I think your friends will love the garden even more seeing you shared your own garden. Not to mention, it looks a yr old already, the entire garden looks lovely.
Always on a budget! Divisions have filled in many areas of my garden, additionally, my friends are always happy to take my divisions to add to their gardens...they always send pictures of the "one year later" established plants with heartfelt thank yous!
The bread knife! 🤣 I just remembered the little joke, Erin from The Impatient Gardener sneak into her video, when using the bread knife to cut the banana plant 🤣'You don't need to clean the bread knife".. I am still laughing... Anyone else thought about the same?
Beautiful, Yulia! The combination of hostas with grasses is something I would never have thought about! Thanks for the inspiration! That garden is turning out beautifully.
Love it when you have plants to share. If I were to press down on a shovel with flat sandals I would immediately get a cramp in the ball of my foot. Last year I was fortunate enough to receive several hosta, bleeding heart, and Solomon's seal plants from a friend.
Love this. Used to do all of this but now in my 70’s it’s hard to do anymore. I so enjoy your videos and knowledge. You created a gorgeous space for years to come.
LOVING IT ! It will look so beautiful as they mature. It's good that rain is coming. I notice that the plants love the water from the sky, over from the tap. 😍❤🌿🌾🌱
It looks so good.!!!! When I redo a garden bed I usually "shop" my garden before I go to the nursery. It is amazing how much can be done with divisions. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing all of this with us.
Yuliya, this shade garden looks amazing! I believe Michael's Hosta that you planted is 'June' - it's a lovely blue with avocado green and has different coloration depending on how much sun it gets! Good choice 😊💚
Girl.. every time I step out to play in the yard I take my heart into consideration and give up.. it’s too hot where I’m at!! 😂😂 I do dedicate time though in the evening
You could have titled this video “Chuckin’ Hostas” 🤣 Seriously tho… great job - every where you turn it’s one lovely spot after the next - the homeowners must be very pleased with your vision & outcome
You have a good eye for combining plants , love 💕 your selection from your garden , I’m a Hosta fan and would love to “shop” in Michael’s garden . My Hori Hori is a kitchen knife, too 😊
The shade garden looks beautiful! I have never seen hakonechloa looks so tall, they are very striking. Yuliya your projects are always stunning. Thanks for sharing with us.
Looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing that you divide perennials all through the year! I'm putting in a new garden bed and am happy to be able to divide plants I already have. It was especially nice to see you divide your japanese forest grass, as I have been wondering if it could be divided like other perennials.
You have such an abundance of plants, that you could be planting out the neighborhood! 😂 I'm not a hosta fan either. I have 2 together in one of my garden areas that's left. There were So many here, before I had moved in and wiped them all out! 😂👍
I’m pretty sure the hosta is a ‘Guacamole’. I have quite a few that also need to be divided.😂 This new garden is beautiful. I hope we get another look later in the season.
Hi Yulia. I have been watching for a few years. You are a great teacher. Do you ever do zoom consultations to make a plant/gardening plan to screen my fire pit from neighbor’s view. It would be an ‘island’ that runs into my border. Japanese maple and evergreen or conifer (or both). Thx (I’m not asking for a free plan😀)
lovely new shade garden, I love the grass with the hosta look. I'm curious, what is the purpose of the newspaper before composting? Is it for weed suppression? Thank you.
The garden is beautiful. I was interested that you divide perennials throughout the season. I'm in the process of expanding a shade moist garden and have many perennials that could be divided to fill the area in.
Beautiful transformation. I just bought a white corydalis too and so hope it reseeds with the vigor of the yellow! I love your yew plants along the fence - which ones are they.
Love hostas but agree they are completely overdone. I prefer to use them as accents and interest among other natives & cultivars in part-sun/shade locations. Love the overall look.
I think your friends will love the garden even more seeing you shared your own garden. Not to mention, it looks a yr old already, the entire garden looks lovely.
Aww, thank you
Always on a budget! Divisions have filled in many areas of my garden, additionally, my friends are always happy to take my divisions to add to their gardens...they always send pictures of the "one year later" established plants with heartfelt thank yous!
It looks gorgeous! Your friends are so lucky. You did a phenomenal job.
The bread knife! 🤣 I just remembered the little joke, Erin from The Impatient Gardener sneak into her video, when using the bread knife to cut the banana plant 🤣'You don't need to clean the bread knife".. I am still laughing... Anyone else thought about the same?
Always fun to see another sandal wearing gardener.
Beautiful, Yulia! The combination of hostas with grasses is something I would never have thought about! Thanks for the inspiration! That garden is turning out beautifully.
Thanks so much! 😊

Hostas are edible and deliciou! One can not overdo it with Hostas!! 😊
That new shade garden will look amazing when the plants settle in! Great selection of plant material.
Looks great, and so fun to share. It will fill in nicely. Like the white flowers in the shade!
Such a beautiful "re-use" of your garden plants. Fills in the area wonderfully!
Beautiful love the grasses and hosta combination. I love dividing plants and propagating. Always giving plants to my sons for their gardens.
Beautiful. I’m dividing tons of perennials to start my daughters garden in her new house. Win win!
Love that!

I was going to say I think it looks like a 'June' too as I have one and it's one of my favourites:)
Thank you!
You’re a good friend besides being a great designer
Girl.. every time I step out to play in the yard I take my heart into consideration and give up.. it’s too hot where I’m at!! 😂😂
I do dedicate time though in the evening
Heat arrived here as well 🤪
Love Michaels hosta garden! It’s mature and lush. Love Hostas!
This is so pretty. All the plants look beautiful together. So awesome you shared part of your garden 🌱🌸🌱🌱🌱🌿🌾
This garden is stunning! I love all of the plants you selected and the design of the new patio area! Beautiful!
Just beautiful. What a great friend to have!! I think I need to get some Forrest grass.
Gorgeous!
This is how I start a new garden. I go around my yard & look for plants that need dividing or just a different space. Beautiful job!
You could have titled this video “Chuckin’ Hostas” 🤣 Seriously tho… great job - every where you turn it’s one lovely spot after the next - the homeowners must be very pleased with your vision & outcome
I love shade gardens ❤

I use my bread knife too! Love all your tips. The garden is looking great! jd
The shade garden looks beautiful! I have never seen hakonechloa looks so tall, they are very striking. Yuliya your projects are always stunning. Thanks for sharing with us.
So much better than a group of 4 inch pots 🥰 and from your garden,a personal touch 🥰

haha, true
Beautiful combination of plants.
The grass makes the hostas shine & picks up the green in the hosta. Garden looks lovely
I love the whole space! I’m sure your friends are thrilled.
Thanks Yuliya 🌸💚🙃
Wow, so awesome! Everything turned out beautiful. I want to be your neighbor friend 😉 💚
Oh it looks magical 🍃🌸🍃
Such a gorgeous space. And I don’t care how many times I use or see hostas, I’ll always love them 💚
realistic garden works. It is very inspiring. thanks
Many thanks
Wow, looks fabulous!
I’m pretty sure the hosta is a ‘Guacamole’. I have quite a few that also need to be divided.😂 This new garden is beautiful. I hope we get another look later in the season.
Good to know you can divide even in the summer,,
Hi Yulia, my plant app says ‘Touch of Class’ or possibly a ‘Grand Marquee’ hosta. Love shade gardens! 💚
Looks so nice. I enjoy your videos.
So inspiring! I tend to forget I can shop for plant in my own garden 😅 thank you for the remainder
🏡~Great job Yulia, & way to share!❤ ~Bless you!👍

Beautiful finish shade garden, thanks for sharing. 👍❤️😊
I love hostas + hakenochloa too!! Hakenochloa is my favorite grass ever
Do you grow Astrantia in your garden? I love them and they are striking in flower arrangements. Thanks for another enjoyable video!
I especially like the way that you saw the problem and were able to see the solution.

lovely new shade garden, I love the grass with the hosta look. I'm curious, what is the purpose of the newspaper before composting? Is it for weed suppression? Thank you.
Beautiful and such a great idea. Thank you for sharing. I have a lot of iris and day lilies I need to do the same thing with ❤
Beautiful garden😮
Love budget gardening , so fun ❤️
Good ideas.
I have to divide my hosta too! That looks very nice!
gorgeous!
Beautiful garden 🪴
Beautiful shade loving plants.
Beautiful as always.
I’m excited for my perennials to achieve a size acceptable for dividing! Most plants were planted last year so they’re all still teeny.
You'd be surprised how quickly it happens 😁😁
Looks soooooo good!! I have been dividing mine and giving to my daughters!!!
Great job turned out beautiful as you always create!!! What great soil you have there!! I’m continually admending my gulf coast Sandy soil!!!🤨
I am constantly amending too. Love my soil now 😊😁
Love the plant selection :)
Where can I get the white flowering corydalis? I've never seen it and really love the look

Awesome
Great, the garden is lovely
Thank you. Do you dig your hostas to keep inside for the winter or just leave them in the ground?
Beautiful!
Love it!
Love the update! Was wondering did the purple hyacinth bean vines not work out? I loved that idea from your previous video.
they are still there, but haven't grown as well as I expected. the soil needs work. I added some compost and fertilizer so we shall see 😊
I believe that hosta is June
Love hostas but agree they are completely overdone. I prefer to use them as accents and interest among other natives & cultivars in part-sun/shade locations. Love the overall look.
Yes!
I have been looking for hakonechloa macra for quite some time. Can't find it anywhere!
Beautiful! But how will it look after rain? I mean paper and ground. Not paper up the ground?
The paper is under a thick layer of mulch and will break down eventually.
@busygardener thanks for answer)
Hosta Guacamole?
At 3:14 does anyone know the name of the smaller Hosta at the bottom center?
Not for sure, but looks like it could be 'Revolution' 💚😊
@@karenjoslin2772 Thanks.
🥰🥰🥰👍🏼
I don’t share plants with others due to Asian jumping worms. I don’t have them and don’t want them.
