The airport hustle: Unauthorized drivers looking to take passengers for a ride

- The City of Chicago`s attempts to crack down on people who illegally offer rides at Chicago`s airports hasn`t stopped a steady stream of solicitors.
I salute these individuals. They are true capitalists and embody the true nature of rugged individualism that this country was founded on. They're working hard, taking what's theirs and not letting anyone, including government regulations, stand in their way. This country needs more hard working, rugged individuals, like them. Thank you, guys. Keep up the good work.
We took a taxi from downtown to our motel by the airport.
Our driver tried to get more cash by taking us the shoreline rather than the highway. Then he wanted $80.
He got $40 and needless to say he wasn’t happy.
There are days that we wish that DBZ-like teleportation was a real thing...
hmm- well- quite frankly the city never had our interests at heart. Try to fly O'hare from Palos/Orland, for years yous ripped us off- the SW side, incidentally has no EL. Everything in Chi-town is a scam. The tolls, the pot holes, the cost to park, the predatory tow truck racket, the personal property tax on the car, the registration fees, the tickets via camera- the cab industry been a rip off for many years.... confusing no parking tow away signs and quick to impound cars....when I last visited- the toll on the Chicago skyway- the cash box was so jammed it would not accept money to let me thru- I paid that toll 3 times... press button for help which never came. What is one to do? It is illegal to back up the car on the sky way, it is illegal to crash the gate to get thru the broken toll.....the idea of sending a ticket to me via the postal mail is ridiculous. Your grid is very intimidating to the tourist.... but then so is the crime on the Mag mile... visitors to Chicagoland wont come since it is not rational.... out of no where a car will slam on the brakes at a yellow light causing the car in back to hit it- all due to cam tickets....then peace activists shut down the expressway.... and a few months later the people want cameras in the Stevenson, because of the increase in shootings on the interstate... yet- when teens are being teens and it is caught on CCTV the pictures can not be released because it could provoke racism....Chicago has lost any prestige it once had.......back in the 80s a mob went to destroy a local artist painting of the then Mayor Washington, featured wearing womens underwear.... those in the mob committed hate crimes against the other 56 genders... and as such- MUST BE DEPLATFORMED off of social media.
If Uber is too slow and airport shuttles too expensive, then maybe these guys aren't so bad.
