I just dropped a bunch of Canadian dimes on a 2024 Frontier Pro-4x, Your points were exactly what I thought as well. Physical buttons, no turbo, comes with most things standard, a bit cheaper than the other brands, availability, and quite a few after market addons available. I don't plan on off-roading, but am in Canada, so never know what you might encounter while out.
I'm getting a Colorado, but I am seeing a lot of Pro 4Xs on the road here. I think companies have lost their mind pricing trucks out of most consumer's budgets so that's why these things and Colorados are literally staying on the lot for less than a week before being sold. Hell, three colorados got off the transport and were sold before I even got off work to test drive. I honestly believe the Frontier will replace the Taco for sales just for the simple fact the next-gen taco is going to be crazy expensive. People just want a basic truck right now with the cost of living going up so much and Toyota is getting too confident that even if they price their trucks high they will sell. All I can say is Toyota needs to look at Stellantis and learn from their mistakes.
Colorado seems to have the typical GM product bugs like crappy electronics and they couldn't even squeeze in cruise control for the price, tf? People really need to stop buying GM products.
Been driving my 2022 pro-4x over a year and a half now. Still loving it! Do wish they came a few inches higher from factory. Put a 2 inch leveling kit on mine the very first day drove it off the lot.
I"ve had my Pro 4X for a month now and couldn't be happier with it. My previous 2 vehicles were Tacoma's, I would take this truck over either of them. This is much quieter on the road and just feels more solid. The crap that the Toyota dealers were pulling drove me to try out the Frontier and one test drive I was sold.
I’ve only had my ‘23 pro4x for a few months now but I am in love with it. That 9 speed with the v6 is stunningly smooth and quiet and agile. My fiancé has had 3 F250’s in her life and has always been a big truck person and even she is impressed. I recently towed a horse trailer with 1 horse in it (about 6300 pounds) and it handled it like a champ. I wouldn’t want to tow much more weight than that but the brakes and trans were just fine. You could notice the trailer was back there coming out of 4th into 5th gear like you notice towing with any vehicle but I was really impressed. I love the front end appearance and that older truck look it has on the side profile. The whole truck is endearing to me and I would recommend it over the competition simply for that 9 speed combined with the 3.8L v6. A brilliant combo for everyday driving.
I just bought one and I love it seats are comfortable plenty of leg room and head room looks and feels like a truck. Does everything I need it to do. Don’t know why they’re not popular I think they are a good looking truck.
I've been wanting a new truck for a while, but I've been waiting patiently for all the midsize redesigns to come out, and for the market to return to sanity. I'm not a sucker who's willing to pay over MSRP for an already overpriced vehicle. I think within the next year deep discounts will be available on the Frontier. The new Tacoma, on the other hand, will command top dollar for a while because Toyota will be sure to invent a supply shortage in order to boost demand and transaction prices. They've become quite good at playing that game since covid. As much as I like the new Tacoma, I'm leaning toward getting a 2024 Pro4x next spring. I like its old school simplicity, driving comfort and the durability/reliability of the V6... although I am a bit concerned about carbon build up since there's no port injection to wash the valves.
Congratulations on your truck , i ordered the 21 high elevation Canyon in March 2021 and only received it in January 22 because of the chip shortages. While I was waiting for the truck , i test drove the frontier , very impressed with it. But at the time the interest rate or lease rates were ridiculous , i bought the canyon because of the look and the rate was great , plus like you i definitely wanted a naturally aspirated engine , also a few other things i like about the GMC over the frontier , the rear window defroster , and the 4x4 auto function , especially since I live in Canada , i set it and leave it in auto for a few weeks at a time , don't have to worry about switching between 4 high and back to 2wd. Great review and video of your truck , thanks for sharing , and congratulations again , nice looking truck 👍👍
I'd love a rear defrost tbh. Luckily I'm in BC so we don't get much crazy winter weather like the rest of Canada so 2wd works for the most part haha. Enjoy your new truck 💪
Fully agree. Easy to use buttons and knobs totally ROCK !! Computer screens are distracted driving. I test drove PRO-4X and was totally impressed with the quiet inside and the ride is good for a truck. Was nice the set up higher seat. Bright electric blue metallic, cloth seats and definitely the luxury of a heated steering wheel for me. I’m at stage of going back and forth on thought of actually writing a big check. Yes/no every other day. Thanks for the info. Canada is a beautiful place and friendly people, it ROCKS.
I just got my pro4x baja color. Baja storm. For 20miles on the truck. I guess I have a good deal. What do you think? With solid bedcover bakflip MX4, lifted 2.5 RC. nitto ridgegrappler 275. For 900$ per month. They let me keep my tire 🛞. Total 60k. Pls let me know if this is good one. No down payment.
Great review and information ! I currently own a 2016 F150 and looking trade in my Ford for a 2024 Nissan Frontier , which I think is a wise choice over the competition. The Frontier far more simpler and reliable for the long haul .
I just bought a 2012 frontier sv with only 30,000 miles on it and it looks brand new it had to be kept in a garage. But I got it for 19k so I threw a arb rear locker in the back and a all dogs off-road Bilstein 5100 lift kit and threw some 285/75r16 tires and new black rims it is absolutely awesome I have never had a Nissan truck before but it will not be the last maybe in 5 years I'll go for a 2023 pro4x.
Regarding screen sizes, I say good luck to anyone buying a new Ram/Jeep/Dodge with their big screens and their new Uconnect5. They will need it. Good video by the way.
Your right, I do NOT see many of these NEW Frontiers and they been out a couple years now. The body of this truck is Bad A*S Looking if you ask me. No Dealer MARK-UPS either which is GREAT..
ive made the same move from 2020 mustang gt premium performance pack black to 2023 pro 4x glacier white. Somehow I enjoy the truck so much more, part of getting old i guess lol
Love my 23' Pro4x, its still relatively simple truck, compared to the competition, and got a good deal, almost $3k off. and it has a locker. but, the spray in bed liner is NOT standard on all pro4x. mine did not come with it. had to pay $600 for lineX. I think it's part of one of the three available packages.
I love that truck I went with the taco but ONLY because Nissan ignored my issues with a cvt transmission that they knew it was crap. I will never buy another Nissan.
I had bought my 2010 Suzuki Equator RMZ4 which was just a re-badged Frontier Pro-4x new in 2010. My wife just last December totalled it out getting hit in driver front door area. She never got hurt at being hit at about 55 mph. Had just 100,000 miles on it. Never had issues with it. I watch Scotty kilmer and he showed a person with the sport ute version wirh the 4.0 with close to 500,000 on it running perfect still. I miss my truck. To me they last every bit as long as Toyota. The problem Nissan has is their cars with cvt transmissions. Those are the worst.
I have an old truck 2002, can not imagine having to use a touchscreen while driving..that would be irritating. Turbos are going to give people fits when the miles get over 100k and this truck here will still be humming right along.
@@CanadianCruisin oh they sure have and I will test drive one soon and then offer them 48. I will likely buy a used 2022. Some are starting to sit on lots , especially in the US in a big way. People are getting smarter and no willing to be gouged by greedy manufacturers or dealers.
I must be lost in time.. no way in hades will i pay 60k for something that goes down in value.. not even 40k .. I'll look for low mileage used.. sorry guys you keep buying them they will keep hosing you..
I got my 23" pro4x, brand new. 3 miles on ODO. for $40k in Dallas TX in May of 2023. It does not have any packages(convenience, tech, luxury). except tow (the hitch and light plugs).
Just bought a 2023 Nismo last week with all the packages. Excellent deal. Love it.

I'm pretty sure you can use cleaners if needed due to there being no turbo for pieces of carbon to destroy.

Its US dollar
Not bad 👌
What color is this I have Boulder grey I didn’t think they had the old school silver anymore.

Great video! I just picked up something similar to yours (different color) for many of the same reasons.
Hiw did you get the "Frontier" letter decals on the front grill and tailgate? Were they an option? Or, are they after-market?
Aftermarket. I got mine on etsy but I think Amazon has them now as well
I’m in a 2020 Ram right now, im downsizing in a year or so. My favourite midsize is the Nissan, nice truck bro 👍
Thank you. It's definitely different than a full sized truck but if your ok with the smaller size I recommend it.

I have a 2024 Pro 4X it did NOT come with a spray-in bedliner at all & NO Hitch either which I thought was very odd.

Only needs two things. Auto opening rear window and memory seats. Then it’d be the most amazing truck lol.
