Well she has never been overconfident about her chances. She has repeatedly said that she's scared of the marathon, that she's crazy for attempting these 3 distances in one week. But I think that's a good thing, I don't think you should go into a marathon cocky and expecting gold. Very humble, exceptional runner!

@Strongand and you are? Sifan is a wonderful person who inspires thousands of Dutch people, she gives them joy and unites the sports lovers of our country. Even though she’s not born and raised here, she came to the Netherlands a decade ago. She didn’t take anything, she only gave. I know you can’t choose whatever nationality you like just because of how nice a person is, but you can make a connection with people which eventually can result in a home. Sifan herself said ‘this medal is for everybody in the Netherlands’, dude chills down my spine, we are with her.
Sorry for the probably overreaction but I just want to say to you that there is perspective.
And I had tears in my eyes when she finished the Marathon this morning. I wish her the world and the Dutch respect the hell out of Sifan. She is a superstar 🧡

To realize this was only the 4th competitive marathon she ran in her life, of which she has won 3, including the first she ever did in London just over a year ago.
She also ran it in an Olympic record and becoming the 1st female athlete to win a medal in the 5k, 10k and marathon in a single event. And only the 2nd athlete to do so after the legendary Emile Zátopek won all 3 distances 72 years ago.
In Tokyo Hassan became a superstar... in Paris she became a legend!

“The phrase "It couldn’t have happened to a nicer person" is often used sarcastically. It’s a way of saying that someone deserved the misfortune or trouble that came their way, usually because they were perceived as being unkind or unpleasant. However, in a sincere context, it might be used to express genuine happiness for someone when something good happens to them. The meaning really depends on the tone and context in which it’s said.”
      Voorbeeld:
