I can tell youve experienced somethimg similar. Nobody really understands how crazy these kind of storms can get unless theyve had first hand knowlege. Thanks so much for joining us.
RSI has rubber weather covers for those latches on your smart cap. I sent them a pic of the sales receipt and S/N of the cap, they sent me 6 covers for free, they're awesome and keep your latches clean and dry!
@@barelymadeit obviously I'm from MT, those latch covers kept my latches from freezing closed in the winter. Camp kitchen is awesome, but I'm going to go with the half shelves on each side because I have two Goldendoodles the use the slide windows to stick their heads out. FYI, I have the 3.5" GC lift in part because of your video when you were wheeling with "Out of the Ordinary" in Moab. Our Gladiators look very similar except mine is Punk'n Orange, lol
@@MTHuntN Oh that's awesome! Send us a video and we'll feature it on the channel. We're starting to add subscriber builds at the end of each video! Also i'd love to learn about MT trails. I've heard its a gold mine of awesome trails up there but hardly any are published.
Cool video, and good call playing it safe. You don't want to take chances when your on the trail solo, with vehicle issues or the weather. Look into a radio with a weather channel. Safe travels, and keep filming..
Thanks so much for watching! I think youre right about the radio but ive been seeing that even those are delayed a bit. So i think we are going to just get starlink and be able to pull up live data anywhere. Also having internet comms will be helpful in so many othet ways too. 😀
We just did the same trail 3 weeks ago it’s funny I was smelling the same thing on my jeep if you go again go further up to the next lake. It’s called Mackinaw Lake it’s beautiful
Haha no shit! Thats wild. There must be something in the mud. The trail looked like it went further but we didnt have the time unfortunatly. Next time we will go further for sure!
The smell was probably mud hitting you exhaust and drying out. Black mud contains a lot of organic material and smells funky when it hits hot surfaces. Also your rig is way more capable than you think. The key is to try to stay calm in those situations. I dont think it was a fail, It looked like fun adventure, some lessons to learn. Get comfortable with your rig and capability I dont know why you were worry about tipping as it never looked that bad. Yes mud can also get behind the wheel and throw the tire out of balance.
Man it was so freaky to smell that. 😅 You’re 100% right, getting comfortable with the trucks capabilities is likes something you never fully learn. Its like we are always learning if that makes sense.
If you ever go into or have already the Flattops or transfer trail it's mud city. It takes several weeks of cleaning to get the mud off of your Rig. I'm sure some is still still under there somewhere. 😂
Doesn't look bad from camera view but those of us who've experienced these trails know very well how crazy it gets lol. Also, that smoking is just water contacting hot parts in your engine bay and steaming up.
That is so true!! Christian almost died from a falling tree in a wind storm on Hayden Pass a few years back too so shes extra sensative to wind in the forest. The smoke is totally water, but i like to freak the kids out. 😂 thanks so much for joining us!
D60s+42s = Leads to there is NOTHING I cant conquer mentality which NEVER leads to problems because once you have them you are an expert at ALL offroad-overlanding things ;) okay back to the video
I love long trails like that. Having fun is the name of the game and you played it well.
Drone footage was peaceful and relaxing. Thanks.
We’re trying to change up the pace a little, glad you liked it and that you could join us. 😀
If you spray the mud off of your tires, it's also a good idea to spray the radiator to get any mud off so the jeep doesn't overheat.
Mountain storms can be very dangerous especially with the lightning, good call to head out with the kids

Y’all made the right call especially with two little ones on the trip. It certainly was not a failed trip at all.
Feeling like you made the right call in a situation like this is always tough, so im glad you agree. 😀
Love the footage and you sharing your experience! Thank you for making the video!
Thanks so much! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
The quality of these videos is so high. Hoping youll have a boost soon!
Thanks so much! We are trying to make each one a little better. Hopefully the youtube gods are listening. 😅
Great video guys. Glad I met you on the road. This is Neville with the Gobi Gladiator
Hey Neville!! Thanks for watching! I hope your trip is going well!!
@@barelymadeit had a great trip finally home went all the way up to BC and Epic Outfitters for my Kraken and then shad my 4th set of shocks out on.
@@nevilleguard3558 😱 wow what a trek! Im glad your back safe now! I bet your footage is gonna be epic!
Love this trail! It’s definitely a long one. We got my buddies full size Silverado up it in the middle of a rain storm. Slip n slide all the way up 😂
Wow that's really impressive! In rain it's insane how fast this trail gets crazy! haha.

Think some GMRS radio have some kinda weather channel, if that helps. Fun video, thanks for sharing.
Oh thats true. I dont think ours does that. I need to look into that.
Bravo 👏 Jeep is definitely a beast.

Or 40's on portals with air suspension - pitch and yaw control
Oh snap! (Chris pratt meme) 42s on 60s on portals. 😱🤯
Heading out there elk hunting in a few weeks. Would that trail be driveable with a stock F150?
If you take it slow you might be ok. If its wet steer clear though.
My friend, thats water splashing up on the engine, its steam.
I know but its more fun not to correct the kids and let them think its a real adventure. 😅

Love your videos, but why would you have a dog in your hand when you have children in the car?
