I know this is an old video but I really appreciate the detailed step-by-step process; I'm just getting started making my own stuff and it really helps to see the drawers, especially. Really like the simple style and the sturdiness. It's easy to add your own touches to it, but the basic design is classic and will withstand daily living. Nothing in my house gets babied except actual babies and animals. BTW, put some safety gear on, you have a lot to offer and we want you around. Thanks for the great tutorial!
This is awesome!! I’m only intermediate in my skill- and definitely not at the point where I will splurge on more expensive machinery! I really appreciate this video! 🙌 helped a lot!
Love the simplicity and not afraid to use common lumber instead of super fine always expensive Baltic birch/or hickory or other unnecessary wood Great build, turned out really nice
Thanks for the videos D.I.Y man your a great instructor my first project was your table saw with a secret it came out identical to yours I appreciate all of your content
Hey man I watch your stuff all the time and subscribed to your stuff. I tried to build thus exact dresser but am having trouble finding the right drawer slides that you used. The ones I got were a half inch short
i just saw this video and this really helped. but one question, at 0:51, what are you using to make the pocket holes and what type of screws are you using?
Nail gun nails have a wedge on the end. They will deflect to the right or left but not front or back. At 10:58 if you hold it 90 degrees to the bottom of the drawer, you wont get the deflection you got. It's easier to avoid than fix.
Well hello, thanks for this video, I love wood working and I want to try my hand at this, I want to make two tall dressers to replace my one long dresser. But I'm not very good with a tape measure, so I try to keep everything even. You did an awesome job.
You made it look so easy to build... I wish I had the strength for applying pressure and lifting. I would have loved to be able to make one my self.😍💕💕💕 You are very good at giving detailed information too. Thank you for this awesome video.
Thanks so much for this video detailed information steps by steps from start to finish I will definitely recommend question thou what is the name of the tool you use you carved the edges of the dresser top ?
Super informative video man. Big help for a guy trying to do the exact same thing. I'll need a table saw set into a big table like you'be got and chop saw and I'll be watching this again when it's time to build. I'll modify the dims though. So all sims are based on those under mount slides right? As they are a fixed depth?
Thank you! They way I designed this dresser, you could easily use side mounted drawer slides from lowes or Home Depot as long as you use 3/4” plywood on the left and right side. You would need to attach a 2x2 or a 2x4 between the top two drawers to mount the top drawer slides though. The rest of the measurements should work out perfectly for slide mounts if you want to do that. I bought the under mount drawer slides as a set at a garage sale, but if you want to use those, I found a link to a very similar set on Amazon that should work just fine. That’s in the description of you want to check that out. Good luck on your build!
How do the drawers stay attached to the draw slides? My build is for our grandson. Another question I have is if the depth of my drawer is 13.75” what length of slide do I need?
Hello I have a question as I tried to replicate the face frame and for some reason I am not coming up with the same outcome. Length of frame? And spacers please?
I love this. Would it be possible for you to let me know from start to finish, the name of all the saws and tools you used to build this? Thanks so much if you can
Is the 1 by 2 true dimensions or is it 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 just curious as if I by a 1 by 4 at the store it will come in a 3/4 by 3 1/2 also what size screws are you using 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 thanks
Thanks for the video I just got done building two of these for my sons your video made it so easy I’m not sure how to add a picture in comments but thanks so much for your video
An excellent job, but keep your fingers always little further away when you use finish nailer , little more and you end up with a nail on your fingers ...minute 3:52
Could say to the nearest $50 how much the lumber for this project cost you? I want to build my own dresser but I'm worried it might just be cheaper to buy one
The hardware is the most expensive part. Everything here should be less than $200 if you order the drawer slides online instead of going to Lowes or HD for them
You will find its more expensive to build your own just due to the cost of Lumber. BUT its far more satisfying to do it yourself and it will last far longer than the composite junk you get from most places. Just my 2 cents!
Here, where everything has gotten extremely expensive, you will spend near $200 in lumber using cheap plywood and non-treated pine wood slats. However the local home depot always have cull wood in the back of the wood area with a 70% discount, so that could save a lot. With the hardware it will cost more than a store bought chest drawer but the quality and durability will be a hundred times more. That garbage from IKEA, walmart, rooms to go and others don't survive a lot.
I’ve noticed in most of your videos that you use a 1/4 sheet orbital sander. Is there a big difference in that sander compared to a random orbital sander? Or is it a matter of preference?
I have both and I’ve never noticed a big difference in the two. The random orbital sander might remove wood a little more quickly, but not much. It is really convenient to change the sandpaper, but also more expensive. That’s mainly why I use the 1/4 sheet sander, because it’s so much cheaper
Looks like awfully flimsy framing, to me. 3 years ago--how has it held up since (if used) or was it built for looks only, e.g. staging flipped houses for sale?
Great video but I had to find out the hard way about your materials list is NOT CORRECT, you might want to CORRECT that one, you need a total of 2 1x10x8s one will only do 2 small drawer faces and 2 big drawer faces still need 2 more
You make furniture and a lot of other items we all need, and the nice part is you don't complicate the build and the end result is always awesome!
Thanks Juliet! I appreciate that!

That’s weird. I thought i put a link to them in the description. If not, you might consider throwing a piece of 1/2” plywood in back
i just saw this video and this really helped. but one question, at 0:51, what are you using to make the pocket holes and what type of screws are you using?
Kreg jig

What size brads are you using here?
I can’t remember. I like 1 1/2” typically
Hello sir u think make one for a birthday gift? Want it be blue?
Can you add a cut list to the comments. The video is a little confusing on some of the cuts. Thanks. I plan to build one of these dressers soon
How do the drawers stay attached to the draw slides? My build is for our grandson. Another question I have is if the depth of my drawer is 13.75” what length of slide do I need?
They come with small screws. I’m not sure if they make a 13” drawer slide. You’ll probably need a 12” if they dont
@@DIYMAN thank you so much. It is a big help.

Drill/impact gun

18ga brad nailer
Table saw
Circular saw
Miter saw
Jig saw
Sander
Ty so much💯

My 1x2s are .75x1.5. When I say a lumber size, it’s what you buy at the store
Thanks for the video I just got done building two of these for my sons your video made it so easy I’m not sure how to add a picture in comments but thanks so much for your video
Do you sell the plans??
Отлично!
Didn’t even see a domino in this build 😖😂👍🏻
Is the 1x2 a true 1x2 or is 3/4 by 1.5 ?
3/4x1.5
What size are the drawer slides?
15” drawer slides. link in the description if you’re interested
How much weight can it hold?
An excellent job, but keep your fingers always little further away when you use finish nailer , little more and you end up with a nail on your fingers ...minute 3:52
why do u put wood glue between the would and then screw them together?

Has anybody used 3/4" plywood for the front and side frames?
How much did it cost to make this ???????
I honestly wish I could remember. It was probably about $200-250 to make
LOL! my saw dust cover missing on my router (spitting saw dust) LOL!!!!!
Do you think I could do this with a jigsaw hammer and nails?
Yes, but not easily and it would take a while
@@DIYMAN thanx for the reply, what kind of lumber would you recommend?(keep in mind I’m only close enough to a Home Depot)

How did you not hit nails with router after you nailed the trim around the top edge? 🤦♂️🤷♂️
I actually did hit a few of them
@@DIYMAN thanks! I think I will just try gluing mine. Nice build.
Dude, a pilot and a woodworker, let go for a beer
I love doing both just about the same as the other
