I love the magical lady who tells people they can park anywhere. It is always important to ask the correct question of the correct person. It reminds me of a scene in the Pink Panther where Clouseau sees a cute dog in the hotel lobby: Clouseau (to clerk): Does your dog bite? Clerk: No Clouseau proceeds to pet the dog and gets bit. Some friends of mine just got back from Gatlinburg and called me to say thanks for the warning. I told them about your videos and to be sure to pay to park when they are there. A hotel employee told them they could park in any of the numbered spots in town but thankfully they didn't!

Gatlingburg sounds like a very nice spot....40 years ago. Since then it has gone the way of so many "over-touristed" destinations. That is when local authorities have bowed to any and all investors/developers to build tourist facilities and given them a free pass on providing adequate space on their land to handle all the vehicles that these new developments would generate. Happens all the time...all over. Sure is good for tow truck operators that's for sure. Reminds me a Yogi Berra quote: "It's so busy, nobody goes there anymore"

What a wonderful family that one was! Kids just like the parents. The magic person told me it was ok. When I come there this summer if any one asks if it is ok to park there I'll tell them if you want to meet the nicest tow family of Jeff and Kristen from Everything Auto go ahead and roll the dice but you won't like their prices. It will be cheaper to just go and pay the attendant down the block!
It amazes me how many say "I wasn't parked there for very long." Time is not the issue, permission is.
