Hi Roman!! 😊First of all I want to say how grateful I am for your channel (which I am now subscribed to) and how impressive your work and image quality is, especially everything you get out of the canon C70, which I am looking to buy. So, congratulations on your talent and all your skills and thank you for sharing all the tips and advice which is very much appreciated. I would really like to know, if you don’t mind sharing with me, what lenses you were using when explaining the auto focus segment, in both 24p and slow motion. Because I love how that looks. At minute 7:03, on the screen of the C70, I can see that it says 25mm at F1.2, but then from minute 7:27 on, when you are explaining the autofocus in Slow Motion, I don’t see anything to identify which lens you might be using there. Anyways, I love how the image looks that you created, especially during that segment and the normal speed motion and the girl on the beach by the tree, and then how it looks in slow motion. So, I would be so grateful if you wouldn’t mind sharing with me what exact lens or lenses you were using for those autofocus explanation shots. Because it looks really really nice, how I like things to look, and I would really appreciate knowing. Well, I guess that is all for now. Thank you Roman so very much for your time and I do really hope you can answer my question. Hope to hear back from you soon which will really help me in making my decision on which lenses to get. Looking forward to more of your great videos. Take care and God bless !! 😊🙏 >>> Sincerely, - CALEB -
Thank you very much for such kind words. With the C80 out, C70 now is even better camera for such a good price. I actually prefer the soft look of the C70 over the C80, so I will not be upgrading. At 7:03 I'm using sigma 35 1.4 EF with canon speed booster at 1.0 (1.4 becomes 1.0 with the speed booster. At 7:27 its 16-35 canon ef mount at 2.8. Cheers!
@@Roman.the.explorer Oh Awesome!!! 😊🙏Thank you so very much for the info and for the prompt reply. Very much appreciated!! That really helps me in my lens decision. And yes, I totally agree about the C70 over the C80. I have been watching every single video I can find of footage and reviews of the C80 and those have been my thoughts exactly. Not liking the sharper image and not looking as nice/filmic as the C70. Probably most of all because of the C80 not having the DJO sensor. So, I am really aiming for the C70 too. Thanks again for everything Roman. Take Care and God Bless You!! 😊
Good video - I came from a C100 M2 so obviously a big improvement on many levels. Can't live without built in ND's! Because I came from super 35 sensor I wasn't expecting it to be a low-light champ but still respectable. I was already prepared for the crop factor. Decent autofocus with the firmware update. I personally don't like the build quality and the screen deserves the criticism it gets because it's critical to the camera. Most cine cams don't come with a EVF now, but I REALLY wish Canon at least had a option of a EVF - very hard to use outside. I'm currently using a DIY EVF that I made around a Portakeys monitor. The camera has met my expectation and for my documentary work it's great overall- good battery life too.
I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for your insightful camera review. Your detailed analysis and hands-on experience were incredibly helpful in guiding my decision. Keep up the fantastic work!
Keep in mind you don't really need to be good at colour grading to take advantage of clog2. Just use colour management in Resolve and Resolve will normalize the footage from the log footage and you can just adjust exposure from there.
Great review!! Question : would you go with the c70 when you shoot an independent movie? (also audio, wireless in camera?) Thanks for the answer!! Nicolaas
I've seen very eye opening videos on WDR compared to the RAW and Clog formats. Wide DR is a really competent and worthy file. Coming from very well respected colorists. I've been using Clog3 a little bit because I shoot with C70's and R5c. They play together well.
Hm, very interesting! I need to test that. I have been using log 2 first because of the DR but its much harder to grade. Log3 on the other side (coming from the R5 experience as a B cam) is much easier to work with and I usually get a more pleasing image.
One note: You say “the ef to RF adapter gives you an extra stop of light”. You meant to say: “the ef to RF speed booster gives you an extra stop of light” The adapter and the speed booster function differently. Other than that, nice work!
I'd love to get RAW over HDMI with this camera, but I love every other aspect, esp with the recent firmware improving its AF. I've had some other issues related to how it plays with my Ninja V but those are probably user error...
It gives a "film" look so that depends if you will like it in wildlife filmmaking, you might prefer something more sharp and better AF such as R5 or A7S3/FX3
Thank you for your review. The Tilta top plate is very interesting being so minimal. My only concern is its single point of mount. Is there any ‘’play’’ or is it solid?
Yours is not the fixed hinge version then if it does what you showed it do.. that floppy motion. I have the 2nd gen one where it came fixed and it's rock solid. It's not as tight as the mirrorless bodies but I wouldn't say it's fragile and it doesn't move back n forth like yours.
Hey! So I posted a review about r6m2 the other day as well and honestly I have missed feelings about it. It works good as a bcam, but I'd rather use R5. And shoot them both clog3
@@Roman.the.explorer I keep hearing rumor of a C200 MkII coming this year which would be a C70 in that body style. I keep hoping its true. I see many guy selling their c70 as most clients demand sony gear. Canon cinema cameras on their path don it seem. Sony is taking over. Better eco system, full frame and and and.
Thanks for the comment! I'm in the industry over 3 years and I have never been told by a client which camera I should use. They tell me, "we want a video like you did for Mercedes" that's about it lol

The C70 can be used on big projects which is why its Netflix approved with the R5C
