Micheals vocals gave Van Halen their unique sound. In my opinion one of the best background vocalist/ bass players. Glad he stuck with Sammy.

are you like with a PR firm or something ? there are plenty of amazing lead vocalist / bass players. Sting, Greg Lake, paul mccartney. Michael Anthony is probably one of the biggest chump / unworthy musicians around. hes here cause hes probably genuinely easy to get along with amongst huge egos that have been in that band so maybe its like michael anthony, massive ego tamer or worlds best punching bag. thats not necessarily a bad thing i mean here is making music. we dont give enough credit to survivors.

    • @barbaraalexander7246
      @barbaraalexander7246 5 лет назад +2

I've been a HUGE HUGE FAN of Sammy Hagar since his Montrose days. Sammy's voice really is my favorite. It wouldn't matter what band Sammy fronted, that band would be better for having Sammy and they'd be successful musically and popular. Sammy is as good, even better today than ever. I have other 'voice' favorites in ROCK, be it Robert Plant, Paul Rodgers, Lou Gramm, Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler, Tom Petty, Steve Perry, stop me, I could go on. All upper echelon vocalists. I've seen them all in concert many times. As great sounding live as on disc. I've heard all the upper echelon singers in 60+ years, and Sammy can hang with any one of The BEST. What's also so cool about Sammy is he really likes other upper echelon musicians. He surrounds himself with The BEST musicians. I can't imagine Michael, as good a bass player as there is with nice vocal pipes, and Sammy ever parting ways. Those two belong together always. A true brotherhood that's visible. Anyway, if I had to pick just one vocalist to ever listen to again, I'd choose Sammy. He can play geetar as well, like, very well. So, Sammy, just keep doing what you Love cuz you make me happy to listen to you sing, play, talk, joke and laugh. And to look at. You're still so damned cute! You're good people Sammy and The Circle ROCKS!!! Thanks for all the great music Jason, Vic, Michael and RED ROCKER SAMMY!!!🎸🎵Love and Peace to all of you!✌💝

The very first time I heard this song on the radio in ‘86, I don’t know if the DJ had announced it and I missed it, but as soon as I listened to it I knew it had to be the new Sammy Hagar led Van Halen!
    I recognized Hagar’s voice and Eddie’s guitar!

You can tell Sammy is bored of talking about the Van Halen/Van Hagar day's, but bless him he's such a good guy that he still tells the story

5150 is the best Van Halen Album and one of the 10 best albums of Rock History. I discovered it when I was 9 (thanks to my uncle) and today I still enjoy this masterpiece as the first day. It meant a lot to me and, after all these years, It still gives me the creeps when it sounds in my car, in my headphones or at home... . The solo of 5150 song sounds super-organic to me (I play guitar since I was 13... I am 42 now) and it is one of my favorite Edward's solo. This album makes me FEEL... Which is the purpose of music. And I am really happy to know that Sammy is a successful man: Of course, I do not know him personally, but he's the kind of person who deserves it. Thank you for such a good music!

I respect your opinion., thanks for sharing. I love it when people share an opinion that's less popular and less agreed on. It shows you're not a follower. I personally liked Roth VH more than Van Hagar, but both had their good qualities. For me : best Van Hagar album was Carnal Knowledge, but I liked Balance too.

5150 was Loud and Proud with Tonnes of Awesome! Sammy's entrance into VH made 1986 a great year! I think that Tour was way better , in terms of live energy and musicality, than the 1984 Tour. 33 years later, SH, MA, JB and VJ Absolutely Rock as a band!

    • @Vichedges

He always sounded better than Dave on a technical level, Dave was about showbiz and charisma. I much prefer Dave in VH than Sammy. Those old VH songs were so funny too.

Jason Allen Dave was better in Van Halen
Partially because they started as a harder band & Eddie decided to change the sound keyboards & more ballads
Roth was a great showman. Barley avg as a singer
Hagar was a hard rock guy montrose & solo
      But Eddie was the boss
& he knew Hagar could sing anything because of his range

“pretty good” you obviously get a kick at being condescending. This is the crap musicians have to put up with, a layperson passing judgement on a skill of which they know nothing about.

Amazing, Michael is just too cool, kicking ass on the bass, still singing strong, and most important he doesn't care about bad blood with Van Halen because he knows life is too short for that shit. Sammy of course still kickin' ass too. They sound great together, way to go guys! Hey Sammy, new material with Michael????
