@@PlatinumSkinCare hi, I have a question. I have darker skin ( brown) and what to know what should i use for prep before a tca peel specifically under the eyes? thank you
@@richmind5867 Hello. Anyone with ethnic skin should prep with a melanin inhibitor like our Fade Bright, or a HQ or alpha arbutin product, for 3-4 weeks prior to a TCA peel. Always start with a lower percentage of acid as well to help avoid PIH. See this video here: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peels-on-dark-skin/ TCA 7 for eyes and 7-13 for face.
The great thing about the TCA peels is that they are the EXACT SAME quality as a fancy MedSpa. I used the TCA 20% on my lips (3 passes waiting 5min between each) for some fordyce spots (white clogged pore/bumps) on my lips, it did a great job in making them less noticeable (75% improvement). Since I purchased two bottles i just figured I’d do my whole face since I was taking 6 days off of work anyways. The TCA 20% removed age spots from my cheeks, it eradicated fine lines under my eyes and it gave me a healthy glow. Platinum Skin Care is FABULOUS! Thank you !
They are indeed! Caution and always start with the 13% TCA or even 7% if you have very sensitive skin. *I just want to state that for anyone else reading here. :)
Love TCA. I use 30% TCA on the bottom of my feet 2-3 times per year. Now that's a satisfying peel, and my feet are baby soft. Typically, I use the 13% on my face and neck. I've used 20% on my face, but it's so painful, so I might use it as a first layer and then use 13% for the additional layers. My face and neck skin look smooth, bright, and evened tone. I only do TCA peels January through April, and do lighter peels starting August through December. No peeling during summer, just sunblock with vitamin c.
That sounds like a very well thought out peel regimen! Good job. Just be sure to continue with a good regimen while in between peels. :) If you need help with one, see our Regimen Builder Tool here: www2.platinumskincare.com/regimen-builder/?_gl=1*11999d1*_gcl_au*MTY3OTUzNTM3Ni4xNzI1MzYxNjI4*_ga*MTkzMjI1OTEwNi4xNzI1MzYxNjI5*_ga_T2PNQVN967*MTcyNTQ0OTE5NC4zLjEuMTcyNTQ1MDQ0MC41MS4wLjU0MDgzMjAxOQ..
I adore Platinum. These vids are a great reason - every time I do a peel I always come back to rewatch everything. It's kind of exciting. I just did another Platinum 20%TCA and am in bed with fresh pillowcases ready for bed. My routine is to peel and protect my skin - then just clean, hydrate, occlude and change pillowcases every day until peeling finishes - then I get onto the copper peptides. I tried almost all the Platinum CPs, (including the SuperCop 2nd gen etc), but I get the best results by adding a few drops of the 7% accelerator (1st gen) to my basic serums and moisturisers. This brand offers proper results and I really appreciate having these strengths available, with the vids to ensure correct use. Well done and thank you again.
@@blueberry-vw3vk It's not that intense. I used tretinoin (0.05%) daily and used salycilic 2% and/or glycolic 8% every few days. That's just baseline normal prep. If you haven't done a peel yet, then I suggest starting by deciding on a time when you can be low-profile for at least 3 days. First day after peel day, you'll look normal. Second day, normal but with uncomfortable tightness and peeling. Third day, monster - just don't go out. Fourth day, still a monster but peeling is manageable. DO NOT rush the peeling and flaking days. If you do, you'll get scars. Three to four days of suffering, but months of great skin after.
I have been watching videos about chemical peels for years, trying to work myself up to doing one. And i have learned SO much on this ONE video. I really appreciate how you took your time, and went over things other people generally skip over. Amazing Video, and i feel much better about peels now.

Hello. Ok, wonderful. I want to be sure that you are starting with a MILDER TCA though???? You have a Fitzpatrick 4+ and you will need to PREP with a melanin inhibitor for about 4 weeks. Then, after your peel be sure to AVOID the sun and use SPF 50+ if you are exposed for any amount of time. :) I suggest no more than a TCA 20 at 1 or 2 layers to start. *Remember as well the body peels much more slowly than the face. Jessners is an excellent option for body and face pigmentation.
@PlatinumSkinCare dis it , and it has done wonders. Had the fade bright but this time jus have the triple treat body wash and Shea butter can I still do the peel?
This was a really well put together video. Thank you so much! To all of you commentors... You guys really need to learn, research, find out everything about a treatment before you do it. Lots of you are coming here after the fact, or asking questions that were very clearly covered in the video. 🤦♀️ This is no regular face mask. This is a real acid. I highly suggest watching some dermatologists and estheticians on RUclips like this lovely lady I just found, or Cassandra Bankson, Dr. Dray, lab muffin beauty science, Dr. Lim, there's tons of good ones. Don't even start with peels, learn your ingredients, turn n' learn your products. If you love your skin, do it a favor and learn about it, how it works... Do you know how many days it takes for your skin cells to turn over on your face? Do you know if cetearyl alcohol is a drying or hydrating alcohol? Do you know the ingredients that you shouldn't mix together? Like retinol with vitamin C? Or how hyaluronic acid works better when your face is a little moist. Knowledge is power. I started teaching myself when Covid started. Now I feel like I know enough to cover someone's shift at a spa. 😆

@@iwaisttrain1047 Not true at all. I am assuming that you have never applied a TCA peel before - OR... that you applied something in a strength that should not be sold over the counter??? **My face certainly felt otherwise! Watch the TCA body video where I apply TCA 30 to my arms. They don't get red at all. The body has very thick skin *fingers exceptionally thick. NOW... if I put THAT on my face... YOWCH and I believe it would turn pink and then white. This is a milder percentage of 13%. Perfectly fine. Did my fingers peel... YEP. They always do and it doesn't bother me at all.
@@PlatinumSkinCare I did 25% peel on my tummy and breasts and left it for minute and a half and I got horrible burns that lasted for months. I cannot imagine someone actually put themselves at a risk and this nonchalantly touch the high % acid with no gloves and close to the eyes. You should put a disclaimer and warn people not to do same just for the security. Nothing bad if this was mock filmed same as the ads we see on TV, but does not seem you got acid at all on your face.
@@iwaisttrain1047 You do realize that we are a chemical peel manufacturer and these videos (over 100) are all filmed with detailed instructions as I walk you through the process of applying these acids correctly? I am not sure that you watched the video fully to be making comments such as these. You can clearly see the frosting and erythema on my skin. Insinuating that I am not applying it is just being rude. I am going to "assume" that the "25% tca" that you state you applied was NOT indeed that percentage. I can guarantee you, that if you received "burns" after 1 minute that this acid was not what you thought you purchased. That there ... is why you need to purchase something CERTIFIED from an actual manufacturer of a product. The acids available on ebay and amazon are NOT safe - NOR are they guaranteed to be the actual acid, percentage or pH level. Use caution with your body and face. Understand what you are doing prior to applying and learn how to care for your skin afterwards. If you received PIH discoloration - very different from a burn/scar - because you did not prep ethnic skin properly, then that is something that you need to look into for any future peels. Anyone can get PIH after a stronger peel. You need to prep with a melanin inhibitor to help avoid this from happening. That is wonderful to hear! Peels are excellent for so many things. Removing old, damaged layers and forcing New skin to move up is always beneficial. :)
Thank you Jenifer for all the tutorial videos you sensed to me ,I received the item and I start to use the TCA around the eyes following your instructions tell now every thing is going good
Wonderful! And for anyone else thinking about eye peels - here is the link: www.platinumskincare.com/eye-peel-intense-restoration-kit/ We are much more cautious with this area. Drier application and lower %.
You can absolutely do that. I suggest pre-treating with Fade Bright 2x per day for at least 2 weeks prior to applying your peel. It will help all on it's own - and then the peel will take you to the next level. Expect to do a peel series - depending on how deep the pigmentation is. A peel series is 6-8 peels average.
TCA can be used on Fitzpatrick skin tones that are 4-6... but you must pretreat with a melanin inhibitor for 4 weeks prior. Use our Fade Bright 1-2x per day or a HQ product. See this video www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peels-on-dark-skin/

You make it seem so easy 🙂 I did the TCA peel on my thighs, close to the bikini area a few years ago. I don't know what I did wrong but it burnt my skin and caused hyperpigmentation on that area making my issue even worse. I don't blame the product but I wonder what I did wrong.
Hello. If your skin is darker (olive or more melanin) then you are at a much greater risk of getting PIH. Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation. Important things to do are: 1. Pretreat the skin with a melanin inhibitor for at least 4 weeks prior to applying a peel like TCA. 2. Be sure to use a milder % on your skin. The darker it is - the lower the % to help prevent PIH. 3. If you are treating pigmentation - then Fade Bright and Jessners *as opposed to TCA. Elizabeth Detrich excellent! Enjoy your results. Remember that the neck and chest will take longer to flake. Probably 2 weeks instead of 1 like your face.
@@PlatinumSkinCare Good to know! Thanks! My freckles and sun damage has substantially lightened. I've spent thousands of $$ on IPL treatments in the past, this peel is just as effective!
I am an 18 year old east Asian. I accidentally damaged my skin (only on my upper cheek area which is a little closer to my eyes) due to a harsh product which is also not compatible to my skin, as a result it weakened my skin and my skin lost flexibility. I wanted to use TCA peel to undo the damage, so I can grow a new skin cell. I have used the 13 percent TCA peel. It took like 2 weeks to peel but when I saw the results, it looked worse, it gave me a very visible eye bag. I think because I have sensitive skin and mild oily skin since I live in a warm country. I also think the TCA peel works mostly with people with dry skin and with people with matured skin. My skin is a little thin and mildly oily as the affected area was between my eye bag and my cheeks.
I am unsure of what you mean by your skin losing its flexibility. Is there a scar you are trying to treat? *I am not sure what you originally used.... but, that could be a possibility. If you are dealing with scar tissues - I would take a look at the Super CP Serum and maybe a topical daily acid instead like the Serum 15. See here: www.platinumskincare.com/serum-15-serum-30-glycolic-mandelic-phytic-c/ www.platinumskincare.com/copper-super-cp-serum/ TCA works no matter if you have oily or dry skin. *The oilier your skin the more you have to strip as the oils protect the skin and slow the acid. An "eye bag" could just be because your skin was inflammed and you had some swelling. I do not know how WET this 13 was applied, or how many layers you applied. Too deep can cause inflammation. Start with 1 layer and next time do 2. Don't rush. Feel free to email photos to support@platinumskincare.com so we can know more. :)
I bought the 20% about 9 months ago but due to poor experience with TCA from another brand, I hesitated to do Plantium TCA peels but now that I know I can do numbing cream, I will do it tomorrow before it expires. 🙂
Our peels are guaranteed 2 years UNopened and up to 1 year after opening. TCA 20 is very strong. Not generally a starting place for a TCA peel. We recommend the 7 or 13 starting at 2 layers. Each month you can add on ONE more layer. When you are applying 5 or more layers, you can move up to the next percentage - which would be 20.
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for your videos! I have done 3 peels 2 weeks apart. I only did 2 layers each time. How many peels should I do consecutively? Should I stop at 3 and not do anymore for a certain amount of time? My skin is pretty even toned but I have some light sun spots and a few small chicken pox scars.
We recommend a peel series of 6-8 in a row. Then take a look and decide how you want to move forward. You might take a break - or do another series with a different acid or percentage.
Loretta Peters Martin yes absolutely. That would be the perfect opportunity to do so. Remember to keep your peeling to 1x per month on the eye area. :)
TCA is self-neutralizing. It will be done within 5 minutes. This is why we wait 5 minutes in between each layer. See this video to learn more: www.platinumskincare.com/neutralizing-acids-tca-hydroxy-acids/

A couple of questions...are the peels cumulative? As in the more I do, the better my results are. Does TCA stimulate collagen? Great video keep them coming! 🧡
Absolutely they are cumulative. We want you to start off with a peel Series - which is 8 peels. You will see immense improvements by this time. Moving forward will always bring more positive changes. Yes, TCA is a actually PROVEN to stimulate collagen. We have the study notated on our TCA page here: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peel-13-20-30/
How long after doing a TCA peel should I wait to do some at-home microcurrent or at-home radio frequency treatments? Thank you for all the helpful content you post and for your answers here on RUclips.
Hello. We definitely have a video on this here: www.platinumskincare.com/mixing-different-treatments-peels-needling-ipl-lasers-microdermabrasions/ On average you will be waiting at least 1-2 weeks in between.
Hello I did a tca 13% chemical peel yesterday. I applied 4 layers and waited 5 minutes for each layer. Is it normal to have very dark area to the area I applied I am a black girl and I'm scared I want to know if it will disappear or did something go wrong..
Hello. #1. Read your peel manual. #2. If this is your first peel, you will do NO more than 2 layers. 1-2 layers your first peel. #3. If you have darker skin, you need to prep with a melanin inhibitor for 4 weeks PRIOR to performing a peel. You will then be sure to use less layers and/or a lighter % to help prevent PIH. It is normal for skin to turn darker prior to flaking off. The dead skin can turn dark. But, if you did not follow the recommendations that I stated above (1-3) you could run into PIH. Be sure to avoid ALL sun. Shade face with a hat, use SPF 50, and be patient. Keep skin calm and well protected with healing oils or an ointment.
Thank you for the video! Can I use CosRx Snail Mucin 96% immediately afterwards? Then can I use CeraVe Night Cream at night? When can I start wearing makeuo again? Thank you!
Jennifer-your videos are unreal. I am watching all the beginning ones so I am prepared for when my peels arrive this week. The customer service is terrific. I wish I remembered the name of who helped me. She was helpful in picking out the basics and not giving me a whole list of things I did not need. I truly appreciated that. Question, do I need to refrigerate the peel bottle because I bought 13% and will probably be able to use it twice if I'm correct? I am going to do one pass for the first use. Thank you SO much for all this information.
No need to refrigerate the peels. Simply keep in a cool, dark cabinet or drawer. I am so happy that our customer service representative answered all your questions. Our team is really amazing here at Platinum. :)
Thank you! I just used your TCA 13% for the first time (two layers). You mention using Luminosity to speed up peeling. Can I use a tretinoin cream instead (I already have one) Thank you
The only issue with tretinoin is that it is acid. Acid can be irritating on freshly peeled skin. Our Lumonisity is a retinol. Retinol does not convert into tretinoin until it is deep in the skin - therefore, no irritation. You may of course try to use it. As always, if it is irritating, rinse and try again in a few days.
@@PlatinumSkinCare I have a vitamin A cream called Differin. I think it is less potent than tretenoin. Can I use it after a peel do you think? thank you so much!
The idea of targeting spots and wrinkles with a q tip... brilliant ! Is there any products I should avoid post TCA peel like with microneedling for instance?
If you are doing multiple modalities you need AMPLE time in between treatments for your skin to regenerate and stimulate new tissues. If you are stressing it DURING this phase - you are shooting yourself in the foot. Give it at least 4 weeks between. @@PlatinumSkinCare yes ofc Id never do both of thes in the same month unless it was only nano needling. @@liviana6885 Tissue regenerating and healing mostly right after. Once it is busy flaking... nothing is going to penetrate so just hydrate. After you are all done flaking you can go right back to your normal regimen.
I have added your skin care to my cart so many times but have so many questions and keep freaking out! I use tretinoin 0.05 about 4x per week and have done for years. Is that enough to prep with? I’d start with tca 13%, should I do two layers the first time? In this video you mention Luminosity but I thought Dream Peel was to speed the peeling. I’m religious about sunscreen and hats but do I have to wait until winter? I’m 46 this year and keen to get started.
We want your skin in a Healthy, regenerative state. Retinoids are #1 in that! So you have that part covered. I really really want to stress an acid every day too. Using a Cleanser like our 5% lactic Antiaging or our 10% glycolic Revitalizing will get that job done!! Antioxidants and then SPF 50. Really that is it. If you are doing these you are ready for a peel. TCA 13 at 1-2 layers maximum the first peel. Decide after layer 1. :) Luminosity can be used for the first 3-4 days to get the skin peeling more aggressively - and to speed it up 1-2 days for some. Dream Peel is another OPTION that could be applied 1x after the TCA peel is rinsed. These are both OPTIONS... not mandatory at all. Start with the peel and think about them at a later time. Anyone can do peels all year long - just use SPF and shade your face with a hat.
What is the after care for the days following TCA peel? I know to use Luminosty til flaking starts (then stop using it), but what else should I be putting on my face daily?
Hi there! I have freckles; I have had them since childhood (I get them from my Dad lol). Do I need the fade bright product??I’m so excited to order your products! 😁 The videos you post are so extremely helpful!
Well super! Hopefully with daily products like Fade Bright and retinol and SPF 50 of course.... then things like TCA or other peels, you will get that all brightened up and looking amazing. It just takes some time.

Great video! How soon after a chemical peel can I start using rerin-A again? I love your reference booklet but there's really no info on post peel care. And is your product Luminosity something that's applied ever day?
Post care is on each individual Acid's Application page. Generally speaking just use a healing oil like Emu oil or our Essentials Healing Blend. Some have other suggestions like kiwi? Aquaphor is generally too heavy. Only use that on deeper peels or areas that require protection. Luminosity *or Dream Peel - are booster Options that can be used after a TCA or Jessners peel. *After care on Direction page. :) Dream Peel is applied 1x only. Luminosity can be used 1x per day UNTIL the flaking starts. Then stop use. Here is the manual online: www.platinumskincare.com/peel-directions/
Nessa Nessa I suggest prepping with Fade Bright or another melanin inhibitor for 2 weeks. Then the 20% would be best for you to start off with. Try about 2 layers. You will wash. Prep with alcohol. Apply peel. Wait 5 minutes. Then apply a second layer OR, rinse everything off. Then you can do that 1x per month.
Hello. You do not want to apply acids after a peel. ***Hyaluronic "acid" is different. It is not irritating. Your mandelic serum or retinA... any other hydroxy acids .. they are all no-no's.
Hi there. No, I always have a terrible time tanning. LOL. It was probably summer and I had some tanning cream on my face to give myself some color. I also like to add a bronzer to my face daily so I am not so pale.
I highly suggest that you rethink that: 1. because of your skintone. It's too aggressive as a beginner peel. 2. because this is very strong and we suggest beginning with the 13% at 1-2 layers only. Then build up in layers until you reach 5. If you want more than that you can move UP to the TCA 20. Your skin will require 2-3 week prep with melanin inhibitors as well. See here: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peels-on-dark-skin/

@@armani9599 Yes, please apply immediately after rinsing your peel off and drying the skin. Then you can apply it for the next few days or so .. until the skin really starts flaking. Then you can stop and keep the cream for a future use or continue using until the syringe is gone.
Hi! I recently JUST found your channel, and the Facebook group! Omg! I love your products. Anyway, when my kit gets here, I plan to do a really deep peel on my face. I bought the 20%. If I do two layers of the 20%, how long do I wait before doing another?? I’m going to do 2 layers of the 20. 😊
Hello. I do not know if you have worked UP to the TCA 20 by using someone else's peel in the past??? But that is NOT an ok place to start with TCA. Do NOT do this. Start with a 7 or 13% at 1-2 layers the first time. In subsequent peels you can add on ONE more layer each time. IF you are doing 5+ layers, and want more, then you can move up in % and begin again with 1 layer. PREP is mandatory. Acid cleanser, Melanin inhibitor (especially i you are Fitzpatrick 4+), Retinoid and SPF 50 The darker your skin ... the longer the prep ... and the lower the % of acid.
You mentioned you would need aprox 8 peels to start seeing really good results... If I do one a month for 8 months, I'm currently on month 5 and doing 5 layers 13% - what do you recommend (after you've had 8 peels) as part of your facial beauty routine? do you suggest continuing 1x per month on-going or how often to get best benefits once you've completed the initial 8 peels do you recommend per month/year etc? thanks!
You don't have to keep doing a monthly peel. You can cut back and just do one every few months or so. Keep yourself happy. Use Retinol or an acid serum daily to keep things looking great in between peels.
Hello. Thank for the information. Could you tell me the proper TCA's percentages on NOSE'S PORE OR SCAR? I want to peel my nose to improve my pores. I'm gonna thank you if you tell me it! Hope you have a nice day.
All peels can help a bit at tightening pores. ... but your biggest way to do that is with Retinoids every single day. It will take months, but the use of retinol/retinA/retinaldehyde.... will shed the inner lining and tighten pores in the long run. I would start there. See this video on that: www.platinumskincare.com/what-can-i-do-to-shrink-my-pores-1/ *Keep in mind that your pores WILL get larger as you age. ... so the long-term use of retinoids will minimize that as much as possible. NOW.. if you have depressions in your nose that were caused from previous blemishes... then go right ahead and do the TCA CROSS method that we have demonstrated in this video. We use the 30% and a very thin pick for that process. You can find that acid here: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peel-13-20-30/
The Lion and Lioness no you do not. Tca is a self neutralizing acid. Watch this video here on neutralizing www.platinumskincare.com/neutralizing-acids-tca-hydroxy-acids/
I am still researching tca peels, and have ordered 20% Though after reading the comments, I am going to hold off on 20% and start around 13%. Tca does self neutralize, though I'm making a baking soda/water neutralizer, in case I feel like I need to stop the reaction. I think it's a good precaution for us diy ppls:)
@@tara921 No need to make that neutralizer. See this video:ruclips.net/video/j3yhHkEmO0w/видео.html You can't stop the reaction. You CAN rinse off the excess acid so that it does not penetrate and start working - but you can't stop the acid that is already in your skin. It will self neutralize in a few minutes.
@@tara921 I disagree that you don't need a neutralizer. I've done 5 peels and have tried both, NOT neutralizing vs. NEUTRALIZING. I found that splashing on baking soda water instead of plain water most certainly DOES eliminate the burning faster!!
I just bought another peel and received the luminosity and it’s different than before. It’s a yellow serum now. Did you change the formula? Just want to make sure I got the right product in the bottle. Thank you! Love your peels!!! I send my clients to you every day! 🥰🥰🥰
Yes. We had it as a cream in the past and it was very hard to get out of the tiny bottles. We updated it to be the serum (like our .10, .20 and .30) instead. Now it is easy to pump. Enjoy!
Hi! Great video ! Thank you! When should i do the peeling? Will day 1-3 will show flaking? If i peel on Wednesday, could i go to work as usual? Cause i dont want any stupid questions at work 😎
The Astrid hello. If you are going to be applying a Tca Peel, it will take about 3 days before you see any flaking at all. Generally it starts around the nose and mouth area and radiates outwards. The flaking will happen from that point on. It usually takes about 3-5 more days to be completely gone. Try to schedule this around your days off. If you have weekends off, do your peel on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening so the flaking happens mostly on the weekend. Then you are looking darn good when Monday rolls around. First some just do one layer. You will get very light manageable flaking. Next time you will be able to add more layers on.
You could have been dealing with PIH post inflammatory hyperpigmentation ... where the acid was strong and caused inflammation in the skin. Then the skin can darken - just like after a pimple inflammation. I would start using a melanin inhibitor 2x per day like the Fade Bright: www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/
I am an east asian girl who doesn’t have a dry skin. I wanted to fix my skin from a skincare product that accidentally burned my skin slightly. I wanted to use a chemical peel as I was expecting that a new skin will develop. After a few days I noticed that the TCA peel made my skin even thinner and I think the peel works better if i have a dry and thicker skin. Now, my skin lost elasticity and it looked like it developed a wrinkle even when I am still young.
Hello. TCA (no peel) is going to permanently thin your skin. Peels remove the upper layers of DEAD skin, and in turn, stimulate new collagen and elastin in the deeper layers. Your skin will be better/healthier and have MORE elasticity after peels. Now, I do not know if you are hyper-focusing... or, if you did a very strong peel and caused scarring/temporary damage? But, this should not be. Try products like Regenerate EGF or Emu oil ... to aid in stimulating new tissues. Let it heal for at least 30 days and then take another look.
Hello. We generally recommend that you wait 1 week inbetween treatments *whether that is needling or peeling. Give your skin time to heal before doing a new treatment.
Hi! I want to try your products and have watched a ton of your videos. Will the 5ml tca 13% allow me to do more than 1 layer? Thanks for making these informative videos Also, is it ok to use jojoba oil or vit e oil in place of the emu oil?
Shawny V absolutely to both. The 5ml bottle is enough to do about 4-6 peels at 1 layer. So it will just depend on how much you apply and how many layers. I can usually get 2 peels out of a bottle with 2 layers or so each time. Remember to reuse your gauze pad so you don’t have to completely rewet every time. You can use any healing oils or creams you love. No worries.
Platinum Skin Care Wow! Quick response. Ok one more question, how long would the trial size fade bright last if using as a pre and post peel treatment?
The trial size of Fade Bright might last 1 week if using 2x per day. It is basically just a size to make sure you don't have any allergies or skin irritations. Not necessarily to get results.
I am doing my research on this peel before I use it, however, I'm getting different information and opinions. I have read and watched other videos of dermatologists saying that TCA Peel is self-neutralizes. However, on your instructional video, you rinse it off with cold water. Why your TCA peel product is not self-neutralizes? Should I leave it on or wash it off when I use this peel?
The TCA peel will neutralize in about 5 minutes. We recommend rinsing because it does not do any good to leave it on your skin. You are better off applying a healing or antiaging treatment.
@@PlatinumSkinCare Do you leave it on if it's a smaller percentage. I just want to make sure I get it right. Also, can you do a body peel with just the TCA 13% for the first time or do you recommend the 20%? This is for a lot of hyperpigmentation & sun damage on the neck, chest, & arms.
@@wellness2holisticliving4u Nope, doesn't matter what percentage of TCA... go ahead and rinse after your final 5 minutes is up. You can certainly apply 3-4 layers of the TCA 13% on your body for your very first time. That is a great way to see what the acid can do. In the future, you will want to bump up to the 20% or 30% See our vide for application here: ruclips.net/video/tx-UkmxvOgI/видео.html
Aquaphor is an occlusive... so Only use that if needed. We want your skin to Breathe. :) Now, if you did several layers (3-5) and are feeling super dry and could crack .. Then you can apply some as a protectant.
If you don't want to purchase our Prep B, and you can't find 90%, then go ahead and use 70%. I do suggest that you go over your skin with it a couple of times though to fully strip the skin.
Please be sure to wait a long enough time frame. Whenever your DP says you can do another one ... that is how long you need to wait before doing ANY other peel.
The skin on your fingers is Much thicker than what is on your face. So I don't worry at all. I don't even feel it. **BUT .. I do sometimes to avoid peeling fingertips!
I am currently on Day 6 of the TCA 13% peel and everything is going well so far. However, I was surprised that the presenter in the demo did not wear gloves. I chose to follow her example and did not use gloves, which unfortunately resulted in four of my fingertips becoming rough and peeling. In all other similar videos from different companies, the estheticians are shown wearing gloves when handling the peel solution. I would suggest that this video be updated to include a mention about wearing gloves or have a pinned comment regarding this issue. Ideally, disposable nitrile gloves should be worn for chemical peels, as they provide a thick barrier. These gloves can be found online, and I recommend including a pair in the kit. Additionally, it might be helpful to add a third gauze pad to cover the first peel application (two are currently included).
@@ZZpkr-g1q I actually have the gloves here that I use for other purposes. I just assumed that the acid would eat through them. Nice to know. I plan on doing a peel tomorrow 😄
@@Connie-b2f Regular gloves should work with a maximum of a 13% peel. I bought a different company's kit last year and they sent me a pair of regular (I think) disposable gloves. Good luck!
The melanin inhibitor is part of your normal daily regimen. In a perfect world you will use this 4 weeks in advance of any peel. You can also use it immediately after ... for the first few days. When dryness starts you will discontinue. When you are all done flaking again you can start up with your normal regimen.
Love this video. You’ve covered mostly everything. I am an 50 yr old woman of Indian origin (Fitzpatrick scale 5 or 4). Currently using Retin A gel 3 times a week for around 2 yrs & also started using Dr. Rajani’s LED mask with infrared. I don’t get acnes of late (rarely may be one or two around my periods time ). I have some icepick & box scars. Planning to start using TCA 13%. I have a doubt. When can i start using Tretinoin after my peel. Can i substitute tret with luminosity? Hoping to hear back from you. TIA.
Hello. Prep is everything with your skin coloring. Be sure to use a melanin inhibitor like our Fade Bright or Hydroquinone ... for 4 weeks prior to your peel. 13 is a fine percentage. 1 or 2 layers maximum the first time. LED after peel is fine. NO tretinoin (which is an acid) after the peel. Other retinoids are OK. When your skin is completed with flaking you can go back to your Normal regimen. :) NO tretinoin instead of Luminosity. It is acid. Keep in mind that LM is NOT mandatory. Just a booster. You do not "need" to use it.
We always want to be applying healing, soothing products after rinsing off a peel. BUT ... if you have things you are working on .. like hyperpigmentation... Then applying the Fade Bright until the flaking starts should be just fine! Then apply your soothing things after. I would skip the Vitamin C though until your skin is 100% done flaking. It is an irritant for sure. The same with tretinoin and other topical acids.
Thank you, your videos are so informative. I feel confident that I can do this. I'm going to order from you soon. I have been using Ambi Fade Cream for 2 weeks and will continue until I receive my products from you. Is that a pre peel cream you would recommend?
As long as it has hydroquinone or alpha arbutin in it, it should be fine. If not, our Fade Bright is excellent for that. www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/
I put tca 30 percent at the back of my knee for 2 minutes then neutralize with water to lighten my dark spots but it was so itchy and it became more darker.
Did you pre treat for 2 weeks with Fade Bright? It is common for the area to darken prior to peeling. Keep the skin moisturized with Emu Oil or our Healing Oil. If you have Fade Bright, start using that one time per day on the dark area.
Can you leave TCA PEEL on? I think I heard that you can leave it on instead of washing because it neutralizes on its own. Is that true or not. Just curious : )
TCA will self-neutralize in about 5 minutes. ... Apply ... last layer is done? ... then just rinse and then apply treatments that are good for your skin and some hydration/oils. No need to leave that on if it isn't doing anything. Could you? Certainly ... but, why? It is better to apply things that will further this treatment instead. :) ... NOW ... if this was a Jessners peel ... or, Jessners + TCA .. then you would leave it on as Jessners stays on for at least 4 hours.
Oh yes. TCA can cause a light stinging ... to more "hot peppers" feeling as the layers are increased. Wait a few minutes longer for it to subside if you need. That is ok. Also numbing cream prior is also great. AND .. be sure to STOP retinoid and stronger leave-on acid serum usage for 4-6 days prior to application.
@@PlatinumSkinCare Thank you for replying. I use .3% adapolene gel (Differen) every evening. Would that be considered a retinoid? If so, how soon after doing the peel can I start using it again? Thanks again!
Yes it is. Be sure to stop that 4-6 days prior to applying your TCA peel. If you are using that Too Close to peel day ... you will experience Much more irritation and will be prone to a deeper peel than you anticipated. @@smashley8365
Retinoids and acids will always fade brow treatments. ... but, to get rid of all - you will need to get a laser performed. The PicoSure is the one for removing tattoos. Treatment takes a few seconds (OUCH! ... and it bleaches your brows until they grow out again ... ask me HOW I know this .. LOL ....) ... and then about 4-6 weeks for all of the coloring to be absorbed by the body. It may take more than 1 treatment.

How many layers did you do for 20% TCA?
@@daimos6686 “3 passes” aka “layers”
Thank you so much!!! Love that you can go back to them again and again and learn more. More to come!!!
Before you apply your peel. What did you prep your face with 2 weeks prior to your first chemical peel?

Learn about peeling on ethnic/medium skin tones here; ruclips.net/video/oCkWVuF79Ys/видео.html Also... learn about PIH and what happens when you do not prep properly here: ruclips.net/video/-BbBMrQwmT0/видео.html You can also learn which products to treat this.

Hello, I will like to buy the TCA 20% and dilute some down to 15%, how do I go about this?
You would do 3 parts 20% TCA + 1 part water to get a 15% TCA.
Important things to do are:

See here: www.platinumskincare.com/serum-15-serum-30-glycolic-mandelic-phytic-c/
www.platinumskincare.com/copper-super-cp-serum/
TCA works no matter if you have oily or dry skin. :)
Hey there any updates on your eye bags? my eye bags (tired eyes) also seem to have gotten worse after the peel.
You are an absolute legend. Thank you for what you do. ❤
I appreciate that!!! :)
Call I apply salicylic acid after the peel. Is a 2% BHA liquid exfoliant. I apply this every day as part as my morning face routine.
Hello. No, you will want to stop using any leave-on acids until your skin has completed the peeling process. Use only healing products and SPF.
You might take a break - or do another series with a different acid or percentage.
i am in pain as i am watching this vid, this TCA is real
For sure!
Hi, Jen. I LOVE your educational videos! If I've worked up to 5 layers of the 7% TCA peel around the eyes, is it okay to move up to the 13%?
Loretta Peters Martin yes absolutely. That would be the perfect opportunity to do so. Remember to keep your peeling to 1x per month on the eye area. :)
Thank you! @@PlatinumSkinCare
Loretta Peters Martin you are very welcome.
I absolutely loved this! Thank you. But you didn’t reply any neutralizer. Is that because you want the TCA to keep working?

Was just about to ask this!

Great video. Will this treatment help with Actinic Keratosis? Thanks!
Yes, indeed. This is a common at-home treatment for that. Make sure to get it checked out by a doctor first to rule out any issues.
Thank you! I just used your TCA 13% for the first time (two layers). You mention using Luminosity to speed up peeling. Can I use a tretinoin cream instead (I already have one)
Thank you
The only issue with tretinoin is that it is acid.
Britt Nilsen Angell I would only use a retinol after a Tca peel.
I also have my own retinol product presently. It's SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5%. Can I use that in place of the Luminosity step?
Hello, how was the tca 13%? I would like to try but i still not sure..
Watch: www.platinumskincare.com/mixing-different-treatments-peels-needling-ipl-lasers-microdermabrasions/
@@PlatinumSkinCare yes ofc Id never do both of thes in the same month unless it was only nano needling. Thank you SO much! That is our goal for sure.
Luminosity can be used for the first 3-4 days to get the skin peeling more aggressively - and to speed it up 1-2 days for some.
Emu Oil or a Healing Oil is a must....also a sunscreen if you are out and about.
Thank you for a great informative video. I'm sorry if you've already answered this and somehow I've missed it, but does the TCA peel also help firm up skin ie by building Collagen like retain-a does? Thanks in advance xx
Yes, indeed it does!! Proven in studies.
@@PlatinumSkinCare I have a question, if I were to buy the 30% Would that work as a Tca cross or would it still be a peel

I really like your videos. I watch them all the time.its very informative and detailed but all your videos is about tca peel is body peel, face peel and hand peel. I was looking for a video of tca peel on feet but couldn’t find one.
Ah yes. I don't have one -- as of yet. You can certainly do that though. You can also see some photos of our customer that HAVE done this on our TCA page. www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peel-13-20-30/
For African American skin, how far apart should I separate a 30% tca peel ( cross method) for pitted acne scars, and a 13% peel (for my entire)? I would like to treat my scars first, then do an overall application I'm just not sure how far I should wait between treatments. Thanks for the helpful video!
mixdbeautea you will only do the cross one time every 5 weeks. For the face peel at 13%, you can do that 1-2x per month. It depends on how many layers.
Make sure to pre treat with Fade Bright for 2 weeks. www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/
Dream Peel is applied 1x only.
Luminosity can be used 1x per day UNTIL the flaking starts. Then stop use. Here is the manual online: www.platinumskincare.com/peel-directions/
So I’m dark should I use the 20% or 30% for my body? And how do I use it? Do I mix it in with liquid soap ?
Nessa Nessa I suggest prepping with Fade Bright or another melanin inhibitor for 2 weeks. Then the 20% would be best for you to start off with. Try about 2 layers.
You will wash.
Prep with alcohol.
Apply peel.
Wait 5 minutes.
Then apply a second layer OR, rinse everything off.
Then you can do that 1x per month.
Thank you for the information. What should you not apply after a TCA peel? Is Hyaluronic acid or mandelic serum okay?
Hello. You do not want to apply acids after a peel. ***Hyaluronic "acid" is different. It is not irritating. Your mandelic serum or retinA... any other hydroxy acids .. they are all no-no's.
Jennifer in your older videos you look really dark skinned. Did you used to sunbathe a lot and decided to stop because of the aging effects?
Hi there. No, I always have a terrible time tanning. LOL. It was probably summer and I had some tanning cream on my face to give myself some color. I also like to add a bronzer to my face daily so I am not so pale.
thanks for the info. Im going to start the 20% TCA...excellent presentation...
Hi Jennifer! I noticed you said for men not to shave before doing a TCA peel.. Is it safe to dermaplane berfore a TCA peel or should that be avoided?
Armani don’t shave or dermaplane immediately prior to a peel. Wait 24 hours. Both methods are removing skin and we don’t want to exfoliate immediately prior to any peel.
@@PlatinumSkinCare gotcha! Ty! another question. With the luminosity syringe can you explain that to me again. you can apply directly after TCA correct? Do you continue applying it each day until syringe is empty?
Acid cleanser, Melanin inhibitor (especially i you are Fitzpatrick 4+), Retinoid and SPF 50
The darker your skin ... the longer the prep ... and the lower the % of acid.
Hey, did you noticed results by now?
@@eryana1492I was wondering the same thing..
See this video on that: www.platinumskincare.com/what-can-i-do-to-shrink-my-pores-1/
*Keep in mind that your pores WILL get larger as you age. ... so the long-term use of retinoids will minimize that as much as possible. NOW.. if you have depressions in your nose that were caused from previous blemishes... then go right ahead and do the TCA CROSS method that we have demonstrated in this video. We use the 30% and a very thin pick for that process. You can find that acid here: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peel-13-20-30/
Thank you so much for answering!!❤️ Did you wash it off with water without neutralization after peeling it in the video?
@@user-ew9dy1ch8q TCA is self-neutralizing. Once it coagulates the skin's proteins the TCA is neutral. Just rinsing with cold water to soothe.
Do we need to use a neutralizer with a tca peel?
The Lion and Lioness no you do not. Tca is a self neutralizing acid. Watch this video here on neutralizing www.platinumskincare.com/neutralizing-acids-tca-hydroxy-acids/
I am still researching tca peels, and have ordered 20% Though after reading the comments, I am going to hold off on 20% and start around 13%. @@tara921 No need to make that neutralizer. See this video:ruclips.net/video/j3yhHkEmO0w/видео.html
You can't stop the reaction.

Shawny V absolutely to both. The 5ml bottle is enough to do about 4-6 peels at 1 layer. So it will just depend on how much you apply and how many layers.

I had the same thing happen with my fingers. Did the acid eat through the gloves?
@ Nitrile gloves are used by professionals to avoid this issue. I ordered mine from Amazon for the next peel. My fingers are fine now on day 9. :)
Good luck!
how long after the peeling do we have to use a melanin inhibitor? You've said two weeks prior
NO tretinoin instead of Luminosity. It is acid. Keep in mind that LM is NOT mandatory. Just a booster. You do not "need" to use it.
Thanks for this informative video!
Is it okay to do a TCA peel while taking Diane-35 pills?
Hello. I do not know what those are. I am sorry. Please see your doctor if you think there is a contraindication.
On the days following the peel, do I continue using Fade Bright morning and night? What about vitamin C?
What can I use as a prep solution apart from platinum product? Is it mandatory to prep the skin?
Hello. As we state in our Manual and in all of the videos ... 90% alcohol (or higher) or Pure Acetone will also work perfectly. :)
Hi! where and how are you supposed to store the bottle after opening it? thanks.
Store in a cool dark cabinet or drawer for best results. The peel is good for 2 years from the date of purchase.
I love your video so much❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍
I am so happy it was helpful for you ! Thank you for your wonderful comment. xoxo
@@PlatinumSkinCare thanks, I'll buy fade bright then
This is a brilliant video, thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely love this peel!! Just curious though, is it normal for it to burn once putting it on your face?
Do you have a product that lightens or removes residual eyebrow microblading?
Retinoids and acids will always fade brow treatments. ... but, to get rid of all - you will need to get a laser performed. The PicoSure is the one for removing tattoos. Treatment takes a few seconds (OUCH! ... and it bleaches your brows until they grow out again ... ask me HOW I know this .. LOL ....) ... and then about 4-6 weeks for all of the coloring to be absorbed by the body. It may take more than 1 treatment.
Hello Jennifer ! Awsome video. I almost watched all you videos, so informative and educational. But I am not sure about the frosting though. I have already done. 10% just one layer a couple of weeks ago, and I want to try with more layers but I didn’t really understand if I have to apply the other layers only on the skin with no frosting or all over the face and neck?
Thanks a lot for this video and stay safe
Yes, you will only apply additional layers of peel over unfrosted areas if you have a partial frost.
Platinum Skin Care
Oh thank you so much for the quick answer. So if all my face frosts I can’t go with another layer ?
Hi. Very informative video. Thankyou! Can I use retinol 1% by drunkelephant from Sephora right after tca application ? And can I use coconut oil during flaking days ? Tia
Certainly. Use what you wish.
Thanks for replying
