So right about that. I can't really explain with words what I would give to have just had one conversation with Norm, in person, either hangin' out at his house or on whatever version of talk-show (I'm not famous so that one doesn't really work, but, regardless...), or anything really. They say to never meet your heroes, because you'll be disappointed is the implication, & that's true with most of my childhood/adolescent heroes (Maynard Keenan, Fat Mike, basically lots of musicians & actors), but I also liked Norm as a kid in the 90's, but I didn't start to recognize his talent for what it was until around 2015/2016. Anyway, I just don't believe I would regret having met him, & that's a rare thing. Thanks Norm.
he looks pretty healthy and normal in this clip, but if you go watch his later podcasts after you know about the cancer its a little sad, you can really see how it prematurely aged him quicker, he got much greyer hair pretty quickly and he was really bloated and retaining water in his body, you could really see it in his face.

Tom Green has always got the most honest version of Norm - everytime since like 2007. I think Howard Stern always failed to get Norm vulnerable because Norm wasn't as comfortable there but with Tom something special happens
Yeah I see comments here criticizing Tom for not gut laughing at every word out of Norms mouth... But that's why this is so good. They're peers more than interviewer and interviewed. Norm has a free a loose energy about him that you didn't get in a lot of 'main stream's formats. Great stuff.
"Yeah, I'm against OJ for committing double murder. I'm not against him for having brain cancer." I think Norm is the most human a human being can possibly be. He sees the nastiness on both sides and makes light of it somehow.
I was 13 yrs old when I first found Tom Green and laughed so hard I cried.. I'm 40 this yr and full circle I laughed hard and listening to Norm got a lump in my throat and my eyes are acting funny... I'm sincerely grateful Tom, you had Norm on the show . And so glad I grew up in a time when I was able to experience a pretty well rounded catalog of Norm's stuff.. 😁💙😭
These are two of the most genuine comedians you can find. Today's comedy culture doesn't deserve either of them. Keep up the good work Tom and RIP Norm.
It's because he's built a rep as a comedian who literally doesn't give a fuck. He'll bomb on purpose. One of the most unique minds in pop culture of our time. Do not overlook Norm, he's a real genuis.
I saw it was a video with norm in there and just assumed there’d be intermingled clips of that shirt lady wearing an assortment of norm merchandise in different posses and backgrounds.
This man was and still is my hero, rolemodel, and one time email correspondence buddy. I told him on his official myspace that his sitcom was being uploaded in 8 min videos on youtube back in 2009 and that he might think about putting it on DVD. He thanked me and said he was sorry I was "going to go spend some time in the gray bar hotel", as I was due up in just a few days for a pretty goos bid in jail. When I was released almost a year later, I saw his sitcom on dvd by an official distribution company and will always wonder if I was part of the catalyst to that. Ill always love his delivery, and cannot help but mirror his deadpan style and cadence in common conversation in daily life. Thanks for everything Norm.
What an absolute PLEASURE this was to watch. Tom has matured into a very good interviewer and God Bless Norm..every interview Nd appearance is now commedic gospel and hearing about his real life is fascinating.
These two gentleman bandits have elegantly stolen the show since I first discovered them in the 90's. The legends finally come together and the Swedish is no longer lonely. And my bum is on the edge of my seat.
Norm speaking on thoughts of death here and in all his appearances over the last decade has a much deeper impact watching them now. What a brave man. R.I.P. Norm. Thank you for your humorous sensibility.❤️🇨🇦
Toms stutters a little bit and he's uncomfortable, but he did a great job on follow-up, staying on track and digging in on really interesting questions. You can tell he's not just interviewing Norm but genuinely trying to learn from him. Rip Norm by the way. Crazy how Tom honed in on Norm's obsession with death. Norm said you should pity people with cancer which is why he didn't want anyone to know about his. Really great interview.
Nah thats just how Tom is, i'm convinced he has ADHD, i'm from canada and live about 2 hours away from where he grew up and started watching his cable access show he did from his parents house shortly after he started it and he has always been like that, Tom has known Norm for a long time, they lived about a block away from each other for awhile when they were both much younger and Tom mentions meeting Norm when he was doing standup in Ottawa which was right at the start of Norm's career. There's another episode of Norm on Tom's last show before this one, i think it may have been called Tom Green Live as well or maybe Tom Green's House, and Norm brought his 2 sons with him to the show so Tom had them come sit up where Norm was and was telling one of them about meeting Norm when younger and how they used to live right by each other.
Okay..... so I just have to say that, of all the interviews he's been in (including the famous classics we have all enjoyed) an interview by Tom Green (of all people!) was the best interview I've ever seen him in. How is this even possible?
@@hisoka8800 you need to watch “The Tom Green Show” to understand what he meant. Tom Green was the first to ever do a podcast before it was even called that..he’s so original. Don’t let this one interview ruin it for you.
@@kayla7562 the tom green show wan't a podcast, it was a pre recorded cable access comedy filmed in his parents house, then the comedy network and then mtv, and based on late night talk shows like letterman but with far more skits and video pieces, he also had a live band each week from the ottawa area, my cousins band played about midway through the first season and that wasn't even the first cable access comedy talk show in Ontario, a friend of mine did one based on letterman 6 years earlier in 1988 called 6 o'clock with Siblock, Unless you meant tom greens house tonight, but that was 3 years after the first podcast and wasn't a podcast, and wasn't even the first internet show or live internet show, it was probably the first ever live internet call-in show though.
This is the show with the beautiful haircuts. The necklines trimmed to perfection. This is the first time I can watch Norm without crying. And it's Christmas Day tomorrow and also my birthday.
Thank you for posting this. Two of my personal favorite humans together. I often find though people I like, seem to gravitate towards others I like and vice versa. i.e. the ones I like will have grudges with others I don't like. And I see from the comments here, there are many like me. There's some sort of weird invisible unspoken connection going on there. Wow, when Dave told Norm after his firing to "come to CBS, we'll get you a show," he was serious. I never knew that. Much respect for Dave and may Norm rest in peace.

Yeah I see comments here criticizing Tom for not gut laughing at every word out of Norms mouth... But that's why this is so good. They're peers more than interviewer and interviewed. Norm has a free a loose energy about him that you didn't get in a lot of 'main stream's formats. Great stuff.
Canadian kismet
Larry King had great interviews with Norm too. I enjoy those the most.
Trying it stoned this time. Wow
Damn, well I guess that 35 year old joke wasn't a joke
Norm macdonald is the greatest comedian ever
Took me a bit to come around but I'm starting to think so as well.
Definitely the funniest
Hands down.

I swear to god I thought the Epic Meal Time guy's question was gonna be "where do you get your ideas from?"
Same !!
Hhaahhah omg that'd have been awesome
Holy shit, that would have been absolutely fucking amazing.
Who did that bit? I remember hearing it but can't place it.
Dear Norm,
Do you get your ideas from doing a barrel roll?
RIP Norm, you forver improved my sense of humor ♥️
These are two of the most genuine comedians you can find. Today's comedy culture doesn't deserve either of them. Keep up the good work Tom and RIP Norm.
"I was against O.J. for committing double murder...but I am not against O.J. for getting brain cancer."
“Because I have it too”
Too sooooon too sooooon
cant argue with that logic
Rest in peace Norm💔
Now it's even more profound regarding his comedic expressions on death knowing of his battle with cancer for the last decade.
I love how Norm makes every interviewer nervous, Tom is visibly shaking.
Yeah he is! Tom is scared of the next thing coming out of norms mouth!😂😂😂
It's because he's built a rep as a comedian who literally doesn't give a fuck. He'll bomb on purpose. One of the most unique minds in pop culture of our time. Do not overlook Norm, he's a real genuis.
Tom is always shaken
I think he was worried about Norm’s usage of the R word
That's a true Testament to how good norm is
So in love with Norm Macdonald! Awe, the sparkle in his eyes! Rest in peace you beautiful soul!!

Yeah this is a really special video. It has a different atmosphere than many of the other Norm clips I've seen
Lmao
What a great interview, love hearing Norm speak candidly about stand up, wish I had thought to go and see him live before he passed away.
I love the Tom Green - Norm MacDonald friendship
i love how norm is pushing social boundaries by saying nice things about people
These two gentleman bandits have elegantly stolen the show since I first discovered them in the 90's. The legends finally come together and the Swedish is no longer lonely. And my bum is on the edge of my seat.
Good ol days
When Norm said "Now, I've never told this to anyone before..." I sat the fuck up and paid attention!
@@MandleRoss imagine if Norm had a foreskin walker story to tell 🧐🚬

What happened to the Swedish
I can't think about Tom Green without hearing those lyrics, "Daddy, would you like some sausage?"
That movie is fucking ridiculous. Love it.
Norm speaking on thoughts of death here and in all his appearances over the last decade has a much deeper impact watching them now. What a brave man. R.I.P. Norm. Thank you for your humorous sensibility.❤️🇨🇦
Everything comes down to its real measure in the face of death
Norm, "I was against O.J. for being a double murderer" LOL
Jeez, back in the good ol' days when the worst thing that could ever happen to you was a polar vortex.

One of my favorite interviews with Norm. The way he delivered ”shark tank” was beautiful 😂
Norm macdonald....I listen to one of his stand up shows nearly every night to fall asleep to.
SO HAPPY TO SEE MY 2 FAV CANADIAN GUYS. Hello from Toronto!
This was a well put together-more articulate tom? Sheesh
they were pretty good friends in the business iirc
@@King_Flippy_Nips I'm convinced you have ADHD

Okay..... so I just have to say that, of all the interviews he's been in (including the famous classics we have all enjoyed) an interview by Tom Green (of all people!) was the best interview I've ever seen him in.
How is this even possible?

Me too, I will always love Tom for the laughter he’s given me through the years!
