It might sounds crazy right now, but back then, this movie got the same level of hype like Endgame.

This movie looks absolutely fantastic. Perhaps the greatest of all 3. The villain seems amazing and has an epic voice. All of the important elements for a truly great superhero movie seem to be coming together. I'm so excited for this movie.

The twist itself was that terrorism could be caused by anyone, including a man in a suit. The problem was that it wasn't executed well enough give that the actual villain for the film turned out to be some vengeful nerd. Like it could have been really nice just having that social commentary about the complex nature of terrorism and how anyone can do terrible things and how they justify it.
"Nothing's been the same since New York. You experience things, and then they're over." By that, I'm sure he means that the team has broken up quickly afterwards, and he's alone again. As much as he protests, Tony always loves that team - in many versions, he's the one to suggest they form a team/stay together, and he's always the one to provide a headquarters for them. It sounds like everyone went on their own way here, and he doesn't like it. But begging them to come back? He'd never do that.
