me on the field."(I had a 5.2 at the time.)

    I remember I got this game when I was 10 and was playing the campaign in my living room and my parents were sitting in there and then came the godlike No Russian mission😂 I was told to shut my PS3 off and take it upstairs lmfaooo
    Edit: Reading everyone’s comments is so wholesome, it’s insane how a single game can positively impact our lives

    There was a type of investigation in the lore, I guess from what was said by one of the developers is that Russia knew Makarov was behind the airport massacre, however they were under the impression that they were funded by the American government to carry it out. More specifically the CIA.

    Looking back at it now, I think it would've been GAME CHANGING if the EMP was able to stop a nuke AFTER it's been called in. No one really ever bothered with going for an EMP at 15 kills BUT it you had the ability to stop a nuke with it, I think alot of people would've ran it and it would've been a complete game changer

    I was a sophomore in highschool when MW2 came out. I had a very small group of friends (we were the nerdy weirdo outcasts) and this game got me out of my shell so to speak, even brought me closer to my family members that I played multiplayer with. Hell I joined an MLG clan, remember MLG? MW2 and Bad Company 2 were my formative experiences and I cherish the memories I have of them. I hope the reboot sequel coming up is at least okay.

    When he reviewed the campaign and he said "dosen't matter It's About the adventure" honestly its another way to say its a plot hole but he's too nostalgic to say its a plot hole.

    • @TemLightKiBlade
      @TemLightKiBlade Год назад

      I mean he’s to nostalgic I wonder if he actually replayed the campaign XD the ‘how did they invade’ bit was literally the whole point of shepherds betrayal. He gave them the code to slip past our system to create war and defeat them to create patriots in response to people not caring his men died to the nuke in mw1. The plot makes sense, he just didn’t care lol. I’ve seen this in his other vids, I’m trying to figure out if the thing is a bit where is more in line with most who play it won’t get it, or he just literally doesn’t care to try.

    Modern Warfare 2 / Black Ops. Cannot be topped IMO
    The map designs, guns, Single players, Zombies, the music and soundtracks, even the sounds when you levelled up or completed a challenge. The friends I made on there, the memories I had, the endless hours spent from trickshotting to S&D, trying to get nukes, split screen zombies, 1v1’s on Rust, waiting ecstatically for the DLC’s to release and them actually being amazing!

My father in law used to steal them to go hunting back in the day and be able to see in the wood at night. Sure, Its not and never will be like the real night vision google used in the army in comparison. But for the price and quality of the product even after almost 14 years and still wotking like day one. Still happy I've got the collector edition.

    My parents never let me play cod when I was a kid so I never experienced the golden age of gaming and didn’t get into them until 2011 with Halo Reach. However different my entry to gaming was, I’m really glad I was still able to experience the joy of gaming and see how influential gaming was on my generation. I’ll never be able to experience the joy that was MW2 or black ops 1-2 when they were in their prime but I’m over all glad I at least got to see my friends play it.

    I think what really made mw2 such a great game was atmosphere. You could tell it was a game made for a mature audience, no octopus or clown costumes. All weapons with realistic gun sounds were used typically in the military, and the campaign was the sauce. The absolute goat. Storytelling that is brought up years later, replayed to this day, a game much kept alive. Although I thought it was cool seeing the mw2 2022 trailer, I don’t think it will ever hit off like the original mw2 did.
