i love this but just a tip dont spawn stuff that they can see a rule i set is nothing gets changed within 200 meters

Something seems wrong about that. It just seems silly to "spawn" in fixed emplacements like that. No amount of proactive scouting can pick up an ambush if it is being teleported in like that.
Just kind of ruins the fun for me.
this entire mission seems way too off putting lmao, this guy is just a bad zues. "No CAS", a massive first engagement, none of it seems fun.
The first emplacements that he moved forward from the forest were fair. We have seen it happen in a SWTCW episode so why not here?
It's neat to see a mission from this point of view.
The amount of other enemies being spawned in places they already cleared is shocking... they shot up a whole section of forest and a guy was looking at the place and then like 10 droids just spawned in and he was like WTF?!?!?
and then talk down Air support when you do stuff like that ?
your comment of "I said no CAS, they took out a whole squad. That wasn't fun." is a downgrade on your zeusing as well as teleporting stuff in. Being a Zeus comes with giving up a certain freedom of how the game works and you can't expect the players to do the mission 100% how you planned it. My first rule for being a Zeus is *Your job is to create good missions and let the players have fun*. That is not to say that the Zeus isn't allowed to have fun but they should have fun from creating fun, immersive missions. You should get joy from the players having fun.
Yeah, terrible Zeus. Making things harder doesn't make it more fun. Update directives, Spawn things out of sight, and be more communicable to the guys on the ground. Throw them curve balls, don't just randomly spawn an extra 2 squads because it's "too easy".
Also, might help to sound like an actual strategist. "Follow the roads" even on patrol is like the #1 don't in the military. Ambush in the woods (where you can't see as well) is much more intense than out in the open because you told them to go there.
Seeing the ambush on the road reminded me of the ambush on the road to the main capital in Star Wars The Clone Wars
you spawned and teleported things way too close to the players and in direct line of sight. a lot of them saw you do that I guarantee.

No, I think he left because you're a bad Zeus. You spawn things, then teleport them in - even though other units can see it. No amount of scouting or preparation will work if you don't play by the rules, dude.
Being a Zeus doesn't mean you kill the playerbase. Sure, kill them if they start being toxic. But if they've just started a mission, it's the first ambush, and the 1st squad goes down? Somethings wrong with the way you Zeus.
Liru is a decent Zeus who takes constructive criticism to heart. He learns over time how to be better at the game, and it's his job to make fun missions for /everyone/ (viewer, player, zeus).

It would have been fine if you spawned things out of LOS and moved them in, but spawning them in a place they can SEE is clear and calling it an "ambush" is not being a very good Zeus. Honestly I wouldn't have cared if no CAS was authorized, you magically teleported droids into effective firing range.
Learn how to use tactics with the units rather than making something artificially hard because impossible things are being done by the one running the mission. I was hoping to enjoy this but the way you ran it seemed like you had a bone to pick.
You got to competative for a good Zeus, and should have walked units up or already had them out would have played out 100% differently.

Well Modern day earth would stand a good chance if we were going to play a land war like they oh so love in Star Wars. They have inferior tactics more than anything, and their droids believe it or not are finite. So.. Would be pyhric for them at best.

How does CAS ruin the fun? I'm certain the clone pilots gave CAS often. Seems like CAS isn't fun for Zeus

i think that if you had wanted to make it a fitting ambush site you should have added a knocked out saber.
Also, some injuries on them (as far as I have watched he hasn't)

The war has come to you
This video will be a nice thing to show new aspiring Zeus' on what you should never do as a Zeus. Huge mistakes were made on Zeus' part from the way units were placed and how his attitude was during the entire thing.
As many pointed out, going through the most open area possible is a massive mistake and would never be encouraged outside extremely braindead commanders. This is first example of a bad Zeus.
Next up the biggest joke, spawning stuff pretty much right on top of the players shows perfectly how a bad Zeus handles things. Instead of planning things out, having reinforcement set ahead of time, having everything set to be done via scripted triggers or just wait for the "logical" moment for them to trigger and come in. This is why I love the Zeus' in my unit, they have everything placed down either beforehand or they went through the effort of placing down scripts that spawn units in when certain events happen, such as an enemy gets engaged and the SL stays up too long, thus triggering a reinforcement wave to come in to their location or an alert go up and the outposts in the area gets fortified.
No amount of recon could prepare the players for what was pulled in this. Ambush only works and SHOULD WORK if it isn't spotted. You can't spot something that isn't there until everyone is in position. The worst thing was the fortifications, that was just the cherry on top and signifies just how bad this Zeus is. How can you explain in "immersion" that the CIS forces suddenly "ambushed" with fortifications? Cloaking technology??
Then you deny CAS when thing is clearly going from bad to worse. Again, another perfect example of a braindead commander from the immersion's point of view and extremely bad Zeus, especially after the CAS had hit. "I hate it when LAAT pilots do CAS, makes things too easy for everyone." No it doesn't, it makes it BALANCED when you suddenly start dropping people on top of the players and actively look into their firing arcs, then spawn in another squad from their blindspot, drop it almost next to them and then wait until there is another blindspot to do it again. If your objective as a Zeus is to actively try to kill the players, you should avoid Zeusing as much as possible.
I was waiting for him to spawn in a random dude from behind, take control and start sniping people "because it was getting too easy for the players". That would have been the last thing needed to make this video the ultimate "This is what you should never do as a Zeus."
This video serves as a perfect example why a good unit should always curate and set certain standards for their Zeus'. If someone is on the edge on should they buy ARMA and join a unit and they see this, I don't think many will go, "Heck yeah! This looks awesome! I want to be in that ground team!"
Wow what a long comment! However I do disagree with a lot of what you said, I have learned a lot since this operation! Hopefully you watch newer Zeus videos like the death star prison break and/or the 501st Mogadishu Mile

Twinkle Toes I think it's to have them be stationery, I think the AI like to wonder around a lot so doing that just keeps them in place to hold the position.

Say, you guys still doing any OpTre missions? If so, I might be interested in give you guys a whirl. I've admittedly not done anything like what you all do before, but I'd be willing to give it a go for a group that actually plays OpTre. The Star Wars stuff is interesting to watch on occasion, but I don't really see myself enjoying playing it since I basically have no idea what any of this stuff is. (Part of the reason I quit playing ArmA 3 was b/c all the coop servers I connected to have OpTre banned for some reason. Even had a mod on one really fuck with me and then ban me from one after I'd been using OpTre gear for like a month or two without issue. I don't understand what everyone's beef with OpTre is, esp. when I was only ever going out with a suppressed MA5B, some nades, and a suppressed M7 as a sidearm and vs only bots after all anyways.)
