I am so happy that you are doing this process of peels and videoing your experience. I am 52 and contemplating ordering some peels, so this series is perfect for me! Thank you so much. Rebecca from Kentucky
ps. I did am at home TCA peel ten years ago. There was much more than tingling, hence, I had my blow dryer with cool setting handy to blast cold air on my face to combat the burning sensation. My face peeled day three through day six. My results were minimal. Skin products and availability have improved since then and I appreciate your sharing of the brands that you are using as you go through this process with us.

@@WayneGoss I don't understand. Your skin looked great before. (Now I'm paranoid as we are of a similar age and my skin is much like yours - except my eye creases are like your after your 4x peel vide4 - but that's only because I'm ginger, so it's probably because I behave like a vampire regarding sun exposure). But otherwise, we both have pretty good skin to begin with.

I had the PRX-T33 TCA peel, one per week for 4 consecutive weeks (it contains 33% TCA, Hydrogen Peroxide and Kojic Acid. done in medspa for lots of $$). I had peeling, mostly around my mouth, all four weeks & was pretty happy with the results. 4 weeks is definitely a commitment as I had to stop my tretinoin 1% & Obagi products, but at 71, my skin has never looked better. I continued my LED treatments throughout the peeling process. I'd like to try an at-home version later in the year. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I have this peel, their body peel, and the recommended 'prepeel'. I'm ridiculously excited to finally get a chance to use it. I saw it originally on Claudia Glows 5 months ago. It's always good to have another person show how they performed the peel. I hope to get similar results. I plan to do a face/neck/decolletage series, wait four weeks, then do another. During the 'down' time for my face, I'll do my hands and arms. I have just as much damage on my forearm as I do my decolletage. Now I'm anxious to see your final result video! Looks like I've found another quality creator to follow.

Pro Tipp if you have red skin areas try 100% rose water (it gives also a bit of moisture to the skin), works like a charm and the smell evaporates after a couple of minutes for those who care about not wanting to smell feminine but also use a oil reducing creme after it, I use from Marbert wich is a german brand, it keeps the non redness effect but also it reduces oily areas

What a helpful video! Thank you for sharing your experience and also for the emphasis on control and care (the approval of your dermatologist, no extra steps in your basic skincare routine etc.). This is common sense but some do tend to go a bit overboard thinking it’ll deliver faster, better results; it’s just wonderful to see someone with a platform encouraging a decent behaviour.
Also, thank you for the information between at home vs salon, not that I live in the UK, but it helps to compare with prices/percentages I have here.
I am interested in a peeling journey myself, even though my skin is a bit compromised at the moment. When the time is right I’ll be very glad to have all this information already.
Thank you again and good luck on this peeling experience! Also, happy 2022!

So I will do some more research on it. I'm glad you mentioned that at the end about pH of peels. I am going to check mine with my pH meter. :) When you rinsed the peel off, your skin reminded me of mine after doing a regular TCA peel. I really thought your skin would end up flaking or peeling in a noticeable way. That's amazing it didn't. I can't wait to see your followup videos!🤗

So, their website lists the ingredients below. It does not say that there is 35% TCA, but the ingredients consist of 35% of the following items and others.
I have had true 35% TCA only peels in office twice a year for the past 6 years and you do peel for at least five days and it does sting mightily. It’s an extremely effective and inexpensive procedure ($150 in California).
“35% trichloroacetic acid Salicylic acid tartaric acid, citric acid glycine, proline, hydroxyproli, arginine vitamin C, vitamin B2 Gamma-aminobutyrric acid Squalane Isopropyl Miristat”.

      Beta-hydroxy acids: Salicylic acid
Alpha-hydroxy acids: Tartaric acid, citric acid
Amino acids: Glycine, Proline, Hydroxyproline, Arginine

I’ve just done my first peel. Like you I felt tingling around my eyes but this soon faded. I asked my husband how he thought my forehead felt and he thought it felt utterly smooth (his words) I really hope that this works for a really rough patch I have on my cheek. Nothing I try gets rid of it.

I describe the tingle as itching. I’ve found fanning the skin makes it itch so much more! Just letting sit on the skin was far less irritating. It stopped in its own in just a few minutes.

Why is it okay to apply directly under the eyes? I thought the skin is too thin? Thank you in advance.

You didn’t apply enough. You know it’s working when your face begins to frost. There was no white layer coating skin so nothing really happened. Try again with more layers until your skin frosts. Watch other RUclips videos to give you an idea of what that looks like. I’ve been doing them for five years now, they even frost with lower levels.

Totally agree with you that looks nothing like a peel you get in a salon…. I just had one yesterday in fact a 15% and I’m sitting here with a red face. It normally takes about a week to heal but my skin is glowing afterwards. And you are totally right you get frosting on your skin….. so to me it’s worth it and luckily for me I can work from home 🙏

This is certainly interesting! Most of all because of minimal discomfort and little, or no, downtime. I suffer from a chronic pain syndrome and any pain whatsoever will make me much worse for months, so if there’s a peel that actually works and is more kind to me than ordinary peels, I’m in!
January and February and part of March is hell for most faces living up north. The air is super dry, it’s ice cold, we’ve not seen the sun for months and are less outside, so I tend to flake all over and have to use so much skincare to get rid of dead skin cells and give some moisture. A peel would be perfect and a great way to get better skin.

Thank you so much for doing this - for us!! I´ve wanted to try a TCA peel for a long time, but was a little antsy because my skin can be somewhat sensitive and I didn´t want to hurt myself. I do The Ordinary AHA BHA peel several times per week and I love it, but would like a little more.

It is 35% BUFFERED TCA - I think that is very very important for people to know. You could never put that percentage on your face straight up.

I did 100% TCA over my entire cheek area. I feathered in lesser amounts of TCA (50-70%) on the rest of my face and neck. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS WITHOUT DOCTOR SUPERVISION and do not recommend this for darker skin!!! You will need to take antiviral and antibacterial oral meds starting 2 days prior to your peel. Use Retin A for ten days prior to the peel, then stop about four days before your peel. Use 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean everything including the table and all tools. Have a clean bowl of 91% alcohol wipes at the ready. Wash your face, then gently scrub your face with 91% alcohol. Then apply 5% lidocaine to the face and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash the lidocaine off and gently wash your face again with 91% alcohol. Let it dry, add Vaseline to your eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes, then you are ready to start the chemical peel. Use triple gloves and replace them often. Ideally it's best to lie down and have another person apply the acid who has read and watched everything about TCA peels. If you are doing it yourself, then make sure the gauze is not dripping any acid. Do the peel in sections. Ideally for a lower strength TCA peel, four layers is good. But for 100%, I would do no more than two laters. TCA will self neutralize after five minutes. After the peel, wash your face with a gentle cleanser, soak your face in clean ice water, and then apply aquaphor or Vaseline. After your peel stay indoors, rest, and stay cool. Make sure your hands are clean when putting them into the Vaseline jar. For a week, continue this cycle of washing, soaking, and using petroleum based covering. After a week you can try to use other lotions and oils, see what works best for you. I used Vitamin E, Palmers vitamin E face oil, Cerave, hyaluronic acid, coconut oil, emu oil, aloe vera, lotion with copper peptides, then I added a light layer of Aquaphor or Vaseline as the last layer. You can start using Retin A ten days post peel which will heal your skin quicker and it will help with the acne you might get from the skin detox purging. You can occasionally lightly massage your skin, it will increase blood flow and healing. Otherwise keep your hands off of the face. You might get lymphodema which is a fluid that leaks out of your lymph nodes on your face, just wash it off and apply more petroleum based product. If you swell too much you can take ibuprofen and use compression bandages for a few hours a day until the lymphodema goes away. After a while your skin will begin to itch take a benadryl and use hydrocortisone cream. This will take one month or more to heal, but could take up to three months to fully heal. This 100% TCA is only for disfigured faces. PLEASE DON'T DO THIS WITH DARK SKIN AND WITHOUT DOING TONS OF RESEARCH! My TCA peel removed all of my large pores and rolling acne pitting.
