One of my favorites. I planted some dichondra silver falls as a ground cover. It's not performing as well as I expected after seeing it used in one of Jim Putnam's friend's. Perhaps it needed to be planted at least a month earlier. You've made me reconsider trying to seed a small section of what we in the midwest call the boulevard with grass seed. Maybe plant with some steppables such as thyme, ajuga and fill in with shorter ornamental grasses. It's about a 5x6-ft. section at the end of my driveway so gets beat by piles of snow, sun, no irrigation and butts up to my neighbors' nicely reseeded lawn. Maybe I could place some square pavers to separate the properties. So frustrating trying to grown lawn under drought conditions. It's so fun seeing gardens at various times of growth. Thanks for showing Patty's garden. I've "revisited" it many times.

You did a great job filming this tour! I enjoyed this update of Patty's garden. I love the pairing of the disciplined color pallette and the whimsical structure of the plants. The way the fence is tucked into border is so lovely. I noticed the pup matched the furnishings just as you said it. 😄
Oh! such a delightful garden. Thank you both. Its like a cottage in the country. Loved the choice of plants and their different textures. The restricted pallette just brings it all together. Can't praise this garden enough. Well done both 👏👏
Good choice of patio furniture. Thin black wire lines repeated in the patio mortar joints, the shadow lines of the white shake siding, and the vertical shadow lines of the picket fence echo the black-white vertical stripes of the pillows. Less is more. Nothing fussy or over done. And yes, the unconscious inspiration was that sweet "oreo" of a dog! Love the Brunnera. White caladiums with green veins........ Strong verticals, grasses, or juncus. And that moment........before the arborvitae eats that section of fence, is in itself beautiful. Time waits for no man, or fence!

Looks like a dream. Just perfect Yulia. My garden guru. How do you get the Little Bluestem to become so full? I planted it in my garden and it isn't growing well at all. I am in a colder zone though. In Southwestern Ontario.
I love the back black and white patio area in the backyard. The dog is adorable and coordinates well with the black-and-white theme. The arborvitae hedge is a great way to block the noise and create a zen atmosphere. Placing stepping stones through the hedges and even an arched pergola would make an awesome entrance to the backyard. I don't love all the flowers flowing over the sidewalk and hiding that beautiful white fence. It looks a little messy to me, but understand that it is the cottage look and a lot of people love it.
