Hell yeah! Thanks for the video. If you could go back and do it again would you still have gone with the 15% throw reduction or maybe the 20% x-spec standard height?
Yeah I would do the 15% percent again. I spoke with George at MGW and he runs a 15% on his vehicle aswell. His thought process was the same as mine. Which is wanting more precise shifts and not to concerned about reduction in throw. You will notice a difference even with 15% vs. Stock and the shifts are much better.
Well don't quote me on it, but I believe there earlier version when the s550 first came out the shifter was a bit off, but as far as I know that has been addressed. I believe any shifter you purchase now will be very much centered in the console when in neutral. That is how mine is. However when in any gear 1-6 the position of shifter handle will be different from stock, but that is due to the throw and that course can be different depending on what reduction you choose.
I'm thinking about putting a short throw shifter in my s550 and was just wondering if you worked from the ground on jack stands and if so any suggestions on proper jack points? Great video, dig it.
Sorry for the late response just noticed your question. Yes I did the install on jack stands. I put two jackstands in back were the IRS subframe brackets are and two up front under the front subframe. Not a bad install but taking the stock shifter out is a bit tricky as you have to basically disassemble it into like 3 parts in the tunnel. Also i didn't remove the driveshaft. Thanks for watching!
@@mick76 Really appreciate you getting back with me. Did you remove the exhaust? and I assume you jacked from the pinch weld then placed the stands on the IRS subframe? Thanks
@@kevinpayne2353 Ahhh thats a good question. Not sure if the stock resonator would be in the way. My guess is you might have to be removed. I have an aftermarket exhaust with h-pipe so no the removal of the exhaust was not needed and yes i just jacked at the pinch points.
No mod needed. I'm not on a road course. The roads I drove that day were in the area in which I live. Just because I own a Mustang doesn't mean I have to drive like a dick.

Also remember the shorter the throw the more notchy the feel.
Some say that the alignment of the shifter is not good with MGW
can you show us the shifter from other angels please,,,, thank you

@@mick76 Thanks
Nice stang is this a base model?
Yes sir, only options I wanted were recaro's and the performance pack.
Coyote5.0 so you must have the 373? I’m in the market for a used 15-17 5.0 it’s really to identify which Gears a 5.0 has.
@@ydtech2649 Correct performce pack cars come with 3.73.
Is this the standard or low profile handle?
