Synopsis: HISTORY’s hit drama series “Vikings” returns for its sixth and final season with a highly anticipated and powerful two-hour premiere kicking off Wednesday, December 4 at 9 PM ET/PT. After years of turmoil and tragedy, the series reaches its biggest climax yet with the Vikings traveling to never-before-seen locations thousands of miles from Kattegat, meeting vicious rivals worthy of their strategic combat and finally facing the consequences of Ragnar’s death. The Seer’s visions come to fruition as the final season answers important life-altering questions while making it clear, the war is far from over.
The 20-episode sixth season will air in two parts, beginning with a two-hour premiere on Wednesday, December 4 at 9PM ET/PT followed by eight episodes airing every Wednesday at 9PM ET/PT on HISTORY. The remaining ten episodes of season six are slated to air in 2020. Additionally, series regular Katheryn Winnick is set to helm one episode in season six, marking her directorial debut.

As a Scandinavian, you have no idea how close to home this hits... 🤣
Scandinavia has done about as much infighting since the Viking age as outwards expansion - of which all has been lost, due to infighting or quarreling, specifically between Denmark/Denmark-Norway and Sweden, of which both sides were among the top "superpowers" of their time.
Or rather, brothers picking opposite sides in huge wars and then becoming greedy and vengeful and not letting things go for hundreds of years and also rather going against brothers and leaving other borders instead of the other way around.
Edit: One can only wonder what would had happened if the Scandinavian union would had happened as it was supposed to - under the Norwegian king, of which all countries were in agreement of beforehand - instead of the Norwegian losing all his heirs and passing the inheritance to his wife... which was Danish and which is mostly why Sweden inevitably receded from it, starting the "schism" .
To be fair, Ragnar married Lagertha when she was only 5.

This show is about vikings sailing and discovering England, ragnars dream to find land for his people, were finally at that stage with the heathen army settling in York ect and there's much more things that follow in history, and there following this rediculous script, brother fued and a army of reus coming over to invade Scandinavia of all places? It's like they can't be assed with the story anymore and just want to create a massive ending battle
Should be invasion of England I’m so pissed about that, this is so important I’ve been waiting for it for ages. Now it’s the fucken Rus? The most boring of all Vikings. After England then Ireland but sadly will be another Hollywood let’s add bullshit to ruin another great series like GOT.

I love vikings. Got better after ragnar. At first I thought it was gunna suck like when the walking dead "killed" rick ( and carl.) But I was wrong. Vikings did it right. Twd did not.

in this series, I don't know is it the real history or not,but if it's a true history, I don't like or respect the guy king Harald...This guy not deserve to be king of all Norway, he's the coward, the cheating guy to be a king...while Bjorn still alive, in the election, he's used dirty politics to make agreements with the other king to let them vote for him,he's cheating Bjorn and everyone by his dirty work..even not just that,when he's became Oleg King prisoner, Bjorn came to rescue and set him free,but after right that he's betray Bjorn right the way in the election...After losing the battle against the Rus,once again, he's been Rus prisoner, Bjorn was brave and famous enough to call all the Norway people come together, against and defeated the Rus,even Bjorn using his last breath to help Norway army defeat the biggest &strong Rus Army...At the same time,to save himself, king Harald coward accepted some conditions with the Rus,let the Rus set him free again, and kill king Olef,burning him alive....Then after Bjorn death, his wife's and his people want to open the election to get new ruler for his people, then the coward king Harald take advantage of Bjorn death, atack from the back and show off his power,want to rule over Bjorn's people...what's kind of the guy Harald, how the hell an coward, betray,and always atack friends from the back can became king of all Norway?I have no respect for the man king Harald
