  • You heard me right, this is a whole meal you can cook in the dishwasher! No, we didn't go crazy - yes it might sound absurd, but what do you have to loose? Now there are some important food safety tips and tricks to getting this right - the most important being to have sealable glass jars so you don't get any soap in your food, so be sure to check this out before you start throwing your dinner in the dishwasher.

    Why are most of the comments hate comments on this channel. To all the people saying she is lazy, she clearly stated she was testing if it would work or not. To all the people saying its disgusting. You can choose not to put any soap in and take out the dirty dishes, or you can try the sous vid method in your BATHTUB.

      Lau ra the Israeli couscous is really different. Its texture is different from the regular couscous you would get, but well done if you cook it right. I like to mix it with some salads, like a Greek theme with an olive oil lemon dressing.

    After reading the comments, and watching the video. I really want to try it.
    Think og it this way. As long as the water doesn't get inside of the container, it's actually a very innovative way to cook your meal. And it saves water, and power... so it's much more eco friendly. Than to use plenty of water to boil it, use the stove to heat it, use multiple pots to have the different types of food in. And you get to wash the rest of your dishes at the same time?

  • @Gia-se2wx
    @Gia-se2wx 8 лет назад +4

    To the people saying this is disgusting what exactly is gross about it, it is simply food being cooked in heated conditions. The dirty food and what not from the other dishes is kept away because of the airtight container, so stop being rude and keep and open mind.

    Many thanks for great video:
    Are there any types of food that are better suited to be cooked at temperatures between 50-70°C, which is the normal working temperature of a dishwasher?
    By 'better suited,' I mean foods that will retain their quality and taste for a longer duration.
    In the dishwasher, the cooking process involves a mixture of steam and hot water from the spray arms, which is different from cooking in pots on a stove.
    Maybe cooking with these temperature help reducing food waste for some type of food?
    🤔

Just make sure you tighten the lid as tight as you can, and don't use the 2 piece mason jar lid, use the one piece lid. But if you still don't want to do it in the dishwasher, you can do the microwave, just remember to take of the lid :)

    i have doen the salmon in the dishwaher, but an empty one and cleaned it before using for cooking, works for a whole salmon, my cycle is about 45mins would disintegrate that couscous that looks more like tapioca to me and the beand and fruit, but i like the idea a lot for people wo don;t have steamers or steambaskets

    You mention that cooking in foil sounds a little "iffy" to you, yet this is how Bob Blumer, the guy who put cooking in the dishwasher on the map did it on his show "The Surreal Gourmet" back in 2005! Way ahead of his time.
