Amazing Comparison Sam! Not gonna lie, I really like the rear of the Sentra SR and Front of the Elantra. Not a huge fan of Elantra Rear. Big fan of the two-tone color in Sentra but waiting to see the new color in Hyundai rolled in N-Line“ Exotic Green “, haven’t seen any yet! But, the amount of tech and design tweaks Hyundai added in the 2024 Elantra N-Line makes it a winner for me🏆Not only it drives better than 2023 N-Line but also It looks much more aggressive with those new rims and new front Fascia than the 2023.
Simple, both cars are for commuting, one is a simple Japanese really reliable recipe! Never breaks never fails against a super cheap Korean car that makes more horsepower due to a cheap turbo...if you need that extra power for .. commuting you have your answer, if you need a CAR .. stick with the Japanese
Me too
The Elantra may be faster but the Sentra looks better
@@rafaelmacedo6679 You fell in love with Japanese cars that fake performance. Now Japan has been making a big fuss because they cheated on car performance tests for 35 years. Recently, Hyundai is not already a car of the past and at least does not cheat performance tests.
The Hyundai is miles ahead of the outdated Sentra. You would be a fool to pay $30k for a Sentra.😂
its like $25k USD
@@eliotgarcia21 Even less in my area. We're looking at some today and with the dealership discounts, the price for the SR starts at $23,500. That's with added heated seats, the black 18 inch rims, and some other things.
Elantra all the way.
It feels like comparing apples to oranges even though they are in the same class. Elantra is the answer.
After dealing with a Hyundai and the engine grenading at 70k km and the horrible experience with their warranty and process I just can’t in any good faith ever recommend that experience to anyone else not even my worst enemy
@@SINE382instead of repeating the same old garbage off the internet, how bout you say which engine "grenades at 70k km". Cause i know the 1.6T doesnt.
@@davidcohen2762 2.0t and yes the 1.6t are infamous for having excess carbon build up and needing the heads rebuilt 🤷♂️ I dealt with this crap I’m in the lawsuit and the car is no longer in my possession. I stayed far away from the 1.6t after they too have an active lawsuit for failure as well. Buy a Hyundai and get a guaranteed trip to court. Good times 🤙
@@davidcohen2762haha literally. My buddy owns an Elantra N and after all this time hes had 0 issues. My old co-worker had an elantra sport with the 1.6T and 7 speed. He had no issues and I believe he was at 80K+ miles lmao
@@Michael-hx6ls exactly, I currently have the N and I’m at almost 35K miles now less than a year and no issues what so ever, I don’t abuse it lol but I do use it if that makes sense.
These haters keep speaking about the awful engines that ran from around like 2014 I think till 2018
Elantra all the way...
Imagine if Nissan got their shit together and slapped the 2.0 VC Turbo from the Altima and slap a SE-R badge with a manual or at least a 7 speed auto trans 🤤..
Nissan better see this message cause that will b nice
Elantra an the video hasn’t even started
In 1990 the top of the line Nissan Sentra SE-R was powered by the 2 liter sr20de and made 140 hp. Had a curb weight of 2,594 lbs.
34 years later and the Sentra has a 2 liter. Mr20dd hp is up by only 9 hp, torque up by 14 lb ft. But curb weight is up 600 lbs as well.
34 years later and the car is now a second and half slower in the 1/4 mile than the car with same name 34 years ago.
Well that's the ser. They don't have an ser now. When they did have an ser it did 0-60 in 6 4 seconds. Faster than that 1900 ser. It's like saying a BMW m5 of old should be faster than the base engine of the new 1. Not really???
S e r SpecV was the top of the line and has a 2.5l natural aspirated engine
You would also be seriously hurt or dead even in a low speed crash in that old sentra.
That’s 600 lbs of added technology and accessories
this was in the mid 00s.In the 90s it was just an ser.@@jdavidblais
Sentra is ancient and not in a good way. Would never want a jatco CVT. Elantra wins by quite some margin. Crazy they want $30k for that Senta
Hyundai all day 🔥🔥🔥
NISSAN SENTRA 💪💪
@@adanvasquez2300
😂😂😂😂 Are you serious
@@adanvasquez2300 Honestly, Hyundai has a good blinker sound and is better than Nissan.
@@Jackson-son Nissan Sentra 💪💪
Should have compared the Kia Forte GT
I drove to the Hyundai lot a couple weeks ago to look around with my wife and kids and the new Elnatra is VERY sharp looking in person. I would take that and trust it over the Nissan without question. I know both manufactures had their issues in the past but they all have. The Nissan is not bad look but it looks dated already.
A CAR IS ONLY FOR DRIVING OR MOVING AND THERE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS SAFETY. KOREAN OR CHINESE CARS ADD A LOT OF ENTERTAINMENT TECHNOLOGY THAT EVEN DISTRACTS YOU. I PREFER A SAFE AND DURABLE CAR AND THAT IS WHAT THE JAPANESE LIKE NISSAN AND TOYOTA OFFER

Glad you like them!
I like both but for me I like the screens and the tech more in the Elantra and the front in but I personally like and real gear box shifting if I could afford both I would get both really.
How is this even a discussion? The Nline has 201 HP and a DCT. The SR has 149 HP and a CVT.
You would be silly to go with the Nissan.
Yes but also fuel efficiency isn’t the same
@SamCarLegion when you guys were testing what difference was noticed 2-3L pre 100/km?

Sentra's design looks like it's at least five years old both inside and outside.. and way less horse power, CVT.. except for the tiny bit better mpg, Sentra is no match to Elantra imo.
Wouldn't want hyundai turbo engine or dual clutch transmission which has been seeing problems. The sentra will last longer even with the cvt. Wouldn't want that 1.6 turbo past 100k miles with no warranty.
@@occckid123where have you been living? Hyundai's 1.6 turbo has been having zero issues in the Elantra, their wet clutch DCT has been having no issues whatsoever since the Veloster N, which debuted in 2019.
@@occckid123for comparison, Nissan has been having CVT issues with their Sentra for the longest time and they have not been able to fix it
Simply nissan R&D team are non existent, they have been miking GTR design for plus 20 years, they milked the hell out of patrol design since 2010. Nissan need a good slap in the face to wake up from the dead and start making nice cars.
the funny thing Sentra used to be a sport sedan and now became a fucking econo box SMH nissan.
@@yahyoh91 the sentra actually has excellent handling. Have you driven 1?
The sentra is only missing an sr20 det , and the 6 speed manual from the old sentra ser.
More drag races please!
i dont see the Sentra Drag Race?!
I have the 2024 Nissan Versa SR. How does it compare with the 2024 Sentra SR?
Elantra wins
They both lost. 2 budget cars that should not be racing . These car companies prey on delusional people who've never owned anything actually fast . It's sad
@@TheEmmanuel426 I completely understand what you mean, and I agree with you that they are not cars intended for speed, but every customer looking for a car has his financial ability, and some have limited ability, and these companies are playing on this chord by making small cars with an athletic breath, and they have succeeded in doing so.
I went to buy a Sentra back in 2021 - it was sitting right in the show room but they refused to sell on the price saying it is entirely a payment discussion. Got the Elantra and they said - it is true that 95% of people will agree to the payment negotiation and it is thus logical that many dealers red flag people who want the real pricing to be given.
I am a new subscriber from Winnipeg and I love your videos! Thank you 🎉❤
Thanks for subbing!
the elantra looks great
May the best NTRA wins!
Don’t forget to mention that when you press the bottom selecter and choose Sport and then place the shifter in towards the left for either automatic or manual. In manual it’s now in sport-plus + mode which gives the n-line more power and make sure you floor it to get the full effect. Also disable the traction control. To prevent wheel hop upgrade the lower engine mount to a bit stiffer bushings. But stay away from the stiffest bushings. Choices are. Yellow, slightly stiff. Purple, stiffer(best) choice for R/T use and Black, hard track only. Get better spark plugs like HKS for that engine and put a K&N drop in filter. Remove the secondary catalyst. Which will yield you an extra 10-12 hp. Use either Motul 0w20 “specific” or Amsoil “signature” 0w20 plus two cans of BG MOA in the oil. Last but not least a good quality 91-93 octane fuel. Don’t use octane boosters. They will eventually clog your main catalytic converter. It doesn’t appreciably increase performance and is not worth the headache. 🤘
❤Nissan❤
The last good sentra was the S E R specV 2011…
2012 SER sentra 😢
The Sentra's CVT is "Not that bad." Now there's a ringing endorsement.
I can see like 'orange skin' of paint on N-line, or am I wrong?
Its interesting that hyundai ditched 1.6T in sonatas
Compact cars aren’t so compact anymore and the prices have gone up dramatically.
What are you talking about? 😂 Compact cars still start around 20k and go up to around 30k. The average price of a car nowadays is 48k. So compact cars are relatively inexpensive. There's this thing called inflation, thanks to the federal reserve which means the dollar loses value over time (for no good reason other than it being a hidden tax)
I’m saying that the Nissan Sentra isn’t a compact car like how it was 20 years ago. The Mitsubishi Mirage and Chevrolet Sonic and others are the new compact cars. 😂
@@SupUce yeah true compact cars got bigger and midsize sedans are like the full size sedans
I actually cross shopped these two and it's not close - the Elantra has a far more modern cockpit, 50 more hp, vs that stupid CVT Nissan has. If it was a comparison between base or mid models it might be closer but not in this spec.
Woooouuu
Hyundai or Nissan on 30k
Best choice
Charger SXT
Hyundai better than ever❤
one has sporty power and the other one just looks sporty with a cvt
I thought Nissan offered an SR-Turbo in the Sentra, or has that been discontinued?
That was discontinued in 2018, although the Altima now has an sr turbo
@@malmal2148
Then Nissan needs to put the 1.5L VC-Turbo in the Sentra and up the power.
@@chiemekaa I agree, bring back the se-r and put that motor in it with a manual or dct
No contest! Elantra FTW
2 different runs trims
Sentra has the premium package so it has bose audio a sunroof 360 camera and leather but you can get it without the package and pay alot less and delete the black roof and wheels making it 4k cheaper.
They are the perfect match in terms of trims dollar per dollar
@@SamCarLegion I think you should use the sentra sr and not the sr premium. Like I said the sentra had bose audio system a sunroof a 360 degree camera and and full leather. Those are high dollar features missing from the hyundai. I'm saying the value would be better on the sentra if you unchecked that box. Maybe the option packages are different in canada...
@@occckid123 Elantra has bigger screens, wireless charging, 2 usb c ports, 8 way adjustable seats. They both have the premium trims
@@SamCarLegion yes but those are things that are becoming standard these days. I hate electronic screens. An extra USB port? Really? That varies between vehicles. Stuff that cost more like a sunroof a 360 camera and and full leather are different than an extra power adjustment on a seat or a better upgraded audio system which the sentra has.
I've been watching your shorts and videos for years, but he could of did use a sr premium than this one it would make it a little bit more fair.
Even though im leasing a nissan frontier im leaning towards the Kia Forte GT over both of these.

Elantra ftw its not even close lol
Did that elantra not have a sunroof? What type of audio system? No 360 camera? Reliable 1.6 turbo and dual clutch??? No full leather? Not even competition? You're smoking. I'd say the tradeoffs and strengths of each 1 has them in the same ball field.

I know cna driving lexus, Mercedes and on, i know nurses driving almost what they call expenses car i am guessing they are rich. I also know dr driving regular car accord. Some kia car cost around 50k so that cheap. I work in hospital in the parking lot i have seen all kind of cars parked at the parking lot, either expensive or not all drive in the same roads. I have a co woker she just got a new grand cherokee jeep she cannot disclose the price and i am supposed to make more money than her in a regular pay rate without overtime. Whenever they talk about Hyundai and kia they said cheap but when you consider the msrp is about 1k or less different in some instances kia and hyundai are more expensive.
the Sentra can absolutely not hang with the Elantra. The N-Line Elantra has to be the best looking car in its class.
Elantra has a lot of orange peel in the paint, and Sentra got rid of its fog lights, and now the spot is covered with fake plastic vent. Big step back.
The issue with Nissan is it is owned by Renault French company. And they make all Nissans really cheap and low quality compared to when Nissan was pure Japanese company.
Why do many car manufacturers (Mazda 3 hatchback, Nissan Sentra etc) "deliberately" make the window line slopes up in the rear, hence restricting rear quarter visibility from the inside? Style over substance. Stupid.By the way the Hyundai is over styled, the Nissan looks better, cleaner.
I like Hyundai too, but I admit that the style is too much.
Hyundai doesnt compete with Nissan anymore. They target Honda and Toyota now. Nissan is failing and it's very apparent why.
I know the elantra was just redesigned but man the Sentra looks really outdated next to the Elantra both inside and out.
We DON’T GIVE AF about revving it.

N line in this generation is only name and look.
There's no turbocharger and special suspension setup.

Elantra is much prettier in design. Sentra is not even comparable.
You are tripping hell nah
Juust seen a new Maxima. Bro the design was so ahead of time it still blows the Sonota and K5 easy
Ahahaha
The Elantra nline has the same performance as the regular Elantra. The only difference is the Enline logo, some designs, and the Enline chair.
No the base has a 2.0l naturally aspirated engine with 147hp, N-line has a 1.6l turbo with 201hp, and the full N has 2.0l turbo with 275hp.
The en regular and n line are both 1.6t engines.
The 2.0 naturally aspirated engine is in the Sonata, but the Sonata also prefers the 1.6t engine.
The Sonata's nline engine is 2.5t.
@user-ce4ej6oj6q is not correct! What I said is correct.. simple Google search. And the sonata got rid of the 1.6t and only has the 2.5 naturally aspirated or 2.5 turbo. What country are you in?

i would take the sentra, i like the interior, i love the fuel efficiency, the design is better for me because it passes the year without really getting ugly. I really hate the elantra design, the front is ok but the back is one of the ugliest i ever saw. I have to say of course the elentra interior is way better than the elentra, but i feel the elentra will cost more to repair.
I had a 2018 Sentra Nismo, and quality and longevity wise, Nissan every time. Hyundai quality control is garbage. Only knock on the Sentra is it's CVT, which is basically the worst tranny on the planet (and can't even be tuned, I tried). No Turbo version for the SR (like previous years) is also a huge oversight
2:58 the Elantra paint quality is very awful !

How about that cvt?
This comment would have made sense in 2012. Somehow you missed a whole decade of Nissan living on the verge of bankruptcy along w/ their Jatco CVT nightmare.
@mikedaleiden7725 No one cares if Nissans are getting ppl to work and driving thousands of miles over 100k on average. The CVT definitely upgraded I drive in Ubers all the time.
