Don't get rid of the swing! Just upgrade it to an old school plank style, little steppingstone path to sit down on it and then underplant with lower growing hostas! What a magical view that could be!
right, im 32 and i still use a swing on the playgrounds with my son :D
I agree. Don’t take it down.
I was just coming on here to suggest the same thing
Beautiful!
You could even have a two-seater swing with a low back. It would be a lovely, shady spot to rest and enjoy your garden.
I've learnt from Laura to call each one of my day's chores as my "project for today". It totally changes one's attitude towards tackling annoying things. Such a positive personality you are Laura 💚
Learned. No such word as learnt!!
@@karynzaslow968 I looked it up, there is. Learned is something else.
Look again. You’ve misunderstood the meaning.
I have done the same.
I’ve been doing that too!! There’s less drudgery with a “project” compared to a “chore”
Hi Laura, You should replace the baby swing with a nice big wood swing for all ages to enjoy!
Hearing the natural sounds instead of music is so nice! You can hear the birds singing, and it feels like we are there with you.
I love this too as sometimes music is annoying.
I enjoy so much more without the music. The sounds of nature are soothing.
I agree. I love it too
Agree.. the music is too much… love the birds and nature
So beautiful, the stone path just looks like it was always there
Over the past few yrs I have learned so much from watching you and your husband ❤
I have 18 huge hosta plants planted on the side of our garage facing the driveway. I plant impatient flowers with them for a pop of color during the summer ❤
Good morning, Laura, from Windermere, Florida 9b 🇺🇸
I always appreciate your mentioning what zone your plants are meant for. ❤
Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾 👍
❤Peggy❤
Me too!!
Yes to telling the zones.
It seems Benjamin is becoming more interested in wanting to help you plant with his little shovel. That’s awesome and what a transformation of the area.
I thought the same thing. He wants to be more involved out maybe just have more connection with his momma.
Forever I was a single planter Laura but over time you’ve taught me to look at my garden differently and turn more into a mass planter my space looks so much more complete✨🤍👍
Yes!!!
Same here. I tell my friends I’m starting to plant like my friend Laura. 😂😂😂
EXACTLY! Me too! I was looking at the plants at my local supermarket and considered buying something and then all of a sudden I saw three identical plants and thought of Laura! hahaha my garden is going up a level now! ❤
I do not have much room, so I am going to try doubling up where I can.
@@deborahcarson5927 i asked my husband to make sure he doesn’t let me only buy just one plant anymore- if I want One I Have To Buy Two of Them from Now on..my goal is to get away from the mish mash single look!
I didn't think the garden could be elevated to the next level but the flagstone pathways really enhance the space and give such a polished look.
🌼Good morning Laura, Aaron, and little “sneakers”, Benjamin and Samantha Grace, and lovely GA friends. Another dream space stylized by Laura, and with the perfect plants. The pathway is just stunning-we all hope to have team of Pedro and his staff of hard workers around to help us every now and again. Have a wonderful garden day everyone ☕️🦋🐝💚
This area is so beautiful and peaceful! I love the idea of upgrading the swing to a plank swing or even a porch type swing that the entire family can enjoy. So beautiful!
Seeing the family intermingled at various times during filming was a heartwarming touch. Laura, you are making everything look beautiful.
What a gorgeous space! It’s so tranquil. I would be sitting there every day!❤
Enjoy Nature today!
That new heucherella is beautiful
I love this new shade garden. The flagstone paths and the willow in the distance add so much to its atmosphere. The music was very soothing as well.
Something so peaceful about a shade garden. Add the sounds of the birds … perfection !
Morning Everyone 🍃🌸🍃
Laura: "I'm not planting any more hostas."
Also Laura: " I'm planting 6 different varieties of hostas today!"
It’s what i love about her! 😂😂
😂😂😂😂 Laura is just like all gardeners always changing her mind & simply enjoying her beautiful garden while she potters away (I should say working hard in the garden even with the help they have that's still alot of work for 4 people) very proud of Laura & Aaron for all they have accomplished with their home & still helping with community projects
That rock pathway is so beautiful. Pedro and his crew do amazing work and get it done FAST!!!!
Your son and daughter are beautiful and so respectful of you and your "job" with filming and planting.
Just made it to Andrews Seed last week. Was so amazed at the staging of the beautiful, healthy plants I saw. My brother and cousin were with me and I believe they enjoyed the garden center as much as I did. I think may have gained Garden Answer two more subscribers. We drove around the town and saw all the places where you have planted flowers. Ate at the local Mexican restaurant, which I would recommend. Was a highlight of my dream vacation. Oregon is absolutely beautiful this year.
Laura, I love how your kitties and children are in the videos. It shows that you can do what you love and be with your family. ♥️ I also love how you share your thoughts and vision. Very inspiring 😋🦋🌷
Yes. I came specifically to comment that if you change that swing seat to the traditional soft rectangle, everybody will use it ❤
Gorgeous!! You’re pots of blue hydrangeas would look fabulous around the table area!!!
I can see the space in three years. Leave the edge alone and let pathway shine and new plants keep it clean and simple for the view. Patience is a virtue your space will fill in quickly. Your gonna love it more if possible. Sit and enjoy please!
Love this shade garden video. Unlike you, I have a lot of shade and am always looking for plants to add to my garden. This variety is amazing!
The thumbnail image is so lovely. Almost a postcard to me. Love it.
I went back to look, it is beautiful. Thanks for pointing it out.
Good morning glories from Maryland. 🌱🌷🍀🌹🌞
Don’t get rid of the swing, just add a wooden plank. And watch your kids swing on it 👍 beautiful area just beautiful ❤
Oh, I LOVE this video so much! I have an area of my garden that is all shade - most of my garden is all shade, really. LOVE these plants. And that Red Dragon - stunning. I have 4 red dragons in my garden and let me tell you, they have the MOST intense red color of any Weeping Red Japanese Maple I have ever seen. That's why I keep buying them. They are so beautiful. They can take some sun, and as a matter of fact, they get more red with some sun. Laura, you are going to love it!
Benjamin and Samantha are growing up so quickly. It will be sad to see the swing disappear. The Huechera adds such a bright spot of color to the area. I have so much shade so I really enjoy watching you plant in shady areas.
The hardscape, mature trees and shade seems to add a heightened level of charm and character to the space. Shade gardens help bring out the color and contrasts between the greens and various foliage of the perennials... Such a beautiful space.
Good morning, Laura and family! It was so great to see everyone out and working and playing together. Thank you, Aaron, for drilling those holes. That was a job!! I love that your children are outside , playing and using their imagination . Hugs from N.C..❤️
Hi Laura, Aaron, Benjamin and Samantha Grace! It's always nice seeing the whole family out together. It was good seeing Cheddar, too. The stone pathway is so nice. It really made it easier to have a vision for the area. The plants you picked are pretty where you planted them. Thank you so much for sharing!
Вы мой мотиватор! Я в два раза старше, но учиться никогда не поздно. Спасибо и привет из Украины!!!

@@ds7675 Да, это Я, моя Страна, мой Флаг!!!
невже?
Hi Laura I absolutely love this shade garden area! It took me a couple of minutes to realize what it use to look like before the stone path. Love the stone path ! The way it meanders through the space just perfect! Please don’t remove the swing. Our babies grow up so fast and it would be a sweet reminder of that season of life with your babies. 💞😊
Good morning, Everyone!!
Good morning!
The split/fork in the stone path just does something for me. So beautiful!
Yes! Amazing, isn't it!
I was so excited to see the picture when the video popped up! So happy to see this area get planted! And I agree with another comment about keeping the swing. Just upgrade to a regular swing. Swings just add a fun element to a garden.
Laura, such a mom. What a patient young mom. (Quarter to the kids). Won't be long for Christmas lights. Getting ready for 107° this week. Thinking cool stuff since everyday over 100.
Are you in central Texas too? What a nightmare this weather is. Austin.
107! Omg....🥵
Already starting to think about fall - must be because our first 110 temperature is next week! 🥵
@@michelesimpson2237Can’t believe how hot it is there! TX has really had quite the weather year so far.
Hoping you're all okay! Unreal (but very real). We're still waiting for summer here in Bend, Oregon. We're west of Laura at the Cascade Mtn range. The mountains block most of the wet weather from us, so we're in the high desert as well, but today's high is 63, low 38. Sending cooling breezes your way!
This video, with the shade planting under the trees, the sounds of birds, and Benjamin and Samantha watching mommy and daddy work in the garden, was wonderful. You've outdone yourself, Laura. The area looks like it's peaceful - a lovely feeling to have in any garden. Love it, as always.
Good morning, Laura ☕️ My ultimate favorite plant is the Hosta. So many different varieties and growth habits. I saw one at my local nursery for $500. 😳 a collector addiction. Your beds look gorgeous. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
My word!
I love hostas also but $500 ????? Never knew one would go for so much !!!! Soooo out of my range .
What a transformation! It feels like an entirely new area! Is this the beginning of the shady era? Where Laura gets to fill the pockets of shade with beautiful little shade-lovers? I feel like this marks the start of a new chapter of GA… even if the shady parts are spaced a bit out from each other.
I love how this area turned out. Just beautiful!
Beautiful Laura! Wow what a difference! The stone walkway amazing!🌱🪻🪴
Pretty, pretty, pretty new area. And how I loved seeing the four of you out there together, gardening as a family - touched my heart! 💚
I've been watering my hostas fairly heavily, almost daily. Sometimes twice a day, on hot days. They seem to LOVE being consistently moist. They only ever start to look a bit sad if they go a week or so without it.
Yes here in Central Georgia I have to do the same. On days when it's in the nineties, they do better with the extra watering. I water first thing in the morning, then again in the afternoon. I don't wait till late evening, cause they need it more in the very hottest part of the day. We've had rain for the past two days, expecting more everyday this week. Gives me a break. Knew the rain was coming so I cut grass, did trimming, cut back my gardenias, they had bloomed and we're lovely, but like with all spring bloomers they just come and go. They will bloom again when the weather starts to cool down. Got everything fertilized with miracle grow. Laura does hers once a week, so I started doing the same,an I have seen a huge difference in the growth and the healthy leaves. Lot of work. Don't know how they do all they do.
@Patricia Shelton I don't either. I've got my hands full just managing a tenth of what they do. Laura is a machine, lol
I agree ❤❤❤
I really enjoyed this video! From the views , the calming music, the beautiful serene shade plantings to seeing the kiddos pop in and say hello! It's just a relaxing video to have my lunch break with....thank you, GA!
Good morning from Delaware Garden Answer friends.
How exciting to see this area develop, it’s been waiting for quite awhile! Absolutely love the stone walkway and your design of the shade garden is so pretty! Great Job !😉
Beautiful area. Your plant choices are always so perfect for the area. Loved watching this evolve and looking forward to seeing garden mature. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day everyone 😎
That walkway is just beautiful, a piece of art. It does just call you to wander down it. It is creating that sense of ‘rooms’ you have mentioned before. The plants are the icing on the cake. You are creating a masterpiece of nature.
The music in today’s video is so peaceful and amazing. Great choice. The area is also looking beautiful.
This area feels really serene, love it! I agree with the breathing space, something so peaceful about it 💕
To see your property grow and develop. Takes my breath away, you guys have done such a beautiful job. That pathway really looks great i love it.
My new gallery and cafe is all about showing up. What an impactful message. My husband will be at the cafe a lot and will, by his presence “show up” For the community which we have invested in. I love that you live community and show it with your participation!
Laura, I think you'll be surprised how much water the ferns and hosta require to grow to their full potential. I have my blue spruce underplanted with the same plants, including yews and hydrangeas plus brunnera and controlled lamium. The area gets overhead sprinkler water daily for 30 minutes. Southwestern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 so typically temperatures 80 - 90 in the summer with minimal rain. I think youll need to increase you watering frequency
Everything is coming together so beautiful. And the stone pathway is gorgeous.
I'm in Vancouver with alot of shade. I need this inspiration
Love how Benjamin and Samantha inserted themselves into your video❣ One of the first things I noticed was the swing… what a beautiful place for the kiddos to play and enjoy 😊
Sorry I doubted you. Like always, Laura you knocked it out of the park!
Love the movement that the ferns and huechera blooms offer this space. It’s all just gorgeous
What beautiful plants 😍😍
That's the perfect spot for a tire swing or one of those hanging tree tents. That tree still has many years of memories to make with the kids! I would keep the space open.
I have a good amount of shade I've been struggling with, I absolutely love those autumn looking heukerallas. Thanks ever so much for inspiration once again. Love those kids❤
Love the start on this new Garden Laura and all the colors, and I can't wait to see what these hostas grow into.
I love the idea of sure fires being planted along the edge ! What a wonderful view that will be! Great planting Laura!
I am addicted to this channel, because it’s such a therapy, will Laura and the kids smiling and positive vibes with lovely garden as a background.
That's such a beautiful spot around that tree for a circle beautiful garden and having green 😊grass around and under area of ur family outside dinner table, plush green for all kid's can play as u visit with family and friends, beautiful colors 😊 Gourgously Kido's 😊
Good morning! 🌻🐝
The faeries love your garden and the praise you give to each and every plant and tree. You've created a magical garden filled with joy and love. Sending peace-filled thoughts to everyone.
An old time swing would look great there. Perfect spot for even an adult swing!
Morning everyone.
Good morning!
I love this!!! It is so beautiful and has inspired me with some shaded areas in my own garden. Thank you! Your sweet attitude and kindness are so uplifting. Thank you to both of you for doing such a great job with your channel.
That blue leaves on the Russian sage, lavender and the peach yarrow. So beautiful.
It is so great that your area receives so much precipitation to allow for such a vast area that requires so much watering. Gorgeous garden.
Dan Krueger, said it all. You could really make it look magical.😊
Going to look beautiful! Beautiful
Absolutely Gorgeous 😍 Love the stone path
Very pretty. Get yourself a cup of coffee and enjoy the calm before the rain. The music was very peaceful too.
I swear your kids are too adorable and cute and well behaved. Happy Kids.
At 6am this morning our heat index is 87 degrees. Misery
Laura the flowers you picked are gorgeous love them all
Laura why aren't you using your auger look like it would have been easier
@terresiagregg9326 She explained in the video she was using a shovel to avoid tree roots.
Wow! You can turn your yard into an entire arboretum ❤
I am here for the flowers but the sweet sweet kiddos wanting to be near you stole the show💕
I love those heuchera so much❣️there are so many different ones with that same colouring. I use those as my red colour dotted throughout my gardens. They are beautiful and that colour does the best here they come back year after year. I have divided them many times also and they look so beautiful❣️
Hope you get to enjoy your hostas this year. We Love them soo much here in the midwest. We normally get lots of rain.
Wow! The walkway created such an amazing cluster of beds. So many opportunities for more beauty. The use of so many different shade plant combinations has given me so many more ideas. Now I want a walkway too! Lol.
A bench swing would be a great replacement for the bucket swing. So much fun watching you transform another spot in your garden into loveliness!
Talk about motivational! I am off to the garden center right now. Benjamin and Samantha are so patient as you work and plant. Do they have an idea of what you do for a living? Have you ever shown them videos they’ve been in? Thank you for your dedication to this channel. You are an inspiration to us all!❤
So beautiful ❤
I agree every big tree needs a old school house flat seat swing, even for adults! Lookin so lovely Laura. Go get a nice grape pop cycle! Empress wu needs lots of water!
Love seeing your kiddos interested in your work and gardening! Looks like Benjamin needs an upgraded shovel (he's getting so tall!) and give his shovel to Samantha. Your planting looks wonderful!
Love the large dark grey stone at 25:55 in the path! Who had that idea? Would have never thought of it. It somehow ties everything together and brings out the beauty of the entire area! Love it ❤️
Love the Heuchera and Heucherellas! Although we have have had challenges in the past, our Heucheras grew back beautifully this spring! 🙂
Are they coral bells?
@@irisscally950 yes, they are 🙂
MyBackyardScience I have quite a few different varieties. I've never heard them called Heuchras before, only Coral Bells.
The seating area with the swing is perfect, but there is no swing for Benjamin. The idea of a wood slat bottom swing somone mentioned would be a huge update and would take care of any 'guilt' for not having a playset (mentioned in a recent video). The slat bottom swing is timeless, popular with kids and adults. That is a great childhood memory!
One of my favorite videos ever! Hostas! Ferns! Heucheras! HEAVEN!!!
