You know what every passage of this concerto tickles the corner of a pianist's mind that's about their intimate relationship with their piano, fingers and the piano itself. I can't explain how exactly it does, but it's just there that lights up the tip of the right side of your brain like a bulb, and it makes you remember the time you practice Chopin and Schumann concertos but with a new melody, and that's how it gives comfort to us pianists, and that's why I need to learn it, even tho I know there will never be a day I get to perform it with an orchestra, but I just have to.

True, but not by this piano artist and definitely not this orchestra.
Neither of these artists have cohesion going for them. The pianist is off key quite often. Yikes.

What a magnificent concert, what sensibility, what lyricism, what harmony, what grace. Clara Schumann fully incorporated the characteristic spirit of the Romantic period.
The pianist is exceptional in sensibility, taking from the piano an amazing sound. The orchestra and direction are fantastic.

Actually when she wrote this concerto she wasn't Clara Schumann, but fräulein Wieck, a 16 year old teenager. Unfortunately she had to marry, take on family chores and live in the shadow of her husband. But her music proves how gifted she was. Many thanks for making her young again.🙏

In 19th a pianist like Frau Clara is most overrated than a composer. He just a great renown composer 'cause her recitals. For some times, he have been known the pianist husband.

she didn't have to marry -- she chose to marry and fought against her father for years so she *could* marry schumann. she was overshadowed by her husband only in composing, as most of her career was spent performing
she only picked up composition again shortly before her husband's death, but went back to performance shortly afterward

This Clara Schumann concerto is extraordinary. A sixteen year young woman who was evidently gifted with a notable musical muse. The level of inspiration is sustained and expansive throughout. She conceived and ignited a worthy idea ; fleshing it out with gracious talent and fragrant emotional content. The cello duet is especially soulful. The polonaise dances and sways with dashing color and splash. Perhaps she was prescient of the effect of her future husband’s compositions? You never know how things will turn out? PWG
